The Church is actually quite quiet at this time of night, as one might expect. And largely empty, except one person. A rainbow-haired teenage boy who was currently asleep from the look of things, sitting at a somewhat lazed slouch and resting with his head against the back of the pew. While he was as well dressed as always, todays choice a white shirt with his black suit, the coat of his suit was taken off and laying beside him. A closer look would reveal he had actually had his right side and arm cut somehow, signs of a fight, blood and whatnot present, but the injuries since healed.
Jiaying Maki looks rather tired, one gets the feeling she's had a string of late nights lately. She looks happy though, so there's that. Her phone is out and she's messing around with it, clearly texting someone back and forth. Jia's wearing comfy looking clothes tonight, a loose blouse, jeans and shoes with a bucket hat covering her ears. Rounding the corner, Jia makes her way towards the church and stops at the door. It looks like she's probably waiting for someone. Or texting someone again since she does look a touch distracted.
Norie Okana arrives into a flash of dark mist around the corner and walks around. She looks sad, upset. She puts away a phone and looks up and frowns heavily. "Let's go inside..." she says as she gently pushes the door open and walks inside to see....
Eilam-san?
She blinks and walks along the aisle and peeks at Eilam softly. She sort of leans a finger out to poke at him experimentally...
"You alive?" she asks. Stupid question. Of course he is. If he was to be belived.
No real response at first, though he did move a little. Finally though he did seem to let out a sound and open his eyes enough to look around. "...you...?" There was some amount of confusion in his voice as to why he was seeing Norie. Oh, right, he'd come to the Church in hopes of finding someone he knew to get some answers, but no one was here and...
"Slow night, kind of tired. Am I... in your way?" He hasn't quite yet realized Jiaying was there too. In fact, he's still kind of exhausted.
Jiaying Maki makes her way into the church behind Norie, not commenting on anything yet after that kind of greeing. She closes the door behind her carefully, then steps quickly into the main area, standing on her toes about to say something, but stops shy of that when she sees a rainbow. Norie pokes him and she hisses, "H-hey he's napping. Or he didn't make it into his coffin." Then he's awake and she calls out, "Good morning!"
Then she gives Norie a concerned look and finds a pew to settle down at, scooting in a touch so she can sit as well if desired.
Norie Okana blinks once softly. "Huh? No. I came here. Because I'm depressed." she frowns. "I was going to meet Jiaying here. and talk." she says softly and quietly to herself as her eyes look over to Jiaying.
She looks back to Eilam. "What's with the hair?" she asks softly. "It's...."
"Bright?" she asks with a deadpan blink.
Eilam closes his eyes again and leans back, snorting softly as he did. "A disease ate away at my body, and my stamina, something keeps me alive still. I am not dead, or a vampire, thank you. But I have the feeling you know that, Jiaying. And..." he really did just seem tired, "...earlier, explosion at the harbor. I was nearby. Some... woman with magic, and others... caused a problem? I do not know what exactly happened but I think they were being held there, and they escaped. Some woman with magical daggers. Either of you... know about that?"
Then under his breath, "Bright hair, bright mood. Helps... make me feel happier."
Jiaying Maki shakes her head and says, "I have no idea about exploding people, I've been at home working on a project." Well, texting someone and occasionally remembering she wanted to test a theory out. She doesn't mention that because she's not thinking that way, so hah! "What did the daggers look like? Maybe I can find out more from there? - Though I guess the woman's important too if they're wielded. Huh." She looks to Norie, offers a shrug and asks softly, "What happened on your end Norie?" Then she frowns and adds, "If you still want to talk" while subtly glancing towards Eilam. She stifles a yawn after and rests her chin on the back of her seat.
Norie Okana purses her lips...women with daggers...
"Not a description I know, sorry." she says as she crosses her arms and frowns at Jiaying. "Nothing...just. Got in a fight earlier... stupid... jerk... jerks.... whatever." she says throwing her hands up in a giant huff.
"Still pondering what we talked about last time..." she says crossing her arms.
"About running away..." she mutters.
For the moment, Eilam didn't say much, just listened to the others to try and get an idea of what was going on. "Would you... like a hug?" he asked, towards Norie. "Fights are not fun, for those that care at least."
Jiaying Maki gives Norie a curious look, but doesn't press the issue for now. She slides out of the pew and tries to hide the fact that she's stretching out to wake up. She glances to Eilam and says, "For those that care?" Seeming honestly confused by the turn of phrase. She makes her way to Norie and says quietly, "Have you given your options more thoughts?"
