It was fairly late at night. A time when most were simply not doing much. Either asleep, or already occupied. Perhaps out with friends. Today was not one of those days for Eilam. It was strange that he was even awake at this time. But, he was pushing through it, even if exhaustion was trying to claw at him. Eilam was here at this church, late at night, speaking with one of those who maintained the building. Trying to get his hands on some old records to see what happened to someone who may or may not have died.
Just why remained to be seen, but at the moment, Eilam was sitting quietly by himself in one of the pews, waiting for them to come back and let him know the verdict. His attire today was not even all that fancy, just a pair of black slacks, some nice shoes and a pink short-sleeved dressy shirt. Beyond that, nothing too much to note about Eilam, at least to those who see normally and aren't magically inclined.
Jiaying Maki isn't going inside of the church quite yet. She's heard bad things about those sort of places. She's sure she won't burst into flames, but you know, why take the risks? However! She is peeking in through the windows and exploring the building itself, trying to get a good idea of the building any anything that might be around that would make her miserable. During one of these peeking sessions, she sees a familiar face and says a bit louder than intended since she's half climbed onto a window, "Ni wei shenme zai zher?" before slipping and landing with a rather strange sounding yelp onto the sidewalk. Whoops!
"Hm?"
The voice caused Eilam to look up, but not in time to see the one fall. He did look up in time and pay attention in time to hear the sound of the impact, though, and the complaints thereafter. "...the thief?" The voice sounded familiar but he wasn't sure. So, getting up, Eilam took his stave and began to walk outside of the Church to try and get around to the side roughly where he heard the noise. "Is someone there? I thought I heard someone hit something but..."
He didn't even really know what to expect. It sounded like them though.
Jiaying Maki is laying on her back, watching the church and contemplating yelling at it. Stupid inanimate objects and their slippery window sills, don't they know that's dangerous! Pushing herself up after she catches her breath, she brushes herself off, stands up straight and resumes brushing herself off. When she hears the voice, she mutters to herself and says, "No, no one's here, go back to sleep." as she then resumes her actions of checking for any permanent damage to her clothes mostyl. She didn't really fall that far really!
He heard a muttering of some kind, but wasn't sure at this point, so once he finally got around and Eilam saw Jiaying checking herself out, as if she might be hurt, he made his way over. "Hey, you okay?" He did seem concerned despite it all. "If you are hurt I can call someone." She didn't seem too terribly hurt but he was trying to be helpful. It was indeed the same fellow she'd met the other day with Reiko near the jewelry store! "I think I heard you ask why I am here, if... you want to talk inside, we can, if you are unhurt?"
Jiaying Maki brushes herself off one last time, tugs at her skirt to adjust it, then looks at the pink haired oy and shakes her head, "Nono, I'm good. Don't want to go inside, I don't know what will happen." Though under her breath she mentions something about him not bursting into flame so maybe she's okay. She taps her foot to adjust her shoes, grins and says, "I'm fine though, thank you. Just tripped by being all... distracted." She seemed to ahve to think on that word Whether it was due to confusion or just wanting to pick the right one is a different thing.
"Do not know? It... it's a church. What could happen? I am just here trying to get some information on someone I met many years ago when I was younger. I heard from someone that they might have died and I wanted to find out for sure. Since... I think I heard you ask what I was doing here? I might be mistaken." He did look towards her a bit more closely, not accepting she wasn't hurt at first though he did eventually step back a bit. "Your choice. Not sure what distracted you, though. I thought Miss Touyama was the only one infatuated with me. Were you as well?" Strangely blunt and not teasing, he was simply curious. He didn't seem to think she was.
Jiaying Maki looks up at the church, towards the roof and says, "You know, that's kind of a good question isn't it? I should try walking in and see what happens. Do you think it's warded?" Crossing her arms, she grins suddenly and says, "I bet they don't even ward it against us! Hah! Huh... wonder how precise they have to be on that note. I should ask Ayana to experiment things with me." She's only off in her own little world for a moment though as the question prompted to her gets a startled look and she suddenly says, "Infati-whatsit?" Before it kind of clicks and she suddenly says, "Aaah! Nonono, I don't lik-... erh. You were kind of a jerk you know."
Something Jiaying does or says makes Eilam smile a little, even if that was about the extent of it. "I was most certainly not a jerk. Come now, you were the one who kept calling me idiot, was it? You were kind of a jerk to me, you know." His tone at this point /was/ a little teasing, even as he did turn back towards the entrance of the Church to make his way back in. "While you are talking, what are you talking about, ward? And us, for that matter?" Seems he didn't get the association of what she was trying to say.
