"Light of Curiosity, Become Sacred Power!" The words of Cure Spark echo through the twilight as things around her turn violet and a pair of intersecting lightning bolts descend from the sky. The park had turned into a small warzone. Several Kindabads are lying on the ground, knocked out. An untold number of them have vanished completely from the Strawberry Swing attacks. Then there is the massive terribad looking like a figure skater. All around things have been turned into sweets. The Nearby Buildings are looking like stacks of donuts. Cars have become cakes and park benches look like Candy. Then there is the source of this chaos. A woman with sky blue hair, blue eyes, a pink hat and pink outfit. She had been laughing and having tea enjoying her little sadistic show. All in all, its just another day in paradise
""Love Prebrace!" She quickly hits the dial on her prebrace and calls out. "Pretty Cure! Ball Lightning!" She quickly punches The intersecting lightning bolts, sending them flying at the terribad. They form a ball and envelop the creature of darkness and lift it up to the sky.
The Terribad Bellows, "Soo Relaxed!"
"Spark of curiosity, Return to the Heavens!" With that the Terribad vanishes. The poor girl who was trapped in the mirror is released and she promptly returns to figure skating on the ice.
Hosshiwa is annoyed... again. She looks at Spark, "This is the second time you've ruined my tea. I will not forgive this! Maybe after we stick you in a mirror, you will learn how to treat a refined lady like myself! Maybe you will even become one! HA!" With that she opens her umbrella and vanishes.
Cure Spark just sighs. She rubs her head and finds a place to sit down for the moment.
Amulet Heart lands by the thing, her knees bending a little as she lands on the ground a few feet away, her star rods at the ready and... "What? Where'd it go?" she said. She'd SWORN she felt some kind of dark presence. Dark magic. Anything. But now it was gone.
What? She looked around in confusion. "Ummmm... x-egg? x-chara? Youma?" she said, just looking confused as all heck. And then... she saw cure spark. "OH!" she said, a grin forming on her lips. "Did you finish it off already? sorry, I guess I was a bit late this time, heh heh. I hope it wasn't anything too rough."
And the innocent bystander that is Seth was just walking around the Park, when the landscape turned again into the Land of Candies - he had a similar expereience like this one before some time ago, as Cure Spark might recall. Luckily, it was all over before it got serious on his end...
"Seriously", he says, annoyed, "this is getting customary. Might as well just put up a sign..."
Everything promptly returns to normal as the general vanishes. Cure Spark just looks a little tired right now. Still when Amulet Heart approaches, she does stand up and is cordial over everything. "Yeah err. Sorry. It was a Terribad, a bunch of kindabads and Hosshiwa. They've been a real pain lately. Nice to meet you by the way. I'm Cure Spark.
"YAY SPARK-CHAN!" Out of hiding comes the lilac colored She quickly hugs Spark in an almost playful manner. "You did it! You're getting better at fighting those guys off! Oooo! I feel something totally Extreme inside me!! OOO!!! Itch it please!!!" She sticks her nose out.
Spark itches the fairy's nose and she promptly sneezes. Several cards pop out of her backpack. Extreme Sports! The fairy promptly pulls out the Precard Decor and slips them into it. "Lookie Spark! We're getting closer! What do you want to wish for?"
Spark blushes, "I have no idea."
Amulet Heart blinked a few times, backing away. Her mouth fell open. "What in the... is that... did that thing just sneeze on you?" She looked to Su and Miki. "If you girls ever start doing that, no, I'm getting some new minions for my powers. Understand?"
The girls eeped and shook their heads. "No no nooooo!" She then glanced to Seth and nodded. "Yeah, it's Tokyo. What can you do? Come for the the godzilla's, stay for the... terribles? and... other terribles?" she askes the cure.
Seth Locke stops as he approaches. He shakes his head to Amu(let), "Nope. With all the occurrences here in Tokyo, one would expect to see a kaiju at least /once/..." But he concludes, "But alas, no." He smiles; and this is a wider smile, more hopeful. "Light side winning?" He looks at the Charas. "And who're these?"
