It's a cold, dark evening in the little park near the harbour. Utau's not sure why she came here, except perhaps that it held some nostalgia for her. In happier times, she and her brother and Tadase would come here often to play and listen to Ikuto's violin music as Utau sang along with a golden voice even at that young age.
Right now, she's feeling lonely as she swings on the lone swing in a totally empty playground. Iru sits in her cupped hands, also looking worried. Afterall, Eru is gone, maybe even dead..And so is Kukai.
To be honest, Utau had mentionned her concerns about Kukai going off to fight some big bad to Eru, but had been too embarrassed to say it out loud. She never expected Eru to actually go off and help him, for her sake, but she had.
As Utau looks north, she can see, in the distance, the faintest of lights. It must be something so far away as to be indistinct. As she watches through the night sky of the city, she can see a shooting star crossing the sky as well.
Wait. There's multiple shooting stars. A dozen, two dozen, maybe more. And one of them seems to be glowing brighter and brighter as it zips, if not straight for her, then very nearby, towards Tokyo Harbor! Others zip past, and she can sense the magic within them - the most powerful magic she's ever felt. There's no crash as the light lands just up the street from Utau and shimmers. Does she dare get closer?
Utau just happens to gaze up at the nightsky at that particular moment, wondering what might be going on in that dark kingdom, if Eru had at least found Kukai and if he'd managed to keep her safe..Or vice versa..
Suddenly, numerous shooting stars dart across the sky, lighting up the darkness. She shivers then, not from the cold, but from the sense of incredible magic she feels as they fly by. "What is this..X-eggs?" She murmurs. But no, the feeling is different. Perhaps the Embryo would be this powerful, but even it is not so numerous, no, this is something else completely.
"Utau-chan! Over there!" Iru points at a point of light that shoots down further up the harbor. Exchanging a brief look, both Utau and her remaining Shugo-chara dash off towards the source of light, both curious and eager to see what it might be.
The light has landed on the harbor thoroughfare. If it were daytime there'd be dozens of people here, but as it is the shops are closed and noone but lonely idols and their magical friends are there.
The light has landed on the ground, shimmering and shining, glowing, lighting the dark path like daytime. It's dispersing, though, but even at this distance Utau can feel it may be the most powerful positive magic she's ever felt. Not just a teleport of some sort. There's teleportation and healing and dimensionhopping and something else - maybe a wish. This might be resurrection magic.
"I don't understand..What is this, Iru?" she murmurs, but Iru is just as clueless as Utau is as she walk toward the shining light. It lands on the ground and Utau quickens her pace, curious to see what it could possibly be. She's sure it's just some hunk of meteorite, broken off from the rest..
But somewhere in the back of her mind, she has a feeling that might possibly be related to the battle with the Dark Kingdom..Maybe. It's a little scary though, too. Were these the bodies of the fallen, or..Something else?
However, coming nearer, she feels that it couldn't possibly be something negative. Something about this magic feels warm, comforting even. "Hello?" She ventures, calling out to where the light landed. Was it some sort of teleportation? Did someone just crash land there? Or was it something altogether different?
Utau continues to near the area where the light hit the ground, not stopping until she's right above it.
The light is large, big enough to be a door, and blinding as Utau approaches it, she bumps into something or someone inside it. There's no pain or even discomfort - in fact, even for Eru and her naughty heart, it's warm and loving.
The light's fading, quickly, now, its task done, diminishing, and draining away. When Utau can blink and get her eyes back again, she finds herself face to face with Kukai, his eyes closed, his school uniform a little ragged in places but in one piece - except for his Guardian Cape, wonder where that went? - holding his breath, a cricket bat, of all things, planted onto the ground, his hands wrapped around the hilt.
On each shoulder is a Chara - on his right, leaned against him and asleep, is Daichi, and on his left, similarly asleep, is Eru. They look a little disheveled, but otherwise none the worse for wear.
Utau is forced to shield her eyes briefly, as the light shines brilliantly for a moment. Blinking slowly, she peeks again, and spies..None other than the annoying bad penny, laying asleep in the middle of the harbour! "Go figure.." she mutters with a sigh, although deep down she's quite relieved. Not that she would ever admit it of course!
Next, it is Iru who spots Eru first, and giving a yelp of joy, she dashes down and grabs her opposite, squeezing her in a bear hug. "Eru-chan! You're alive!" She grins wickedly, "Now I can beat you up some more!!" but secretly she's relieved, and is not cruel enough to start hurting her in her slumbering form. Instead, she slaps her face lightly, hoping she will soon wake up.
