Hoshi got hit pretty hard by that strange man. Kukai thought she was dead even! Luckily, her koi know better. Reiko just couldn't DO anything to help then and they lost the eggs. She wonders what'll happen to them. Did someone seriously straight up loose thier dreams? It's not a comforting thought.
What is comforting that Hoshi is now in a hospital bed! Reiko has been sitting by it with worry, sort of biting her lip and waiting for her to wake up.
She has been here mostly since she brought her in, it's only been a few hours though- and at least it's a private hospital room.
She knows Hoshi will be okay though! She went through this before too!
Hoshi stirs. The first sign is a slow turning of her head, then the girl's arms moving to stretch, then an audible wince, and then she opens her eyes. "Ow." She spots Reiko right away, blinking once or twice, "... hey Reiko. What'd you do to me?" Even though she's obviously in pain, she's also obviously joking, which is presumably a good sign.
Reiko Touyama has that look of worry on her face and she's looking down- but when Hoshi stirs and wakes up, her mood perks up suddenly! She smiles wide! "Hoshi-chan, you're awake!" she beams. She huffs. "No, that... jerk in the mask hurt you bad." she says with a frown and she slumps. "I didn't know someone so powerful was going to be there..." she admits.
She smiles wryly. "Don't worry, Griselda put me in the hospital before too with a broken arm and a leg and I was drowsy due to hitting my head on concrete." she says.
"You'll heal fast..." she smiles and reaches to take Hoshi's hand. "No worries okay-- though... they got away with what they were after." she admits sheepishly.
Hoshi giggles when Reiko huffs like that, though this is followed up by an immediate wince, like it hurts a bit to giggle. "I knew there was going to be risks when I accepted the crystal." Hoshi mentions, and she doesn't sound too upset, "Roy and Biv made sure to mention that. I'm not going to back out because I bit off a little more than I could chew."
"Have you ever drawn yourself as you'd look when every single bit of you was in a cast? I think that'd look funny." She flat-out ignores anything that acknowledges this could even be not okay, she's okay, and the eggs... there's no sense crying over spilt milk.
Reiko Touyama acks!? "Why would I draw that!?" she does giggle though when it becomes clear Hoshi is joking. She still sighs. "I know, but it still stinks to see you in a hospital like this. I haven't called your Dad yet, I try not to call parents until... well. You know what you want to tell them..." she says.
"The usual excuse is- a car hit or grazed you. That's bought a lot. You could also say you fell from a high place." she looks down.
"It stinks lying, doesn't it?" she says meekly. "But it's something you gotta do because the alternative is looking crazy. I don't think 'Dad, I'm a magical girl and I'm in the hospital because a guy in weird garb reaved me with a scythe' is gonna go over well." she giggles a bit.
She looks down. "Kukai was bringing me those eggs to heal them--- which our color energy can do." she says meekly. "Um... Kukai kind of. Yelled out your name when you fell unconcious-- um. Your real name. I don't think anyone heard but-- it was just a first name. I didn't know you knew Kukai like that!" she says wide eyed.
"I'd had invited you along from the get go then! See---"
"I'm thinking that-- joining this organization he's a part of might be a good idea- but---"
"I think we can talk about that later." she nods curtly.
"Just tell him I saw a kitten on the middle of the road and I got hit while dashing back to the sidewalk carrying the kitten to safety?" Hoshi suggests what to tell her dad, "He wouldn't believe me to have gotten hit otherwise, I'm always very careful and he knows it."
She then says, quite softly, "Everyone has secrets, Reichan, and sometimes you need to tell a little white lie to keep them secret. As long as you don't do it to hurt people, it's fine. Everyone does it."
She reaches out for a hug, "And I kind of mentioned it when Kukai-san and I met Rena-san. She could see my stars and Daichi and didn't" she does say didn't, not doesn't, "have any magic of her own, so we promised to help her if she got in any trouble."
Reiko Touyama nods. "That works. As long as it's beliveable. I'm lucky because Grandpa can see my koi and I bet he'll see your stars-- and Grandpa covers for me to mom and dad when they bother to ask when a hospital bill comes in." she giggles a bit.
"I dunno why my grandpa can see my koi but I about turned white when he asked me about them finally. He'd been seeing them floating around the house forever and thought he was goin crazy!" she giggles insanely. "Until he saw me scold one when I thought he wasn't looking. Then he figured it out." she sighs a bit.
She nods and gently refrains from giving Hoshi a hug-- not wanting to hurt her- but she smiles. "I'd give ya a hug if I knew it wouldn't hurt or sting." she smirks. "But I know it hurts."
She nods. "Rena-san..? Oh you met the weird girl who can see my koi-- so she can see your stars and Daichi too. Yeah. I wonder what's up with that..." she thinks softly. She doens't catch the tense of didn't.
She wilts. "It's strange when people who aren't magical girls can see your magical things. It's hard to explain. Like she was sitting there insisting she wasn't seeing magic koi but she was." she giggles.
"And even though it hurts, it still soothes. I can take it." Hoshi keeps reaching out for that hug, clearly not wanting to take no for an answer with that. If Reiko doesn't yet know what Rena has gained since then, Hoshi isn't going to reveal it for her, that would be rude.
"Have you met many people who can? I mean beyond the one I know about." She asks softly, using the singular to again instinctively exclude Rena from that count. "It seems she'd gotten a little more used to it when she met Kukai and me."
Reiko Touyama sighs. "Well Grandpa.. Rena... a girl I know, Madoka Kaname, can see the magic stuff..." she doesn't know Madoka is a magical girl yet, of course!. "I asked about it once and I think it has to do with someone's.... potential?" she asks. "Like..."
"If they have the power but nothing that lets them use it-- I mean..."
"I couldn't see any of this until I got my Prism." she says. "--and-- it's really weird-- isn't it?" she asks Hoshi.
Oh, and Hoshi gets a hug! A big one!~ But not too tight~
"I guess some people's potential are all locked up... while others might get out- but they don't have anything-- like-- our Prisms, or a fairy like one of the Guardians to-- to do anything with it." she says.
"Does that make sense? Like having a fresh jar of paint that's open, but no brush to use it!" she says.
And after the hug, Hoshi lets go, leaning back in her bed. "I guess it does. Maybe that's why my crystal didn't react until that night? My jar was still closed so even though the brush was there, it couldn't get to the paint. You need both paint and a brush to make a painting, after all."
Then, she yawns, and this in turn causes a wince. "Thanks for being here, Reichan." Her eyes close, though she isn't sleeping, yet. "I'm getting kinda tired, though."
Reiko Touyama nods. "Okay, I'll tell the nurses to call your parents then now, too." she says softly. "I'll stay here until they come.." she smiles wide. "I know it stinks being alone even if you're sleeping after a battle like that. I know I hate it." she admits sheepishly.
"Just lay back and go to sleep~" she smiles a bit. "Good night, Hoshi-chan~" she beams~
