Status Quo

Eilam returns to the site of the beach party after all but Madoka and Homura has left and tells them a little more about himself and his condition. Suggestions on what might be causing it and and ways he might investigate it further are given, but it seems all that will have to come in due time.

The beach party was a success! At least, as far as beach parties are measured in pass and fail. The majority if not all of the crowds had left and cleanup may or may not have taken place. Eilam himself had departed with Reiko when she left, as she'd invited him, and after giving her a hug goodbye and teasing her a bit more, she was off!... which left him to either call his driver, or something else. He thought about it, and then his mind wandered towards what he'd saw earlier. Madoka making a big lighty show of what Reiko had described, by proxy, as magic. Magic... something he wasn't really the most certain of.

He'd seen it when the shade attacked, and Reiko and others were doing magicy things. He was... partially aware of 'magic-like things' in his own case. But outright things like that? It was strange, but it made him hopeful and he didn't even know why.

So, instead of calling his driver, Eilam found himself walking back towards the beach front area. Still wearing the silly Pikachu face tanktop and shorts, with accompanying straw hat and sandals, he seemed to favor his walking aid stave more than he was earlier. Were they even here still? Maybe. He saw them when he left, but... it was hard to say for certain.
Madoka Akemi 2016-06-22 18:49:26 45995
Madoka has cleaned up a bit after the guests left. Part of her is a teensy bit sad that the party didn't go well past sundown, since that's what the fire was ostensibly for, but on the other hand it meant that the rest of the time spent on the private beach could be used for alone time with Homura. And that had it's perks! After the vodka was all poured out, the grill was scrubbed, and the unsmashed watermelon were stowed, "I guess we didn't need three of them after all. I know what I can do with them though; how would you like some more Madokaloupe?" she asks Homura playfully.

Afterwards she snags one of the cooking sticks and roasts a hotdog over the fire to her preference and sticks it on a bun, eating it down and considering the 'not really healthy but at least protein' part of her dinner done. After that? Oh yes, it's smores time. The gramcrackers already have chocolate on them and everything! All that's left is to roast some marshmallows, and so that's what she's doing now, holding it well away from the flames and twisting it slowly so it cooks slowly and melts completely inside, just like Papa taught her!

It's only then that she notices the boy with long pink hair, blinking a little, "Oh, Hisakawa-kun, I didn't realize you were still here! Ehehe, sorry if I wasn't much of a hostess after I greeted everyone, I kinda let myself get involved in my own things." A look and a smile is sent over to Homura, her 'own things' in the flesh.
Homura Akemi 2016-06-22 19:00:34 45996
Homura, of course, is still with Madoka. It's difficult enough to pry her off of her girlfriend, let alone actually keep them separated for long. Needless to say she didn't make Madoka clean up on her own, and was more than helpful in helping her find and pick up things.

At the mention of Madokaloupe, Homura's thusfar favorite ice cream/sorbet, she giggles and says, "I'd love that! I still have the ice cream tub from last time." Because of course she would, and of course she does.

Homura had plenty of meat earlier, as well as a slice of watermelon, so she takes a water bottle (that has REAL water in it) and also picks up a few cooking sticks of her own, roasting marshmallows until they're brown. Her roasting technique is a little different than Madoka's, going for more of a mass production model where she holds several sticks in on hand, fanned out, and uses the other hand to twist them when she thinks they've been cooked enough on one side. She doesn't have a benefit of being raised by a skilled chef, but she likes efficiency.

When she hears Madoka greet someone, she turns her head to regard Eilam, raising her free hand to wave at him, and chuckling as Madoka mentions getting caught up in 'her own things'. "Good evening. Hisakawa-san, was it?"
Eilam Hisakawa 2016-06-22 19:10:04 45997
A nod is given towards Madoka, and then Homura in turn. "Hisakawa, yes. Eilam Hisakawa. I realize it is a bit after the event, but I had meant to speak with you about something. About... what you saw at the Crafts club, and... your display here earlier." Display was left vague, but one might assume he was talking about a certain specific very grand display of something. Besides PDA. "I cannot say I know why I am... feeling a bit hopeful that this will have some positive effect, but I am. Do you two have time?"

