BOOST-CHAN IS BACK FROM AMERICA! Haruna Kurosawa grabbed Corvus- who was currently in humanoid form as he was manning the counter at the Gullwing Cafe and she left one of the other staff in charge of the till.
Corvus's 'Human form' looks something this: http://i.imgur.com/g3PRcMk.jpg. A little younger than Haruna, can pass for a sibling and that appears to the relationship to anyone looking in from the outside.
She barges into the Minami Mart and looks around a bit. She scans the store. Seeking. No. /Hunting/ for signs of her friend.
She may be trying to smell for BBQ and or KFC or traces of the dread 'THE COLONEL' that she still swears is actually a thing somehow.
Corvus looks bored as he sighs and rubs a hand through his hair. "I'm pretty sure Yuko-chan isn't hiding in the bin of peanuts." he says.
Haruna digs her face out of the bin. "HEY YOU NEVER KNOW!" she insists.
Even after being gone for so long, Yuko's settled back into the daily routine at the Minami Mart fairly easily. Check stock, restock, make sure price tags are where they need to be, reset the counters on the registers, more stocking... Everything's still where it needs to be, and Yuko's making sure everything's going along like a well-oiled machine!
Right until she hears a familiar voice, anyway. She restrains herself from rushing in to greet her friend, though, first passing off her cart of stuff to one of the part-timers and giving him a brief message to take back to her parents. As the part-timer takes over for her, the green-haired girl checks her uniform to make sure everything's in place, slicks back her hair like some sort of 90s rocker, leans against a nearby shelf, and in her best dandy-man voice...
"/Yo, Haruna-chan! What up, sweet beak?/" She's already stifling giggles as she says that in stilted English, approaching her friend to help her out of the bin should she need it and hugging her otherwise. "Aah... That didn't sound right at all, did it? What was that line again...?"
Haruna Kurosawa turns her head to look at Yuko and...! "Yuko-chan!" she says throwing herself forward and giving her friend a BIG return hug. Not too hard though. Yuko-chan still needs to be able to breathe after all!
She grins. "Huh?" she asks a bit. "Um. Oh! I went to America with Hannah recently for.. one year anniversary." she blushes a bit. "I took her there on surprise. Everyone talks really weird and wears cowboy hats where Hannah used to live." she says softly.
"...did they wear cowboy hats all the time where you were?" she asks.
"I bet everyone wears cowboy hats!" she insists. She's wrong of course.
"I think it's like. Sweet cheeks? Is that it?" she asks tapping her bottom lip.
Corvus waves. "Yo." he says.
"Oh right." she leans in and whispers. "That's Corvus-chan. He can turn into like a human-thing!"
"Human. Just a human." he insists.
"Just a human that is secretly a seagull." she whispers at Yuko-chan.
Corvus eyerolls.
Catching Haruna and hugging her back tightly, Yuko wiggles around a bit with her friend before letting go to give them both some room to breathe. "Hi, Haruna-chan~ Oh? Aw, I guess I must've missed you both. Still, it's good to see you agaaain!"
Because three people meeting up in the same place in ALL OF AMERICA is a practical expectation.
"Still, it's good to hear you're both... Uhmm." She hooks her index fingers together with a light blush as well, the giggles and shakes her head. "No, no cowboy hats. Well, aside from one or two people that I worked with..."
That's definitely not a reference to anyone! Nope. Not at all.
"/Cheeks/! That's the word. I'll have to remember that for next time..." After making a mental note of that, Yuko blinks slowly as Corvus greets her and Haruna reveals his identity. "That's...?" She looks up and down slowly at Corvus' human form, squinting slightly one moment and stroking her chin the next. After several long moments, she holds a hand up slowly and...
Gives him a thumbs up. What's that even supposed to mean?
"How have things going back here, anyway? I bet I missed a whole lot of everything..."
Haruna Kurosawa head tilts. "Oh! Um. Lots of stuff. Really. The Phantom Empire is being dopes. Um, there's a couple new Pretty Cure! Cure Spark is someone I need to introduce you to soon, she's one of Blue-sama's like us!" she beams. "and there's Cure Flora, Princess of Flowers!" she says with wide eyes leaning forward. "She's not one of Blue's, but she's fighting these jerks called 'DysDark'." she says.
"The Phantom Empire have been really mouthy lately." she says. "Right. Spark."
"Spark kind of. /Almost/ defeated Oresky for reals." she says. "Like I was there! I saw it! All that evil was driven out of him but then. Something powerful hit back and it kind of undid everything." she says.
"Oresky is calling Spark out now and Spark wants to beat him up for good. We're worried and she could really use the help." she says.
"Um there's. Something going on with some Puella too, but... can't talk about it here." she says quietly.
"Right. Also. Hannah is being an egotistical jerk again and if you see her doing something stupid punch her in the gut until she stops. I'll make her pay the jerk tax later." she insists.
She doesn't say the jerk tax is a hug.
"Um. Oh. Hannah. Like. Was possesed by this awful sword. Yeah." she says. "But I fixed it's clock good with Tuxedo Kamen and Kunzite." she says.
"Oh! I opened up a trendy Coffee Shop!" she says. "Up the road!"
