Amu Hinamori was out and about!
That's right, everyone's favorite milk drinking cheerleader was once again healthy and thriving, walking across the world and able to stand in the sun! Well, or in this case, the moonlight. Sure, it was light, but there was no way she was going home. She was feeling good and healthy and wanted to be out and about.
She was eating a nice pasty snack, managing to get some of the cream on her nose and just, frankly, enjoying being healthy again and able to be out without giving her parents ulcers. She wondered if she should go see LAcrima. Nahhhhh. she needed one day of just having fun.
Izumi is strolling along, looking quite casual with his blond hair piled on top of his hair. The thing that gives away the purpose of his evening stroll is around one wrist: a Pokemon Go Plus, light currently inert. He spots Amu and there's a faint, crooked smile on his face as he passed by her.
He knew of Amu by reputation at least, and the fact that he is overall a sneaky intelligence-type... well that smirk might be that he has a good inkling of who she is (he can see Ran, Miki, and Su, if they're out and about too, after all) or it might also be that he is a generally smug person overall. The world may never know.
What the world is frequently reminded of is that Izumi is the kind of androgynous beauty that makes jeans and a t-shirt look unfairly charming and flattering.
Amu Hinamori took another bite of her snack, then her eyes drifted up and she froze. Cute boy. Ten o'clock. Stare and--
Ack, no! She quickly averted her gaze, her eyes lowering and cheeks red. She JUST got back with her boyfrined, now was not the time to be crushing!
The girls were out, of course. All with their own miniature versions of the snacks.
She had no idea who the guy was, after all. He was older, too, an adult? Probably.
Not exactly an adult, but uncomfortably close to graduating. "Nice night, hmm?" If asked, he's not intentionally flirting. After all, he is also taken. It's just that, well... Izumi doesn't intentionally come off with a flirt, it's just a case of being good-looking and personable. He beams at Ran, Miki, and Su for a moment.
"By any chance, do you know a Nagihiko Fujisaki?" he asks.
Amu Hinamori blinked a few times, staring at him, still in mid bite. Then she eeped and quickly choked for a moment, tears in her eyes as she tried to cough and clear her throat. "H-huh?" she rasped. "O-oh, nice night, yes, I--"
Then that. She blinked. "Oh! Yes, Nagihiko-kun is..." wait, how to term it? She blinked, then smiled. "He's my very best friend. Are you a friend of his as well? I am Amu Hinamori, one o the guardians as well, a pleasure to meet you."
The three charas were eying him oddly suspiciously...
Izumi flashedthe four a grin. "Well, Nagihiko-kun and I have some things in common, and I'd say we're 'friendly acquaintences'." He offered a bottle of water over, clearly still closed.
"I'm just asking because of these three," he said, gesturing at the charas expansively, confirming himself as a magical-type. "Nice to meet you too- I'm Izumi Inoba, and you four are?"
Amu Hinamori blushed and took the water. Unopened? No indirect kiss? A shame. She did drink a little. "Well, I'm Amu. This is Ran, Miki and Su. They're my local trouble makers."
"HEY!" Ran and Miki said. "Well, she's not completely wrong..." Su said with a cheerful smile.
"If you can see them, does that mean your hearts egg has hatched? Or... something else?" She looked him up and down and her cheeks went bright red again.
Izumi grinned, glancing around momentarily before sitting on the air. "...Not quite. You could say I rock, though, considering that I'm also known as Zoisite." There's a glimmer of something subtly different about his eyes and hair, a difference in coloration hard to spot at night.
The Shitennou uniform didn't help matters at all, though he didn't maintain the position of sitting in the air- or anything else obvious- for too long.
Amu Hinamori blinked, then sighed and took a bite of her snack, eying him suspiciously. "You're not another bad guy hoping to flirt with me and make me fall in love with him, are you? Because I've got a lot of those already and I realllllly don't need any more." And bad girls, too, but she doesn't mention that.
Izumi's laughter was alarmingly loud, and he had to rely on some of his abilities to not fall over. There was something slightly unhinged there, but he shook his head while wiping away tears of laughter from the corners of his eyes, trying to settle himself enough to talk.
"N-no. I'm one of a group of guardians for a prince around here," he offered, shaking his head.
Amu Hinamori blinked a few more times, nodding. "Ohhhh. A prince? which one? I've met like..." Her voice trailed off. "Waiiiiiit. Magical prince, right? Because I swear if you're working for that indian prince, I told him to leave me alone," she said huffily.