Utau meanwhile, kneels over Kukai. Not because she cares of course, but because she's kind of curious to see if he's alive or dead..Or just sleeping. Not really knowing what to do, she touches his face briefly, then brings her hand to his neck, searching for a pulse. "Kukai..." She murmurs. "You're such a pain.." Of course she's relieved to see he's not dead, but what the heck just happened?
Kukai Souma suddenly sucks in a breath, opening his eyes and leaning up a bit, one hand gripping the cricket bat tightly. He returns to a normal breathing pattern, and the first person he sees when he comes back? Utau.
So of course she gets the full thing, the 100% completely healthy and super exuberant Jack of Guardians grabs her around the shoulders and hugs her so tightly she might think he'll never let go! "AHAHAH! THEY DID IT!"
He lets out a happy whoop, kisses Utau on the cheek, and releases her, leaping to his feet, arms pumping into the air, fists clenched in victory and cricket bat raised over his head, swinging it back and forth. "WE'RE ALIVE!"
Eru, similarly, is startled awake from the slap from her sister-Chara. She hops to her feet, unsure of what's going on, hovering in midair, but the two of them don't have time to think as Daichi zips between them and huuuuugs both of them tight, laughing and cheering just like his Bearer, spinning the two around and around in a victory dance!
Oh. He's alive. Well that's a relief, but hopefully he's not in a coma or something because Utau's totally not gonna babysit him all night in the middle of nowhere. She could always call an ambulance but..
Suddenly she's grabbed and hugged, which totally catches her off-guard. "Hey! What are you doing? You're strangling me!" she protests, pulling away and reddening slightly - most likely from anger/annoyance of course, when he dares to kiss her on the cheek. "You're so crazy!"
Stepping back and folding her arms once he lets go, she glares back at him, but is quietly relieved to hear that the big bad has been defeated. Even so, all these heroic types are sooo crazy. "Oh...I see. So, we all get to live again." she smirks, "And you brought back Eru to me. I was..Wondering where she ran off too." No need to act like she was even worried about her own Guardian chara, even though she was.
Eru however, has already openned her eyes and giggles madly, tightly hugging Iru and Daichi in a group hug! "I'm so happy to be back! It was super scary, Utau-chan, but I knew you wanted me to look out for Kukai-kun!" She grins and winks as she says that.
Kukai Souma laughs and looks back at her, then rushes over, hugging her again, more gently this time, and smiles. "...More of us get to live than you'd think. This was a one-way trip for a little while, but wow. What magic." He shakes his head, still not really believing it.
"There were fireballs and youma and a shadow version of me and..." He shakes his head, then looks at her. "Let's just say I'm surprised to be looking at you again. But thank you thank you thank you so much!" He turns and cheers to the sky. "Thank you Sailor Moon!"
And then back to Utau, still hyper and chipper and almost bouncing in place. "Thank you for sending Eru - she kept me going when I needed it most, and she saved me! Well, once, at least." He laughs weakly.
Daichi is still spinning and hugging Eru and Iru both, laughing like crazy and simply enjoying the feel of being alive.
"Eru!" she snaps, "Why did you....?" well, she wasn't wanting to reveal that she deliberately sent her in but..In spite of her usual reservations, Utau finds the mood to be catching. It doesn't start instantly, but she does gradually relax a bit, even allowing him to hug her a second time, and even returning the hug this time. A small smile tugs at the corners of her lips and she breathes a sigh of relief.
"I'm relieved and glad you made it back..I suppose I was a bit worried, but I shouldn't have been. Afterall, you've always been a bad penny for me." She smirks, "Well, at least you didn't die. You left your wallet and your meal behind. It would have been difficult for me to explain why I had those.."
Kukai Souma is doing everything he can to come down off the amazing high of being alive. He smiles at Utau, then whoops and lets her go. "I'll get my wallet back later! I gotta go tell my brothers I'm home! And Nadeshiko! And you've got a concert to put on soon!"
Kukai is already running down the street when he stops, turning around, and waves at Utau. "Sorry about the ... uh, cheek thing! I'm bad about that, and I'm sorry! We'll talk more later, ok? I gotta go see everyone! Daichi! Say bye to Eru and Iru - and Eru, thank you again! Thank you both again! WOOHOO!"
He leaps into the air as he runs down the street, entirely too loud for a quiet night like this, even as Daichi hugs both Eru and scowly Iru tightly and waves to them, following his Character Bearer down the avenue, back into life.
