It's after school and Yuzuki has made her way to the food truck cafe! She knows that's not the real name, but the food is tasty enough. She had been in the area working on setting up for a show and food called! Wearing a pale pink hoodie, a pair of baggy rave pants and her nice comfy boots, she's standing in line impatiently, trying to get the whole lunch thing out of the way.
Chilly weather aside, it's busy enough and she's starting to fidget. She's hungry, skipped breakfast hungry, not doing work she wanted to be doing and her laptop case is heavy! There's a scowl as she looks at it, wondering why she brought it along. Patting the case, there's a shrug and she adjusts the strap and steps from foot to foot, another step forward.
This particular location isn't all that far from where a certain apartment has an overview, and there are a couple of occasional guests who deeply appreciate the takoyaki. Which may explain why, after Usagi started fretting about Kazuo not eating, Plans Were Made. Therefore there is a more or less unmistakable tall figure with a mane of white hair joining the line. Even if the girl he's meeting isn't here, there's the chance to save her some time when she arrives.
Fidgeting pulls more attention than the pale pink hoodie did by itself; he frowns silently at the girl with the laptop case, trying to place her without being able to see her face.
Nagina Hasane still did not quite trust the food truck's food, though that was not what she was here for! Oh no, she had been stal-... Quietly observing Yuzuki from a safe distance, likely with a hint of cover before her in the shape of a truck, some hedges or what have you. Still in her Seishou school uniform consisting of a white seifuku, sailor collar, her white bow acting as a ribbon to keep her hair in a low ponytail, her skirt running to a touch below her knees whilst her long black socks ran up to below the skirt.
The rather pale girl remained in that peeked out state, as if seeking an opportunity for.. Something.. An approach of sorts mayhaps. Though her gaze got a hint distracted by Kazuo's appearance, the tall figure, to her standards, seeming somewhat out of place. Still! She'd simply observe.. Bide her time.. Planning.. Scheming.. Plotting..
Hooray for another day of school finished. It's a sunny (if slightly cool) autumn day, and Kukai Souma, loose from school and freshly showered after today's practice, wants food. He's dressed in comfy sneakers, loose pants, tshirt, and jacket, ready for an evening of 'patrolling and probably chasing penny-ante youma'. Of course, there's food in KPP and around Seiyou Public, but this is the food truck where he'd recently won a free takoyaki meal plate coupon for and that means this is where he's going to eat.
He moves towards the line, Daichi riding on his shoulder, only to see a familiar tall white/silver head of hair a little ways forward in the line. He grins and moves over, tapping Kazuo on the arm. "Hey. Gonna get in line back here behind you a couple spots. Good to see you." Daichi bounces and waves at Kazuo as well. "Hiii!" Kukai looks back, then moves around to get in line before it gets any longer, and amuses himself by peoplewatching.
Yuzuki Amemori notices Nagina acting strangely, but that seems to be the norm lately, she figures she's watching for others though. This does mean she turns to face the others in line, trying to get a better look at not just Nagina, but who she's looking for. Well, there's two guys, maybe them? She leans to the other side, trying to get a better look. She's sure she recognizes one of them and one of them has a little fairy thing and that's- that's something. Had she seen something similar at the barbecue?
She rubs her chin, stepping backwards as the line moves without turning back. What, she's been working with Hakuomaru in her dreams! She's tired of that gruff voice yelling dodge after all. There's an easy way to find out if she recognizes them for sure or not though. She raises her hand to wave. Sure she might be waving to Nagina and that's her excuse and she's sticking with it. Also she may be watching the little fae folk more than the others at this point.
Kazuo glances back at the tap on the arm, sharp and a little too fast, then catches himself and inclines his head to Kukai. "Hello, Daichi," he says. Let the others in line think that's Kukai's name, why not. "Good to see you well." -- and the one he'd been watching is glancing back herself. Kazuo's eyebrows twitch upward, and he inclines his head to Yuzuki as well. She's not looking at him, and she's not looking where she'd been looking --
Naru may be about to have a field day when she gets here.
