There is a hospital room. It is the same room that Eilam visited her in last time when she was still in the coma. Only this time, she's up! She's still hooked to some sort of beeping machine because she only just woke up a day or so ago, and they wanna make sure she's okay.
She looks kind of grumpy about this, but she's holding a new Chroma Prism in her hands. It looks a little different than her old one. It has more corners. It sparkles and shines like the old one, but it's also filled with tiny swimming abstract koi, which is new. She purses her lips as she seems to be pondering this.
"I should.. really. Make Naru a thank you card..." she says under her breath as she lays back in the bed.
Roy is here too. Roy is fussing over Reiko since she woke up, pretty much doting and doing what he can to make her current time in her bearable.
Once again in hospitals. Eilam disliked hospitals. He never went. For any reason. Except her, not that she knew that. He still felt terrible about her getting hurt like this and there being nothing he could do. And today was a bad day as well, so trying to lie to doctors/try to convince them to leave him be even though it was fairly obvious he was in bad shape. Thankfully he was still able to walk around. At least a bit. Which is why he paused outside of the door before knocking on it lightly.
"Reiko?"
Reiko Touyama looks to the door and blinks. "Huh? Come in." she says. She sounds a little groggy and sleep-like still. "Oh...! Eilam-kun. Is that you?" she asks, the tone of her voice hightening a little.
"Oh. Right yeah. Come in. It's fine. It's just me and... Roy here." she says softly.
"No one else. And this beepy machine."
*beep. beep. beep.*
Eilam makes his way inside, his attire still fairly... dressy, but informal, considering it was him. Slacks and an untucked dress shirt, no tie, hardly much buttoned as far as sleeves go. Rolled up cuffs, a button or so undone at the neck. "You are... awake. I was worried that... after all the time I have been around, it would come to my realization that there was nothing that could be done. But here you are." he was obviously quite tired, but still managing. "Is there anything I can do for you?" He left that intentionally open-ended as he moved near to the bedside. That flowery fragrance was easily noticed, perhaps a bit too liberally applied, or maybe even something used to wash his clothing with. The clothes did look quite fresh.
Reiko Touyama does smell the odd floral scent, but she doesn't remark on it, but it is a little strong for her senses which are still dull. It wakes them up, if anything. She tries to give a smile. It's a little weak. "Eh-heh.. sorry, Eilam-kun. I'm still a little groggy. I had.. to have Roy recount the events before... I fell into that sleep.. before I remembered what happened." she says.
She looks head tilts. "I'm sorry I worried you.. and everyone." she says guiltily. "I was caught off guard when.. Hiroko..." she trails off a bit as she looks down at her Prism.
"This is my new Prism... it's different. Naru-chan... created new ones for us." she says softly. She gently puts it back around her neck and down her shirt.
"Huh?" she asks and shakes her head. "No, I don't need anything right now." she says silently. "I'm fine. I think." she says.
"Please be sure to get a fair bit of exercise. Though it hardly matters for me... I have seen a lot of others over the years who get weak and lose a bit of themselves when they are bedridden too long. Go outside, be happy, but do not forget to work out for at least the next month or so to get your strength back. Also..." Eilam pauses to look towards Roy. "What I left here for her... where is it? Has she already received it, or..." Of course, he was talking about the gift-wrapped box which contained a necklace/bracelet(see: Wrapping it several times over) which he had made for her, a gift for the art show if she won(or consolation if she lost).
After a moment Eilam took a step back before moving to take a seat in a nearby chair, letting out a soft breath as he did.
Reiko Touyama sighhhs. "Grandpa's already given me the lecture yeah, but that's okay because I walk around a lot anyways. Really. I'm mostly fine and I want out of here but like, Doctors and... mundane treatments and stuff." she sighs a bit. "As far as they know I just woke up out of a three week coma because I fainted due to low blood sugar or blood pressure or something like that." she mutters.
