Reiko, or rather- Prism Keeper Orange, was standing on a rooftop, looking across the ocean... she ponders for a moment. Maybe she should fly over water. It'd hurt less landing in the ocean, wouldn't it? Then trashcans and walls and the road! "Alright... I can do this... I can.. fly right over that ocean!" she says as she jumps into the air, and flutters her wings-- keeping about as straight as she can----
Which means she's flying about like a drunk butterfly.
She doesn't even make it over water.
Somewhere, down on a beach path--- she falls straight down into a pile of leaves city workers left there cleaning up the beach. She pops her head out and hrmphs! "I..I didn't even make it over the water!" she complains.
"Why is this so haaaaaard!" she complains loudly. It's nightime! So in theory, no one's around to see her this time.
She hopes.
"What's so hard?" says a voice from a little ways down the path. There's a bit of movement, and a wolfgirl steps into the moonlight.
Moments earlier, Tsukiko had been wandering some of the nearby alleyways, visiting some of her canine friends. A bit of glowing movement up in the sky had caught her attention, and she had followed the erratically flying orange glow from the ground.
Back in the present, she walks over to the girl in orange and offers her a hand up. "Are you okay?"
Reiko Touyama has to focus her eyes a bit, and blinks blinks blinks. Oh! Is that a girl with wolf ears... and a tail.. and---
She does some math on her fingers and shakes her head. "Ye--yeah! Just... trying to-- get the hang of flying..." she murmurs-- she does accept the offered hand as she's yanked up out of the leaf pile.
"I always thought flying would be easier than it is and it isn't! I was.. trying to get over water... so I'd stop hitting the ground or..landing in trash cans!" she says.
"...what's with the wolf getup?" she asks, head tilting. Like as if she's one to talk.
Cute Wolf Tsukiko gives a little grin (fanglies and all!) and spins around once. "It's just the way I am," she smiles. "Just a cheerful little wolfgirl, helping to keep the local neighborhoods safe."
The wolfgirl circles around the girl in orange, looking at her outfit. "First time I've met another magical girl," Tsukiko muses. "That is a very pretty outfit!" She smiles again (still seemingly unaware of any effect her fanglies might be having on the other girl) and bows slightly. "I go by Cute Wolf Tsukiko! And you are called...?"
Reiko Touyama acks, wolf!? Like.. a werewolf!? Like the movies she watches late at night with grandpa when she should be in bed, but grandpa lets her watch anyways!? She suddenly eeks! "Wolfgirl!?" and her teeth are sharp. This makes her sweatdrop a bit. but she seems nice. Right? She's not.. trying to bite her! She doesn't wanna become a werewolf! ;_;.
She does suddenly hold her Chroma wand a little closer to her body a bit, as if to keep it safe- she blinks!
"I'm... Prism Keeper Orange..." she says sort of quietly.
"...and I'm not very good at flying yet." she says a bit.
"...safe from what?" she asks. "Not..something that drains color, right?" she asks wide-eyed.
Cute Wolf Tsukiko blinks at the frightened reaction, then carefully touches her teeth. "Oh, right, these -- sorry!" she apologizes sheepishly, ears slightly splaying from embarrassment. "Still kinda getting used to them." And it's not that they're /big/; it's just that some of her teeth are a bit pointier than most.
"Nice to meet you, Prism Keeper Orange!" the wolfgirl continues, a less toothy smile on her face now. "And the thing I fought the other night didn't drain color, but it sounds like it was giving my cl-... giving someone nightmares." She almost said 'my classmate', and while that might not narrow things down, not sharing that clue should help keep her non-magical identity secret.
"The fact that you /can/ fly is still pretty cool! The best I can do is jump," she admits, then thinks for a moment. "Wait, there are things out there that drain color?" Now it's /her/ turn to be wide-eyed!
Reiko Touyama blinks and blushes a bit. "Yeah..your teeth are.. kinda pointy!" she says, with a nervous smile. "I...met some other magical girl earlier, but...I also crashed into a trash can then too." she says meekly. She head tilts. Something that gives nightmares? Are there evil things out there besides just Shades?... She'll have to ask Mei.
"Um.. Prism Keepers...fight.. Shades. Creatures that steal color and energy from the enviroment and people. That's the idea.. anyways." she says a little. "I'm.. Orange. My friend is.. Red. But she's taking a break. There's only like two of us right now." she says quietly. "There's... supposed to be one.. for each color of the rainbow.." she murmurs quietly. She may be a little overwhelmed!
Cute Wolf Tsukiko blinks again. Even /more/ magical girls? Including groups of them? And just half a week ago, she didn't even know that there was more magic than just curse-related stuff!
But groupwork, she /does/ have a certain instinct for. "So... you're part of a team of two, when there's supposed to be seven of you? And the other one is currently busy?" the wolfgirl inquires, trying to make sure she understands what's going on with Orange and her group.
Reiko Touyama blinks! "Not busy! Red's been through a lot---and.. so I'm picking up the slack, cause Red was alone until I got my Crystal!" she huffs. "Red's been through a lot! She needs a break!" she says. She looks down. "Sorry! I just... feel bad, because... she was doing it alone for a while! and--she could had asked me to help anytime. But she didn't." she says looking down a bit.