Cure Spark just laughs a little. "This is Lilac. She is my helper. Blue-sama assigned her to me to help keep me going through this crazy life." She giggles a little and then continues. "When I defeat a creature of darkness, Like the Terribads, I will sometimes get a card. When I get the cards, Lilac feels it. It tickles her nose and it causes her to sneeze. I find it cute!" She giggles and pulls out the a pair of her henshin cards. Can't be giving her identity away after all. "These are the cards I use. They allow me to henshin or change forms. I have some that are every day things and some that are combat forms. Its kinda cool really."
She looks over at Seth and snickers, "Hey there. Its been a while. How are you holding up? Staying out of trouble? Not getting in the way of Hosshiwa and her jerkish ways are you?"
Amulet Heart nodded, cocking an eye. "I... see," she said flatly. The girls stepped forward.
"I'm Su!"
"I'm Miki!"
"And Ran is currently occupied," Amulet said with a nod, crossing her arms. "Huh, so a ton of different forms? That's pretty... interesting." She glanced to the guy. "Guessing you're a magical guy too, then? And yeah, light side always wins. That's why we're all working so hard, after all!"
Seth Locke shakes his head, "Nope. I'm not magical, as far as I know." He ellaborates, "I guess once you see what's behind the curtain, you can't close it back. So yes, I see, or am starting to see magic, but that doesn't make me 'magical'."
He looks back to Spark, "Well, I guess you saved me. I was caught up in Candy Land once again, but you kicked her out before I became a target."
He looks at the floating Chibis, "Well, pleased to meet you. I'm Seth."
"I spend way too much time in Candyland. At least its not Moldsville. One of the other generals I fight with spreads mold all over the place. Its really gross!" Spark comments. "Its their way of spreading misfortune. Still. Doesn't make things less disgusting." She snickers. "But it is fun watching it all vanish.
She turns her attention to the two charas her are introducing themselves. "Hello there Miki, Su. A pleasure to meet you both." She looks at Amulet Heart and nods, "Oh... You're a Guardian aren't you?" She asks with a smile. "And yes. Its a perk of being a Pretty Cure it seems. Plus some of these outfits I get to wear are just cute!
Amulet Heart blinked a few times, making a face. "Wait. You fight a giant mold guy? and sudden x-eggs don't seem so bad at all. That's really nasty." She held out her hand. "I'm Amulet Heart, nice to meet you."
She then blinked. Wait, she knew her. "Why, yes. I'm the joker of the guardians." Pause. "Err, as in that's my title. I don't make jokes."
"It's true, she doesn't," Miki said with a sigh.
"At least not good ones," Su added.
"Who asked you two?!" Amu snapped.
"Why so serious?", Seth can't help but quote, amused at the interactions between Amu and the Charas.
"And all of a sudden, the thought of a sweet tooth doesn't sound that bad", comments Seth when he hears about the mold. "So, I guess it's kinda like their thing, then? An aspect, if you will, that defines them?"
Cure Spark shrugs, "Yeah I guess you could look at it like that. The one with the mold is really lazy. He's a grasshopper type guy and often lounges while his Terribad does all the work. The one with the sweet tooth is very selfish and considers herself a noble lady. There is another one but... Hes just a pain. He thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread!"
She turns her attention back to Amulet Heart. Did She know? Not really. Its just every person she's met so far with Charas was a Guardian. She smiles a little to Amu, "Errr. If your Charas are an extension of yourself... aren't you arguing with yourself?" She asks curiously. "Sorry just an observation." She shakes it off. "Anyway I was looking for a guardian. Actually Blue-Sama suggested I talk to the King's Chair but I haven't seen him around. This is of great importance though. Seriously big stuff."
Amulet Heart shrugged. "Yeah, sweet things are--"
"And spicy," Miki helped.