He glances in the direction that Yuzuki had been. That's another Seishou uniform, isn't it? Good. Good. Recognizable schools are ... appreciated, right now. He studies Nagina for a few moments, then glances away rather than risk spooking her too overtly.
Yet.
Nagina Hasane quickly seemed to look away at noticing Yuzu rotate to face her, not being too subtle about noticing she was spotted! Though for whatever unnatural writing reason she noticed the wave, visibly sighing in defeat and giving a quiet little wave back, though the added eyes in her direction helped the girl little in terms of trying to find a chance to close in. She simply shook her head a little, as if disappointed in this turn of events, though the faintest of pink on her pale cheeks suggested she knew full well how awkward what she was doing was.
The reduced spookage was as appreciated as Kazuo might have appreciated a familiar uniform, yet it was not sufficient enough to keep the girl around. She stepped back, moving behind the food truck and out of sight. A few moments after, unless people had been looking down at the grass for tiny snakes at all times, Yuzu might notice a little something slithering along her ankle for but a moment, yet if she would then look out, there would be nothing there other than a little paper slip tugged in between one of the shoelaces, making a little request to meet up at another time. With that, Nagina was gone again
Kukai grins at Kazuo for a moment, then hmms, looking back. Kazuo was looking somewhere, but.. he's not sure whom he's looking at. It's a little confusing. But he figures Kazuo's got some plot or thing he's doing. So it doesn't matter. The line moves up another slot, and he steps forward as well.
He does however notice the girl ahead of him waving at the same person, and grins a little. "See somebody you know?" He's not against prying into things a little from the other end.
Yuzuki Amemori watches the antics of Nagina with some curiosity. When she hides behind the truck, she slowly shrugs and looks to the other two behind her. The look on her face is one of, 'I have no idea.' Stepping back once more, she spins on her heel to order herself a pair of orders, a drink and a drink before she steps out of the way to wait on her order. Back to the other two, she swears she should know both of them. Then it clicks and she says to Kazuo, "Neat, you heard anything from the witch lately?" What, that's obscure enough right? Gives some of it away too!
Glancing to Kukai at his question, she taps her foot, only then noticing the piece of paper as it makes a rustling noise. She reaches down, scoops it into her hand and reads over it in confusion while simultaneously responding to the boy, "I've met her a couple of times now. She had some interesting trouble the first time." Looking up from said paper she asks, "Where have I seen you? You go to Infinity?" Then she glances to Daichi too.
Best laid plans, and all that. Never fails than when you are /actively running late/, that's of course when people stop you to chat about things, and lights are never in your favour and you can't find that /one thing/ that you were sure was /right there/.
Naru has a general air of cranky about her, low level enough to hardly be a harbringer of doom, but just enough that /lunch/ had better go well or ELSE!
Even if 'or ELSE' is that she'll be cranky this afternoon too.
Familiar faces prompt a wave from Naru as she approaches, and a smile that is faking it for now. "Hey guess. Sorry I'm late, Kazuo."
"A couple of people who were at the barbecue," Kazuo answers Kukai. "The quiet one decided she wasn't up for talking today, either." ... the guy who regularly prefers to be mistaken for part of the architecture just called someone else the quiet one. This does not necessarily bode well for socialization.
Naru's approach yields a different result. "Hardly. Just in time to actually make your own choices." He draws Naru in beside him to order -- pays for the both of them before she has a chance to protest. It's not actually slowing Kukai down. It just means that he's not ordering for three by default, given the way Naru's started picking up some of Usagi's tendencies lately.
That puts him close to Yuzuki, to whom he shakes his head. "Nothing since we both saw her. But I suspect we both get our information there through the same person. Unless you're already using sources of your own as well."
Kukai hmms, looking at Yuzuki. "I think.. maybe? I go to Seiyou - Kukai Souma." He offers Yuzuki a hand, grinning, and can't help but notice her eyes glacing up and over to Daichi. "I... you know, I know I've seen you recently but I don't know where." He hears another familiar voice coming up from close by. "Hey Naru."
