Reiko Touyama was one of three people who offered to help iventory art supplies in the art club. Aswell, the Swimming Club needed help setting up and cleaning the bleachers for an exhibition tommrow and Kaeru Aokawa was helping the Swim Team with that.
Overall this was really boring work.
Then something happened.
In the Pool Area in the Gymnasium, there is a small quake and then some sort of power arcs through the area--- washing over it- it's dark. skeevy feeling. People around Kaeru begin falling down in an energy drain. It washes over her and she, for some reason, is able to resist it-- a benefit of having some sort of potential- it lets you resist the drain.
Likewise, around Reiko, her two clubmates passou as well as the teacher!?
"Sensei!?" she calls out and she looks around as she suddenly screams out--- oww- holy---!!! Her Chroma Prism burns---- and then Roy appears quickly opening a window.
"Reiko!" says the british accented cardinal. "Something really dangerous is happening, come on!" he said worriedly.
Reiko nods, right! "Chroma Prism Orange, Transform!" calls out Reiko. The transformation happens in an orange flash-- and Prism Keeper Orange takes Reiko's place.
She pushes off her feet and hovers through the school.
"Roy what is this..." she asked the bird on her shoulder.
"I don't know." said Roy. "But I sense an incoming Shade."
"Ugh.. right where..."
Roy hopped off the shoulder and led the way-- down the hall....
Kaeru Aokawa hums happily as she was cleaning the bleachers for the pool. The pool cleaner's in place as she was scrubbing happily, humming happily after a great practice run. "Alright, let's try harder next time - I bet we can beat the times today," she cooos to a few of her friends as she finshes sweeping the bleachers. "A banana peel, really?" she comments to one of her teammates who giggles..
Then... everything went smoggy. Dark. Kaeru felt dizzy and leaned against a wall - and she watches, helplessly, as all of her friends just collapsed. She kent down by one of them. "Hey, Kaida-chan, what's wrong?" she whispers, shaking her, but to no effect.
Still feeling queasy, but the only one alert around, she looks around. She leaves the pool and starts looking around, seeing the sky dark, and a few other people completely passed out. She just shinvers. " What's going on?" she whines. "I don't like this..."
Kaeru leaves the pool area--- as she does, something like a shadow passes suddenly over her, and everyone else---- then there's a sudden flare of color as color begins to leech off everything-- the grass, the trees, the school wall---- the epicenter seems to be in the Gymnaisum, if Kaeru were to head backwards- she'd see that there's something like a brilliant ball of color forming over the pool...
For some reason, in the back of Kaeru's head, something is familar about this.
Then there's a splash of water upwards as it begins to twist and turn--almost more like a gel than chorlornated water as the gray translucent liquid forms around the ball of color---- a humanoid being of some sort taking shape-- with something like a tail and two spindly weird water arms-- protecting the color in it's murk.
"'OOL!" yells the creature. Ool. A missing P in 'Pool'.
For a moment it begins to see out Kaeru--- just for a moment--- before it turns it's attention back towards the double doors-- where Prism Keeper Orange crashes through in an undramatic manner because it's just double doors. Roy flutters off high into the beams over the Gymnaisum.
"Oh come on..." says Orange.
She doesn't see Kaeru yet. To Kaeru, this isn't Reiko. But it's a very very familar Prism Keeper Orange. Just as Reiko drew it.
"This isn't the source of the disturbance but we need to handle it anyways!" calls out Roy.
"Yeah I know, Roy!" she calls out as she flutters upwards. She looks around. Ugh. Everyone's already out. Besides...
Besides... Kaeru? She blinks rapidly. Oh no, she thinks. The look of uncertainty on her face is palpable as she looks back to the creature.
"Okay big guy...let's see what you got..." she says.
Kaeru Aokawa just feels the disturbance, turns, and looks... as the entire pool area is being leeched of color. Like some kind of old television show, everything's becoming monochromatic, even the people. Only Kaeru herself seems to be unaffected. This seems so weird and eerily familiar. Like in those make-believe games she played with some other girls.