Norie Okana frowns. "I don't...want... a hug right now. I'm sorry Eilam-san." she says softly.
She looks down as she slides next to Eilam at least in the pews. She just looks down and looks to Jiaying. "I dunno. I don't really have anywhere to go.. anyone to be.." she looks back down. Before she talks to Eilam.
"I almost... did something bad to my brother. I still haven't been home in days. I imagine you'll be seeing the missing persons reports soon." she says softly.
"Unless I make up my mind." she says softly to Eilam.
Well, that was something he expected would happen sooner or later. While he didn't know the /most/ about Norie's situation, she had told him enough. "No need to apologize. Not to me, at least. It is your choice in the end, but it sounds like you have those who would be happy to be around you, or help you."
Despite talking, Eilam didn't really move. He was still a bit too exhausted to really make much of himself at the moment. "And what I meant about not caring... I think she would get that more. For those of us... who live forever, it is up to us if we care, or not, about what happens."
Jiaying Maki still looks utterly confused by his description of what he means. Eventually she writes it of as being too tired and instead just shakes her head while asking, "Have you taken to using this place as a hideout as well Eilam?"
She scoots over and settles down closer to Norie, quiet for the time being. Lookingdown at the ground, she eventually says, "You've said you've got the means. Maybe with the right contacts we can write up a- A release stating that you're moving into an apartment on your own for school related purposes. If you're going to do it." She's not even going to try and suggest staying, that's not her call and in this case she kind of understands the desire.
Norie Okana shakes her head. "My parents will never agree to that." she says softly as she crosses her arms across herself. "Besides... if I was living alone... Then I'd be even more alone than I feel." she says softly as she keeps her arms wrapped around herself.
"If I stayed at the UMBRA dorms, I could just hide there. No one would look there." she says with a frown as she closes her eyes.
"And I'd have others there at least, to talk to.. if not a lot of super friendly people..." she says softly.
"I just..."
"I don't know...."
Eilam could feel himself starting to lose the battle against the need to sleep, but decided to simply wait, because he could see Norie needed help. And while he couldn't offer the most help, he could at least listen. "How about instead of deciding for yourself, you let your friends decide for you. Not your family, your friends. They want to be around you because they care about you. If you trust them... trust them. Because I truly think you trust your friends more than yourself."
And then he fell silent again. Though in truth he finally just kind of passed out again as he reclined on the pew as he was. If the other two there noticed or not was another matter, but chances are he wouldn't have much else to say unless prodded awake again.
Jiaying Maki shakes her head and says, "I never said your parents had to agree to it. It's- building on you running away." She seems uncomfortable, but there's only so much you can really do in this case. Though suddenly, "Wait wait, what's Umbra and if they're bad people. You can spend a night or two at my place I'm sure. We'll have to work something out. Maybe we can find other options, roommates or something."
Eilam's given a curious look and she murmurs, "To the side, I think he's getting worse. I haven't seen him stay awake past 5 minutes at all lately even while talking. He seems unkillable, but maybe he's shutting down?"
Norie Okana frowns and looks to Eilam. "I just need... to figure... things... out...." she says slowly and delibratly as she presses her teeth together. She sounded... frustrated. Not angry. Just. Frustrated and upset.
She frowns. "....crap." she says. "Did I...."
Nrg. "I can't talk about it. Sorry. They're who I work for. Riventon-san." she says softly at Jiaying.
She purses her lips. "I... um. But won't your father have something to say about that?" she asks with a blink. "Or...."
"Is he not in Tokyo..?" she asks curiously with pursed lips.
She looks back to Eilam and frowns. "He's just weak. He'll be fine." she says matter of factly.
Jiaying Maki scowls at the response she gets and says, "You're going to make me do more research." Arms crossed, she drops that subject for now. "He's up north for a research trip, something about getting the backgrounds right. I don't think he'd mind anyway, he's used to strangeness by now. I didn't even get grounded for being lit by funny fire. Did sort of get in trouble for how many days I skipped."
She taps her fingers together, "We can grab your futon, we might have a spare somewhere. Either way."
Norie Okana seems super awkward when she says... "Yeah.. funny fire..." she says softly. She bites her lip and frowns. "You won't learn anything about that." she says matter of factly.
"Please... keep out of it." she says more pointedly, perhaps actually warningly.
She frowns. "Alright..." she says softly as she looks over to Eilam.
She nudges him.
"Hey..." she says.
"Shouldn't you go home?" she asks him.