There was that hint of fear in his voice again. Kind of at Madoka. Still a little worried about her despite trying to be hopeful. Kind of like that stray cat that might hesitate at approaching despite being hungry and hopeful for food.

"Otherwise, I can find another point to try and discuss it with you. This whole... magical thing is new to me, to a point, and it seems more prudent to ask you over another I know given you might already know a bit more than you were trying to be polite about."
Madoka Akemi 2016-06-22 19:28:29 45998
"I remember! You showed it to me when I was worried about it after Walpurgisnacht threw a skyscraper into your apartment," Madoka recounts when the ice cream tub she made to hold the ice cream she made for Homura is mentioned. It makes her smile warmly, that her friend had cared so much about something she had given to her.

Homura's marshmallow roasting technique may not give absolute perfect results but it will sure churn the smores out so much faster! The efficiency can not be doubted, and it's rather mesmerizing to watch her manage three at the same time. "That's incredible, Homura-chan. I can't wait to see how you get them all off!" So mesmerizing that she nearly forgets about her own marshmallow, which is now drooping down and barely hanging onto her stick. She lets out a cry when she notices and very carefully turns around and just barely manages to get it onto the chocolate holding graham cracker in time, squishing the top piece down to make a delicious sugarbomb of a treat.

She takes a bite of it after letting the chocolate melt, looking for a moment like she's about to float off the ground, "Mmm." She is listening to Eilam though, and after that first bite speaks up, "Oh! That form of mine does have that affect; making people feeling hopeful and happy." A quick nod of her head, "I think so! We have the beach all night."

Her eyes blink a couple of times and her head tilts when he says magic is new to him, "It... it is? I had thought you were keeping a magical secret yourself on purpose because of what happened at the club." She lifts a finger to her chin and hums, "I'm not really an expert about magic in general but I do have a very good idea of what's involved in being the type of magic user I am; a Puella Magi." Mostly because of memories gleaned from Homura, too.

"I've only been using magic myself for, hmm, a little over four months now. But I've been exposed to magic here in Tokyo ever since I moved back from America. I know how important it can be to keep secret identities," not her own apparently given the display she put on, "so I wanted to make sure I didn't compromise one you might have in any way. I'm positive there's something magical about you though, if my guess is right and your wound healed very quickly. I had thought you knew all about it, too." But that clearly isn't the case, she now learns.
Homura Akemi 2016-06-22 19:40:15 45999
Get them off? Um... As careful as Homura is, she hasn't really thought that through, and the surprised and confused face she momentarily makes might give that away. Once they are sufficiently roasted, she places three of the graham crackers with chocolate on it down on a plate in her lap. Then she lowers one of the skewered marshmallows to the chocolate and, putting her nails to the stick, she slowly and carefully pulls the skewer out of it, getting a small amount of marshmallow goo on her thumb. Once she's done with all three, she carefully bites the leftover goo off of her thumb.

She takes a bite out of her first s'more, then offers one up to Eilam, since it'd be a little rude to just eat in front of him.

Homura's first instinct upon hearing that someone is new to magic is to warn them about making a wish through Kyubey, but she withholds the warning since Eilam is a boy and Kyubey, as far as she knows, only approaches girls. Still, he wants to know about magic, and he's asking Madoka. She glances at her girlfriend at the mention of 'what happened at the Craft's Club', but she doesn't ask out loud. She can piece together that something magical happened and that's close enough.

"There are a lot of dangers involved in magic, and a lot of good things, too. There are at least five or six different kinds of magic out there that I've seen, and I'm willing to bet there's actually a lot more that I haven't even seen. What would you like to talk about?"

