Sakura Kinomoto had been resting. Had been having a great dream about Yukito. Oh Yukito... He was so amazing and nice and amazing. But then there was something that woke her up. Just this... odd sense of.... despair. It was... awful. It seemed to flow through her entire being and made her open her eyes.
She looked around in confusion, then her eyes widened. Wait. Was that... magic? No. It was something... different. For one, it didn't make her feel good. It felt... bad. She sighed and slowly slipped off her braces and such(she was getting good at that), before making her way to the window. She looked outside... and then saw it.
This weird, shadowy... thing. Just hovering over the hospital, outside one of the windows. It sent chills down her body and made her take a small step back. Then she shook her head. "N-no. I need to... come on." She drew a card. "Jump!" And then leaped out the window, little wings on her feet, jumping from wall to wall to make her way to the roof. "H-hey! You!" she called out.
Sakura in a hospital gown. Not the most intimidating sight.
Sayaka hadn't visited the hospital in a long time; She didn't exactly have the greatest of memories there, having been beaten up on her first outing with magical girls, and secondly when she came to make a wish for a boy she liked - a boy who never returned the feeling. It was also the first time that Kyouko had expressed her feelings towards Sayaka. Now, those memories leave a bad taste in her mouth.
But, Sayaka was feeling lonely, and she still hadn't seen Madoka in ages. Had she returned from her vacation with Homura? Or had she skipped town completely? well, one thing she knew for certain was that Madoka never missed a volunteer shift at the hospital, and so Sayaka found herself retracing her footsteps to the hospital.
However, something's not right..Upon arriving on Sakura's floor, she immediately senses something wrong. "What is this, a wraith..?" no, the signature wasn't quite as strong as a witch at least, but her soulgem was certainly reacting to..Something.
"Alright then, guess I have no choice!" pulling out her soulgem, ducking into an empty room, Sayaka transforms, surrounding her body in brilliant blue ribbons and re-emerging as Puella Magi Sayaka Miki! "The rooftop?" it seems to be where the energy signature is coming from! Without a moment to spare, Sayaka leaps out an open window, heading towards said rooftop, unaware just yet, that there's another girl out there in a hospital gown..
Sakura Kinomoto stared at the monster, drawing a card. "L-listen. Ummm... I don't know what you are. Or what you want. But I... don't mean you any harm." She slowly inched closer to it. The thing wasn't moving, yet, seemingly focused on something else.
She kept getting closer and closer, slowly lowering her guard. "Hello? What are you? Are you lost? Are you a friend of some magical girls? Are you--"
And then Sayaka arrived! Or rather, as she cleared the roof top, Sakura eeped. Then realized, wait, normal people didn't jump out the window like that.
It did, however, leave her distracted. She turned away, right when the wraith turned to her and struck out. The movement caught her eye and she only barely had time to bring up her wand to guard herself, getting flung back and rolling along the ground.
Sayaka narrows her eyes. A wraith! And it's after the girl! As Sakura gets attacked by the wraith, Sayaka grits her teeth, rushing at it with her sword, "Let her go, you fiend! I'm the one you want!" she snarls, slashing her sword at the creature. Hey, it's just a single wraith, shouldnt be too much trouble. While she fights the creature, hacking and slashing this way and that, she glances sidelong at the girl.
"You okay?" Looks like she'll have to deal with the wraith before checking on her, however. But how strange that she seems to see the wraith too! Is she another magical girl? The wand isnt noticed yet as Sayaka focuses on fighting the hideous creature. She'll worry about the details later.
Sakura Kinomoto groaned and opened her eyes and then, slowly... looked up.
She stared for a moment and then... "Oh my gosh," she whispered. That girl... was... SO COOL! Her eyes practically sparkled as she watched the girl swing, parry, hack, slash. The wraith didn't stand a chance, the girl was--
Wait. Ack! She was supposed to HELP! She lifted up her card. "E-err, right! Ummm, ummm, Windy! Slow down its movements as best you can!" she yelled, before tapping the card. The winds shot out, past Sayaka, and seemed to wrap around the creature in chains of wind. It didn't stop the creature, but it certainly slowed it down and made Sayaka's job even easier to tear it apart.
