It is Early evening here in Tokyo. The sun is resting over the western sky as it begins to dip into the horizon. It was a good day. Filled with all sorts of good things, Especially for Nagisa Misumi. Filled with Sleep, and, Sleep, and, well there was Lunch! That is always that and that is always great, then there was the exam which she had spent last night craming for, Oh and then it was Lacrosse practice!
Practice went well. Practice always goes well really. Nagisa loves being out on the field and training with her friends. Its the best feeling in the world. It helps to be Verone's star lacrosse player. That doesn't make the game any less fun. Next week they have a game versus Infinity U and they need to be ready after all.
As practice ended, Nagisa's stomach let loose a terrifying rumble. She is definitely hungry. Her friends had to head home for the evening. Guess it was time to go home. Then, she remembered.
"Nagisa stop at Midori-ya on the way home and pick up some bread to go with dinner. I'll give you some extra money so you can get yourself something too." Nagisa's mom had said,
So quickly, Nagisa made her way to Midori-ya. Already her mouth is watering over the prospects of yummy baked goodness.
Honoka Yukishiro finished class for the first time with her new classmates. Like everyone else, she giggled at the redhead who slept through class and got in trouble for it. She was very attentive in her class, and even got to correct the teacher who did a bad equation. After class, she slid on a lab coat and went to Science Club. She was doing her own thing, working on an apparatus to create candy. It's a work in progress and she shattered a beaker. She couldn't find a replacement so worked on some other tasks with some of the students.
After class, she kept her lab coat on - it makes her look more distinguished, and heads towards Midori. Grandma wanted some sweetcakes so she decided to go by, walking in, reading a science textbook about sugar. She almost bumped into someone a few times as she finally enters Midori-ya, finally closing the book. She looks aruond then sees that redhead student who was sleeping so soundly. She heads over there. "Good morning, Sleeping Beauty."
Haruna Kurosawa has had a fun two days! Tuxedo Kamen is no longer wound up like a tin soldier- which puts some ease on her, She totally got Hannah-cuddles forever, and she got two friends together! Really, there's very little that can harsh this happiness buzz. She might explooooode in happiness even! Corvus is on her shoulder- the seagull remaining quiet as she peeks into Midori-ya. She crosses her arms and looks around.
Two girls. One teases the other. She grins a bit as she walks to the counter and presses her nose against it for a bit. What's good today...
Oh, there's still some of those heart cupcakes! But.. mm. No. Maybe. A Danish..
Yeah a danish! All that yummy cream cheese.
Nagisa frowns and gives a little duck face as she mutters about craming all night for the quiz. Finally she speaks up, "Hey aren't you in my class? you're the one who saved me from that bad equation!" She smiles, "Thanks for that. I'm Nagisa Misumi."
Then its back to the sleep comment, "I have a good reason for not sleeping like I was! I was up all night cramming for that quiz today. I think I did alright on it but, At least I studied for it." If you want to call it that.
She then finds herself right beside Haruna looking at all the yummy sweets. "oooooh These look great! But... I wonder..." She glances up at menu and her eyes light up. "I know what I'm getting!!" She practically sings.
Honoka Yukishiro just raises an eyebrow. "It's not my fault that the teacher wrote the equation wrong. I mean, seriously. That guy should be ashamed for having to be corrected by a student. I hope I didn't humiliate him." She studies Nagisa. "You're quite impulsive, aren't you? Oh, I'm Honoka." She studies the menu, seeing the sweet rolls. And maybe she'll snag a danish for herself. She just steps back a bit, quite sure she didn't want to be between this redhead and her sweet tooth.
Haruna Kurosawa looks over to Nagsia, and blinks. Then to Honoka and she blinks. Corvus blinks. She looks back to the case. "I'll take that Danish right there. The big one!~" she says to the cashier and she pays and she orders a container of milk because- that's what goes with pastries.