She doesn't comment much on secret identities, but she's never been shy about what she is.
Eilam Hisakawa 2016-06-22 19:50:23 46000
So that was why he felt... hopeful. It was strange. He couldn't shake the feeling regardless, and even if it felt strange, might as well just get it out, right? "I do not know anything of magic because... I have never thought of it that way. I have never met anyone who could use such, just gypsy imposters and charlatans. My own... condition, I never even thought about it as magic. It was simply how I am. I cannot use magic or do anything special as it were, I simply... am."

Eilam was just kind of standing around until he saw Homura offer the smore over, at which point he let out a soft sound akin to a laugh and reached to take it. He did move to sit nearby too. "Thank you. All I know of this magic is what I saw a couple of days past courtesy of Reiko and another, when some... thing attacked, and today. Well, beyond my own condition. ...I keep calling it that out of habit, but I have never known much about it, or how I came to be like this. I simply was, and I have lived like it." The stave sat down next to him, he took the satchel he had on and set it nearby, putting the campfire confection on it.

Then he reached over towards his stave, grasping near a joint and twisting it after depressing a safety lock, the relatively uniform-looking stave pulling apart and revealing a long, thin, guardless sword. He didn't pull it out fully so much as let it rest on his lap. "I cannot die, not that I have ever found out. And not for lack of effort or trying, on my part or the part of others. Something keeps... healing me. Returning me to how I was. Sickness and all. Maybe I am not using the right words, my not knowing anything of magic, but perhaps you can see for yourself?" He reaches to take the sword out, then reaches down with his hand, running his palm along the blade and wincing a bit only to turn it over and reveal that while, yes, there was certainly blood and evidence of the cut, it just kind of... returned to how his palm was before, quickly closing up with no sign anything had happened beyond the traces of blood.

"This is why I was so... worried when you saw it. I have had... medical types in the past discover such and try to 'understand me' against my will." And with that, he went quiet, letting the blade and stave pieces rest on the sand as he reached with his other hand to pick up the smore and eat some.
Madoka Akemi 2016-06-22 20:04:44 46001
Madoka is talking with Eilam and so doesn't see the surprise and confusion on her girlfriends face when she realizes she has three hot and gooey balls of sugar that need dealing with all at the same time. Instead she looks over in curiosity when it's actually time to do so, making an approving and amazed, "Ooooh!" When Homura extends the plate to Eilam Madoka interjects, "Have you had smores before, Hisakawa-kun? You should try one, they're delicious!" When he accepts it from Homura she gives him a closed-eyed smile before taking another big bite out of her own.

So he doesn't know much about magic, but witnessed a magical battle, and has some kind of innate magical power? Madoka makes a soft hum. She considers asking him if he knows the extent of that supernatural healing, only to nod lightly as she gets the answer when he says he simply can't die. Though when he mentions not for lack of his own trying her eyes widen slightly. "That's not good, Hisakawa-kun!" she notes with a mildly alarmed tone, the worry on her face evident.

She winces when he cuts his hand with the sword, but forces herself to watch as the wound closes up quickly. "It's almost like Sayaka-chan," she notes quietly, "but when she does it it takes up some of her magic power." She turns her eyes to the middle finger of Eilams left hand, the nail specifically, but quickly shakes her head. No, he doesn't seem like a Puella Magi. He'd have had to make a contract to do that, nevermind all the Witch hunting he'd have required to live.

"I see... that must have been very horrible for you, Hisakawa-kun. I'm sorry you had to go through something like that." It doesn't take much imagination to think that that kind of healing ability and medical investigation could go in some very bad places. As for actual answers or ideas on how to approach his circumstances? She doesn't have much. "I wish I knew how to help."
Homura Akemi 2016-06-22 20:15:42 46002
Homura watches, munching on her smore, as Eilam cuts himself and then heals almost immediately. She doesn't show any sort of shock or anything, neither from the blood nor from the rapid healing, but after swallowing a bite she comments. "Rapid regeneration... or maybe not, if it restores sickness as well. Something like that, anyways." She nods as Madoka points out that Sayaka has similar powers.

