It's night-time. The park is pretty sparsely populated. Prism Keeper Orange flies in to the playground area as she looks around. Empty.. good. She puts away her chroma wand, dissapearing from view as she she grits her teeth. "Okay... I can do this." she says. to herself. She flies along the edge of the enclosed park area, and then inwards. She dips under the slide. Good!
She she turns around and flies towards the swing set, trying to fly between the two swings. She can do this! She can do this!-----
Prism Keeper Orange snags one of the swing's chains and she gets caught, being spun around as the chain causes her to get her all tangled in it. Ack! She was doing so good, too!
She huffs and begins to work to untangle herself from this mess. This may take a moment.
A lupine figure darts among the trees of the park, mostly sticking to the shadows while moving before hopping back up into the trees. The figure sticks her head above the upper leaves, revealing Cute Wolf Tsukiko, looking up towards the crescent moon. A lovely night for a patrol!
Her ears flit towards the sounds of jangling chains. Dropping down to the ground, the wolfgirl prowls towards the playground. What sort of mysterious being is playing with the swings--?
Oh.
"Hi, Orange!" Tsukiko calls, waving to her magical friend as she approaches. "Um, are you okay?" she asks, looking at the tangle of chains.
A little black fox pads through the park, hunting for its dinner. The little creature sneakily creeps up on a squirrel ... only to have its meal interrupted by a magical girl attempting a very strange maneuver. The little fox pauses in its hunt and peers up at the scene in the park, curiously.
Prism Keeper Orange manages to free herself from the chains, causing her to flutter upwards a little...
and bang her head against the top bar of the swing set. "Ow!" she says. She grabs her head. She flutters down the ground---- a koi comes up from behind her, swimming in the air---fish kisses where she bumped her head. And pops into a magical orange sparkle. She blushes. "Ah--- I'm fine. I was just... trying to teach myself to fly better. I got under the slide but the chain on the swings got me." she says with a blush.
"What are you doing out here?" she asks. She doesn't notice the black fox nearby.
But her koi do. One pops into existance in front of Ayana's face- sticks out it's tounge at her- then rockets off back toward's Orange's location. Orange has abousltely no control over what just happened right now. She has no idea it even did!
Cute Wolf Tsukiko nods. "Just going on a wandering patrol," she admits. "It's a lovely moon tonight, and the cooler temperature feels good."
The wolfgirl looks to the slide, then at the swings. "Hey, want me to spot you while you try again? I might be able to offer feedback on how close you were," she offers.
A flicker of orange catches her attention, and she turns in time to spot the koi dashing through the air to Orange. "Looks like your little friend was looking at something," Tsukiko murmurs, glancing towards where the magical fish came from.
The little fox looks up hungrily at the sight of the flying fish. It hesitates, and crouches low in the bush, studying for several long moments. When the fox realises the fish is attached to the magical girl, its tails lash in disappointment, and the creature lets out a soft sigh. Then, after a moment, the fox transforms, its fur whirling with magical energy as the creature grows and becomes infinitely /more/. Its legs and arms lengthen, and its snout shrinks down. Fur becomes clothing, and the clothing becomes a barrier jacket. Soon, the little black fox has transformed entirely into a Magical Girl--or at least something that looks like one. Ayana steps out of the bush brandishing her golden, fox-eared heart-wand with a smile. "Wolfie!" she calls when she spots Tsukiko.
Prism Keeper Orange smiles. "That would work!" she says at Ikiko. She blinks as Ikiko talks about one of the fish. "What!? Ohhh no. That was so far away! It's even worse when I transform!" she huffs. "I'm glad they just stick around me otherwise." she says otherwise. Then Black Fox approaches. She blinks. Her eyes go wide in delight! Those fuzzy ears... a heart shaped fox ear wand. Her eyes begin sparkling.
"Waaaaaaaiii!" she exclaims, a happy sound. "Tsukiko, is this one of your friends?" she asks. "Are... Are you canine pals!?" she asks with those wide eyes in admiration.
Cute Wolf Tsukiko blinks at the unexpected arrival, then smiles as Black Fox approaches. "Hi, Black Fox!" the wolfgirl beams, waving at the foxgirl.
Her smile widens at Orange's reaction. "/Magical/ canine pals, at that!" she nods. "Black Fox, this is Prism Keeper Orange, a magical friend of mine; Orange, this is Black Fox, a fairly-new magical girl who helped me defeat that catboy jerk the other day." Given the lack of catboys they know, Orange probably knows /exactly/ who Tsukiko is talking about.
"Didn't expect to see you out here tonight," Tsukiko says to Black Fox. "Glad to see you, though -- how have you been since the other day?"
Ayana's ears perk up in nervous uncertainty at the noises coming from Prism Keeper Orange. "Uhm," she says, then wiggles her fingers at the younger girl, "Hi!" she says happily. "But I'm not really a canine. Foxes are vulpine. And I'm not /really/ a fox anyways; just a magical girl with foxy ears. It's nice to meet you, though.
"I'm doing great!" she continues, smiling at Tsukiko. "I actually was just ... out making sure there aren't anymore youma out tonight. I fought one earlier this evening at the uh ... place," she frowns in thought. "I don't remember where it was. But anyways it was trying to suck all the life out of people. Really mean. I wanted to make sure there wasn't going to be any more trouble tonight, so ... just going for a walk. What're you two up to?"
Prism Keeper Orange blushes so fiercely! Of course she knew that. Huff! In her excitment, she made a mistake. "W..Well you're a friend of Tsukiko! So... you're a friend of mine!" she says with a smile. "Uhm. Sorry if my koi bothered you. They kind of have a mind of thier own." she says sheepishly. She blinks.