"My name's Haruna Kurosawa!" she says with a curt, matter of fact nod. "This is my pet seagull, Corvus." she says. Don't mind that he's named for a crow~
"You two talkin about school?" she asks softly peeking between the two.
"That's boring isn't it? We were in there all daaaaay." she whines.
Nagisa Misumi looks at the person at the counter, "I would like a turtle crepe and a loaf of that knot french bread! Oh! A bottle of water too." She quickly pays the man and waits for her order. Her attention goes to Haruna and to the seagull with her. She giggles, "A pet seagull? That is an unusual pet."
She smiles a little, "My name is Nagisa Misumi. Nice to meet you." She looks over to her classmate and she gives her a weird look, "Impulsive? Maybe thats what makes me good at lacrosse!" She laughs a little.
Honoka Yukishiro raises an eyebrow. "Unusual indeed, because 'Corvus' is the genus associated with crows and ravens. If you were to name such a bird in that manner, it should be named Larus." After Nagisa's order was made, she places her own order. A knotted french bread, a dozen sweet rolls, and one danish, along with a bottle of water as well. "Class is never boring," she muses. "I'm working on an experiment to create candy in science club."
Haruna Kurosawa beams! "Well he's an unusual seagull! He's tame no worries." she says. Corvus sort of just deals with being talked about like he's an animal. He knows the reasons for it. Can't exactly be a talky seagull to mundane people. They ask /questions/ and she has to come up with /goofy answers/ like-- checkout my ventriloquism act, ahahahhahahha! ^,^;;;;;;.
She nods to Nagsia, then over to Honoka. "I think it's a cute name." she insistss to Honoka. Even if it's incorrect /now/, it wasn't once upon a time.
"I think he likes the name Corvus anyways." she says.
"ANYWAYS." she says. "It's not boring sure, but. nows the time to relax." she says to Honoka. "If you're working all the time, when do you have fun!?" she asks.
Nagisa's order is given to her. There is the loaf of bread of course. That is in a brown paper bag. The bottle of water is nothing major either. But the crepe is the star of this show alright! They soft pancake like confectionary is HUGE and loaded with a special whipped cream/cream cheese blend which just looks too fluffy to believe. Then there is the nuts which look very yummy. Finally It is drowned in chocolate and caramel then topped with a piece of candy. It is definitely the stuff of fantasy.
Nagisa takes her things. On her face is a goofy grin the like of which haven't been seen. "Join me at a table?" She asks the girls. And then it happens. Honoka goes off on the facts about the girl's seagull's name!
It takes a few moments for Nagisa to recover from that one. She just looks at Honoka, "How would you even know that! No wonder my friends called you the Queen of Knowledge. Unbelievable!"
Honoka Yukishiro shrugs. "I really started studying birds a few years ago. Fascinating little creatures. It'd be fun to fly through the sky like them..." she murmurs. "But I must admit that 'Corvus' is more aesthetically pleasing than 'Larae' for a pet name, and easier to pronounce." She gets her own order of wrapped french bread. She stares at the crepe. "How do you stay in shape to play lacrosse when you eat stuff like that?" she asks curiously. "And Science Club _is_ relaxing. Finding out how the world works is fun. Besides. Homemade candy. It's an awesome thought. In a chemistry lab nonetheless. Still working on keeping the apparatus stable." She pulls out a sheet of paper out of her lab coat that has a complicated schematic. The beaker at point 31 keeps shattering under the pressure. I'm working on a solution." She hmmmmms as she gets a pencil and starts working on it while she noms on the small danish. "And yes, I've heard that nickname before, Nagisa."
Haruna Kurosawa smiles. "It is!" she says. She blinks and smiles. "Of course I'll sit with you both! Better than sitting alone!" she beams. She sits down and places Corvus down on the table. She breaks off half the danish and gives him half. She noms on her own half. Corvus pecks at his half.
"So you're making Candy and in the Science Club? Neat." she says.