Jiaying Maki shakes her head and points right at him and says, "After you repeatedly accused me of being a thief! Do you know how rude that is? Especially when other people can hear it!" She blows a raspberry and crosses her arms as she stands up straight. She points to the church and says, "You can walk in and out just fine, I don't know if I can either. Never... really went anywhere near a church. I mean we had a few Christians, but they were all weird." Like she has any room at all to talk really. Leaning forward, she gets a better look and asks, "What do you mean what do I mean? You were at the beach party, that means you're either all... magical-like or know of it right?"
"I was there, but that does not... ...OH, so you... are aware, too, or can use magic? I guess that kind of makes sense. You saw something about fishes with Miss Touyama when I could not, and now that I finally know what you meant and put two and two together..."
Eilam trailed off a little as he tried to sort things out, standing there quietly as he did. "...what does that have to do with a church, though? Are churches inherently magical? I cannot think so... I have never seen anything to indicate they are. I kind of stopped believing in gods a long time ago. I mean, if they were real, why let people who have done nothing wrong suffer?"
Jiaying Maki shakes her head and says, "More than aware. I could see her fish and I wanted to know if she was being haunted because being followed by free floating fish is unusual. Especially with how unusual they are." She crosses her arms and looks to the church. She reaches out hesitantly after that little bit and kncoks on the wall lightly. "Well, that doesn't do anything so it's a good start."
"I've never been to a chuch, I didn't know if they were inherently magical or not. I know I can't go into some shrines... especially at a dead run though." Standing on her toes to look inside the church and at the comment, she shrugs again. "Because you can't be everywhere at once and neither can all of the gods? Which gods are you upset with?"
"... Hm. Well, the more you know, right? At least for me, this church seems... mundane, but I have never encountered something or someone magical before her, or you, I guess? But to the other commment... I cannot be mad at something I do not believe exists. Might as well be mad at the Yeti, right?" Stepping back a little leaves Eilam to lean against the wall of the church, propping himself up with his stave. About this point the person he was talking to in the church steps around the corner, "Mr Hisakawa? No such luck. It would seem there are no records." And then vanishes back into the church after going back around the corner. That gets Eilam to let out a sigh.
"That's kind of why I was here, looking for someone I used to know. I heard they might have died since I last saw them, but it is so hard finding records of those kinds of things sometimes."
Jiaying Maki looks over at the church again and was about to make a joke about it when she stops short at the calling out from the guy from inside. That one. Yes. Looking back at the guy, she offers a shrug and says dryly, "What grade are you in to be so cynical?" It's a touch late, but she was lost in thought about the idea of there being no gods. Which really throws her head through a loop since she's all supernatural-like and has a ghost friend. Maybe there's somewhere between?
She offers a brief shrug and asks, "Maybe check for ps-..pseu erh. Look for fake names" She gives up on that word after only a moment.
Eilam laughs at the remark. "I am... I have been around a bit longer than my appearance would imply. I cannot go into too much detail without saying more than I should, since I kind of have to be careful about what I say about myself, but... I am not just being pointlessly cynical. If you want to believe, feel free, but myself? I have no reason to think they exist. If they do after all, they're all quite cruel." The bit about checking for pseudonyms, he assumed she meant, was noted but he didn't quite touch on it.
"Also, about the calling you a thief thing... your choice in actions made me think such. You kind of skulked up and when you were spotted you tried to draw attention away from what you were doing rather suspectly. It was not really intended to be insulting, and I am kind of confused why it bothered you so. Do you really take offense at the idea of being considered a thief?"?
Jiaying Maki crosses her arms and says flatly, "Wouldn't you be offended if I started accusing you of things out of nowhere in a crowded place. Something that could get me banned from stores or questioned by the police? Are you really that disconnected?" She leans in to get a better look at him. "So what are you then? I'll show you my hand if you show yours." And if she believes it. Not that she expects it to work.
She moves to lean against the church, arms crossed and relaxing comfortably, well as comfortably as she can anyway. "I don't think they're cruel by the way. I think they have their own worries."