She frowns at the mention of being 'studied' against his will, and at that point she can issue some warning. "Watch out for Eclipse. They're the kind of people who would do that." Riventon and Miss White come to mind immediately, though she wonders if either of them would still go that far, with how much has changed. "Though even then, not all of them are that bad. Just be careful."

Madoka reacts to his stated attempts to die, and Homura is just quiet. She imagines he must be miserable indeed to even try it, but she's not in any position to judge.

She does, however, have a lot of knowledge to go on, at least enough to make informed guesses, but this exact case is strange enough that she doesn't have a specific answer. "I know somewhere out there is a doll that harvests curses. I'm honestly not sure if she's still around. It has been a long time since I've seen her. There are also people who have purifying powers, but typically purification only works on a specific type of malady. I also know a few healers, but I wouldn't discount the possibility that your sickness could return even after having been healed. Have you been cured before?"

She takes a few more bites of her smore as she thinks it over. "Have you seen many fights? They don't happen every day, but they're common enough that you may find that you need to defend yourself. An inability to die could help you in that regard."
Eilam Hisakawa 2016-06-22 20:25:02 46003
"I do not... linger on the past too much. I try to learn from it. I imagine it is a bit different for normal people, right? Growing up, moving on with your life, not having something so obvious to hide. Being able to have friends, stay in a place forever. Not having to constantly move every few years to keep people from realizing even aging does not really... take hold. At all. I simply try to stay away from those who might know things that I cannot trust." Though when Homura mentions those to stay away from, Eilam looks at her as if thinking about that. "I do not know what this Eclipse is, but in the future if I can find out more, or someone can tell me, I will certainly avoid them. And as for fights..."

He looked down at the sword and then his hand only to shake his head a little. "It is pointless trying to defend myself. Even if I get hurt, it does not stay. That is to protect others that I might want to keep safe, or try to scare others off. I mean... all someone has to do to 'fight' me is sit on me and I doubt I would have the strength to push them off or get up. And as for my sickness..."

That made him think a little, chewing on the smore more. "I tried for a long time to figure out what it was. But that meant doctors and crazy types. Those who knew, knew enough that I should not be. So I finally stopped trying. Best I can tell, I am kind of like a pressed flower. Trapped how I was at this point. Forever."

Eilam raised the remains of the smore towards Madoka, "I have not made these, no. I have seen them, in stories and advertisements, but I have never made them. Eaten, yes, but... not made them. Thank you for it. And... Miss Kaname, as far as my having tried to figure out how to be rid of this... imagine always being tired, but never able to sleep. And having that feeling persist all day, every day, for hundreds of years. Not to sound morbid, I did not intend to ruin the moment, this party was quite nice and relaxing, but yes. Sleep is nice, and often taken for granted."
Madoka Akemi 2016-06-22 20:33:31 46004
Madoka considers Homura's comment about the healing potentially working on diseases as well has her making soft hum and looking over to Eilam, "Do you get sick very often, the cold or the flu? You're tired and fatigued a lot, which might mean you have a weak immune system because your body is stressed." She then tilts her head slightly and looks between Homura and the pink-haired boy, "Do you think the fatigue and the healing are related?"

Her eyes turn upward and she makes a contemplative face, "If you're constantly healing and low on energy, maybe you're constantly running out of energy because of it? Magical energy, not just the normal kind. You feel really tired and sometimes even pass out when that happens." She knows; she was drained by Ayana, once upon a time. Her eyes turn towards Homura's, trying to get her opinion. Obviously Sayaka can't heal so much she completely runs out of magic. Or, well, she can but it would kill her rather than leaving her in a state of perpetual fatigue.

"I think looking for a healer would be very helpful, like Homura-chan says. It could go a long way towards helping you learn more about yourself. There are some that revitalize your energy as well as healing your body." Mamoru's healing works like that, right?