"Is it fun for you, too?" she asks.
"Sounds like you work a lot. Is that what you find fun?" she asks curiously.
Nagisa has already dived into the most yummy of yummy confectionary. Not only that she is getting it all over her face. "Omnomf!" She quickly swallows down some of her food, "Sorry, Have you ever played? You run around that much this is the tip of the iceburg! We really work off what we eat. Running around like that non-stop. Then there is the dodging and jumping, shooting and trying to out maneuver the other team. It is tough!" NOMF! Right back into the yummy mess of Crepe
Honoka Yukishiro just stares at Nagisa. She silently got up, grabbed some extra napkins, and handed them to Nagisa. She hmmmmmms as she hopes Nagisa got the idea. "It's not work if you enjoy it. My goal is to win a Nobel Prize one day. A lofty goal, but I think I can manage it." She tries tempting Corvus over to her with a bite of danish.
Corvus eats his danish and is easily coaxed over to Honoka for more danish because he's secretly- well not so secretly- greedy about sweets. He's tame. Friendly.
"You can preen him if you want. He doesn't bite or nip." she says.
She nods to Honoka. "I guess that's right..." she says softly. She looks over to Nagsia and smiles. "I'm in Kickboxing Club in Infinity. I'm getting really good!" she says with a smile.
"Is Lacrosse any fun?" she asks curiously.
Nagisa Misumi accepts the napkins and quickly wipes her face off. That doesn't last long as she goes at the impossibly delicious goodness of the crepe yet again. This time she only gets it on her nose which is a bit of an improvement over everwhere else.
Then the question that she can actually answer! "Yes! Its a lot of fun! You learn a lot about team work and fair play! You get to run around and stuff. Even though sometimes you wanna smack your opponent with your stick you gotta have self control! You learn a lot being on the field! Its a lot of fun. You should come to the game next weekend. Verone is playing Infinity. It'll be fun!" She exclaims and then wipes the whipped cream off her nose.
Then she snickers to Honoka, "I'd never make it to be anytthing like that I just wanna merry the guy of my dreams, become a famous lacrosse star and have kids some day."
Honoka Yukishiro shrugs. "If you flunk out of school you won't account to much, and if you keep sleeping in class that is your fate," she muses as she gently reaches forward to pet Corvus. "I've never heard of anyone taming a seagull before - parrots, sure. But not a seagull..." She smiles, hmmming softly. "Do you want to be Larae now?" she coooos.
Haruna Kurosawa gives Honoka a weird side-eye. Like it can understand her. Still, Haruna talks. "Corvus is a name someone special gave to him that isn't around anymore. That's important to.. you know?" she says softly. Still. She nods matter of factly.
"School's important too! and so are clubs I'm finding out! But you gotta have some fun too..."
"If you don't have fun then you just over-work yourself!" she says.
"...have you ever... just goofed off before, Honoka?" she asks. "Just for fun...?" she asks.
Nagisa Misumi laughs, "Hey I'm passing! I do study! Really! I just am not very good at it you know?" She finishes off her crepe and wipes her face off before cracking open her water and taking a sip. "Mmmmmm This is nice. I should of got into this a little earlier."
She looks at Honoka and smiles with a mischievous grin, "Blowing up the science lab doesn't count as fun by the way!" She giggles a little bit.
Honoka Yukishiro had finished her danish (with a bit of help from Corvus). "Oh - you heard about that, huh?" she asks. "And... to you, my leisure activity might not count as 'fun'. But I so enjoy reading and studying things. But could you define 'just goofed off' for me so I'm sure we're on the same page?"
Haruna Kurosawa says. "Like go sit somewhere and do nothing! I go to the beach and just sit on it during the late spring and summer! I really like the beach. It's peaceful. I'm looking forward to going with my sister this year!" she says softly.
DShe blinks to Nagsia. Then to Honoka.
"You blew up Verone's Science Lab!?" she asks.