Amu just stared flatly at the chara. "... your enemies sound like they suck." Paused. "Though, my big enemy is a really, really cute cat boy who flirts with me so... maybe... your things wouldn't be so bad," she said with a little blush. "What? NO! They're just like... well, they are, but they have minds of their own sometimes and I swear they're just BRATS. and they're not so much me as... my potential, I guess. King's chair? Oh, ummm, he's my boyfriend. Actually. He's... kinda sick right now. I can take a message? Eh heh...."
"All this magic thing...", Seth chuckles. "If I start thinking too much about it, my head starts spinning."
He looks at Amu, "I know a little about the Guardians and Charas... But what about the... Pretty Cures, am I right? What're they about?"
Cure Spark looks at Seth and smiles a little. "Okay Well. Pretty Cure are Legendary Warriors. They appear when they are needed most. They fight creatures of darkness and there are a bunch of types of them. For instance, I was made a Precure by one of the Guardian Gods of the Earth. His name is Blue. What you've seen me fighting with is the tip of the iceburg. There are ones like me, made by Blue-sama all over the world. The world is under a major threat from the Phantom Empire. Hosshiwa, Namakelder and Oresky are the Phantom Empire Generals which are responsible for spreading misfortune here in Tokyo."
She looks at Amu. "Oddly enough this brings me to the situation. I sorta called out one of the Generals. I knew what I was doing but I really shouldn't have done it. Not without planning things out before hand. As such, I need advice cause I sorta may have brought a major fight to Tokyo's front door?" She blushes.
Amulet Heart stared at Spark, her mouth falling open. Holy... they did WHAT? "O-oh. Ummm... wow." and there was that inferiority complex acting up again. This kid was saving the world. Amu was stopping a few kids from having tantrums. Not... really in the same ball park.
Then... "You did... what? Oh gosh..." She pinched the bridge of her nose, before nodding. "Here. Give me your number. The king's chair is out of commission. But I've got a few others we can call on. Maybe get Virtue involved in this. What kind of general we talking? Like... is this end of the world bad, knock out the city bad or kids having nightmares bad?"
Seth Locke listens to Cure Spark, all with a smile on his face while Spark explains what the Pretty Cures are about.
Then, Spark talks about calling out one of the Generals, and his smile starts to fade. By the time she's talking about having brought a fight to Tokyo, he's facepalming. Really... awfully... quiet.
It takes several moments for him to come out of that position, where he asks, "Cure Spark... I just wanted to know - if by any chance, of course - you happened to realize your little gambit might just be endangering some... Oh, the last time I checked, /thirty million/ inhabitants!" This last portion is said out loud in a very upset yell! "What are you, /brain dead/!??"
Spark just closes her eyes taking the yelling and insult. Underneath the warrior she is still a young girl and she is taking this like someone much older. Then someone speaks up. Its not Spark but Lilac! "Hey Back off! Do you have any idea what the phantom empire is capable of?! No! So its easy for you to sit back and judge from a comfy position. Unlike you I know what they can do and what they have done! My home is gone! THEY TOOK MY HOME! The entire blue sky Kingdom is now nothing more then Phantom Empire Generals Terribads and Kindabads."
Cure Spark opens her mouth to speak but is promptly cut off by the livid Fairy. "And another thing! Do You think that if she hadn't the Phantom Empire would just go away and ignore Tokyo altogther? NO! They wouldn't Because this City has Hope! It has love and Friendship. They want to snuff that out entirely. They will never stop. Not until they are defeated! Yes Calling out the Jerk was a rushed choice but it is better than letting them show up with their monsters, attacking civilians and leaving so they can do it all over again!"
Spark just jaw drops. That was more then a little surprising to her. She looks at Amu. "Ummm City level threat. The good news is, If you wanna call it that, I did this and they have been wanting to tear into me. The one I called out is Oresky. He is the leader of the Trio that attack here. I fought him before and nearly purified him. That was until Queen Mirage interfered and broke my purification attack. Odds are he might bring along the Precure Hunter. A Very dangerous general who specializes in taking out Precure. I've seen the Graveyard he has. There are hundreds... maybe thousands of precures trapped in mirrors there. Sealed away. For lack of a better word. Dead. If they could be freed of the mirrors.. they would be fine but only a few people who have gone there have ever come back."
