It's been a Really. Long. Week. An exceptionally challenging week, and Naru has slid herself into a booth at the Crown to cope with this week in a time honoured tradition.
One milkshake glass is already empty, and the second is in progress. It seemed to work for Daisuke, so she's giving it a try as she absently doodles in a notebook. Inevitably there's a Jadeite lurking somewhwere, keeping a quiet eye upon Naru, because it really has been /that/ kind of a week. Tracker or not.
The cafe is fairly quiet, there's not a lot of people this late at night, most folks have already gone off home.
Yuzuki Amemori has shown up to the crown after a small show, which means she's still wearing most of her getup from said show. This means she's wearing a hoodie, compelte with a larger than expected hood, a red painter's mask splashed with white paint and a pair of sunglasses perched on her head. The hoodie itself is decorated with what looks like grafitti up the arm and across the back, ending with a sleeping chibi and rolled spraypaint cans surrounding her, a pair of shorts and a heavy pair of boots. She's at least ditched most of the chemlight toys she had wrapped around her arms, neck and scattered around. Under one arm is a laptop, reinforced in one of those carrying cases that doubles as a docking station.
Shifting from foot to foot to some beat from her headphones, she steps up for her shake, getting a double chocolate shake with cherries and a glass of water. The strap for her case is slung over her shoulder after and she settles down behind Naru at the next table over, making more noise than she had expected. Looking sheepish, she says over her shoulder, "Sorry about that."
And somewhere, nearby, a very blatantly non-asian boy in dark-blue jeans and a white button-up shirt has slipped his way in. One hand stuck into the pocket of his jeans through the most of his traverse through the building, up until he comes upon one of the arcade machines nearby the two girls. At least these things are more or less universally understandable to Alexis. Mostly, anyway. The german boy slots one coin into the machine, and sets himself to hammering awya at the buttons and joystick. Judging from the mildly sour look on his face, he may or may not be trying to mostly distract himself from... something. Maybe the bandaid set horizontally over the bridge of his nose has something to do with it. At least he's distracted enough that he didn't recognize Yuzuki from afar over there.
Naru startles at the noise from Yuzuki, turning to look. She smiles after only a moment and shakes her head. "Oh, no problem." She quirks her head, catching just the beat out of the headphones, if little else. "Sugar high is probably not helping my jumpy." She chuckles softly, a gentle self depricating tone.
The arrival of a european boy into the Crown draws attention. Because it's unusual enough to draw the eye, and Naru is no exception. She watches Alexis settle at one of the machines, and distract himself with a game. She reaches for her milkshake, going for a bit of her own distraction.
Yuzuki Amemori takes a sip of her milkshake. Which turns into a long pull of the milkshake because chocolate and sugar after a long show. Then there's water after, because long show as well. Computer is opened up with a pair of latches, she fiddles around in her pocket to shut the music off and instead plugs the headphones into the laptop and begins to do some editing of her music on the fly. Which from her headphones mostly just sounds like the same segments played over and over while she adjusts volume, tempo and even instrument use. "Let me know if it's too loud?" she says, looking over her shoulder at Naru. Then she spots a familiar face.
Laughing, she raises a hand, showing off the fingerless gloves she was wearing and calls out, "Heeeey! How's the nose?" totally not teasing the guy. She stops quickly, realizing that it was probably kind of mean and that she had just asked if she was being too loud with music and then added to it. "Sorry again." she says quickly while sitting back down.
There's plenty loud sounds in the arcade, so Yuzu's call doesn't immediately register -- not until the word 'nose' comes along, and it distracts him enough to peek back over his shoulder to the source of the voice.
And in that exact moment, the words GAME OVER come up on the screen.
This is followed immediately after by something approximating a curse in german and a kick of the boy's foot against the machine before he turns away from it in frustration, hands stuck into his pockets and all while he sulks towards Yuzu's table.
"It's healing," he claims before he's even very close, ending up with his voice booming out loudly. "I'm not bleeding anymore at least."
By the blink and the little bit of a smirk on Naru's face, she probably understood that curse in german. She looks between the two of them a moment. "What happened to your nose?" she asks, her voice edged with curiosity. "I'm glad it's healing, though."
Yuzuki's computer and music is distracting too, and Naru ooohs as she watches. "You're a musician?" She asks of the other girl. "That looks really complicated."
