Sakura Kinomoto was out and about in the forest, with Tomoyo. Because of course she was. Chasing yet another card, because what else would she be doing? She was the card captor! It was in her job description.
This card in particular was being... well... it was being a butt. The move card had gotten into Tomoyo's camera and was now making it hop and dance about, dragging them off, deeper into the woods as Sakura tried to catch it. Tomoyo tried to keep up, but was quickly falling behind Sakura, who was using the jump and dash card, separately, to keep up with it. "HOLD STILL!" She lunged. It disappeared. She hit the ground. "Gahhhhh."
Sakura Kinomoto didn't seem to notice him, even as she left Tomoyo behind, leaping up a cliff face and separating herself from her friend. Kero was with her, she was sure Tomoyo would be fine. The most important thing was getting her friend's camera back. Hop, hop, dash, run, then... okay. What had Kero said? Read the signs. Sense the card. She took a deep breath and readied herself... before turning.
"YAH! Return to your true form! Clow card!" she yelled, thrusting her wand out and managing to hit it before it popped back into existence. The card formed and... flew to her hands. Her eyes went wide. "Kero-chan, I did it! I... I... I?" She looked around.
Where in the world was she?
Sakura Kinomoto froze. What... what was that? There was someone there! Was it... oh gosh what if it was a monster?! She'd since learned monsters were REAL! She drew her wand back, raised it and...
Wait, a person? Her defenses lowered instantly. "O-oh! Hello!" she called out, grinning up at him. "I uhhhh... just kind of got lost," she said. "I errr..." she looked down at the camera now held in her hands. "I was... recording nature and got distracted. You know how it is," she lied. He probably didn't know how it was. She was an awful liar.
Sakura Kinomoto blinked and... "Alex-kun!" she said happily. "Jump!" she called, before leaping into the air and landing besides him. A big grin was on her lips as she stepped forward and gave him a great big hug. "What are you doing out here? Did you see that? I was able to sense the card and where it was going! All by myself! I didn't need Kero-chan to direct me this time!" she said happily, practically hopping up and down with excitement.
"I can't wait to show Kero-chan and Tomoyo-chan!" She then stared at him and blinked. "Is... something wrong? You seem... different." She couldn't quite place it. But something felt... off about him.
Sakura Kinomoto gasped, her eyes going wide. She took his hand, or tried to, clasping it in hers. "A-are you okay? Are you hurt? Do you need help? I-I can take you to see Haruna-sempai! She's really smart! Or caped magic tuxedo man? He apparently healed me up and I think he can do other stuff!" She tugged on the hand.
"Come on, come on! Let's go! I-if you need help, we need to get it for you, right?" she said, trying to be helpful as she struggled to pull him towards aid, reaching down to grab her phone. "I'll call ahead."
Sakura Kinomoto blinked a few times, staring up at him. "They... know? Know what? What happened? Did... did something bad happen? Was it one of the cards? Do you need help?" she asked, staring up at him with wide eyed concern, desperate to help him but having no idea what was wrong.
Sakura Kinomoto paused, her phone in hand. And then... he said that. She shrieked, toppling back and... fell out of the tree, arms flailing. And then... he caught her. And she stared up at him. She fell out of things a LOT. The sky, off roofs, off towers...
"Are... are you going to eat me?" she asked, with a little squeak.
Sakura Kinomoto stared and then, gently, was placed back on the branch. She stared at him with wide eyed wonder. "Wait, you are? There are different kinds of vampires? What kind of vampire are you supposed to be?" she asked softly, her voice only barely above a whisper, as if she was afraid that her talking too loud would disturb him and send him into some kind of mad, violent frenzy of teeth and claws.
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, staring up at him with wide eyed wonder. "You... drain energy? That's all? Do you like... bite people to do it?" Then her eyes glimmered. "Oh, oh, do you sparkle? That'd be really awesome! I saw this thing about sparkly vampires and they were so pretty and it was cool but Touya said I was too young to watch it and then he said it was stupid anyway..." she said, puffing her cheeks up in annoyance at her big brother.
Sakura Kinomoto looked so disappointed. "So... you don't sparkle? Awwww. That's no fun. I don't know. The vampires in that movie sparkled..."
Then she cocked her head to the side. "Don't feel a lot of what? Energy? Good energy?" she asked, sounding confused. "Are you feeling sick? Are you sure you don't need some medicine?"