Amulet Heart nodded, crossing her arms and listening. she opened her mouth, about to say something. Then the angry rant. She blinked and then stepped between the two. "Okay, enough," she said firmly. "Seth, I understand your worry. I really do. This is a dangerous, and bad situation. It sounds like a lot of people can, and likely will get hurt. But if it's anything like what some of the girls face, then there's not really anything that can be done about it. People like this will attack regardless. And the little thing is right." Thing? "She drew it on herself. Her actions might be saving lives. However..."
She then turns to Spark and kind of scolded her. "You, on the other hand, should have come to us a LOT sooner. You're one of the cures, a guardian of the world, fine. But you know what? There is NO reason to do this alone. It's just not smart. It's dangerous and reckless. And don't tell me you 'don't want to get anyone in danger!' Putting yourself in danger puts us ALL in danger. Because when we work together, we amplify our strength, we don't add to it. When you ask for help, we can watch your back and help keep you safe. Just like you can watch our backs." She took the girls hand.
"And if you don't... who will protect all the people you would have protected before something bad happened? That's why we work together. Because our enemies won't hesitate to gang up on us and separate us, to try and snuff out the hope we bring. But as long as we're together, there's no need for that." She then smiled. "I know this is probably hard. You're a little kid, and yet you have a responsibility most adults would buckle under. But that's why you need to not just be strong, you need to be smart. and that means knowing when to call for help."
She nodded and let her hand go. "So, here, give me your number." She took out a... really old flip phone. Really? "I'll send out the word to virtue and one of the others make you an e-mail you can use so our members can contact you. You won't have to give anyone else your contact information unless you want to. But don't be afraid to ask us for help. We have to protect Tokyo together, you know?"
"You back off!", Seth's anger does not seem to have an end here, snapping at Lilac. "I'm not in the comfy position, I'm in the hot seat! You don't go and put the bully in its place by huffing your chest and tell him to meet you after school in the courtyard, not when the bully has a gang and they own half the neighbourhood. You take him down, quietly, with your own friends in advance, when he least expects it. Precise. Surgical. Count one down." He sighs, shaking his head. "I'm sorry about your world, but if you're here, it's because you're on a mission to keep the same from repeating, am I right? Then, how about guiding her with the important tidbits of information, starting with what she shouldn't do?"
And all of a sudden, he feels tired, his skin goes pale. He goes for a flask in his coat pocket, and once he has it on his hand, flips it open to take two pills. His heavy breathing, he waits to calm down.
Cure Spark sighs, "Okay everyone calm down please." She frowns and sits down on a bench. "I was hoping for a fair fight. I started something with Oresky and I want to finish it. Sadly I didn't realize how bad this was until I got to speak with Blue-sama. He explained to me who canceled my Purification attack. If she's involved I am in way over my head." She looks at Seth, "Look. I get it. I'm sorry I did this. I really am. How many people would it take for you to get fed up with always being on the defensive. A couple? A Few? A Handful? When would you get tired of seeing friends stuck in mirrors while a giant monster destroys your home? That is the position I was in." She sighs and just looks down at the ground.
It takes her a few moments before she speaks. "I was walking with my mom one day. We were going to get a gift for my momma. It was her birthday. When out of nowhere, This grasshopper guy, Namakelder. He started talking to my mom. Next thing I know, She was sealed in a mirror and a giant monster started attacking. I didn't want to leave her. A few magical types showed up and told me to run. I did. I had to. There was just no way I could fight anything. Then I ran into a guy who seemed to know what was going on. He offered me a chance to go back and rescue my mom. He gave me a this little pink crystal. When I took it, It turned into my Mirror and my Cards which allow me to become Cure Spark. It wasn't the man... Who, as it turns out was Blue-sama. The only way that crystal would react that was is if the person had the potential to be a Pretty Cure. I went back and fought and I rescued her. My first day as a Magical girl and I had to rescue my mom. I have seen friends and strangers suffer the same fate as my mother did that day. Its gotta stop."