"I don't think he had any magical servants though, Amu," Rain said. "He couldn't see us," Miki said. "Besides, he was sweet, in his own way," Su added. "First boy Amu didn't fall instantly in love with," Ran helped. "Pretty unique," Miki said with a nod. "He just wasn't tadase enough," Su mourned.
Amu sighed. "See? See what I have to put up with?"
Izumi nodded. "Yeah- in fact, the King of Seiyou knows my prince." He grinned at the charas a bit- he always liked the blunt honesty many charas brought to the table. "You must be pretty special to have three of them, though."
The fact that Amu instantly falls in love with boys was filed away in some back corner of his brain-- to use against her, or to protect her against it, it's not really sure- and probably is heavily situationally-dependent.
"So, what are you doing walking around at night?" His question was pointed as he tapped the button on his wrist.
Amu Hinamori blinked and then blushed, looking off to the side. "I... I'm really not anything special compared to what a lot of the other girls are... and... can do," she muttered softly, crossing her arms. "It's really just a sign I'm indecisive." If he knew what it was, he could probably see the humpty lock around her neck.
"I've been locked up for a while, sick and all. Finally got a clean bill of health so I wanted to go out and have some fun. "What about you? Looking for your prince?" Then paused, and blinked, and... "It's Mamoru, isn't it?"
Izumi shrugged. "Indecisive, or aware of how many possibilities you have in front of you?" he asked philosophically. He wasn't sure of the Humpty Lock, but it definitely looked like something Magical with a capital m.
"Nah, just playing a game. It's kind of a crazy time to be a high school senior, and I refuse to let it drive me insane." Thus, he was playing Pokemon Go and catching some night air. If he happened to run across some sort of monster that was all the better-- some of the predatory instincts from the Dark Kingdom never left so much as got redirected to more positive outlets.
At the question, Izumi laughed and nodded. "I wasn't going to say it, but since you figured it out on your own..."
Amu Hinamori nodded and gave a little sigh, blushing. "Offff course. You kind of looked like someone who would be part of Usagi-chan's... ummmm... group? I think?" she said with a weak smile. "She tends to have some pretty amazing people, I mean."
She glanced to his phone. "Oh? Game? What one?" She didn't recognize it. As she was like, one of a dozen people who hadn't played it before. "And how many possibilities I have..." Her eyes glanced to the side. "Yeah... but more and more of them often close..."
Izumi shrugged. "Less Usagi-chan's group, more Mamoru's." Still, he couldn't argue with that- especially not since he more than occasionally got the benefit of Makoto's cooking.
"It's a phone game called Pokemon Go. It's a pretty thinly-disguised exercise app posing as a game, but it's still relatively entertaining." What he said was no more than the truth as it currently was, at least. The idea of an energy-sapping exercise app disguised as a game was patently ridiculous, after all- and also no longer the case. "The thing on my wrist just lets me play it without having to stare at a screen."
Amu Hinamori nodded. "Yeah, but the two are pretty much one from what I've seen. Not that I can blame them. Mamoru is like... in the time five of prettiest boys I've seen and Usagi-chan is definitely the second prettiest girl I've ever seen."
She nodded. "Ohhhhh. Pokemon go. I've never really tried it. Never really care much for those kinds of things, phone games and the like."
Izumi nodded. "I can't argue with Mamoru being one of the more attractive guys I've seen," he agreed. A more open person would have blushed a little, but Izumi didn't. He stretched his arms a bit.
"Eh, I'd be walking anyway-- but cute virtual creatures adds fun to it, seeing my haul when I get home."
Amu Hinamori nodded. "Really? Find anything particularly cute on this walk?" she glanced towards his phone, completely unaware she just threw one right over the plate for him. "And so you're like his bodyguard, then? Is this like... he has a magical kingdom thing? I was never quite clear on the rules for him."
Izumi graciously ignored that wide-open chance to comment, instead digging for his phone and tapping through to bring up his phone. "I'm partial to this one," he offered, showing off an Eevee. "In the main-series Pokemon game, depending on what happens around them or is done to them, they can evolve into one of eight different pokemon."
Amu Hinamori nodded, moving in a little closer to catch a peep. "Oh? So it turns into eight different types, depending on what you do with it, then? That's pretty cool. How do you make it turn into the one you want, though?"