That's a lot of news to take in at once. Yuko's got a bit of a blank stare on her face for a short time, but she lets out an intrigued 'oooh' once she recovers. "Spark and Flora... Cool! They'll be really helpful if we wanna bring Oresky down for real real. And... DysDark?"
She furrows her brow, then shakes her head. "Not a name I've heard yet. If I find out anything, though... Maybe we can get an info pool going! Or... At least group together to beat up Oresky when the time comes." Yuko punches a palm into her fist with a determined grin.
The mention of Hannah draws another snicker and confused look from the green-haired girl at Haruna, and then she nods slowly after a few moments. "She's a good fighter, so... Yeah, we'll just have to show her not to be jerky in her... That. And the Puella thing, too."
Yuko's still showing discretion as well, and she waves lightly when her mother walks by their aisle with a cart.
"A sword, though...? Huh. Sounds like something from... Anyway. Did you break the sword or leave it in the ocean or something?"
The mention of the coffee shop is what really gets her eyes to light up, though. "Really? ohoh... So! Are you in need of any new stock? We got some new stuff in from a new startup in America that might be the next big thing..."
Haruna Kurosawa says. "I haven't met any of those guys yet, but Flora says that they trap people in 'Cages of Desperation' to use thier dreams to power a 'Zetsuborg'?" she asks. "It sounds similar to what The Phantom Empire does, just. They use happiness for the Terribads." she says.
She says. "Oh. Hannah gave the sword to one of her associates. I wasn't able to destroy it." Riventon , that is. Which was the best idea ever.
"Oh! Um. Talk to Corvus after about that, he's my manager for that stuff." Corvus waves a bit. He's perusing snack options.
"But sure we can work out a deal." she smiles. "I handle the sweets and coffee side well. Might be nice to do 'salty/savory' too..." she says tapping her bottom lip.
"It does, yeah... Different name, same problem. We just need to break those things open, then!" A pause, and then Yuko's waving down the aisle again. "N.. Nothing, dad! Just talking about... Game stuff!"
Settling down into a more restrained volume now, Yuko nods slowly at Haruna while pondering that sword once more. "With her comapny? Er.. Or was it just a group? Aah, it's been too long, but... You think they can handle it?" There's a concerned look on her face at that, and it's pretty obvious she's skeptical about said associates.
Nodding towards Corvus in return for that wave, Yuko starts pacing a bit while she mulls over both business and magical business. Precures on one side, monstrous swords on the other, and now...
COFFEE DEALS. Yuko's eyes light up once more, and Haruna might just see the yen signs floating for a moment! "Salty, eh? We do have those little packs of potato chips that come in all sorts of weird 'gourmet flavors', so that could probably be marked up a lot... And the coffee! And the cakes! Oh, there's a lot of cakes to look at..."
Haruna Kurosawa grins. "We bake pastries and pies and cakes on site! Well. They're not... fresh fresh. But they come from wholesome sources premade. I visited the factories and stuff to see how the operations go, because that's what the guidebook I was reading said to do!" she says.
"Right. Do you know the jerk that took me away and brainwashed me during that whole. Scorn thing?" she asks quietly. "He's 'well' again. I mean. Good. Well. He helped me set the Coffee Shop up." she beams.
"Yeah I can handle Hannah-chan." she rolls her eyes a bit. "She's just going through another one of her things." she says.
"Hopefully she'll learn to stop it this time." she says softly.
She keeps a lower voice for Yuko's sake!
"Fresh enough." Yuko replies with a knowing wink, her mouth already salivating at the thought of trying new food at a new place. Besides, it's not that often she runs into the same supplier, right?
"I remember that, yeah... He is now? Huh... Wait. You're sure he's not.. Like. Using it as a front for any shaaady business?" She pauses, then leans in close with a more mischievous grin on her face. "... Is he cute?"
A pause for dramatic effect, and then Yuko leans back with an awkward chuckle. "Ah.. Kidding, kidding!"
Is she really? Well, if Hannah's turned around enough, then maybe this former-brainwasher... Not that Haruna has to know about that sort of plotting just yet, of course.
"Well, if you need an extra hand or two to keep her pinned down, you know who to call on." She gives Haruna a playful nudge, then glances between her and Corvus. "So! What can I get for you two? We've got a bunch of new stock in~"
Haruna Kurosawa smirks. "He's cute, yes but he's also kind of taken already and I guess you could fight her for it but like. She'd punch through you, probably." she says. "And nah he's fine now. I trust Mamoru and his guardians. And if I have a problem like that then something is wrong and I need to tell him and he'll straighten it out." she beams.
Corvus says. "Where's the american stuff." he asks in turn.
"Oh! Right! Do you have American stuff since you went or what that pleasure and not a bussiness trip?" she grins a bit.
Yuko snaps her fingers. "Aw, darn. Well, worth a shot." One day, Yuko. One day.
"Still, that's good to know. That you trust them all, I mean. I wonder how everyone's doing now... I gotta catch up with so many people now!" Giggling lightly, there is a pause as she considers... It really has been a year since she's seen everyone. So many new magical girls and threats to find out about, probably all sorts of things she's missed...
One thing at a time. "The American stuff? Two aisles down. I met with some of our suppliers there, so we've got whole boatload of new stuff from there now!" And that fire's back as Yuko leads Corvus and Haruna over to... THE IMPORTS AISLE. "Have you ever heard of poutine? It's weird, but it's so good...!"