Nagisa Misumi nods, "She totally did. At least I think it was her. It was last year. I was at lunch and I head a BOOM! The school had to be evacuated for the day." She laughs a little. "It was totally unbelievable." She takes a sip of of her water.
"Goofing off to me, means just doing something for the fun of it. Not any major reason. Not to learn something. Just to have a little fun. Like when you are cleaning your room and you find yourself playing with your things just because they are there." Nagisa smiles a little.
Honoka Yukishiro blushes faintly. "That was the only time I made the school evacuate. The reaction went wrong and I accidentally made hydrofluoric acid. Sharuna almost lost her hand. I was told to be more careful, but I did win the science fair," she muses, smiling. "And... well... doesi t count that when I'm tidying up my room I fall into a book and read it for an hour or two?"
Haruna Kurosawa thinks. "Well..let's grade that...."
She pulls over a napkin and undoes a pen cap from her pocket and begins writing. "So you were doing work so you get a C for 'Work'... but you stopped work mid work to do something else, so that's a B! but... that thing was reading- well....hrm...."
She taps the pen against the napkin.
"What was the book about?" she asks.
Nagisa Misumi looks at Honoka and giggles, "Well its a start! Plenty of room for improvement right?" She just nervously smiles as the little droplet forms beside her head. She's a lost cause, she just knows it! Quickly she shakes it off. Subject Change! That works.
"So maybe you should try out for the Lacrosse team? I'm sure between Shiho, Rina, and myself we can get you up to snuff to defend the schools honor!" Oh yeah! Now that is a subject changes! "Its up to you though."
Honoka Yukishiro blinks. "It was a astronomy textbook that I acquired at a yard sale and was reading. So if you are grading me on 'goofing off', I believe a D+ is the best I can get for that." She smiles. "I've never received such a grade in my life though. How does one 'goof off', then?" she asks blankly. "I honestly have no idea."
Haruna Kurosawa pouts. "Yeah, D+ overall, you stink at goofing off!" she insists with a giggle. "Read something fun next time! Imaginative. Maybe about...."
"Pirates." she nods matter of factly. "Or Ninjas." she says.
"Maybe both!" she smiles.
She looks and nods a bit.
"Well don't go full bore!" she says. "Your work n' school still seems important, but all work and no play , etc." she insists.
Nagisa Misumi giggles, "PIRATES VS NINJAS!!!" The idea is sound right. "They will fight to the death... or until the rum and sake is run out!" She snickers a little and takes another sip of her water. "I think it could be a best seller! I am not very good with writing though.
Her offer to help Honoka to learn lacrosse was largely ignored but, thats fine. Its not for everyone and Honoka definitely seems to be more of a brain. A soft sigh escapes her lips as she thinks to herself. 'Must be nice to be so smart'.
Idly the girl stretches and runs her fingers through her short red hair. "I should get home soon. Mom is going to want this bread so she can finish dinner. Plus Ryuto likes to sneak into my room when I'm not home. Guess I'll have to go beat him up again." She giggles a little.
Honoka Yukishiro blinks. "Hmmmmmm. Pirates or ninjas? I might have a biography of Blackbeard in my room..." she muses. "But most ninja stories I've encountered were just fiction so I haven't bothered with them." She raises an eyebrow. "I believe you challenged me to learn how to 'goof off?" she asks Nagisa. "How owuld one start?"
Haruna Kurosawa beams. "If you have to go it's fine! Corvus is probably so stuffed I'll have to bake him." Corvus rolls his eyes. He gets the joke. "So it's fine~" she grins. She cleans up her spot and sweeps crumbs into her napkin as she begins to get up and begins to throw things into the trash.
She sits back down with Honoka as she sips her milk which she still has.
"Ninjas were totally real." she insists.
This may or may not be true.