Kazuo answers the question for him. "Oh, ok! Yeah, I was sort of out of it halfway through the party, but it's nice to meet you finally!" He looks over to where Nagina is retreating. "Aww. That's a shame. Would've liked to have met her."
Yuzuki Amemori holds her hands up and says, "I haven't gotten a call in a few about it. I do keep running into weird and interesting things though. Trees, trees again, cloning shadows." She taps her computer case and adds with a grin, "I had a neat idea though. I'm going to try and take pictures of all the things. Make a song based on them. Get something good from them right?"
She gives Naru a wave as she walks up, watching the interactions between Naru and Kazuo, a look of confusion once more. "I thought she was with the German that Haruna was hitting on?" This is more to herself than anyone else, but she did say it out loud. Which gets a hrk from the girl, "You didn't hear that. Hi. Hello."
Back to Kukai she nods, "I go to Infinity, kinda mentioned that. The party makes more sense though. Hi there. She's..." she leans over to where Nagina disappeared to while pocketing the note. "She was at the gallery too I think." This is said to both Kazuo and Naru more than anything.
"Perfect." Naru replies to Kazuo and orders for herself, even if he's paying. She's not quite at Usagi lunch level, but she's making a good dent into approaching it. "Thanks." She replies up to him and then starts paying attention to the other conversations ans she steps aside to wait for their order.
"The weird shadows? They make for great art, and creepy visuals." Naru comments absently and then she giggles softly and notes to Yazuki with a grin, gesturing up at Kazuo indicating the pair of them. "Not dating, just friends." She pauses a moment and than adds. "Haruna was hitting on Alex?" There's just a breath of a pause where other girls might be all possessive and jealous, but Naru instead asks. "Did he notice?"
Naru follows the look to where Nagina was and then asks. "Nagina? She seems so sweet, and /so/ shy."
Cloning shadows. Kazuo's attention shifts to Kukai when Yuzuki says that, and lingers there a moment -- he might ask, but Kukai has prior claim on the subject, so he hangs back. "As long as you don't get distracted enough by the picture-taking for something to come up behind you," he says to Yuzuki, with his typical degree of optimism and trust in the goodwill of fate. The commentary on Naru's dating life prompts him to give Yuzuki a disconcerted look, in the bargain.
The commentary about Nagina is more than enough to dissolve that expression back to his more usual lack thereof. "I'd wondered where some of that came from. Was paying too much attention to the girl with her own camera to follow up, but I didn't think most of the people there were that fond of snakes."
Kukai nods and then looks back over to Naru and Kazuo. "Funny how we're all here at the same place at the same time. but this is near your place Kazuo, so I guess it's to be expected." He moves up behind Yuzuki as Kazuo and Naro move out of the way. "It does smell like good food, though."
He rubs his chin, listening to Naru. "Is that her name, Nagina? I haven't met her yet." He chuckles at Kazuo. "Oh, it'll be ok. Just keep your eyes open Yuzuki and you'll be fine. And... snakes?" He blinks. "What's this about snakes?"
Yuzuki Amemori turns to grab her order and drink, taking a bite of said food, a big one. Shows always make her hungry. That out of the way, she takes a long drink, coughs, then says, "I'll be fine, there's the armor and the big sword and the fact that they've all been chatty or slow lately. I think the dagger lady's about the only one I'd be worried about, but I shot at her s-.. well. Yeah. It's a neat game right?" That last one has the tone of cover story to it. Just in case.
"I think he did notice, but it was before you were dating and I don't think she was actually hitting on him, but it is funny watching her squirm when I tease her about it." She rolls her shoulders a few times and takes another bite before pointing the empty skewer at Kukai, "Seems to happen a lot really. I mean there were..." she holds up a few fingers and counts off, "A lot of people at the dance on the beach I was side-showing on and we had an attack and weird things right? Her name is Nagina though, she likes snakes" beat, "She has one around her wrist usually. She insisted the name was a pun, but I don't get it. What's a kuraken?"