"I am okay without knowing about you. I do not have to know about whatever magic you know about or can use to see you are not a thief. But disconnected? ...perhaps. I like to keep things about myself private. When they have... gotten out in the past, it was never good, for anyone involved. Myself, or otherwise. You might find out eventually, but for now? Please do not push it." There was a rustle from nearby, Eilam glancing that way. Jiaying would probably hear early it was a set of footsteps, a couple of folks trundling along at their own pace. Possibly drunk, if their gait was any indication. And soon enough they appeared, coming out of the woods from the area between the nearby King Penguin Park and the church. In fact, they're heading right towards the two of them and the church! Eilam didn't quite seem to realize this, though. He didn't have supernatural hearing, he just kind of heard a rustling in the woods nearby.
Jiaying Maki doesn't have supernatural hearing either! Not.. like this anyway. She does have a better view though from where she's being lazy about propping herself up against the building. "See you keep going back to that thief thing. You get hung up on that pretty easy. Do you just assign nicknames to people at will?" She actually seems annoyed, but then there's the distraction of people and she adds, "I'm assuming you're bad at running? Can you go inside the church and lock it or something?" Trying to be maybe a bit quicklike about things. She doesn't want to see a guy with a cane beat up, that's bad form! She pulls something loose from behind her and stuffs it into one of her pockets.
A sigh came out of Eilam as she seemed annoyed, "I just meant I did not think you were... nevermind. Maybe it is a language thing. I mean nothing... bad to you?" He can't really SENSE magic, but he was at least becoming aware that the stuff existed, and enough that he could kind of... get the inclination something was not quite normal. Just what, he did not know. "...no, I cannot run very well, and yes, I could, but if that is the case you should come too. I may look it... but you do not need to protect me. Thank you though. What is wrong?" Eilam did raise away from the wall and look towards the entrance of the church, a little concerned for the clergy fellow that was inside, only to hear the footsteps finally of the three people coming over. A middle-aged drunk type wandering along with a younger less-drunk thug type and a somewhat drunker tattoo'd fella with a leanto mohawk. "That? They magical too?" Strangely Eilam didn't seem all that worried about them. Or, maybe he was just didn't want to leave her alone. Hard to say, as far as his response went. He seemed more focused on Jiaying at the moment than those who were approaching.
Jiaying Maki shakes her head and replies quietly, "Not all bad things are supernatural." before they get too much closer. She kind of ignores the rest of the conversation about the thief thing. She's just touchy about it. She decides not to act right away, hoping maybe if they don't acknowledge them they'll just drunkenly wander off. "It's your choice, not my conscience anymore." For the first time out here, actually feeling even a little threatened she's trying to gather some of her power! She's not great at it, but there is some power of note unfocused as it is.
Eilam does nod at that, looking them over, only to reach over and lightly pat her shoulder. "Should we go, then? No reason to poke the bear." It was a small thing, she might not even notice why he was doing such. But at least to the three who were there, he'd stepped just a tiny bit closer, not even looking at them. Of course, they saw her but didn't quite do anything about it. The drunken middle-aged guy just kept walking, seemingly not even interested. He was busy trying to chat up the younger guy who was walking a little ahead of the other two. It was the drunken Yakuza-looking type, though, who slowed down a bit and stared at the two. At Eilam, then Jiaying. He didn't really say anything at first, just kind of stared.
"What's the holdup?" comes a voice from nearby, tired, annoyed, the younger of the two that'd passed. "Dunno. She's cute and all, but something here just kind of... stands out. Think they're scared of us?" Eilam didn't respond so much as just looking up towards him. He didn't seem scared, but perhaps it was the quiet body language of Jiaying trying to prepare that the fellow picked up on. "..." It was the middleaged drunk guy who spoke up finally, "Oh, hey, that boy must be rich as can be. Those clothes are expensive. ...I know that tailor, my boss buys from them. I have to pick up clothes for him sometimes."
"Ah, so he's got money. How nice, maybe he should share it!" Tattoos muses aloud while the third just kind of shakes his head in a 'ugh not this crap again' manner.
Jiaying Maki looks at the shoulder that was patted. She doesn't flinch away from it at least, which is a good start. She looks oer and asks, "What exactly are you doing?" something of an undertone to keep the others from hearing it.
When they step up, mentioning she's cute there's a moment of happiness that quickly turns to something else even before he follows up with her being scared. They're not dogs, she's fine! Really! Even if she would just run away rather than get into a fight with a couple of drunks.
Keeping her mouth shut, she looks over at the pink haired one, then back to the yakuza-sort. There's a moment about claiming to be Triad, but that would be bad and she can't pull off a white scarf and sunglasses. Instead she response to the comments with, "Wo bu ming bai." and tries to play off not even being able to understand them. Maybe they'll lose interest if they think they can't threaten them! Or she's trying to confuse them. Either way.
