Sora has been flat out unconscious for over a week, but by now she's awake and mostly mobile. So one of the first things she's done is sent a text to her girlfriend, 'I'm sorry for being such an idiot' and then follow up 'Can you bring by the homework I missed?' because Sora may have gone crazy for a while, but she's still Sora, and she's horrified about the amount of classes and home she missed.
Jiaying Maki sends a text in return with an ascii art cat giving a thumbs up. If pressed she cheated and it came with the phone's keyboard. Carrying the bag along, she stops at the gate and sends a text like she's always done, then waits quietly to either be let in or to meet Sora at the gate. She's currently dressed comfortably, wearing a t-shirt, an ankle length heavy skirt and a hoodie with the hood pulled up over her ears. She's also feeling a touch lazy about it. Also the hood makes it easy to hide her face!
"I'm so so so sorry." Sora is there to welcome Jiaying, though she's quickly sitting down on a chair in the garden, where she has a blanket ready to cover herself and a bottle of soda and a pair of plastic cups to be drinking from. One of which is empty, the other one is the one she takes a sip from. "Want something to drink?" She asks, "I didn't make any tea so it's this or water."
Jiaying Maki settles the bag down next to Sora and gives a somewhat awkward hug what with the difference in standing/sitting. She then look around, ruffles Sora's hair and settles down on the other chair, resting her elbows on her knees for the time being at least. "Uh.." she hesitates then shrugs, "Sure. Thank you." Before reaching out to poke Sora's side, "And you should be drinking water or juice as long as you have been out. Soda's not great for you." She sounds a bit strange like she's trying to be playful, but can't quite hide something else. She does look relieved though. Sitting up straight after, she offers Sora a warm smile
"I'm allowed to have some joy still, aren't I?" Sora objects to the chastising about choice of drink, leaning over a bit to rest her head on Jiaying's shoulder. In the meantime, she's pouring Jiaying's cup full of soda and hands it over. "I've been such an idiot. Do you think people will forgive me?" She really does seem contrite, like she's beating herself up over it.
Jiaying Maki slips an arm around Sora and leans in against her to give both a hug and support. "I already have. It wasn't just you." She kisses Sora's cheek after and adds softly, "And if anyone doesn't at least give you a chance I'll haunt them for a while or something." That last part definitely sounds like joking. She's been in trouble for her antics recently after all! Cup of soda in hand, she gently swirls it around a few times before adding, "You're allowed joy, I'm allowed to worry right?"
"I know you have, but you wouldn't break up with me even when I was in the middle of doing all that." Sora smiles faintly, "So I know your head isn't screwed on right where I'm concerned." That sounds like joking too, a bit. Or at least a quirky way of saying love makes people more forgiving. "And sure, you can worry. I'm taking things slow and steady, otherwise I would've been back in class already."
Jiaying Maki shakes her head and says, "I was serious when I told you everyone deserves a chance." She pokes the girl and adds, "You always apologized, then the other you took over." There's a pause, "Which kind of helped. She didn't seem like you." There's a few moments of quiet before she says, "I did end up going back home to Taiwan for a while though. Uh.. I may have been acting dumb too."
"She was me, and wasn't, kinda." Sora explains softly, trying to figure out how to best explain it. "I knew I was messing with dangerous magic, so I thought if I tried to ... contain it to my shadow, maybe it wouldn't have the same impact." She shrugs a bit, "I was wrong, the lines between Sora and Shiniko never quite existed, I just managed to keep pretending, because part of me knew what I was doing was wrong." She then adds to the other bit, "Everyone makes mistakes, right?"
Jiaying Maki scowls for a moment and asks, "So it wasn't a split? Because you really did act very different, sometime back to back. Even-" She shakes her head and pulls her knees up against her chest and rests her chin. On her knees, "Everyone does make mistakes, yes." Looking over, she pokes the other girl's head lightly, "I made enough too. Auntie yelled at me for a while for how I was handling things. I did get to spend time home and learning though."
"Part of me wanted to believe it was, that way I didn't have to accept the dark thoughts were mine, but..." Sora sighs a little. "Dark Energy is... it's dangerous. It seduces you, makes you a little worse of a person every time you draw upon it." She explains, "And I thought I could contain that to the part of me that was using it, maybe I could, but I think I was just deceiving myself." She leans over a bit more to wrap her arm around Jia. "I hope no-one got hurt from what you did?"
Jiaying Maki shakes her head and says, "I guess I can see that." She peers at the girl and says, "If someone gives you trouble.." she looks out over the yard, "Any of them, let me know." She's worried about retaliation of any kind and it's showing. She huffs, then lets her breath out slowly and quickly shakes her head, "No one got hurt other than myself, but I put something else at risk that I shouldn't have." She points behind her and says, "They can help, but I wasn't... being smart about it."
"As long as they're not giving me magical trouble, I can fight my own battles." Sora objects a little, she doesn't seem to mind the feelings behind it however. She takes a sip out of her soda and looks up at the sky. "If they are giving me magical trouble, I've got your phone number, and I'm not afraid to use it." She glances behind Jiaying at the last, "Oh."
Jiaying Maki leans in against Sora and says, "I know you can, but you got what I really meant too." She reaches out and gently squeezes the other girl in a proper hug, careful to avoid spilling the soda. As she settles back on her chair, she takes a sip and asks, "How have you been doing since you've woken up? I'd be tired of being in bed by this point I think."
"Mostly very tired." Sora suppresses a yawn, returning the hug. "I'm really sorry, but I should get back to bed. Did you bring my homework?" She finishes her cup of soda, and puts it down, wrapping the blanket around herself as she gets up. "I hope I'll be better company soon."
Jiaying Maki reaches up and playfully tries to tilt Sora's head towards the bag that she set down when she first arrived. "You're going to have a lot to catch up on." Whether she was successful or not. As she stands up though, she slips past to grab the bag and asks, "Want help back to your room first?" Looking for an excuse for a few more minutes at least. Also actually helping out