Nagisa Misumi laughs and turns her attention back to Honoka, "You really wanna learn to goof off?" She asks in a playful tone. Of course she does need to get home soon but, This is just too important. A teenage girl not knowing how to goof off? Its TRAGIC!
She walks towards Honoka, "Well you could come along with me and I can show you how I do it. Also fighting with my little brother counts as goofing off most of the time! He deserves it though."
She turns her attention to Haruna and nods, "Ninjas were totally real! Just umm Not like in the movies. Don't ask how I know that." She blushes.
"So anyway Lacrosse! Its wicked fun and you should definitely try it out." She gives a little smile.
Honoka Yukishiro nods. "I am not disputing the potential reality of ninjas. I dispute the portrayal in almost any work as unreasonable or total fabrication." She shrugs. "I do not have time to play a sport. With my studies, my science club, and everything. I am reasonably fit, but I am not in the peak condition one would need to be a worthy competetor at an athletic event. Nor do I have the time to attain such high physical fitness levels. But sure, I can follow you. But I think inviting someone over you just met today for dinner would be quite strange, and realtively soon I have to go home too to feed Chuutaro and help Grandma make dinner."
Haruna Kurosawa crosses her arms. "We-well! Still. I bet they're still real in some fashion!" she insists.
She looks over and nods. "I wasn't in a club until I got into kickboxing. It's really fun! I can really sock someone now if I wanted!" she beams.
Corvus sort of wing-facepalms.
"Wait- I mean. I don't /want/ to sock anyone! But..!" she sort of blushes and huffs.
"So..Lacrosse. huh. What is it anyways? Throwing a ball around with a mitt on a stick...?" she asks.
Nagisa Misumi smiles and picks up her stick. Its a typical lacrosse stick. long white with a semi tight net at one end. "This is a lacrosse stick. You use for everything you do with the ball. You can catch with it, you can run with it, you can even throw with it but you can't touch it with your hands. The goal is to get the ball past the other team and into the other teams goal. There are several periods in a game and the winner is the team who scores the most points. You have to work as a team though to win."
Then she smiles a little, "Oh Ninjas were real. They just didn't wear all black. That was a theater thing. People wearing black are were there to move scenery and stuff so they'd be ignored. When there were ninjas, they did them up like that so people would ignore them until they did whatever they were doing." She smiles a little. "I watched a tv show on it once!"
She turns to Honoka, "I didn't say come home with me silly! Just walk with me. I can show you how to goof off a little!"
Honoka Yukishiro nods. "Lacrosse is a similar kind of game to hockey. Though the two games have vasty different origins, in modern paly they are very similar. Two teams, using an instrument to control a small object, and the goal is to score goals by shooting the object into the net. Even the penalty system is the same with a penalized player going to the penalty box, creating a power play situation, though I do not believe lacrosse uses that terminology very much." She glances at Nagisa and Haruna. "Alright. I'll follow you." She gets out her cellphone and dials up her grandma, then softly explains that she'll be a bit late coming home - hanging out with friends. She nods as she hangs up. "Alright. I'm good."
Haruna Kurosawa softly smiles. "I'll let you two do your thing, Imma gonna go home then and bug my sister until she wakes up from her nap." she says softly as she stands up. "Be well!~" she sings out as she makes sure her spot is clean---
And then she spins and offfff out the door she is. Zoooom~
Nagisa Misumi smiles and leads the way out the door. "The first step in goofing off is things don't have to make sense. You don't need to do anything. JUst let yourself be happy." With that she hops up on a bench and walks to the edge, being careful not to lose her balance.
Happily she jumps down and just smiles, "Why walk on a bench? There is no point in it. Its just being silly. Its goofing off."
Honoka Yukishiro raises an eyebrow. "Just to clarify, you did say 'bench' and not 'beach', correct?" she asks. "Walking on a bench would just make it dirty for the next person who wants to sit on it." Apparently Honoka doesn't get it yet. "So are you saying that 'goofing off' is wasting time by doing activities that have no real purpose?" she asks blankly.