"Dagger lady?" Naru asks with a little puzzled note to her tone and then accepts the order that encompasses her and Kazuo as its handed out. She turns to find somewhere to settle and eat. "I've seen Nagina a few times now, but haven't really had opportunity to sit down and have a good chat yet. She's skittish."
Naru laughs softly and nods. "Totally tease worthy, if she was flirting with Alex. There was someone else who was all blushy flirty adorable with him and he didn't believe me when I assured him she was flirting with him."
Naru uhhs softly. "I've no clue what a kuraken is." Her attention goes to Kazuo, as if expecting him to know. He knows everything, right?
"European sea monster," Kazuo says to Naru. "Or American. It was in some movies your best friend made me watch." He considers that for a moment, and adds, "That one looked more like a cephalopod than a snake, though."
He gestures back toward the food truck, and adds to Kukai, "We have a couple of acquaintances in common who like the place. So it's not so surprising at all." Dagger lady? That one's one that he can't parse, either, and he glances to Yuzuki for it.
Kukai steps up to the counter and presents his coupon, picks out a drink, and waits on his food. Mmm, food. "Game? Oh, right, game." He gets the idea, for the most part at least. "You side-showed at a dance? Oh, wow, that's been... back at the start of summer, wasn't it? We've been in the same circles for a bit now. I completely missed it." He grins. "Forgive me. It's been an interesting month or two. And.. ah, ok. Nagina like snakes. Got it."
Kukai looks back to Kazuo as he talks. "Well it's good food." He hasn't even tasted it yet. "I mean it wouldn't still be in business, you know."
Yuzuki Amemori idly chews on her second skewer while listening. The questions about the dagger lady gets a shrug, "Iunno, she was trying to rob a glasses store for a laser. I broke the laser thing, she got huffy and teleported. I figured breaking it was better than letting her have it after all."
The subject of Nagina gets another shrug, "She's nice enough, but mousey. I have... no idea why she was sneaking around. Or how she snuck a note into my shoelaces." She runs her fingers through her hair and grins, "But yeah, he was on the beach and had gotten into a losing fight. We yelled at him for trying to clean a broken nose with beach water and raided a medical hut." Finally, to Kukai, she shrugs, "I don't know anyone beyond him" She points to Kazuo, "Her" Pointing to Naru, "Nagina and... two others. I don't know which names you'd know them by so- I'll leave it there. Otherwise? I just encounter people then they dart off and I never get to do anything, but wave or say "Hoo he was a biggun wasn't he?" she says this in a bad southern American accent.
"Hunh." Naru muses as she settles in to eat lunch. "I don't remember that robbery either, which isn't /so/ surprising. I try and keep track, but Tokyo's a big place."
Naru mmms softly. "I know a lot of people, at least by name or by sight. I really do try and get out and meet people." She gives a little shrug. "Less so of late, it feels like. I've been busy, and tired." She considers and then her expression is rueful. "Not the best excuse, really."
"Gosh. Alex? In a fight? I am /shocked/ by this revelation." Naru's tone is dry, and amused and fond. She passes Kazuo his share of lunch from their order, clearly expecting that he's actually eating and not just taking it home for someone else.
Kazuo gives Yuzuki a narrower glance for a moment, frowning slightly. It's not clear that he's not irritated at her until a moment later, when his eyes widen again. "Madison Perry," he says. "You were probably right."
He lets out a breath, then adds an amendment to Yuzuki's 'don't know which names you'd know them by.' "Gull mentioned that she could use some more connections. I suggested she talk to your group at Seiyou, but the two of you present at the time were somewhat preoccupied."
Kukai nods at Yuzuki, then sighs. "One more person to look out for. That's... well, par for the course. And..." He offers her a hand. "Kukai Souma, Jack of Guardians for Seiyou Public. It's very nice to meet you! We should talk more." He grins and holds up his food. "I'm starving - gotta eat for a minute." He hmms, then nods to Kazuo. "Sure, yeah, Yuzuki, you should come talk to the Guardians if I can get them lined up and kitten-herded. That'd be a great idea."