Apparently 'too loud' isn't so much of a problem, as Naru doesnt comment on the noise as she sips from her milkshake.
Yuzuki Amemori opens up one of the loops she was working on, listening to all three sources of sound without seeming to have too many problems. The kick and cursing gets a snrk from her even if she's not sure what was actually said. German all sounds angry anyway right? "It was bleeding after the fact?" Click click click, "Didn't I tell you to go to the hospital if it was doing that?"
Smiling over her shoulder after, she says to Naru, "I am! Had a really strange show on the beach the other day, tonight's was a lot smaller and one I'm a lot more comfortable doing music for!" She spins in her seat to get a better look at Naru and manages a grin, "What kinds of art do you do?" having noted the notebook. There's a pause, then, "Oh and I'm Yuzuki Amemori, nice to meet you?" One more pause, "And I'll let him introduce himself. I'd mangle the name."
"I didn't say that!" Alex claims immediately with a grumble of a sound in his throat before he comes up standing right by Yuzu, frowning. With his relatively broad shoulders and his particular stance might make him look a little threatening if one hasn't seen him before, but...
"I got kicked in the face," he says immediately after to Naru, with an entirely deadpan tone. Like there's *nothing* weird about that.
There is just a little shift on the edges of things as an older boy straightens a little, keeping a closer eye on the trio when Alexis approaches to where Naru and Yuzuki are.
Naru ers softly to Alexis. "Well that sucks." She declares with a sympathetic tone. "Did you at least kick them back? Tokyo can be.. kinda dangerous." She reaches for her milkshake with a slow sigh.
"Nice to meet you, Yuzuki. I'm Naru Osaka." Naru introduces herself with a slightly fainter smile after Alexis' declaration. "What sort of strange show at the beach?" She glances to her sketchbook and then back up. "Mostly just sketches, but I also paint, and I've been comissioned to do a mural at a friend's apartment. I'm pretty stoked about that, and kinda nervous."
Yuzuki Amemori doesn't seem at all concerned about Alexis as he steps up. "Relax, stop looking so tense!" she grins at him, then nudges the chair across from her out while looking at Naru, "I didn't know it was a kick, but he ended up chatting. Funny stuff!"
She turns her chair and scoots back, making it easier to see both as she talks and continues, "A mural? Big one? Sounds kind of intimidating." Then there's the question about the show. "Some really strange guests, ninjas, a tapir, someone cosplaying as a unicorn. I mean I know EDM music draws out some strange sorts, but that was something new." Which is a good cover for, 'magical shenanagins.' right?
"I'm not tense, this is just how I am!" Alex claims in turn, although... he immediately seems to end up subconsciously adjusting his stance just a bit. "I'm not *that* funny..." Grump.
"Oh." Realization hits in, and he looks to Naru. "'Sup," he lets, and jerks a thumb up to point at himself, continuing in his obviously-accented japanese, "My name is Alexis Raskoph." Okay, the last part wasn't accented. Technically. But still. "I punched them back at least. For whatever that's worth." He also elects to neglect mentioning that he was also punched back several times. Who knows.
"Have a seat, if you'd like." Naru gestures at the rest of her table in invitation to Alexis. "Do you want anything? I'm trying to drown this week in milkshakes, but I'm not finding it works nearly as well as Daisuke had lead me to believe. Pleasure to meet you." Naru pauses a moment and then asks. "Are you an exchange student, or did your family move here?" She smiles a touch and nods. "Worth something at least, I tried to beat the snot out of the .. guys.. who jumped me with my book bag. I expect you got further than I did."
"Big enough.. most of the living room." Naru explains to Yuzuki and there's a little nod about the intimidation factor. "At least it's mostly just paint. If it really sucks, I can paint over it and do it again." There's an arch of a brow at the mention of 'ninjas, cosplaying unicorns and strange guests'. "I /see/. Interesting."
Yuzuki Amemori tries to mimic the scowl and says to Alex playfully, "Totally funny enough though." She drapes her arms over the back of her chair and watches back and forth between the two. "He's nice despite the scowl."
Laughing, face back to normal she nods to Naru quickly, "Most of the living room? That's- going to take months isn't it? Or are you hiring a team for that?" The eyebrow arch though. She keeps a perfectly straight face as she says, "Still not the weirdest costumes I've seen at a party." Definitely the weirdest party otherwise though.