When she starts speaking Chinese, that gets a smile out of Eilam. He found that funny. He'd dealt with people before who tried to use 'not speaking that language' as a way out and it amused him. "Mei shen me, mei shen me." Eilam replied softly towards Jiaying only to look towards the guy. "As you can tell..." back to Japanese, "She does not understand you. So please, if you would stop bothering us? It seems you and your friend have been drinking, so... perhaps you can go buy some more on me?" Eilam reaches into his back pocket to pull out his wallet, opening it to take out around two thousand yen to offer the guy to be on his way.
As he was doing that, the guy relaxed a bit, reaching down and letting one hand rest in a pocket, seemingly victorious and happy with being paid off. "Ah, thank you!" says the middleaged guy, happy at the idea of getting another drink. But Eilam /did/ make a bit of a mistake, because with his wallet out, him reaching to take two thousand yen out of the... well, copious amount of larger denomination bills present are also seen. Depending on if Jiaying was actually paying attention to specific things, like what was going on with the others, or Eilams hands as he was taking the money out, or even Eilam or the drunk Yakuza in front of him, there was a sudden movement that Eilam wouldn't really be able to respond to. The Yakuza reaching up with one hand to grab the wallet, and with the hand that was in his pocket, lurching out to punch Eilam in the stomach. Seemingly content to just take his wallet! In fact, unless stopped, he would draw the hand back he punched Eilam with, turn and walk towards his buddies.
Of course, Jiaying would be able to see what Eilam would know quite well - he had a small knife in the hand, which Eilam was just on the receiving end of rather painfully. "He was kind enough to give us all his money! Come on, drinks on me." Seems Jiaying had a choice between worrying about Eilam, or dealing with them, even if they were already starting to wander off.
Jiaying Maki watches him reaching for his wallet to bribe them to go away, which is certainly one option. She had been about to mention that he shouldn't open his wallet so far. She even had a hint of magic trying to obscure just how much money was there, but in her haste all she really managed to do was make the wallet look a touch misty for a moment. Oops. Then the pink haired guy is stabbed and his wallet is stolen. With a quick look around, she drops her disguise entirely, foxy ears and tail on display. She begins making wide gestures, gathering mist to herself until she's obscured and tries to make herself look as monstrous as possible, big fangs and glowing claws, red eyes in black pits, that sort of thing. She's honestly hoping the mix of surprise and being drunk works. Especially since from Eilam's perspective she's standing on her toes and making growling noises while something weird happens in front of her. Whether they run off with the wallet or not after that isn't her issue as she immediately turns around and tries to get a look at the wound while muttering, "Older than I think, dumber than I'd expect." Fumbing in her pack for a moment, she pulls her phone and dials for emergency services while looking for something to keep pressure on the wound. A piece of blank paper, very thick and kind of expensive looking is pulled out and pressed against the wound and she does something behind herself again and suddenly she looks human once more.
Eilam didn't immediately collapse so much as the breath seemed to escape him briefly, staggering a bit in surprise at it. He really hadn't expected... well, that! Most Yakuza types he knew were quite happy to simply get paid to wander away. Wasn't that the Yakuza thing? Bother people for money and leave them alone if they comply? As far as he knew it was. Times change it seems. Though in the pain that came from such a wound, and the commotion that started up, he saw Jiaying start to do... something. Just what, he wasn't entirely sure.
Whatever it was, though, the three who had bothered them let out a sound of confusion before running away, the wallet getting dropped in the chaos as the guy was more worried about 'Oh crap fox demon thing'. Eilam? He started to laugh softly even if there was a pained sound to it. The only real response that was sudden came when she pulled out her phone and started to dial, "N-no! Do not, p-please... no... no calling anyone." It might not seem like a good idea to listen to the freshly-stabbed guy though about not calling people. "I will... be okay. Please. Thank you for worrying." There was certainly blood, he'd already reached to cover it up, but by the time she starts to try and cover it with something it was not even bleeding that heavily! Which was strange, considering what had happened. "I guess you get to... mmph, find out anyways, about me, hm? You... are adorable, by the way. I do not know... what you did, but seeing you try to sound scary..." he started to laugh again, even if he winced while doing such. "Quite huggable. For a thief." the last bit was said with a teasing tone.