Yuzuki Amemori taps her chin and says, "The guardians? Do you have a guy and a really clingy girl on your team or is that another one? I think I'm mixing up groups." Beat, "Seishi never did give me a study guide for this. I should do that, pictures, descriptions, alignments, who I've shot at, you know?"
Kazuo's reaction didn't get her to flinch, she does seem on the hardy side of things though. Then he says a name, "I don't know the name. Did she have laser daggers and a big mouth? What's her deal?"
To Naru she nods, "I haven't seen you about much. I don't see a lot of people though, I think I study too much" she taps her chin and adds, "I'm working on that though. Have to get those contacts to make it in music right?" The dry tone gets a snrk, "That kind of reaction should be sa--hrk. So does he know about the coffee monster yet?"
"I keep notes." Naru answers honestly on the notion of a study guide. "A lot of notes. It's the only way I keep track, especially when I was first trying to meet people." She doesn't even sound shy or embarassed by that reality.
The name 'Madison Perry' brings a nod from Naru as she eats for a few moments first. "I have only encountered the name so far. Not currently more than a mostly blank page in my notes."
Naru quirks her head at Yuzuki. "And in an alternate perspective, it feels like you pop up all over the place for me. All in expectations, I suppose." She smiles and nods. "Yes, he knows about the coffee monster, and a few more besides these days."
"The trick is keeping notes that won't do harm if the wrong person gets hold of them. But we each solve that problem in our own way." For all he knows, Yuzuki might be able to keep a dream journal. As in, a journal literally located in her dreams.
Kazuo doesn't speak to the 'guy and really clingy girl' aspect. The only team he can think of offhand -- if one combines the Senshi and Shitennou to get around the problem -- that doesn't fit that bill is the Prism Keepers. And that's because they don't have guys.
He does, however, incline his head to Yuzuki's summary description of Madison Perry. "With red gems in the hilt," he agrees. Eyes flicker absently over the people around them, making sure there's no-one whose body language screams 'cop,' before he says, "Escaped prisoner. Deadly when she can get away with it. I wasn't in the information networks the last time she was active myself, so I'm still catching up where she's concerned. But she's up to something, and she's a clever planner. Slowing her down is always worthwhile."
Yuzuki Amemori tilts her head side to side, running the information around in her head. Maybe even rattling it around. "Yeah that sounds about right, about the daggers that is. She was uh... chatty too? I don't know, the guy there got stabbed and then left swearing he was okay. I had to bandage my arm and I broke something expensive. Overall probably a neutral day." She takes the first skewer, now that the second is empty as well and tries to flick it into the garbage can, followed by the second one.
"I don't show up that often though do I? I see... well I've seen Haruna, Seishi and him here more often I think? That seems like cheating though since that was in another place." beat, "And another time." Another beat, "What movie is that from?"
"Hunh." Naru murmurs softly as she listens to the quiet details on Madison Perry as presented, nodding slowly as she doesn't make notes at the moment, but one can fully expect that they will become notes. "Interesting. Good to know about deadly." Not disconcerting, or worrisome, apparently, just a good tidbit to have. "Anyone know what her current objective is? Take over the world, mahahaha?" The 'evil' laugh is provided in suitable monotone.
Naru shakes her head on movies. "I've no clue. I apparently live under a rock." she notes and then gestures. "Perhaps it was simply that more and more of dealing with orange kept popping up." Naru commnents thoughtfully on the notion of who all Yuzuki knows.
What movie? Kazuo shakes his head to Yuzuki, indicating that he has no more idea than Naru does. Given his lack of interest in music, either, that might not be a surprise there. "Perry seems to be targeting something Homura Akemi is keeping, but I don't know if that's her primary goal or a step on the path." He pauses. Glances to Yuzuki. "Do you know of Akemi?"
Yuzuki Amemori yawns and says, "Robbing mall glasses stores of their lasers, yell at me for breaking things, that kind of thing." She offers something of a weak shrug and leans to check out the line. Maybe she should get a refill. "The orange thing was part of it. I'm still annoyed that they ruined my armor not even a week after getting it."