She looks at Amu and blushes. "I umm don't have a phone. Here is the land line number but... My phone was taken from me after I sorta took it apart to see how it worked?" She sighs. "I know. I get it. I can handle a Terribad here and there. A boat load of Kindabads... I went against a very tough general and nearly won. Its why I've gave the challenge in the first place. I didn't realize just how far he would go to insure he doesn't lose."
Amulet Heart nodded, listening to their words. They both made good points. She blinked. "That method only works when the bully is someone you can take down quietly. When they hide in different areas and you have no idea where they are, then the only option is to lure them out. Which she obviously did," she said with a shake of her head. "She's trying to end this and got in over her head. It happens."
She then blinked and sighed. "Really? Took your phone apart? Well, if that's what makes you happy. And... it sounds like you've had a lot on your plate. I'm not saying you can't handle it, Spark. I'm saying you shouldn't have to handle it. There are a LOT of enemies out there. If you want to win, you have to win every time. But... they only have to win once," she said firmly. "That's why we always have to make sure we fight together. so we can always win, no matter what. Because you have a very important job to do, and if we lost you, who knowswhat would happen to the rest of the world?"
Smiles and nods, "Well I like to run with teams and stuff. Sadly I don't get to often. And when things are going crazy I just... I go and I get into the fight ya know? I don't like seeing people get hurt. I just want to help everyone ya know?" She sighs and rubs the back of her head.
She turns and looks to Lilac, "Could you hand me the Precard Decor?" She asks the fairy. She pulls it out of her bag and hands it to her. Quietly Spark begins looking over the different cards. The various memories of fights gone by. "I pour myself into every fight because, I don't want people to lose those they love. I love my family. If anything ever happens to them it will destroy me. Then I look at these other people who are being hurt by the enemies that We are suppoed to be taking down... It hurts."
Amulet Heart nodded, reaching out and patting her on the back. "I know. It... really does hurt. And it sucks. There's absolutely nothing wrong with fighting alone if you have to. But there's a difference between not having a team because none is available, and not having one because you just didn't try. That's what Virtue is for. Helping each other when the times calls for it." She reached up and ruffled her hair.
"And I'll talk to the other members of virtue. Maybe we should set up like... a monthly gathering. So everyone can get to know each other. We do need to strengthen the bonds between us..."
Spark looks at the Amu and nods. "I'm not part of Virtue. I only know a little about it. Things like Gull-chan being kicked out because of her relationship with Miss White. That The Guardians, who are mostly Chara Magical types, are heavily involved with it. That Blue-sama is as well. I was wanting to get involved with it but, things have been a little crazy lately."
She looks at Lilac and hugs her, "Thanks. We should get going soon." She smiles and looks around. "We will get some Tayaki on the way home."
Amulet Heart nodded, rubbing the back of her head. "Yeah. We are. And... we try our hardest. We'll keep an eye out for this guy, okay? And I'll call you with the email information so people can contact you. Okay?"
She then hummed. "And just because you're not a member of virtue doesn't mean we won't help you. In the end, we're all magical girls, right?"
Cure Spark nods, "We are. Unless you are a guy then you're a magical boy right?" She snickers. "With sparkles apparently too." Yup she's seen Tadase a few times. Quietly she stands and gets ready to go. "Keep in touch. And if you happen across Masuko Miyo, You don't know any Pretty Cures. You're not a Magical girl. She is a reporter and a bit nuts at times."
Amulet Heart nodded, grinning. "Oh, yes. Tadase-kun has the best sparkles." Then blinked and blushed. "I-I mean... errrr... Who? Ummm... okay?" she said, giving her a big wave and... once making sure seth didn't die, would start to head off too! With new info!
Spark Glances back to Amulet Heart, "Don't worry. Your secret is Safe... Amu-let Heart." She comments and takes off into the dark of the evening.