Jiaying Maki looks at her phone, just shy of hitting send. It gets pocketed after a moment and she picks the wallet up where it was dropped. She then crouches next to the hurt pink haired guy and holds the wallet out for him to take. Right up until he gets that dig in about a thief again and he'd suddenly find it thrown at his head. He's okay, he's making bad jokes and the wound is healing which means she'll assume he's... what heals quickly. Well she already knows a vampire, maybe he's a vampire. He looks kind of like one.
She puts the tag back in her pack for now, that stuff is expensive! Then she asks dryly, "How long until you're back up to bad jokes, hobbling about and hitting on fish?" She really hopes she doesn't get recognized doing that stunt. I mean they were drunk, she was a scary monster. They won't make a connection to the green haired fox right? She really should have thought that out better.
"Not... long. It hurts a little longer than it might seem. Even if I am used to... that feeling. Maybe I am turning into an animal lover, surrounding myself with cute animals. A fish, a couple of foxes. ... or whatever you are. Hey, I... I know I probably have no right to ask, but please do keep this to yourself?" Eilam reaches down to take the paper she'd pressed against his stomach off and rub it lightly, letting out a soft mmph of annoyance. The shirt, previously a nice shade of pink and quite expensive, was cut and stained with blood, but wasn't bleeding anymore, by the looks of things. He untucked the shirt and pulled it up a little as if to show. Still signs of the blood, but no direct injury. "Perks to my condition." Grabbing at the wallet, Eilam works to push himself back up only to wobble a little as he grabbed for the stave that had fallen to a lean nearby. "Despite it all, still no energy. We should... go elsewhere. Wish to come along while I clean up?"
Jiaying Maki stands up straight and says, "I'm not one of the local foxes if you're asking about that." She doesn't deny it fully, but she doesn't admit to it either. At the comment about the couple of foxes, she asks, "We're similar, but different if you mean who I think you do. She's probably stronger than I am too." Or at least properly trained in using her own abilitie.s She offers her hand out since he seems to be alright and asks, "Are you actually dead? Or... one of those lycanthingies? I can't think of anything else that heals that quick. I know when I Get hurt it's annoying and long term."
"No energy? What kind of energy are you on about?" suddenly rather curious after some recent converations.
"Also, you should consider going into baseball, haha. You... throw pretty good. Then again, maybe my head is just a good target for you!" Her questions, which he made his remark after, got him a little antsy. "I... I am not dead. At least, I don't think I am. I am alive. I mean... I guess being dead would explain why I cannot die, but I breathe, eat, sleep... all that stuff. And as for energy... when I was young, I got sick. The sickness was going to be the death of me. I was healthy when I was young before the sickness and it ate away at my energy slowly until I could barely get around. And... then eventually it just... I do not know how to explain it or what happened. Suddenly I was like I am now, my body healing itself back. Sick as ever, but unable to get better, or worse. Just kind of stuck - if that makes sense? If you have any ideas, I would be happy to hear, but..." Eilam wanders a few steps and sits on a crate that was outside the church, catching his breath. "I guess you could think of me like a phone battery. Always at one percent, never lower, never higher. If something makes it run low, back to one percent. If something charges... back to one percent."
Jiaying Maki brushes herself off for only a moment before replying to the baseball crack, "I like watching it when we were back home. I don't think I'd be a good player though." Watching what she's now figuring is some kind of revenant, she says, "So you're always at the brink of death? Neat. You sound like the opposite side of a ghost. I hit you with a wallet so I do not think you're a ghost though."
Arms crossed, she turns on her heels and says, "You should go get your shirt changed out, it's all bloody and smells funny." Not that she can smell it as much now. "Do you take the energy from others or is it, uh, ambient?" that sounds close enough to what she wanted. "Because I know a vampire that eats what sounds like Yang and I know ghosts that absorb Yang, some that absorb magic in general and a few that just steal life. You're sure you're not a ghost?"
"...vampires are real?" Eilam seemed... a bit surprised. Very surprised. "...does that mean werewolves and all those other kinds of things are real too? No, I do not take others energy. I just kind of ... regenerate? For lack of better terms. And if you are so worried I am a ghost, you are welcome to touch me all you like. I am quite alive, and warm. And solid. Even if you think otherwise." his tone seemed teasing, though he did take her advice, reaching into his pocket to pull out his cell phone, texting someone by the looks of it. Then it goes back into his pocket. "It is not neat, though. It is kind of crappy really. Always being tired, but never being able to sleep? Seeing everything I like or want to enjoy just... decaying around me, growing old and such. Not that fun, no. I would not wish that on anyone."