The monster, yelling 'OOL' - yeah, no 'p' in the pool, starts to look at her as she was about to hop to it and take off when... an orange girl came in. Bright orange. Kaeru just blinks, speechless. A character from a fantasy game just stepped into real life in front of her - and her jaw dropped. "Prism... Keeper Orange... how... what...?" She just blinkblinks.
Prism Keeper Orange for all intents and purposes, looks exactly like the character from the make belive game, and there's a color draining enemy and Kaeru is pretty sure this is exactly what a Shade is. "Stay down!" She calls out to Kaeru. For now, the creature seems obsessed with the orange girl-- staring at a moment before it screams out... "Oollllll!" and sends two big water tendrils flying out toward's Orange-- who quickly dashes to the right and begins leading it along.
She turns around and hrmphs! She fires a bolt of color energy from her wand!-----
And the creature contorts a hole in itself that the beam passes through cleanly without affect. "W..wha!?" says Orange---
It catches her off guard enough that one of those tendrils hit home crashing her against the wall---"Nrg...!" she struggles.
"Orange!" calls out Roy.
She struggles a bit. She manages to get out a few more good blasts of energy--- it does the contortion thing again, before one blast hits home, causing the creature to finally release orange and she falls straight down to the ground. She has to catch her wind. "Darn... this one's tricky..." she mutters.
Roy looks worried. Orange hates when Roy looks worried. Because the last time he looked worried and one of the others from the game was present...
Kaeru Aokawa slithers under the bleachers - glad she just swept under there, and watches. Prism Keeper Orange fighting something that HAS to be a Shade. If the Prism Keepers are here, that means this has to be one of those color-leeching monsters, a Shade. But a tricky one. She slithers down the bleachers till she's on the bottom row of seats as she watches.
Then the 'Ool' catches Orange! She watches, not sure what to do, when the thing manages to snag Orange, squeeze her a bit, and then a few blasts makes her let go. "You ok?" she whispers as she dares to slip out, and tries to pull Orange farther from the pool. "I... I dont' know what to do... how can all this be really happening?" she murmurs as she is ready to slide back under the bleachers if necessary.
Prism Keeper Orange is grabbed by Kareu...."Ka-chan---I mean..um... look just--just stay hidden!" she says as she tugs out of Kareu's grip. Ka-chan? Is Orange someone Kaeru knows? She doesn't /look/ like someone Kareu knows.
"J--just stay here!" she says as she flies back out before Ool decides it's a good idea to start attacking the bleachers that Kareu is hiding under. She doesn't want her to be a target.
Roy decides now's a good time to slide underneath the bleachers after Kaeru. Roy is a red cardinal. Also familar in that strange way. "I know how you can help..." says Roy.
Oh it's a good thing Orange is too busy firing beams of color frutilessly at this contortionist Shade-- else she'd have words for Roy right now.
"Ool!" screams the Shade.
Orange can't win this alone, that much is clear at the moment. This thing is...trickier than expected. She can't keep it pinned by herself.
Kaeru Aokawa nods. "Good idea..." she murmurs, seeing all the damage that Ool is doing. She slithers back under the bleachers, being very quiet, and hoping that she's not a frog in a pot that's slowly being turned on to boil. She just watches as Orange... flies to the other side of the room. Hmmmmm. She doesn't remember flying being part of the game.
Then... a red talking bird hops under the bleacher with her and just starts talking. She blinks. "Well - that would make you Roy..." she murmurs. "But what can I do? I can't fly - or shoot color beams - or whatever. I'm just a scared little girl who wants to go home and hug my mommy and my froggies..."
Prism Keepers have fairy wings! Just maybe actually flying wasn't part of the game. Still, Orange is doing all she can-- but Ool keeps screaming it's name and keeps contorting--- sometimes Orange hits but she isn't hitting enough to matter. "Nrg..." she mutters.
She tries aiming directly for that translucent orb she can see through the liquid of the Shade, but /it/ moves.