What, it's hers, she has to take care of it! Looking to Kazuo, she gives him a bland look and asks, "So what are your hobbies anyway? You always look so dour" She uses her fingers to create an overly exaggerated smile and asks, "Can you do this? I don't think I've ever seen it!"
"It came back." Naru is very sanguine about the temporary lack of orange. It has returned, all is well that ends well, on that front at least. "At this point, if there's still colour issues with your armour, it's something different."
"Mmm." Naru nods to Kazuo at his mention of an item that she's interested. "Seems likely to be a step on the path, but that's pure speculation. I don't know Homura well enough, really, to poke much. I should fix that."
"Apparently, my hobby is offering questions about whether people need additional information, but to people who prefer to ignore the question in favor of mockery. I should learn better about volunteering favors." Kazuo should also probably eat some of his food, which is what he's been ignoring. Maybe he's quietly hoping Naru will solve that problem for him. He shrugs briefly, after, and adds, "I run. I study history, and occasionally, very badly, physics. I herd cats and try to keep a household from collapsing under the collective weight of its own adolescence."
Yuzuki Amemori says flatly, "I was there, I know it's back. My armor's a dead give away too!" She leans forward and says, "It was still a few weeks with grey armor, which admittedly it was probably more practical, but have you /met/ my past self? I'm amazed I get armor." Beat, "No of course you haven't met him."
She sticks her tongue out at Kazuo and says, "So serious so serious! Good gried. I don't know Akemi, I haven't even heard rumors of her running around again and! I do listen for those rumors now. It's hard though, I keep hearing group names and none of them make any sense and I'm pretty sure at least two of them are actually pokemon teams."
By the way Naru isn't stealing Kazuo's lunch, it almost might seem that she expects him to derive nourishment from more than just sarcasm and analytics.
"I pretty much always wish for additional information." Naru points out with a flash of a smile for Kazuo. "My ignorance is infinite."
"If you spot Madoka, you'll probably spot Homura, they basically come as a set." Naru adds with a little nod. "Notes. Best way to keep track. Secure notes."
Naru, too, is clearly an inveterate optimist.
One more flick of a glance. At this point, no-one's paying attention to the three of them, since obviously they're spending most of their time talking about a video game. "Akemi's a veteran Puella," Kazuo says. "Most of the Puella use archaic weaponry." Given his own fondness for swords, that's not stated as an insult. "Akemi approaches things more practically; she keeps an arsenal. She organized an alliance of three dozen or so of us, including groups that were at each other's throats, to fight a particular threat to the city last January. She does come as a set, yes. The two of them run the Contractors, these days. Freelance monster fighters." A brief pause. "Not a Pokemon team. Virtue is also not a Pokemon team; that's a name you'll hear frequently from the Guardians, most likely. If you haven't had that explained to you already."
Yuzuki Amemori begins laughing and says, "I don't know either of them Osaka-san, but I'll keep an eye out for them. Two girls right? Because the two that I ran into were boy and girl so- I doubt it was them." She shifts her weight from one foot to the other while pointing to the food Naru's got and says to Kazuo, "Psst, I lack the subtlety she does. I'm the party bard. She wants you to eat too."
Then she nods to his descriptions of the various things. "Hey I like my sword-" beat, "Hey uh, do they offer other swords too? Because I'm finding a problem that Hakuomaru didn't account for back then. My sword's kind of awkward to use. I keep using those pretty flintlocks as clubs annnd... I feel bad." Even if that was a valid use of them.
"Virtue, that was it. I don't remember them saying more than, you know, check into it. Contractors sound fun though, since I keep running into creepy crawlies."
"And now if you hear /either/ of their names, you'll know to connect them." Naru points out, in spite of Yuzuki's protest of not knowing the names of the Contractors.
All sort of optimist, that's Naru. All optimist, all the way.
The bing of Naru's phone prompts her to dig it out of the side pocket of her satchel and consider the message upon it.
