It's a cool summer evening, and with a storm brewing just around the corner, most people are hurrying home for the day. However, a lone figure remains on the clover tower watching the fleeing people, scanning the crowds for a particular pink-haired individual. She does notice one pink haired girl, and at first glance it looks like it may just be Princess Runealy. A spoiled, rich kid in a fancy dress, probably on her way to a prom or something, along with her tuxedo-clad boyfriend. Whatever it is, they reek of wealth and nobility. She simply cant stand nobles!
But there's only one way to find out if this girl is who she thinks she is. The black clad girl with wings of a swan steps to the edge of the tower balcony, and points her bardiche to the sky, summoning bolts of lightning to rain down upon those on the ground. With a scream, people begin to flee in earnest, and yet the bolts seem to follow the pink haired girl in particular, no matter where she goes.
Jiaying Maki is out and about exploring, she wanted to see what the big tower was and why it looked like that one monument! The gathering storm doesn't bother her in the slightest as it's great for someone with a sensitive nose. As she's picking through the crowd she jumps away from someone's miniature dog, sticking her tongue out at it before hurrying out of the area.
She doesn't recognize anyone in the area honestly, though with the sudden bolt of lightning, she looks up quickly and starts to make her way towards cover, not really wanting to be out in a thunderstorm near a big lighting rod and all! Though as she's moving along, following the crowd she notes that the lightning is far from behaving normally. Fighting against the crowd, she forces her way towards the strikes, suddenly glad for the cool weather, gathering mists and other things which means she'll be able to utilize it without making her own! From one step to the next, that mist seems to gather about her, then dissipate, trailing around her, particularly obscuring her facial features, making them look both more animalistic and more human depending on the angle. For now, she tries to stalk the winged one, wondering if it's friend or foe, but kind of suspecting the latter!
Lady Nocturi laughs coldly as she sends the people screaming and scattering below. When the pink-haired girl trips and falls at one point, she narrows her eyes intently upon her, hurling more bolts of lightning down upon her, although her brand of lightning is blood red and cold to the touch, leaving a sense of dark emotions and unpleasantness in its wake.
The girl below shivers as a dark bolt strikes the ground behind her, too close for comfort, and she whimpers, reaching out for the hand of her boyfriend.
Nocturi is so focused on the girl that she barely even notices the foxgirl stalking her. "Hmm, this is more fun than I imagined!"
Jiaying Maki isn't that dense and quickly figures out that the one is you know, directing the red bolts of lighting around. She begins to chant to herself, drawing forth a nice little pre-prepared spell tag. She snaps it free, imbues her magic into it causing it to float before her. It begins to glow and the air around Nocturi begins to get bitterly cold.
The cold doesn't feel normal, it feels like the chill of the dead. She begins running over towards the fallen girl, pulling a blank tag and trying to figure out a way to create a grounding charm, attaching it away from her after she hits it with her palm, burning the needed marks into the paper
What's this? A cold air? Nocturi's eyes narrow angrily as she senses an opposing magic working against her. Fortunately, she is used to the cold due to her own largely cold-based spells. However, being someone else's magic, it's quite uncomfortable and enough to distract her for a bit so that the lightning bolts cease for a moment or two.
"What's this? Who is this girl?" she growls, shaking off the cold after a while, and begins directing lightning bolts towards Nuwu. AT least the foxgirl may have bought time to help the pink haired girl escape!
Jiaying Maki ducks out of the way of the bolts, realizing since they're guided a grounding spell probably won't help. They feel wrong anyway so she's not going to mess with that. One of the bolts strikes dangerously close and her furred tail frazzles out and she calls out, "Hey stop that! What's your problem?!" She starts to move left and right, keeping it erratic, spreading that gathering mist wider and wider to try and make it harder to see anything around her on the ground. She's at more than a little bit of a disadvantage without being able to fly while also trying to keep some pink haired girl unhurt!
She snarls as the foxgirl continues to interfere. "You..Do not interfere, if you value your life. I have no qualms about taking you down as well!" Spreading out her great black wings, she leaps from the tower and glides to the ground, facing the other girl.
Without hesitation, she points her bardiche at the other girl, releasing the wing shaped blade head at Numu, which spins at rapid speeds like a massive bladed boomerang crackling with dark electric energy.
Jiaying Maki kicks her foot into the ground, seemingly creating a gust of wind that blows the mist surrounding her to billow up around her. She ducks out of the way as soon as she sees the swing coming, really hoping it doesn't have some kind of homing capability! She surges forward after the duck, scrambling on all fours for a moment before breaking free of the mist, arm sheathed in grey-green energy shaped like exaggerated claws to swing at her, ears canted back to listen for the axe head to return. One almost feels like this might be a feint rather than a proper attack.
Fortunately the bladed boomerang has no homing ability. It misses Jiaying the first swing, but it arcs around in the air, swinging back towards her on its path to Nocturi.
Nocturi is momentarily caught off-guard as the girl swings at her from the confusing mist, and she staggers back, bringing up her bardiche a moment too late to block the energy claw attack. She gets grazed by the attack, but fortunately manages to block the brunt of it with her pole arm.
However, in the confusion, the pink-haired girl has fled. "You fool! You let her escape! I cannot forgive you for this!" and stepping back, Nocturi beats her wings rapidly, attempting to clear away the mist as she retrieves the bladed wing, catching it on the end of her pole.
If Jiaying isnt hit by the bladed wing on its way back, she points her polearm at the girl again, unleashing another bolt of chain lightning at the girl. "Begone!"
Jiaying Maki actually looks surprised as she manages to land a hit on the winged one. She cries out, "Wait really?" before yelping in surprise as the blade cuts across her shoulder, leaving that strange cold feeling. She tenses up and sucks her breath in through her teeth, then quickly shakes her arm out and dances back out of the way. "Of course I let her escape, that was the plan. Why are you attacking random people?!"
She swings her arms left, then right, bring the mist back up and around the two of them, trying to make the other's job that much harder in hitting her. She ducks left, then to the right and starts to wind up like she's going to throw a punch, then ducks past Nocturi, using her tail to try and pull her foot out from underneath her. Her tail feels cold, much like the spell from earlier, almost numbing to the touch! Whether she got away with it or not, she spins to face Nocture.
Her eyes grow cold, anticipating the mist attack now and she flaps her wings again, hovering above the mist as she peers around for the pink haired girl. Who is long gone by now.
"Dammit, you made me lose her! You fool!" she grits her teeth, flapping higher into the air. Well, she'd better go look for her. "Princess Runealy is no random stranger, but a murderess whose foolishness and selfishness led to the deaths of many people, including my family! I will have my revenge..And you wont stop me!" a last glance below as she unleashes one last flurry of chain lightning on the girl before she leaves, flying up into the sky until she's a mere dot, hidden by the stormy skies and mists.
Jiaying Maki calls up at the girl, "Show me the truth and I'll help you with that!" Hey, if it's true, she'll happily help drag someone in. Not that she really believes it, what with that really evil feeling of the lightning. Speaking of the lightning, she yelps and dances out of the way each, getting a few singed and burnt edges between the bolts. Shaking her hands a few times, she seems to be muttering to herself in chinese.
Looking around, she hesitates for a moment and starts to follow after until she's disappeared. Maybe she should contact someone and ask them to look out for pink haired girls. And Eilam, she should probably warn him, he looks close enough.