Nagisa Misumi nods, "And having fun doing it." She leads on, this time playing a little game as she goes. She is intentionally not stepping on cracks. "Step on a crack and you break your mother's back?" She asks curiously to see if maybe Honoka gets that. "Come on, Every kid has done that one!" She comments as she keeps going.
Honoka Yukishiro shrugs, eyebrow raised, as she dodges. "Oh right - but I wish I could see my mom more often..." she muses as she doesn't step on the cracks either. But she manages to maintain a steady walking speed.
Nagisa Misumi blinks, "Haven't you ever gone to the arcade and just played a few games for the fun of it. Or gone window shopping. Just watched TV or something?" The girl smiles a little. "If not I feel really bad for you and we are going to need much more then a walk home to help you out with this one. "
Honoka Yukishiro shrugs. "I do watch television - mostly the news and the Discovery channel. After I do all my homework, of course, and read a book." She shrugs. "I have a goal and I've alwasy been driven towards it. I just want my parents to be proud of me. They're never around. I only see them like once a year." She sighs. "'Goofing off' is a detriment to my ambitions." She thinks. "But the old saying 'all work and no play makes Honoka a dull girl'... well, from all the fan mail I get, that doesn't seem to be teh case eitehr..."
Nagisa Misumi smiles, "I get fan mail too, Most of mine from girls who wanna be like me which is cool. Though sometimes I wish a guy would send me fan mail. Anyway its okay to goof off sometimes. You can really get yourself sick if you keep going non-stop without a rest. Its why we don't have super long practices in Lacrosse! Its hard to focus on stuff if that is all you do." She beams a little. "Oh in walking with me, you're goofing off."
Honoka Yukishiro blinks. "I am simply pacing my stride to avoid the cracks between the sidewalk panels. It is an interesting way to try a pacing," she muses, and then yelps as she sees an unscheduled crack and inelegantly jumps to dodge it. "So what do you normally do after practice?"
"Oh usually I hang out with my friends, Go home, eat dinner, sleep. That is pretty normal but sometimes... OH I know! Lets go visit Akane! She has a donut cart called the Tako Cafe and its not far from here. She is really cool. She graduated from Verone and decided she was going to go into business. She is one of my friends. Though I sorta help keep her in business!" She laughs a little.
Honoka Yukishiro raises an eyebrow. "I have seen her cart a few times but I noramlly eat healthier than that." She shrugs as she follows her redheaded companion, still maintaining an even gait to avoid the cracks between the sidewalk. "I have not met this Akane. But a former Verone girl can't be a bad thing."
Nagisa Misumi quickly leads the way to the donut stand. Its still open of course. Akane would go out of business if she closed before the sun set. So happily she steps up to the window and smiles bright, "Hey Akane-san! How are you this evening? Is everything good?" She asks, authentically curious about her much older friend.
Well, talking about notorious Verone girls. Tsubasa Kazanari comes hobbling into the place, using a pair of crutches to help herself move. The idol has been back to class since this week, though only half days. She seems to be looking for a table to claim for herself.
Honoka Yukishiro is just following after her friend, but keeps back as Nagisa goes to talk to her. She just lets Nagisa and Akane catch up first.
Akane smiles as she looks at Nagisa. "Ah, my favorite customer. How is lacrosse practice going, Nagisa-chan?" asks the energetic shopkeep. She then glances at the dark-haired girl. "Who's that? A new friend? She doens't seem your type."
Well, talking about cats...
A cat appears, sitting on one of the empty tables, cleaning itself. It looks exactly as in-place (or out of place) as a cat cleaning itself in an eating establishment would be.
In real life, a mystery and an enigma. Around here? It may be business as usual. Outside, a tall girl in the Infinity uniform walks around with a slightly annoyed and frantic air about her, as she crosses the street and calls out silently, through the door.
The cat almost looks smug about this whole situation.