"Darnit!" screams Orange.
Then it lashes out again and this time Orange isn't getting away---her arms and pinned. Another tendril comes slamming down for Orange and she shrieks out--
"Ool!" screams the Shade.
Roy continues talking to Kaeru. "You can help her... but it's dangerous. You shouldn't make this decision lightly." says Roy softly. Roy digs his head into the bag and comes out with a translucent crystal a prism-- with a blue core. It isn't shining, yet. Kaeru knows what this is, it's a Chroma Prism. A blue one?
Roy waits for Kaeru to either take it or reject it. When she takes it.. "Alright...." says Roy solemly, the choice is made.
""Awaken, Prism Keeper Blue!" he calls out. The Prism begins to glow and shine, filling with the color blue completely-- Kareu can feel the power surge----!
Kaeru Aokawa cries out - but tries to muffle it, as she sees the heroic Orange not handle the situation well and get attacked by the tentacles, and finally get subdued. "I... I have no choice. I can't just sit here and watch her get hurt... I know this is probably some messed-up dream but... when I played at this game we all looked out for each other - and now... I will do it for reals." She then takes the prism. And suddenly it begins to glow blue. Bright shining blue. "So pretty..." she murmurs. And by instinct, she slides out of the bleachers, holds up the prism, and yells, "Chroma Prism Blue, Transform!"
Blue light engulfs Kaeru as she transforms and ends up being Prism Keeper Blue. She is wearing a somewhat-silly-looking blue frog hat, wtih elbow-length gloves with webbed fingers, boots - and a strange dress that looks like it's made for swimming in. "Ummmm... Roy... what do I do?" she whispers as she's holding a wand. She shakes the wand and points it at Ool and it fires a bright blue beam at the monster, aiming for the tentacle that's pinning Orange down! "Oh... neat..."
Orange falls down to the ground as Blue blasts the tendril that's keeping her pinned to the wall and she lands on her knees... was that... a blast of Blue color energy? Oh--- she's going to /bake/ Roy when she gets her hands on that bird. Stuff him and bake him..."No---" she sputters.
Ugh she's too weak to pull off a strong purification attack but this thing is barely weakened anyways. Nrrrg---
She raises her Chroma Wand and fires off a rapid series of orange magical koi that swim through the air and aim to hone in on various parts of the creature and they swim through holes it creates-----only for them to double back and try again. Most hit home---but each isn't a powerful pop of color energy but it does cause the creature to yell out. "Oooooool!"
It slams down it's snake like tail towards Orange but she dives out of the way in time on her fairy wings.
"Nrg... Blue..." she mutters.
"I'm sorry..." she says. "You weren't supposed to be... dragged into this..." she mutters helplessly.
"...Please -- just-- let let your instincts guide you, you remember the game right!? It's like that just.. do that! Pretend the wand is like.. the sticks we used..." she mutters.
Yeah, Orange is definitly someone Blue knows.
Prism Keeper Blue glances over at Orange. "We'll discuss this later - if I recall from the game, we can combine our powers for a more powerful blast - but... we have to weaken it first. Hmmmm. I have an idea. Keep it distracted up here if you can!" she chirps. She wiggles her wand and creates some blue frogs that jump up and slam into the monster and detonate - and she oh so quietly slips into the pool while it was focusing on the attacks.
<<Wow, it's so much easier to hold my breath than normal...>> she thinks to herself as she moves very quietly - gets right under the monster - clutches her wand, points it straight up - and fires a blue blast straight up - hopefully she would've surprised the thing. Her underwater breath-holding endurance seems to be magically amplified. she hopes she'll do some damage. But she's going to have words with Orange when this is over - obviously Orange knows her. She is going by instinct, but water is her element.
Prism Keeper Orange nrgs. "I don't have the energy for that, you have to... purify it yourself, Blue..." she mutters... oh god, Roy is nowhere to be found he may be hiding under the bleachers now. The Shade is beset with koi and frogs and the creatures of the water managed to hit home and it cries out in 'pain'--- "Oolllllllll!" it cries out.