Madoka frowns at the mention of people being able to simply push him down because of how weak and tired he's become. But then something else he says sinks in and she blinks, "Hundreds of years? That... really does sound terrible! You've had to suffer for so long? I'm sure there must be something we can do; someone we can connect you with. Maybe Virtue?" She looks over to Homura, "Do you think we should get him in contact with one of the Guardians so he could meet Tadase-kun?" Suddenly she lets out a sigh, "Two of them were at the party tonight, too."
Homura Akemi 2016-06-22 20:51:43 46005
"I wouldn't know anything about what it's like to be normal. It's been so long that I've completely forgotten." Homura shrugs. She doesn't particularly sound as if she misses it, either. Even before making a contract she never really felt like she fit in. "Sounds like you've had a rough time. I can't claim to know what it's like to constantly move, but I know many of us feel like we need to keep secrets. The... normal, non-magical people can barely even see what we do, and often even faint upon seeing it. Often their minds will make something up in order to support their delusion that magic isn't real. It's almost scary how universal that is, if you think about it."

As for what Eclipse is... well, how should Homura explain it? "They're a magical organization that has a lot of power around here. If you see people throwing around dark energy, those people are likely from Eclipse, but not always. They have a lot of scientific minds among them, and while some of them mean well a lot of them are lacking in ethics. They don't really have a uniform that I can point out to you, but they tend to use robots that look like gangsters."

Sitting on him would be enough to put him out of a fight? Is he that frail? Well that's a shame. At Madoka's suggestion, Homura nods. "It might be a lack of energy. If your power can't be turned off, then it could constantly be draining you in order to maintain some kind of status quo. I've seen that happen before. Of course that's just one theory."

She starts rattling off various healers that she's met and knows about, even some that she's only heard of from word of mouth. "Iris Shelby runs a magical clinic. She's trustworthy, but a little hard to get hold of lately. Tuxedo Kamen has healing powers but he's... tied up, for the moment. It's complicated. There's another boy associated with Virtue named Asclepius who has some healing powers. There might be others out there if you ask around, I'm sure. Most of them are actually pretty trustworthy, and won't experiment on you without permission. Sailor Mercury can also run a scan on you, if that could help."

She doesn't mention Valeria, because she doesn't know her. She doesn't mention her own healing powers either, since magic for her, for the indefinite future, is very limited. Would healing him be futile? Would she be throwing months of her life away? She'd rather not try it.

She waves her hand at Eilam's apology. "That's life for the magical. Things happen and they need to be handled."
Eilam Hisakawa 2016-06-22 21:07:18 46006
"...even if you trust them, i would rather not... share myself that much. Not without dilligence. Hope only goes so far before it is simply... wishful thinking. Still, thank you for talking. It has given me some things to think about. My illness, though... what I remember of it, before I became like this? I was not always so weak. I was healthy. A young man. I do not know how old even... it was so long ago I have forgotten a lot of small details. However, I remember I just started to get tired often, and slowly it felt like I was wasting away. No energy, and when I did get energy, it was gone again soon after. ...my family got worried i would somehow spread my sickness to them and my siblings, so they... left me for nature to take its' course. Only... it did not."

Eilam finishes the smore and works to slowly reassemble his stave, collecting his stuff before working rather hard to push himself upright. "I think I will need to be on my way shortly before I am too tired to make much of things. Still..." reaching into his satchel, he pulls out a pair of business cards and offers them towards the two, "This is where I live. I... I want to trust you. I do not know much of either of you, but just being able to talk about this is more progress than I have had in all my life, really. If you wish to speak or... whatnot, my cell phone is there as well."

And with that, he just kind of turned and began to amble off, reaching into his satchel to pull out said cell phone to text his driver to come get him. Of course, at his snails pace, he was going to be within conversation range for a good minute or so at worst.
Madoka Akemi 2016-06-22 21:17:59 46007
Madoka nods as Homura speaks, not just showing that she's listening but actively supporting the points she makes so Eilam knows the other girl's advice is both trustworthy and good. "Eclipse can be very dangerous. I'm not sure how to identify all of their members myself, only that I've met a few of them." Her opinion is close enough to Homura's that she doesn't restate it; some mean well but use unethical methods, while others are straight up dangerous.