Nagisa Misumi laughs a little, "Oh this is Honoka Yukishiro! She's in my class. She is unique! She's really smart and stuff. I'm just trying to teach her how to goof off a little." She beams playfully. "Lacrosse is going great. We are so going to take down Infinity U next week. I can't wait!" She quickly sets down some yen, "Could I get some of your donuts! They are sooo yummy!"
Nagisa is so worked up and excited as she talks to her ne friend and her olfer friend that she doesn't really notice the new arrivals. She could potentially recognize Tsubasa but odds are, not. She definitely wouldn't recognize the woman or the cat. Not unless they play lacrosse.
Honoka Yukishiro murmurs, "Hello, Sempai," to Tsubasa as she is near the area. She approaches the cart. "Hello, Akane-san," she states. "I will buy a takoyaki," she notes, putting a neatly-stacked set of coins up as currency. Upon receipt, she nods. "Thank you," she states as she eats like a lady.
Akane just watches after finishing the transaction. "She's your friend? But she's not a sporty type. I know the sporty types - there's a refreshing air of bluntness to us. She's acting like a lady and... who gives EXACT CHAGNE these days?" she asks, bemused by that. She glances over. "Hey! Want some treats?" she hollers towards Tsubasa, then glances at the cat, making sure he's not getting too close.
"Uh... who were you again?" Tsubasa asks Honoka, not because she's being mean but well, she honestly can't keep track of all her underclassmen; there's so many of those. She leans on her crutches as she tries to decide on a treat to buy. "Uh. I'll take this." She points at one of the blandest least interesting donuts on the menu, and counts out exact change.
She isn't paying any attention to the cat, or the girls who haven't talking to her.
Jun sighs and shakes her head, fingers splayed across her brow in consternation as she approaches. Her calls, which had been audible to those outside, had been a confusing mix of animal-come-here toned calls of 'dummyyyyy!' and 'uselessss!'. It gave her an awkward air, as if she was hunting for a particularly disliked pet... or, well, a boyfriend? Some people may give her looks, but she was way over the whole situation. Coming to a stop near the injured girl and her conversational partners, she put on her best smile. "Hey. Have you all... seen a cat? I guess you'd have a hard time recognizing him by that description... Um... A /really smug/ cat?"
She looks at the cart. "Oooh, Etsu would love this stuff. /Fresh/ Takoyaki." She ruminates, as her smile withers.
"I guess 'smug cat' is not a very good descriptor, as its a cat, but, maybe 'archtypically smug' may help? A cat you look at and go 'dang, that is one smug cat'."
Nagisa Misumi smiles to Akane and just laughs a little. "Told you she's a weird one!" She giggles a little and turns her attention to the other girl sporting a Verone uniform. "Hello Sempai." She states as the woman is a bit older then her and probably in a higher class then her. Thats when she spies the cat.
As if on cute, Jun comesin looking for a cat. Nagisa gives her a smile. "A very smug cat? I think that one there might fit the bill. It looks pretty smug anyway." She laughs and points towards the feline.
Honoka Yukishiro nods. "Cats always seem to display a superior attitude," she muses. "I'm more of a dog person. I've had long talks with Chuutaro, my golden retriever." She glances over toawrds the smug cat who continues his business in defiance of his owner's arrival. "I always thought that cats think they are the masters of the universe and we are their servants."
Akane just smiles. "Yes - I've never seen a cat quite that smug." She takes Tsubasa's order for plain donuts. "Yes, it's as fresh as possible - I locally source all of my products," she says to Jun. "Two orders of takoyaki for you?" she asks.
Jun nods to Nagisa, before turning her eyes like a baleful horror movie character towards the Smug Cat. Nagisa has SOLD YOU OUT, CAT!
The catte goes from spooked to frozen mid-pawlick, as Jun storms off into the store, throws open the door, and scruffs the cat, returning to the takoyaki stand with cat hugged firmly in her arms. "Thanks a lot." She grins to Nagisa, the cat giving the helpful girl a Look. It knows. You /sold him out/.