"OH! /THAT CATBOY!/" she says angrily. "Was.. Was he harrasing the koi again! I told him to stay away! When I see him again...I'm... I'm going to pick him up the scruff and rub his nose in it and go /bad kitty!/" she says with a huff as she crosses her arms angrily. SO ANGRY.
This somehow just makes her look all adorable and scrunched up.
Cute Wolf Tsukiko ducks her head apologetically at Black Fox's correction. "Well... distant cousins, at least," she murmurs sheepishly.
Her face takes on a rather worried expression as she turns to Orange. "Worse," the wolfgirl sighs. "He managed to steal someone's /dreams/! He was playing the violin, then this egg-like thing emerged from someone, and he used that egg to turn into a weird vicious doctor!"
She shudders a bit at the memory. "At least Black Fox showed up and help catch him by surprise," she nods. "I'm not sure I could have done it without her help!"
"I didn't do /that/ much," replies Black Fox with a faint shrug. She even has the decency to blush and look embarassed. "Honestly, Wolfie's the one that figured out how to save th ekid, and defeat the doctor cat boy violinist... thing." She smiles at Orange, then says, "Don't worry, I don't think he'll be hurting anyone for a while at least. So why are you so adorable? You're like a tiny little candy wrapped in bows with wings and a wand."
Prism Keeper Orange blink blink blink. "Steal...someone's dreams!?" this a concept she can't really wrap her head around. "..and it was an egg?" she seems so confused! But it sounds familar somehow. She puts her hand up and materalizes a red notebook. She begins flipping pages. No.. nothing in the red notebook about eggs. She makes it poof back out of existence.
She looks at Black Fox, and blushes. She's.. She's adorable?
**BLUSSSSSSSH***
"Ah...I'm. A Prism Keeper. We all. Kind of look like this." she says softly and embarassed a little. "I'm still learning how to use the wings properly." she admits.
Cute Wolf Tsukiko does her best to hide her smile at Orange's blush. Black Fox might be speaking the truth, but mentioning that won't help reduce Orange's embarassment; rather, it might make it worse!
"The fight with the Shade actually gave me some inspiration," the wolfgirl admits. "The dream managed to make itself heard, and encouraging it seemed to stun the catboy. I remembered how humming my feelings to the Shade helped convince it to fade out, so I put all of my focus into my emotions, and... /howled/ to the trapped dream."
"There are /more/ of you?" Ayana asks, eyes widening and ears perking up. She kneels down to inspect the shorter girl curiously, then grins with wicked little fangs and says, "I'd love to meet the rest someday." Then she straightens and peers at Tsukiko. "Shade?" she asks curiously.
Prism Keeper Orange blushes. "Well. Um. Two. Actually. I'm Orange. My friend is Red. We. Haven't found others yet." she admits sheepishly, she manages to not passout from the amount of blood in her face. She's slowly unembarssing though.
"So.. Why are you. A Foxgirl?" she asks sheepishly. "Are you like. a Werefox?" she asks curiously. "Or is it just. A favorite animal?" she wonders politely.
She looks over to Ikiko. "I wonder. If... your singing. Is the same as my color energy..." she says softly.
Cute Wolf Tsukiko says, "Shades are a kind of monster that drains color from the world," Tsukiko explains to Black Fox. "The Prism Keepers fight them and return the drained color back to where it belongs."
The wolfgirl blinks at Orange's thought. "Maybe?" she shrugs. "I'll give it a try the next time we fight a Shade." She ponders how the howl felt, and what she can remember of her very first fight against the nightmare-dealing youma. "Not sure I can pull it off at will, but when the emotions are heartfelt enough, I'll be sure to howl them out loud!""
"Strawberry or cherry?" the fox-girl asks Orange amusedly. She frowns a little, then notes, "My world is mostly shades of grey anyways." She shakes her head, clearing the thought, then answers the question, "I'm a foxgirl because I'm a magical girl. Apparently I become the animal I was always meant to be. It's ... a little weird, but I guess I'm just naturally Kitsune."
Prism Keeper Orange ahs..! "I guess. That's a little like it was for me. Kind of." she admits. She blinks. "Red? Um. Roses. Actually." she says softly. She thinks a bit and sighs, closing her eyes. She flies upwards into the air and hovers a bit. "I think that...I should be going now." she says with a sigh. "Grandpa has been checking up on me often and I wanna be in bed before he goes to sleep and realizes I'm not in bed." she huffs.
"It was nice meeting you!" she says with a smile at Black Fox. "I'll catch you later, okay Tsukiko?"
"Take care, Orange!" Tsukiko waves. "See you later, and sleep well!"
The wolfgirl glances over at Black Fox. Color blindness? Well, if her magic makes her more attuned to the nature of foxes, color blindness /would/ be a logical, albeit unfortunate, side effect.
But it's really not all that important right now. "I'm going to go back to patrolling, Black Fox. Would you like to come with me, or were you planning on keeping an eye out for any more energy-draining youma around here?"
"Nice to meet you, Orange-chan," says the fox as the magical candy flies away. She watches her go, then shrugs and looks back to the wolfgirl amusedly. "Sure, I could go with you," she agrees. "I'll sense them coming, I think, so just about anyhwhere is a good place for me to watch."
Cute Wolf Tsukiko smiles. "Great! It'll be nice to have some company while patrolling the city," she beams. "It's enjoyable enough solo, but having a friend along will undoubtedly make it better!"
And so the wolfgirl and the foxgirl go off into the night, looking across the city for any youma or the like that might be causing trouble.