"I'm not--" Alex starts trying to insist right away, but rather than completing the statement, he instead slaps his hand along the side of his face to force the aforementioned scowl to go away. before he looks to Naru again, and actually takes up the invitation to bring himself to slump down into the booth. "Came here withparents," he explains. "I guess I am transfer student now too. Enrolled me to Verone." Eyes blink slowly, and he peeks over to Yuzuki curiously. "...This... the 'cosplay' thing?"
"It's not /that/ much of a scowl." Naru comments to Yuzuki with a sidelong glance to Alexis and a little chuckle, teasing him gently. "Just a little." She nods at the question about the living room. "I have a thought that it might never actually finish.. but months, yeah. Especially as I don't work on it all the time, in sort of bits and pieces when I'm over at the apartment anyhow, and all I'm doing is sketching for the time being."
"Verone.. mmm.. lessee.. I think Daisuke goes to Verone. Oh!" Naru smiles and nods. "Rei does too, for that matter. I go to Seishou." She explains with a little shrug and then she goes bakc to drinking her milkshake. "I'm still trying to picture unicorn cosplay, personally."
Yuzuki Amemori watches the boy slap himself and asks, "That's not what caused the accident, right?" then chocolate chocolate shake time. Because she clearly needs sugar as she's starting to come down after being up in front of a crowd all night, albeit a small one. "Sounds like a fun project! Is it at like, a manor house, that kind of thing?"
The school chat gets a shrug, "I only know other Infinity students myself, sorry- though it sounds like Osaka-san here has a pretty good grasp on other students!"
"Pft!" Alex sounds out indignantly at the continued teasing, and even crosses his arms over his chest. GRUMP.
"I don't really know anyone there," he says, in regards to the school, though. "OR anyone in the city in general. Except for her--" He gestures towards Yuzu. "And her friend. Haru, right?"
"Knowing at least a little bit about a lot of people is an occupational hazard of having been friends with Usagi for basically forever. She knows everyone." Naru explains to Yuzuki with a grin and then she gestures to Alexis. "You know me now too. At least a little. I could introduce you to Rei, or Daisuke if you want, then you'd know someone at school."
"A friend has a big apartment, and he wants something interesting in the living room. Ergo, I get to paint." Naru explains to Yuzuki with a smile. "I am looking forward to it, now that the renovations are almost done, I can get started."
Yuzuki Amemori drums her fingers along her chin as she watches the two converse about knowing people. "I wouldn't mind meeting people from other schools. I need to-" she tries to think of the girl's name, "I need to meet with Seishi, I don't remember which school she goes to though so this is going to be a good fine mess."
Glancing over at Alexis, she beigns laughing and asks, "Why not get to know people, smile and do some other things like talk to cute girls at the crown?" Back to NAru she asks, "An apartment? Ooph, I'd be afraid to paint something that big at a place like an apartment. What happens when they leave, right?"
"...I guess so," Alex allows to Naru's offer, and his head dips downwards slightly for a moment where he considers. "They about my age? I'm just going to start... I guess it's grade ten here, right? Yeah." His head rises up with that, and Yuzu's laugh directs his gaze towards her with more of a bemused glint in his green irises. "I smile plenty!" He protests, and then squints his eyes for a few seconds. "...But aren't I already doing th--" Lip-purse. Lookaway. "...Nevermind."
"Mmmm." Naru is thoughtful at the mention of a new name and then she shakes her head. "I don't think I've met a Seishi, sorry. I can ask Usagi if she knows, she might."
"Well, they own the apartment, so I don't think they plan to move anytime soon." Naru points out with a smile and then adds. "Besides, if they /do/ decide to move, then we paint it something boring to sell it, and I'll paint something new wherever they move to. I don't expect it to last forever, it's a mural."
"Daisuke is one ahead, and Rei is one behind you, I think." Naru mmms softly, trying to remember. "I'm not sure about Daisuke, to be honest. He might be in your class." There's a bit of a smirk at the protest out of Alexis and his squinting comment. "Smiling is fairly optional, the sense of humour is important though."