Roy looks confused. "Gift?" he asks. "Oh, um. Gigi, did say something. About a box um...." Roy flaps his wings to the small stand beside the bedside and opens it. Indeed, there's the box. "There it is. I think." yeah that's it. Roy flaps up to the top of Reiko's hospital bed post.
Reiko blinks a moment and reaches out and then squints at Eilam. "You got me a gift?..." she asks softly as she reaches for the box and takes it into her hands.
"I did. I had intended to give it to you at the hotel, for when you won. But things interrupted. So I wished to give it to you now. You do not have to open, or accept it, but I wanted you to know that your friends do think of you. As do I." Inside the box was a long charm necklace that could double as a bracelet if wrapped several times around. Ornate, rather fine, orange sunstone, red rubies, yellow topaz and white pearl scales resembling those of Koi. They were all strung together in such a fashion that it looked like a band of scales.
A bit gaudy, but what young girl doesn't like gaudy?
Reiko Touyama head tilts and bites her lip. "Oh... that's right. I.. won." she blushes with a huff. "I totally forgot...!" she says. She sort of seems to shrink at totally forgetting that. "Um..." she sort of fiddles with the wrapping a bit, unwrapping it until she gets to the box and she opens it.
She blinks a bit as she takes it out and blushes. "W-wow. That's. Very pretty Eilam." she says with a blush. "Can... I really accept this?" she asks meekly. It looks kind of well. Expensive.
Girls probably shouldn't be wearing expensive things from boys. It /infers/ something. But she still blushes at it regardless. She purses her lips a bit at it in thought as she holds it up to the light a moment, to let it shine through the gems on it.
"If you wish to, it is your choice. It is a gift, not me forcing something on you. A gift is hardly a gift if it is forced, right?" Eilam smiled at that, just a bit. "You did win. And you deserved it. I would have gotten you something more enjoyable, perhaps some fish plush, but when I realized color had returned... I had to see if you had too."
Reiko Touyama nods. "My friends... went to.. um..." she says. "Some place? To get it back. I'm super jealous. I've been wanting to visit another world for ages." she says with a hrmph. "Still I mean. I can't be /angry/ though." she says. "Just jealous." she says with a flush.
She muses on the necklace and decides to try it on. Yup. It's pretty~. "Mmmm. I'll keep it." she says a little bashfully.
"...Yeah." she says softly. "I'm.. tied to. My color. All the Prism Keepers are like that." she says softly. "Yellow. and Pink and Blue..." she says softly.
"So when my Chroma Prism was recreated. I woke up too with my color." she nods matter of factly.
He listened, then something caused him to feel a bit amused. "Your birds there suggested, by the way, that you might be woken up with a kiss. I think they have been reading too many fairy tales. Though I forget who it was, someone made a good point that you would probably kill anyone who bothered trying while you were too out of it to appreciate it." Eilam stretched a bit, "But now that you are awake again, I imagine you would hardly appreciate it anymore. Pity. I think one of them was looking around for someone to volunteer to try and wake you up."
Teasing her was always enjoyable. Plus it was nice to know she was better now.
'Your birds there suggested, by the way, that you might be woken up with a kiss.'.
*sputter, coughing fit* "What!?" she says with a suddenly severe blush. "Did.. did someone try!?" Roy sort of looks entirely guilty. "No. No one tried. We were trying to lighten the mood until.. we could fix it." he mutters guiltily.
She sort of still keeps that blush as she huffs and wants to hide under her covers now. Yup. She's still Reiko.
She doesn't hide though. "Ugggghhhhh." she says.
"I can already picture... Ayana trying to gather everyone she thinks I'm dating to try and-- ugh!!!" she goes!
The light smile remained on Eilam's face before he coughed softly a few times and took a slow, deep breath. "I should probably leave soon, but I wanted to come and make sure you were well. But perhaps you should write a directive now, so next time you fall unconscious from magical means, you can state who you want kissing you to get you back up." He was horrible. "I mean if I had to pick who I would like a kiss from, I am uncertain if I could. You are practically the only girl around the area and at the school I enjoy being around in any capacity, now that I think about it. I mean, there are others I talk to, but..."