Sayaka's so busy fighting the creature, who seems particularly fast this time, that she is caught off-guard by the ribbons of wind that shoot out, wrapping around the creature, significantly slowing it down. "Wha..?" glancing over her shoulder, she realizes that the girl is the one who cast the spell, and she smirks and nods, "Thanks! I'll take it from here!"
Well, since she's got an audience, might as well make a big show of it! It's only one wraith afterall, and not that big of a threat. "Alright, let's finish this" tracing an arc above her, Sayaka summons seven swords, and with a swing of her arm, she sends them dancing and flying towards the creature. "Shooting stinger!" she yells as she carefully slices the creature at right angles, times seven, trying to chop it to bits!
The creature never stands a chance, the swords cleaving through it and tearing it apart, piece by piece. Then, with a flash of darkness, the wraith disappears, leaving only its grief seed behind.
And the moment Sayaka looked back to see Sakura, she'd see the kid only a few feet behind her, wand clasped firmly in her hands, staring up at the girl like she'd just met an idol. "Oh. My gosh that was so COOL! Oh my gosh! H-how have I not met you yet? That was so awesome! It was like Tsubasa-chan, but even better! How do you summon all those swords? Are you a new magical girl? A-are you friends with the other magical girls? Oh my gosh oh my gosh!" Welp, looks like Sayaka made a new fan today at least.
Well, that was easy! Sayaka doesn't disperse the swords until she's certain that there are no more wraiths around. Yup, must have been an isolated attack. With a smile, she pulls up her hand, summoning the swords back which merge into one, then she resheathes the cutlass in her belt before turning to face the girl.
"Heh, I'm nothing like Tsubasa. I'm a Puella Magi, Sayaka Miki, at your service!" She grins and bows to the girl with a flourish. "Nice to meet you, looks like you've got some magic tricks of your ownAlthough I cant say I have ever seen a magical girl as young as yourself..Except maybe, Momo Sakura." she smirks. Geez, they get younger all the time.
"what's your name?"
Sakura Kinomoto blinked, and then nodded. "Oh, Kyouko-chan's lil sister? Yeah! She seems nice! My name is Sakura Kinomoto! Nice to meet you!" She folded her hands in her lap and quickly bowed. "I, err, am temporarily in the hospital until they... well, until i no longer need to pretend to be hurt. Eh heh."
She glanced to the thing that dropped. "So... what was that? I don't think I've seen one before. Though I've mostly seen the cards but... that didn't feel like a card. That felt... bad. Like... like having too much jello and it kind of bunches up in your tummy and you wish you didn't have that last bite because it doesn't hurt but it's really, really uncomfortable."
Sayaka arches a brow, "Hmm? What do you mean..Pretending to be hurt?" she blinks, "Oh wait, you're some kinda magical girl, aren't you? I saw your wand..And that wind spell you summoned was pretty cool! I suppose you can probably magically heal yourself too, huh?" she sighs, shaking her head, "But you're sooo young! it's pretty dangerous out there for one so young to be fighting monsters like that. How did you get hurt, anyways?"
Sayaka glances over her shoulder at the mention of the wraith, as if it might still be there. But fortunately it's not. Not enough to create a grief cube though, "Oh that? It's a wraith..They're usually invisible to normal people, only those with magical ability can even see them. Basically they're like vampires, sucking all the emotions out of you. They usually appear when someone is feeling down, or drained or upset or angry. They prey on negative emotions and leave you feeling pretty drained. That was just a minor wraith though. What kinda card are you talking about?"
Sakura Kinomoto blinked a few times, then blushed. "A-actually... Mamoru-sempai healed me up. He was the most awesome and ummm... I got hit by a car. A really big one. A truck." Couldn't meet her gaze now. "It, ummm, really hurt me. Bad. I... was in surgery almost a whole night and... they say I almost didn't make it."
She then perked up and pulled out her cards. "Oh, the clow cards! I ummm, I'm the card captor! It's my job to capture all of the clow cards to avoid a... great disaster, thing," she said with a nod. "And, err, each card is like a different spell. Like jump helps me jump really high, wind lets me control the winds, little can shrink me down to the size of an ant..."