"No--now!" she sttuters. "Blue do it now!" she calls out, hoping the girl can hear her underwater-- as attacks slam up into it from underneath the turbluent water the creature is made of.
She waits for Blue to use her 'Prism Aegis Power' while she sort of falls on her butt. Come on Blue, she thinks, you can do this, you remember the game you should know what to do- she says as she grips her arm in pain.
Prism Keeper Blue creates a few more frogs to distract Ool. This isn't working, and Orange doesn't have the strength to help. She'll have to purify the thing by herself A few frogs were spawned as more and more form around the pool until the pool is surrounded as they will dodge any attacks. Then Blue rises up, her head surfacing as three frogs jump on her - head and shoulders. She takes a deep breath and then yells, "Prism Aegis Power! Blue Froggy Serenade!" And as one, she and the dozens of frogs emit a massive RIBBIT, buffeting Ool from all sides - and then they all inhale and do it again! A second blast of magical music erupts from Blue and her slimy army.
'Ool' gets buffeted by purifying frog song---causing it to yell out--- but almost soothingly---as the orb inside is rended from the creature and---- then it dissapates-- water raining down hard from the beast as it turns back to just water.
The ball of color hovers there-- as Orange raises her wand in her kneeling prose and beckons it over to her wand's tip...
"Chroma Palatte... Cleanser!" she calls out. There's a burst of white light--- as the orb of color explodes and--- color returns back to the area and the people-- who are still drained and unconcious because it isn't the Shade that drained them completely.
"Nrg.." mutters Orange.
"Darnit.." she mutters as she peeks up at Blue.
"That thing took advantage. Something else is going on..." she mutters.
Prism Keeper Blue slides out of the pool and shakes herself off and jumps over to Orange. "Yeah - there was a wave of darkness that washed over everything. It made me nauseous but everyone else passed out - several minutes after that did the Shade show up." She smiles faintly. "Thanks for your help, Roy," she coooos as she holds her hand up for the red bird to fly over to land on. "I... I couldn't bear to see a Prism Keeper get hurt like that." She hmmmmmms. "So - now what? Shall we see what's going on?" she asks. "How... how did I do?" she asks cuirously, clicking her tongue as the three frogs that were on her head and shoulders stay there, ribbiting softly at Orange. "And... who are you, if I can ask?" she asks softly. "This is so... weird. All the stuff from the game I played as a kid, coming to life. Shades. Prism Keepers. Roy. I bet there's even a Griselda, huh?"
Prism Keeper Orange blinks. "Who am I?" she asks. "Isn't it obvious, Ka-chan?..." she asks meekly. "I'm Reiko..." she says softly as she looks down.. "Ugh... Mei is gonna kill me when she gets back. She didn't want to wake up anymore Prism Keepers... but so far two others have. You... n' Yellow..." she mutters.
"Ugh I'm a terrible leader." she says looking up with a meek smile.
She manages to push herself up slowly. "Something else is happening. It was strong, hit me like a brick..." she mutters.
"Yeah.. there's a Griselda and a Grey Kingdom-- a Roy and a Biv and a Gigi and a Miss White and a Mister Black..." she mutters.
She sighs a bit. "I'm really sorry you got pulled into this..." she says looking down.
Prism Keeper Blue blinks. "I'm not," she states. "This is awesome," she chirps. "I mean - I was down underwater for like 5 minutes and didn't even feel like I was straining for breath," she muses as she bounces around happily, able to jump pretty far. "But yeah - let's go find out. And Reiko?" She gives Orange a hug - Blue's still a bit wet from her time in the pool. "Let's find out what's going on - there are people passed out all over the place and I don't think our gray friends had much to do with it..." She bounces towards the door.
Prism Keeper Orange sighs and just tries to cheer up but Blue has a point..."Right..let's go!..." she says as she follows best she can, ow god she hurts all over.
A koi appears trailing first aid tape after it chasing Orange as she follows out the door!