"Dogs are great too. I love all animals! Except useless here, who is a huge pain. Thankfully, at least this cat knows who is the master when it counts." Akane, the shopkeep asks if she wants two orders and she shakes her head. "Just one, please! My friends went on a trip. I think they went to America for... Ee-vo? I don't know. They were really excited to go."
Tsubasa flat-out ignores the matter of 'smug cats and other assorted pets' grabbing her doughnout and taking a bite out of the thing. She turns towards Honoka and Nagisa, and repeats her earlier question. "What were your names again?" Despite not being able to keep track of all her Kohai, she's still /trying/
Nagisa Misumi blushes, "Oh Umm, I thought everyone at school knew me. I'm Nagisa Misumi. I play Lacrosse. Nice to meet you in person, Sempai." She doesn't know that Tsubasa is a famous singer. Just that they go to the same school.
Then she turns to Jun and smiles a little. "No problem. I wouldn't want to lose a pet if I had one. That would be really horrible." Even as the cat gives the death stare to her, she leans towards Honoka, "I don't think that cat likes me much."
Honoka Yukishiro murmurs, "I am Honoka Yukishiro, in the science club, sempai," she states, smiling as she finishes her takoyaki. She glances at the girl with the cat. "That cat just does NOT like you," she muses softly.
Akane makes the order of takoyaki for Jun and collects the money for it. She hmmmmmmmms. "So, Nagisa, if you ever need extra training..."
"Well, thanks for the assist all the same." Jun admits, as she pays for the takoyaki from a pocket, her other arm firmly around smugcatte. "I don't think I go to the same school than you all, but I'm Jun. It's nice to meet you all. This is... Uh, let's call him Grumpy." She hoists 'Grumpy' up, before accepting delicious takoyaki. Juggling cat and octopus ball will be hard, but she will perservere, for she is the defender of--
"I go to Infinity... Which is obvious, because I'm wearing the uniform." She sounds a little exasperated at herself. "The cat likes you about as much as he likes anyone. He's grumpy because I fell asleep and didn't refill his water. And another thing, but, well, that's not precisely my fault! How do you enjo your, ah, clubs?" She asks.
The crutches thing calls her attention, but she tactically eats takoyaki instead of going 'OH HEY SO HOW DID YOU GET CRIPPLED'
"Tsubasa Kazanari, nice to meet you." The idol introduces herself, a famous J-pop singer; though of course not everyone is into J-pop. "As you can presumably tell by my uniform, I go to Verone." Like her kohai, but she doesn't mention that, at all. "I don't have time for clubs, so I'm not in one to have any enjoyment out of them."
Nagisa just looks to Honoka. For all her faults, she at least isn't about to call out someone on crutches as a cripple. That is a high level of Tacky there. She shakes it off quickly, "Err Umm... Oh right! Lacrosse! That would be awesome! More training is always cool right?" She asks softly.
She looks over to Tsubasa. Part of her wants to go all fangirl but she doesn't. She simply frowns, "Sorry, Sempai."
Then to Jun as she asks about clubs, "I am in Verone's Lacrosse Club! I'm their star player." She states with a wink and a boat load of pride.
Honoka Yukishiro raises an eyebrow, shaking her head and facepalming at Jun's comments. She turns her attentino back to Tsubasa and nods. "Ah, I thought I recognized you, Sempai. I miss Zwei Wing. I have one of your solo albums though - sometimes I play them when I'm reading history books to keep my attention focused. Peppy music is sometimes a good thing. Well, I've kept Grandma weaiting long enough - I have to go home now. She's there all by herself." She bows to everyone and then trots off.
"Weird girl, Nagi-chan," Akane murmurs. "Doens't seem your type, y'know?" She glances around as she turns her back on the others to straighten up in her cart before another customer comes.