Izumi grinned. "In Pokemon Go, it's pretty random- but in the main games, three of them take special stones, two of them take training it near one of two special rocks you can find in particular areas, two of them are by making it happy and then leveling it up during day or night, and the last one is making it really happy and leveling up while knowing a type of move." Of course he knew about Pokemon. They were entertaining to poke at (pun intended) while his brain was falling out of his ears.
Amu Hinamori nodded, gasping. "Wow, really? That seems really complex. Are most games like that?" She then giggled a little. "I like the last one, though. Making it really happy so it turns into something new? That sounds kind of romantic." She then blinked, turned red. "N-not... not that I c-care about that kind of thing o-or anything...."
Izumi snickered. "Well, Pokemon's been out for longer than you've been alive, so it's had time to get really complicated in the main games, since each set of games adds to the last one." He grinned down at Amu a little. "Of course you don't, that's why you said something and then immediately started stammering to cover it up."
Amu Hinamori nodded, listening. Then urked. "T-that wasn't a, I wasn't, I never meant to, I didn't, I-I--"
"Ohhhh, he's got your number," Miki said with a snicker.
Her cheeks turned red. "I-I was merely.... trying to be friendly. That's all..."
Izumi laughed. "You're not doing a very good job of covering it, and the more you stammer and try to explain it, the more ''awfull' you are at hiding it." Nope. Not letting her get away with denying it.
Amu Hinamori just stared up at him, her cheeks burning red, before looking away and staring down. Oh gosh she was so embarrassed. Ughhh, why didn't it work on him? Her cool and spicy jalepino ranch attitude usually worked!
"W-whatever you want to believe," she grouched, crossing her arms and harumphing. "So, ummmm, do you turn into a... well...." She couldn't help but wonder if he had a sailor uniform. Her cheeks turned redder at that thouught.
Izumi shook his head. "You already saw me transform." It was just not all that flashy, for all that the Shitennou uniform was darned fashionable.
"It's fine to like things, you know. It's not like someone is going to take them away from you just because you admitted you were interested in something." There was a brief flicker of something dark in his eyes, a blink-and-miss-it expression.
Amu Hinamori completely missed it and then chuckled. "Y-yeah. errr... right, heh heh... eh..." She shook her head, looking to him. "Wait, that was it? But how do you fight giant monsters like that? Won't people know it's you?"
"You turn into a cheer leader," Miki said flatly.
"That is not pertinent to the situation!"
Izumi chuckled a little, back at her. "People see what they want to see," he said airily, gesturing offhand.
"It kind of is, since it's probably about the same level of 'I look exactly the same'."
Amu Hinamori blushed and put a hand to her face and shook her head. "Yeah, but yours is probably a whole lot less embarrassing," she groaned. "Ugh..."
"Remember that time the whole school saw you and--"
"Not! Now! Miki!" Her cheeks were burning,.
Izumi snorted. "Well, it's not a skirt, so I'd imagine so." He shrugged, glancing at Miki with an amused quirk to his lips.
Amu Hinamori covered her face with both hands. "Don't you encourage her. She's evil. Pure, pure evil." "I just know you best." "No you don't! Tadase-kun doioes!"
Izumi laughed. "Nah, I've seen pure evil, and every chara I've seen falls more on the side of mischief than pure evil."
Amu Hinamori sighed and eyed miki. "Are you sure? I thin kshe might be the exception..."
"Very sure," Izumi said with conviction in his voice. He reached out to carefully ruffle at Miki.
Amu Hinamori glowered at miki, who just gave an innocent grin. As if she wasn't evil incarnate. Amu then sighed and looked down at the game. "So, eevee, huh? Anything else fun you've seen?"
"Not offhand on this trip, but that's the nice thing about this game- you don't know what you're going to get for walking around." Izumi shrugged a little and tucked his phone away. "I should probably get going, though. I was just taking a break from homework and studying..."
Amu Hinamori nodded, giving a polite little bow. "Ah. Well, it was a pleasure meeting you, Izumi-kun. Here's hoping we can meet again sometime." She said with a sweet, honest smile.
Izumi nodded, bowing slightly back. "Same here." And, because he was an inveterate troll, Izumi teleported rather than walking off. Granted, it was only a short distance, but enough that Amu and her charas weren't likely to see him walk off.
Amu Hinamori looked aorund. "What? Hyehhhhh? EHHHHHHH?" Because all uses of power like that need to end in that sound effect.