But what? He wasn't sure himself as he trailed off a little while thinking about that.
Reiko Touyama does blush a bit and huff! "Some sort of.. romantic magical coma will!? That's super silly. But. I guess. It makes sense. I mean." she mutters softly. She looks up and blinks. "Well I know you have to go, you get tired and stuff and I'm /really/ going to have a hard time explaining away the really nice necklace if you also fall asleep in that chair and I'll never hear the end of it." she huffs.
She head tilts. "But...?" she asks. "I mean. I try to be nice? That's about all I try." she smiles. "I mean. Sometimes. I'm not." she says.
"But... friends let friends have bad days, nee?" she asks.
"But... I was just trying to sort out my thoughts." Eilam pushes himself to a stand and walks back over towards Reiko before inviting himself to turn a little and sit against the edge of the bed beside her. "When you got hurt, I was angry, because I wanted to be able to keep you safe. You put yourself in danger, that day in the park, just to protect me. You didn't know... of my condition. You just wanted to keep me safe. That meant a lot to me, because those who keep me safe? I take care of their whole lives. I have those I pay, that I trust... because I have to. You got hurt, right in front of me. It is a terrible feeling, knowing that I've built my own little empire for so long but something so simple as keeping you safe was beyond my reach."
There was a small pause as he looked towards the door, then back to Reiko, "But... now I was wondering if there was something else to it. I mean, I know I find you adorable and all, but I also know I have intentionally kept myself from ever letting myself get attached to others because I know I will lose them some day. And I know I am not going to force others to follow me around the world as my life changes from place to place over time. But..."
Reaching up with a hand, Eilam reaches to poke towards the prism she had around her neck. "...I came here, to see you. I am a terrible, greedy person who rarely ever goes out of my way for anything. And ignoring my own comfort? It almost never happens. This is the second time I have voluntarily been in a medical facility in well over a hundred years. The first was when your birds told me you were here. So you seem to have a pattern of making me do strange things. Maybe I'm just enchanted with you, since you're the first magical person I've ever known. Silly, right? But I wouldn't mind you being the one on my so-called romantic magical coma will."
Reiko Touyama listens softly with a head tilt and a purse of her lips as she listens gently. She listens softly as she bites her lip. "I... try to protect. My friends. I mean. What's the point of being magical and stuff.. if you can't protect what's important to you and others... right?" she asks softly.
"That girl..." she says. "The one who. is Griselda? The Princess of the Grey Kingdom. Her name is Hiroko Koumoto. She used to be our friend. She used to the play the game, too-- she was Prism Keeper Silver." she says quietly. "But. Something changed one day." she says. "She started acting oddly and. Becoming hostile and calling our little game we played back then stupid. It broke us all up... and so she became. Our bully. For a very long time."
"So.. when. Mei and I... continued the story. Out of spite one of the first things we did was... a story arc where... 'Prism Keeper Silver' was corrupted- like.. any sort of anime where that happens, and she becomes the new 'Princess of the Grey Kingdom', Griselda." she says quietly.
"Hiroko-chan. I.. was starting. To understand a little. About her. Trying to see, if we couldn't be friends again. She helped me when. I was still kind of infatuated with Hotori-kun..." she says with a blush.
"It hurts to know she's... Griselda- and what I understand is.. she may not even know that's what she is. Like. I remember what happend. She saw my koi. It was the first time they ever appeared in front of her. And she... knew then. And she --- shifted." she says.
She just shakes her head and then sighs- but then blushes again. "You.. don't like.. medical places?" she asks. "I guess. I get that. With your condition. Doctors.. asking. Too many questions. I mean. I have it hard trying to come up with excuses for stuff like this and it happens often enough sometimes my primary doctor kind of wonders if I hop in front of cars on purpose..." she blushes.
"But..I appreciate you... visiting me anyways." she says quietly. "It means a lot to me." she says.