As for the healers mentioned Madoka nods, "Virtue is a very nice group. I think they said they're like a group of people working together more than a strict organization? I think all of them that I know would be happy to help you, and I'm sure all of them wouldn't ever think of trying to hurt you or experiment on you without permission. That's the kind of thing they're around to stop." Would Sailor Venus be happy to help Eilam? Madoka doesn't consider her someone she knows so much as someone she's seen, but she's certainly not sending him to her specifically!

It's a rare case where Madoka doesn't even consider helping him herself. As a Puella Magi she could technically use her magic to try to heal his body, and attempt to restore energy. But there's a Grief Seed drought on, and healing is rather magic intensive. Giving energy directly would be giving away her very life force. Maybe in a normal situation she'd be willing to try it, but right now the thought doesn't even cross her mind. Terrible things are in store if she were to run out of magic; she's seen what happens if she does herself. What would be the purpose of helping one boy only to threaten the entire city, or even the entire world? Could the magical heroes of Tokyo face down Kreimhild Gretchen, win, and still have enough strength left to fight off Fiore and the Xenian?

No, that's not something she will even consider. Madoka Kaname is stalwart in her care for herself, because she refuses to become the world ending monster Kyubey wants her to.

But then it seemed like their advice wasn't going to be taken, at least not yet. Madoka nods in understanding, trying to understand what it must be like to trust so few about his condition, having been taken advantage of in the past. On one point, however, she must disagree, and adamantly.

Madoka stands up, stepping forward while holding one hand to her chest, "That isn't true, Hisakawa-kun! There is always reason to have hope, and think that there must be a better way. Maybe one thing will let you down, but that doesn't mean another is without value. I'm sure if you keep looking you'll find something to help you, maybe not to fix everything, but to help!"

She follows after him a couple of steps, arms held low but extended towards him in pleading body language, "I'm not saying that what we're suggesting is the right way, and that you have to listen to us. Just... don't give up. On yourself, and on the world. Please?"

She accepts the business card from him when it's offered to her, looking it over and biting her lip a little. She doesn't think she has any Virtue cards on her, or any from Iris Shelby either. But Homura might. "At least let Homura-chan give you someone's phone number and address that you could talk to. You don't have to contact them soon, or even ever, but you could think it over, right?"
Homura Akemi 2016-06-22 21:35:37 46008
Homura shrugs as Eilam says he'd rather not be too trusting. "I don't blame you. It's wise to show caution, and to form your own opinions." She doesn't think that her recommendations are wrong, but it's also wrong to be pushy about it. "From the sound of things, you have plenty of time."

Madoka speaks out in defense of hope, and Homura offers her... well, it's a response colored by her experiences. "Careful not to take things at face value. It may seem hopeless now, but you never know when things will change." She decides not to add 'for better or worse'. "I'm not promising there's a cure for your problem, but there's still plenty of good things to be found in this world, and plenty of things to hope for." She glances towards Madoka as she adds that last part.

She's handed a business card, and she looks it over. Obviously she doesn't have any business cards hidden on her bikini, but her ring glows purple for a moment as purple energy splashes all over her, forming her henshin. She reaches into her shield, pulling out several business cards and tossing them to Eilam. "Here, one of them is my business card." It has a company logo that clearly displays the name 'Contractors' on it, along with Homura's name and a cell number on it. "The others are for Iris Shelby and Sailor Mercury. Don't feel any obligation to contact any of them, but in case you change your mind the door is open."