Sayaka smiles, "Oh, Mamoru-san's the best. I didn't realize he had healing abilities too!" well, that's one other thing she didnt know about him. Really, she should pay him a visit soon, too. "So..A big truck, huh? Guess that's pretty...Mundane, but better than being attacked by a youma or something.."
Wait, that sounded pretty insensitive. She hits her head with her palm, "Geez, sorry about that! That came out all wrong! A big truck huh? That sounds scary, surgery and all? Well, I'm glad you made it out alright. I'll have to thank Mamoru-san next time I see him!" She offers the girl a warm smile.
"Clow cards, huh? What are those? Like that wind spell you cast? You mean, that was from a Clow card? Like spells, you mean? That's pretty cool..But I guess those can get dangerous in the wrong hands."
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, giggling. "Oh gosh yeah! He's the coolest! It hurt so much back then, but he took it all away! And... it's fine. It was my own fault. If I'd been more careful, I wouldn't have gotten hurt."
She then blinked. "Oh, well... they can be a little bit. But..." She held them to her chest and smiled. "Each and every card has their own personality. Their own thoughts and goals. They aren't bad, though they've done a few naughty things. They're... my friends. Each and every one of them." And then she smiled up at the girl and held out her hand. "Y-you're really cool too! W-will you be my friend too?"
Sayaka arches a brow, "Huh? Those cards..Have personality?" wow, she learns something new every day! "So..they're like..Sentient beings? Spirits or something? I wonder, how many are there in total?" she smiles a bit though at the word 'friend', "So they help you then? That's really cool! Everyone needs friends. You must be a pretty special person to be able to summon them like that! I mean, not just anyone can use magic."
However, when Sakura asks if she can be her friend, Sayaka just blinks. She's...Not really a good friend to anyone, and seems to have caused more harm than good historically, but this girl is so young and sweet, and perhaps she can teach her a thing or two. Or at the very least, she can protect her from all the nasties out there. "Sure! I'd be honoured to be your friend, Sakura-chan!"
She peers around, "But, you must be cold out here in your night gown, perhaps we should return to your room?"
Sakura Kinomoto blushed and then nodded. "O-oh, right! Yeah, ummm... Oh! I'll take care of it!" she said with all the excitement of a little kid who wanted to show off for their cooler sempai. She drew a card. "Float! Take us back to my room!" An orb of light would surround and pick them up, then gently float them through the air and back to her room, where she slid into bed and into like... a dozen bindings. Holy crud how big HAD the car been that hit her?!
"And I'm really nothing special. Honestly, almost all the cards I've gotten I've only got because other people saved me and helped me get them. But they're all really, really cool! Some of them are a bit naughty at times, but they're still a lot of fun and have saved me so many times!"
"Huh? What's this?" she peers around curiously as the orb suddenly pops out of nowhere, picks them up and sends them floating harmlessly to the girl's room. "Wow, this is incredible!" she steps out, peering around the room, then back at Sakura, "And you're so wrong! You MUST be something special, if you can summon and control these powerful cards! I'm pretty sure no one else could even touch them. I really hope you are able to find all of your Clow Cards. They must be so lost out there without you.."
Well, now that they're no longer in danger, Sayaka de-henshins back, in a flurry of ribbon and light, "Alright, I think we're safe now. Sheesh, I dunno why the hospital attracts so much trouble, but as long as I'm around, I'll make sure you're safe while you're here! By the way...Do you happen to know a girl namede Madoka Kaname? She's a volunteer here, but i havent seen her in a long time now. I'm a little concerned about my friend.."
Sakura Kinomoto blinked a few times and shook her head. "No. I'm afraid not. I've... met almost all the staff working here, too." It was true. so many of them had come to pinch her cheeks and go 'So cute!'... Blame Tomoyo. To be Sakura was to live a life of being glomped.
However, the praise brought smiles to her face. "W-wow, you really think so? Y-you're so cool! And... well, there is... one other person who can do it. Riventon-kun. He... managed to steal them but..." She frowned. "I'm not sure how i feel about it yet. I... think he was just... lonely," she mumbled softly. "So we're kind of catching the cards together, now."