"But. I can now! So that's why I gotta learn how to fly better. I need to get places quickly!" she says.
"In case a shade shows up somewhere unexpected!"
A gentle smile crosses Tsukiko's face, and she goes over and gives Orange a hug. "I'm willing to help you two out as well!" she offers. "If there's more eyes out there, there's more chances to find Shades and other monsters that cause trouble, right?"
Besides, having someone to fight alongside just /feels/ right. The strays that helped her against the nightmare youma were supportive, but she was the only one at the time who could really go up against the strange creature of darkness. Wolves form packs by nature, and even though the wolf spirit in her was small by proportion, it's enough to encourage her.
Reiko Touyama is hugged! It isn't unwanted, but it DOES make her feel better, so she hugs back! "You are!? But.. this isn't.. your fight-- and.." she bites her lip. "But..if you want to help, it can't hurt I guess." she says. "It'd be nice to have help." she says with a smile.
She leans forward... "Um. Can I ask... why you're like a werewolf?" she asks meekly. "Did something bite you!?" she asks, looking her over.
"I've only been a magical girl for a couple of nights now," Tsukiko admits, her tail wagging slightly from the returned hug. "Having a more definite idea of what to do is a good thing!" After all, the original purpose of the Lycan Locket is now a few generations out of date, and there's no new grand purpose for it right now.
"I... kinda am," the wolfgirl replies, giggling slightly. "And /I/ wasn't bitten; my great-grandfather was, several decades ago. But I'm only a little bit wolfy -- none of that stuff about silver or forced shapeshifting during the full moon." It's probably just coincidence that she happened to find and activate the locket during a full moon, right? "And this is as wolf-like as I get; no turning into a full wolf for me!"
Reiko Touyama head tilts and seems to calm down a bit, taking a sigh. "Oh, okay!" she sheepishly say. "I just... watch late night movies with my grandpa and--- yeah." she trails off. She bites her lip. "Prism Keepers was just... a game I used to play with my friends-- a story and-- now it's real. I dunno why. It's really weird." she admits.
She smiles. "But I can handle it!" she says. "I'm.. second in command! I can do it!" she says as she reassures herself. It doesn't quite work, but she's feeling theatrical for a moment. It does however, cause a small magical burst of koi to explode out from behind her and explode into hearts in the air.
".... ah.. s .. sorry!" she says. "I didn't mean for that to happen!"
Cute Wolf Tsukiko nods. "From the stories my great-grandfather has told, the werewolf he fought was much like the ones you'd see on those movies," she agrees. "Two spirits -- a wolf spirit and a human spirit -- stuck in a body that can only handle one. It's part of why they're so vicious, and it's also why they can transmit lycanthropy through their bite: the wolf spirit kinda 'leaks out' during the bite, then grows to full strength. Usually."
The wolfgirl applauds Orange's dedication, then earperks at the flashy fireworks-- er, /fishyworks/ that go off. "Oh, that's pretty!" she ooohs. "It's neat that you can do that!"
Reiko Touyama acks. "I wasn't even trying I just... saying stuff and that happened." she admits sheepishly. "They kind of just...happen. I mean. Like... Red summons roses and rose brambles, and I summon.... koi fish." she says meekly. "I can make them appear at will, and use them for things, but-- sometimes that happens." she says with a curt nod.
"It's hard to control it sometimes. But I'm just learning!" she beams.
"At least they don't happen when I'm not... like.. this!" she says. "I'd never ever explain that away!"
Cute Wolf Tsukiko nods understandingly. "My powers aren't that fancy, but they also don't seem to have a mind of their own," she remarks, then pauses as a small realization hits her. "I /can/ understand dogs when I'm being my normal self, though. Probably because of the magic reacting with my diluted lycanthropy." Even without the Lycan Locket, she's noticed that she can actually understand dogs as Ikiko; the locket just makes them clearer, much like tuning a radio from a close frequency to the precise one.
The wolfgirl gives Orange a cheerful smile. "I hope to meet Prism Keeper Red some day!" she beams. "If her roses are as neat as your koi, then they're going to be awesome to see!"
A thought comes to Tsukiko's mind. "What does her outfit look like?" she inquires. "Like yours, but in reds instead of oranges?"
Reiko Touyama blushes. "Well.. yeah, give or take. We're all a little different! Though the skirts and stuff is the same." she says with a curt, matter of fact nod.
She blinks. "You can...talk to dogs!? I wonder if... I can understand Koi..." she muses, she need to test later. "I bet koi have lots of things to say!" she says with a beam.
"I..I think I'm actually going to go test that right now!" she beams. "it was nice meeting you Cute Wolf Tsukiko!" she says. "I'm sure we'll meet again, I try to get out nightly to practice!" she says. "So be well!" she says as she hovers up a foot of the ground, and higher---
Still like some sort of drunk butterfly towards the directon of the Botanical Gardens in Penguin Park.
"Take care, Prism Keeper Orange!" Tsukiko waves as the flying magical girl floats off like a leaf on a blustery day. So, there are other magical girls, and other magical monsters? Definitely an informative night!
Once Orange is out of sight, the wolfgirl leaps up onto a nearby lamppost, then bounds across rooftops and telephone poles and trees northward, in the general direction of Seishou.