"If you want the detailed pitch about Virtue, look up Tadase at the Seiyou Gardens. Yes, even if you don't know him, you won't know him unless you look him up." Naru points out with a touch of a smile. "But I have to go. I'll be by.. later. Tonight? Maybe? To paint, but that's like noting to you that the sun is going to rise. Take care Yuzuki."
"Tadase is one of the Guardians, and the Guardians are one of the core groups in Virtue. Which is a loose information-sharing and assistance network; to some extent, it does on a volunteer basis some of the things the Contractors do for pay. That's why I asked Kukai about arranging something." Kazuo looks away from Yuzuki to bow slightly to Naru. "We'll look forward to seeing you, whenever you happen to stop by. Good luck."
The fact that he now presumes he'll be seeing her only when she stops by is perhaps notable. To her, anyhow.
He returns his attention to Yuzuki. "Which they are you asking about offering other swords? Physical ones are obtainable, certainly, but you may or may not be able to change the ones you're bound to. Or to find more effective ways of using them. The one that I can call isn't the style that I prefer, either, but there's a degree to which it's worth adjusting."
Yuzuki Amemori holds her finger up and says, "Hey that was the place the guy with the gir- I was told to go there anyway." She waves to Naru and adds, "Seeya, good luck with the painting thing. Don't spill the orange please." What, she has a sense of humor about it now. It worked out right?
She rubs her chin and quietly thinks for a few moments before snapping her finger, "I think that was it. I'll... have to try and make sure though. I'll look into it either way. Do they have a business card or bat signal?" Beat, "Also, I like the sword, but you start realizing why giant swords weren't common in close in stuff right!?" She snrks, "Still, I'll check into it with Seishi."
There's a brief tug at the corner of Kazuo's mouth, over the problem of the Giant Sword. It can move. And he reaches finally for his own food, proving (a) he eats, (b) he was in fact listening to Yuzuki, and (c) he is unlikely to have allergies to octopus. "Which 'they' are you asking about having a business card? I lose track of which people you're referring to on a regular basis."
Yuzuki Amemori huffs and says, "How do you think I feel! I keep hearing proper noun, go talk to proper noun and watch out for proper noun and proper noun's proper noun!" She does decide to get a refill, "Why the frown? It's true, I like it, but when you can only do an overhead swing or stab, it gets a lot less... useful. Though I guess they are not-so-normal flintlocks so they're probably safe to use without damage."
The line's probably died down by now, so the drink thing isn't too rough. "Any business cards for any of the groups you mentioned." she says simply when she gets back.
"At least the proper nouns give you a chance of eventually learning the terms." That was not, granted, a frown. Though since a frown is more or less Kazuo's default expression, he doesn't argue. "Mn. I'm in agreement with you personally, but -- didn't the Europeans have something worked out along those lines?" He eyes the next ball of cephalopod thoughtfully. "Maybe we can do something about giving you alternatives with what you have already."
A pause. "I don't think I've run into many with business cards. Though." He shifts his drink into the crook of an arm, and reaches for his wallet; a moment later and he is literally handing Yuzuki one. For the Contractors. It looks perfectly mundane. If Virtue comes with business cards, he hasn't run into them yet.
Yuzuki Amemori takes the card in question and peers at it curiously, then asks, "Do you have a spare or do you have it memorized?" not wanting to take the card if it's his only one. "I'll check into it either way, just means I'll have a reminder the next time I have to reach for my cards."
There's a curious look at that, "Alternatives to what I already have huh? I should talk to... well I keep saying it don't I. I'll talk to myself and Seishi about it."
"I have a cellphone," Kazuo answeres Yuzuki. "And teammates who also have cellphones, so we have a backup. And alternatives with what you already have, also; just because we have alternatives to skill doesn't mean we can't do better by developing those skills further. Or by learning to work in combination with the people around you. We've been running into each other enough that might be worthwhile. Perhaps I should talk to Seishi about that."
The note of humor is barely perceptible, but it is there.