Yuzuki Amemori shakes her head and smiles, "I didn't know her until the concert myself, but it should be fun getting to know that group. Fun indeed!" She grins after, having gotten the German boy to blush again. She leans over and says in a stage whisper, "You should have seen it when it was Haru-chan and I teasing him at the same time."
"Smiling's not optional, don't tell him that!" Well it is totally optional, but that's not as funny at this point! "Do you know anyone who goes to Infinity aside from myself Osaka-san?"
"I *heard* that," Alex grumbles and... actually sticks his tongue out. At both of them. Pbbbhtht!
At least, he unfolds his arms finally and lets them rest on top of the table instead, eventually. "...I guess I will find out soon enough," he says to Naru, tipping his head sidewards slightly in an oddly dog-like gesture. "Do you just, like... know *everyone*, then?"
"Infinity? Absolutely. Mamoru goes to Infinity, so does Takashi for that matter." Naru smiles easily, thoughtful, and a brief glance to Jadeite, checking to see if he wishes to admit to attending the school as well, but he keeps to his looming, staying out of the conversation.
The raspberry prompts Naru to reach out, trying to make a grap for his tongue, if he's going to stick it out at her. She's not /that/ quick at least. "I dont' know /everyone/. I didn't know either of you two before this evening, but I do talk to a lot of people. I generally like meeting people.
Naru's phone goes bing, and she digs it out of her pocket to check. A few little tappings reply to the text. "I should get going though." She grins to both of them. "Nice to have met you, both. Hopefully we run into each other again.. and if I dont see you before school starts, I hope it goes well for you, Alexis!"
Yuzuki Amemori waves to Naru and says, "See you around Osaka-san!" though there's a brief pause while she adds, "I wouldn't go grabbing strange boy's tongues too often. Especially one with a broken nose~" She laughs again, seeming to be enjoying herself even as she finally starts to settle down. Another sip of chocolate, noting the head tilt. "Some people talk a lot! She's cheerful, outgoing, able to talk to a grouch~"
Alex's tongue snaps back into his mouth, and his head likewise snaps backwards just TO MAKE SURE he avoids the catch-attempt of Naru, eyes widening out in mock-shock. "U-...uhm..." He mumbles uncertainly while he watches her stand up. "You... too..." Blink. Blink.
He ends up watching after her for a moment while she's walking away, before his head eventually turns, slooooooooooowly, to direct his eyes to Yuzuki. "...I'm not a grouch."
Yuzuki Amemori closes her laptop and swirls her drink around, taking a moment to drink all of her water down. "You're fun to tease, you know that?" Water gone, she then focuses on her shake. "SO are you looking forward to meeting your fellow students here soon~?"
"I have *no* idea what you are talking about." Alex tries his very damn best to look innocent when he says such. It probably doesn't work a whole lot.
With her question, he turns his head to the side -- not out of blushing this time, but rather to direct a thoughtful squint off to the far-off horizon. Such as a wall might be. "I don't know," he admits. "I have never been in any given school longer than a year with how much my parents move around and drag me along with them."
Yuzuki Amemori twirls her finger around and laughs, "Oh you don't do you? I'll have to double down on my efforts. It's funnier that way anyway!"
Further teasing aside, she leans forward and asks, "That kind of life rough? Why did they move around so much, business? Do you at least keep in contact with pen pals or anything like that?"
Alex's eyes twitch over towards Yuzu. Is that actual *worry* that glints in his eyes briefly. Maybe. Just a little bit. Double-down of teasing is very serious, you see.
"Business more or less," he answers to her question, though. "Dragged me around everywhere. Most times I didn't really get to get close enough with people for them to keep in touch after. I still hear from people from my childhood town sometimes, at least, but..."
Yuzuki Amemori rests her chin on her hands while working on the rest of her shake. "So why not request to stay here? You can get help with living alone as a student, you might have to work, but it would let you stay in one place for the last two years of school right?"
That look of worry just gets an impish grin. Totally going to have to tease the poor big guy.
"...I was going to say I don't think they would let me, but I am actually not sure the would actually much care in the end," Alex mutters after a few seconds of consideration. "I don't know. Depends how long they even plan to stay here in the first place, I guess. I have only been here for a week now, anyway, so I don't even know yet if I would want to stay here specifically."
And the grin? That's met with another suspicious squint. Squuuuuuuuuuint.