Then she head tilts. Wait. 'Enchanted' with her? Being on her romantic magical coma will? This causes her to blush as she ahems.
"Heh.. usually. It's the other way around. Usually. I'm enchanted with someone and then I sputter and blush and nothing happens!" she insists.
So it was possible that Reiko and her friends inadvertently did that to Hiroko? That it was their... story. Eilam closed his eyes as he sat there and listened, trying to process things. Though he did finally shake his head. "No, no I do not. I have been around for too long. Science now... medical science, it has shot up at an amazing rate in the last hundred, hundred and fifty years. Back in the old days when people thought you could let someones blood to heal them, or other such archaic mindsets. I have dealt with those things for far too long. Sometimes with others trying to force me to accept their 'treatments' to cure me."
When he opens his eyes again, he looks towards her, "But nice to know that's why you act that way with me. And here I just thought you were easily flustered, not that you had a crush on me, silly. Before I go, would you like that kiss that your birds here tried to drum up for you, or would you rather I leave you to your color being more red than orange?"
Reiko Touyama head tilts. "Yeah, I guess that, you wouldn't want anyone studying you or anything like that." she says softly. "I mean. Nowadays. But I can get 'faking it' way back when when like leeches were a thing." she says softly, tapping her chin just softly as she thinks on this.
Oh. Then. She just turns completely and utterly a deep shade of red across her face which she tries to make go away by calming down. This barely works. Now she feels more dizzy.
So a boy she kind of likes just asked to kiss her. Does she say yes? No?
She just woke up from a coma. There are probably worse things to wake up to.
"I think the birds have a point." she says matter of factly. A way of saying 'yes!'
Roy sort of blinks, and then turns around and whistles, he isn't staring at this because it's credible denability later!
The response was worth it all, how flustered she got. Quite honestly Eilam did not expect her to actually answer positively. He expected her to croak and maybe do something like try to cover her face with the pillow. "They do have a point, don't they?" Eilam asked before turning a bit further, only to lean down over her, arm pressing against the bed next to her head. This, as was his intention, put him resting over her just a bit, hair loose as it was, still with all the silly colors from having dyed it a month or so back.
"Thank you for showing me Magic was real."
Of course, he hardly waited for a response, rather simply leaning down and pressing his lips against hers. Though as tired as he was, he didn't bother making the moment brief, instead just resting there over Reiko, lingering against her, with her. It wasn't love, for him, not yet. But there was certainly something there that he hadn't realized. Perhaps it was as he said, enchantment. But it was enough for him to appreciate the beauty of it.
That, and he was rather good at this, as she would find out - though how much she had to judge him against he hardly knew.
Ohhh and there it is, a kiss! It lasts a little longer than she expected, but she's still bright and blushing and Eilam might feel that severe heat of blood rushing through her head.
She does, break the kiss, if Eilam doesn't but she assumes he does at some point. It'd be really awkward if he fell asleep, right there.
She does close her eyes and she opens them just softly with a bit lip.
"You smell really nice." she says. A pause, and then a ugh! "..I mean! Like..." she ughs! Look. She'd never been that close to a boy before! And he does smell really floral.
"Um.."
"Thanks. For visiting me. Eilam-kun." she says softly with that blush still. "And for the gift and..."
"...that." she says with a nervous smile. Yup. Still bashful still blushy.
"Um, don't let me keep you, okay? I'll be fine!" she insists. "Yup!"
"Hm?"
Raising up as he felt Reiko pull away a little, Eilam seemed curious before laughing softly. "I do. I just grabbed something from the freshly laundered clothes that were being put up and... I had not even realized how present the laundry soap is. Glad to hear you like it. But nothing to thank me for. I enjoyed it as well, even if that /was/ for you." Then he leaned down and took another, quicker kiss before pulling away, the arm that was beside her going with him this time, fingers brushing along her cheek. "That one was for me."
And without too much to do, he made his way to the door to leave. No point in overstaying on a good note. Would probably just make her want to see him again a little more than if he lingered and gave her a chance to process things.