Jiaying Maki looks at Eilam and says, "You're a zombie and you're surprised vampires are real? I just had a ta-... you're odd." She lets that one just drop right there and leaves it alone. She's also not about to touch him because that's weird and she's already wasted a spell tag today. She raises an eyebrow at that though and asks, "Wait so you see things decaying? Like in real time or were you being flowery?"
"Either way" she continues, "Was it just after you got sick? Did you upset a spirit? I don't know where you were then. So many questions, so few answers."
"Flowery. I was trying to be polite. No one likes to hear me sounding mopey. I was born several hundred years ago... somewhere in Europe, I think. Some small village. I never knew the name, or if I did, I forgot. And I do not know how this came about. It simply... was. And I am not a zombie, Miss Thief." upgraded to Miss. "I am alive. Just... I cannot die." a pause, then softly. "I have tried. Too many times. As have others. I am quite alive. But until recently, I had never seen magic or met anyone, or anything else, that... was like me? If I am even magical. I do not know what my condition is."
Jiaying Maki crosses her arms and says, "Well you're not bouncy enough for me to call you a Jiangshi. I think the undead are still kind of alive too right? I mean that's not that weird a concept." She thinks Norie's alive after all. Sort of. "I would assume you're some kind of magical since you know, not dying and healing quickly. Or you're secretly Canadian and far taller than I imagined." What, She's a nerd! Still, she holds her hands up and says, "Fine fine though, we should stop talking about you being a ghoul so you don't yell at me for being a fox or something. Call me a thief again and I'm taking your stick though."
There was a confused sound out of Eilam as he asked, "Canadian? I have been to Canada, but... I do not get the reference. And I can stop calling you thief, yes, but I would need something else to call you. What would you like? Cute fox? I saw how you acted when that guy earlier called you cute. You seemed happy. Not used to hearing that, or was it something else?" Despite it all, he did seem relaxed, his phone vibrating a tiny bit. He pulled it out to look at it, then put it back in his pocket. My driver is coming to pick me up, should be here in a couple of minutes. I would prefer to take you somewhere else tonight than here, if you would let me? After this... incident, it might not be terribly safe for you here. I do not want to insist, but... please?"
Jiaying Maki shakes her head and crosses her arms immediately at the suggestion of cute fox. "Nope. I have names, those are fine you know." She then stands on her toes to get a peek around while laughing, "However I think I will walk home. It's fine, I'm better at hiding alone and it means my dad's less likely to hear my sneaking back in. Thanks for the offer though I guess."
"Then tell me what I should call you, otherwise I will default to cute fox from now on." Eilam responds. "And sneaking out is a terrible habit." suddenly sounding his age, jokingly adding, "Kids these days." He did seem to be smiling a little, lights coming up around the corner street as he stood, "Walk me to the car, Cute Fox?" He just enjoys needling others it seems.
Jiaying Maki crosses her arms and says, "Maki to be polite, Jiaying is my given name. Don't you dare call me cute fox in public!" She does at least play nice and makes sure he makes it to the car, walking alongside, even if her arms are crossed and she looks a bit annoyed. Pointing to the care, she asks, "That one isn't going to have drunks for you to show off to as well, right?"
"Miss Maki, then. I'll just call you cute in private." As they made their way to the car, he didn't say too much, but the question had him chuckle. "No, no, I imagine they are long gone. The scary cute fox frightened them all away. Thank you for that, by the way. Getting my wallet back. I liked this wallet." And as they got to the car, he attempted to give her a hug. Just a friendly hug, no teasing or whatnot. "Be safe, hm, Maki?"
Jiaying Maki shrugs and says, "Miss Maki is fine." She chooses to ignore the cute part for now. Instead she looks over and asks, "What did you actually see? Because I don't think I did cute for them. They didn't act like it. But, they were drunk and I'm not great at anything that big yet." She could be, she's tying. There's something else though! She does jump at the hug, but returns it after a moment in a purely pat on the back manner before saying, "You as well. I'm heading home for sleep."
"What did I see? I... well, you were kind of foggy, but I thought I saw you trying to make a scary face and swiping motions with your hand. And the sound... maybe it was because you directed it at them and I was by the side? ... do not know. I know little of Magic." And by little he meant nothing. Eilam opened the door and slipped his stave inside only to ask, "You sure you do not want a ride to wherever? It would be free. I would not even charge you a thank you."