Homura watches as Eilam walks away, albeit at a slow pace, then looks back at Madoka, and then to her one remaining smore. Her henshin vanishes from around her, and she breaks the smore in two and offers the (slightly larger) piece to her girlfriend. There isn't much she can do about Eilam's case, at the moment, but just being aware of it can change things.
Eilam Hisakawa 2016-06-22 21:43:26 46009
Something about the whole NO WAIT moment got Eilam to laugh. Softly, mostly, but laugh. "I suppose you two don't quite understand one important thing. Which is probably my fault for not explaining it well enough. I cannot give up. I have tried. For the forseeable future, I am here to stay. ...not trying is much harder than existing. No fun. I enjoy my comfort that I have worked towards for so long. So many lifetimes of good business choices means I am well off enough to be lazy and afford biding my time. As your friend said, Miss Kaname, I have plenty of time. If anything of my circumstances changes, I would be nothing but happy, I promise you. So the worst thing that will happen is nothing, and nothing is what has been happening regardless, hm?"

The offered cards were tucked into his satchel after glancing over them, Eilam nodding at Homura, getting the sense she was the slightly more 'sedate' of the pair and less prone to worrying. ...at least openly.

"I will look into what you two have said, just... at my own pace. I have been burned before." a pause, where he refrains from saying literally, holding off on his own morbid humor, "I have no problem taking my time. if you... find yourself needing anything, though, let me know? I could set you and or your families up quite comfortably if you liked or anyone needs a job. I do have many employees and my 'business' slash day job, as it were, is... simply making assets do work. Technology. Such a strange thing. I saw it all come about and even now it still seems like magic to me far more than your actions."
Madoka Akemi 2016-06-22 21:58:09 46010
Madoka honestly can't disagree with the sentiment of being cautious, not after everything that she's seen, and especially not with certain people trying so hard to mislead her. Homura earns a thankful and grateful look when she agrees with her sentiments about retaining hope having some belief that things can get better. And again when the business cards are produced.

"I'm glad that you're not going to give up, Hisakawa-kun, but I hope you do try to find a way to make things better for yourself." A small nod is given as he says that at worst things will stay as they are, and then relief as he says he will look after things, just in his own time. Which is perfectly reasonable and is enough to calm her down. "Thank you, I really do hope things get better for you."

Offers of help in return are made, and Madoka lets out a small giggle, "We have a bit of a business of our own! Though it's rather new." Something occurs to her then and a look of worry crosses her features. "Hisakawa-kun? You should know... be careful in your business dealings as well. Eclipse is into all sorts of those things, too." She doesn't really know how much so herself, only that they fund Hannah and WPS' operations, which means they must have a mighty bankroll indeed. As to the note of technology being new and strange? That's not really something she truly understand. "Ehehe..."

A moment later she's turning to Homura, taking the half of smore from her, only to break into a fit of giggles. It goes on for ten seconds or so, only for her to smile brightly, "Seeing you go from your magical girl outfit to a bikini is very silly!" The smore gets a big bite taken out of it and she moves closer to lean against Homura. "I hope he'll be okay," she says quietly.

Homura holds up her hand and shakes her head. "It's like she says, we run our own company. If you need a new building, or something dragged out from the sea, we can manage that for you. Though I will say, a lot of us who go to Infinity have money to throw around."

Homura being the more 'sedate' of them... well, anyone who's seen her in a fight might think otherwise. She's certainly the colder one between the two of them. She certainly doesn't have anything to get angry about right now.

Madoka is better at being optimistic than Homura is, so she lets her do most of the talking on that front. When Eclipse's business dealings are brought up, Homura nods.

"They have their hands in just about everything. They require a large intake of money and they're very good at keeping that intake going. Even I don't know how far it goes, but I'd still be careful."

Homura isn't sure what to say on the subject of technology. From her perspective it hasn't advanced at all in over a decade, but that has more to do with her being stuck in a timeloop than anything else. From an outside perspective, even an immortal one, is it really that fast? She has to wonder.

Homura watches as Madoka suddenly starts giggling, and tilts her head as she wonders what it is that's so funny. Then the fact of her sudden henshining is mentioned, and when she thinks about how it must look she laughs too. "Well it's not like I can take my business cards out swimming!"

As silly as it looks, that shield actually makes things a lot easier for her.
