It's late night in Uninari city in the harbor area, all the shops have closed it usally quiet expect for the occasonal tourist looking out over the water. Tonight someone a bit more usual has come to this area.
"Are you sure it around this area", a teenage girl says dressed in red and white outfit carrying a ridoulusy huge axe.
"I'm sure of it!", her tiny compaion a fiary says flying around here..
The girl sighs, "We haven't seen anything yet. Mabye it was just a rumor.."
"Don't get so glum!",the fairy says. "If we don't find anythign tonight we can come back tommmrow night!",
"Tommrow? My parents are going to get suspious..", she keeps walking around the harbor, the fiary sticking close to her.
Yep, it's late at night allright and thankfully it's near the pear cause under it is a large blue wolf. He wouldn't normally be here, but it's late and he was around and hey why not. But, he's not doing anything heroic, or villainy, or any of the like. No, what he's doing is, fishing. Yep, he's standing above the water trying to see if he can catch any really fresh sea fish for a late night snack, how heroic of him.
Only slighly murmuring to himself, "Comeon, it can't be that hard. The humans do it with poles and things. You are a mighty guardian beast, you can easily catch a fish with your paw." Clearly, talking to himself and repromanding himself for failing as a guardian beast to catch a fish, kinda sad really.
One reason why the fish might be hard to catch? The noise. Because at first, while the splashing is soft, the noise increases quite distinctly. It might take some looking, but the source of the noise is soon clear; a figure in a long coat, boots, and a rather impressive hat is chasing after something rather nimble and flying, flailing to catch it while shouting, "Barbeque Parrot! Deep Fried parrot! Stewed Parrot! Parrot on a skewer!"
"Awk!" Comes the very concerned noise from the-- yes, distinctly parroty flying creature, "Tide-kun--"
"Tide-SAMA to you, you crazy bird!" the girl says-- clearly and unmistakeably a girl-- while she chases, trying to catch the dodging bird. "Stupid bird!"
Vepsa turns she thought she hear some voices at the end of the peir. Then they get louder and spot a girl chasing a parrot. She just blinks and watch the two run by. She turns to the fairy. "Any idea who girl is Sunbeam?"
The fairy, Sunbeam crosses her arms and think for a second. "Nope! I have no idea! Best to ingore them."
Vespa sigh hefting her axe and putting it over her shoulder. "Some help you are I'm going to ask the girl some questions mabye they have sene something. Hey pirate girl!", she calls out to Junko.
Zafira grumbles, upon hearing the noise. You know it's always something, somewhere, someone trying to ruin his meals. At home it's the girls, always doing something, out here on a pier, it's girls doing something. He just can't catch a break, and sighs. He climbs up the pier and looks over at the noise, and licks his chops. Well, if he can't get any fish, maybe a nice bird will do, yeah that could be an interesting taste. A careful eye finds the Axe-girl and her little companion as well, hmmm. Nah, probably wouldn't taste good. He hops on the pier, and slowly sneaks along, tracking his pray and keeping an eye and an ear towards them all.
"No-- Tide-k...how can I call you Captain if you never act like one!" The bird says, wildly dodging left and right and up and down, barely one step ahead of the rather determined girl. "You have responsibilities!" But then he turns to look at the pirate-girl, "And if you'd just behaved a bit more like a gi--irk!"
With all his talking, the parrot makes a mistake, and the girl manages to catch him with both hands, eyes blazing and grin downright manaical, "I have you now, you-- huh? Pirate girl?"
Blinking, girl and parrot both turn to look towards Vespa, the girl letting the bird go and immediately giving a nervous laugh, waving towards Vespa, "Eh? Pirate girl? Of course not, of course not, I'm just a girl." She says...unconvincingly, considering atop her head is that rather majestic and piratical hat, skull-and-crossbones and all, not to mention the distinct outfit. "Pirates? In this day and age? Of course not!" The parrot squawks in agreement, and Tide Captain glares sidelong at him before returning to gaze to Vespa, "Nevermind the unnecessary things. How can I, clearly someone who isn't a pirate, help you?"
Vespa looks totally unconvinced. "Okay. If you say so not-pirate girl.", then again Vespa stands out with her outfit a ridously huge axe and a fairy floating next to her.
The fairy floats abit close to Junko looking at her curiously.
"I'm", she pauses for a second. "I'm Arcane Guardain Number 6, the Axe Knight!", dramatic pose! "I was just wondering if you see anything usual around here not-pirate girl. ..Well other than me."
Zafira slinks closer and clsoer, well if she wanted something unusual, then she was about to get a bit of a suprise in that regard. He hops up on a roof near them, then slowly walks to the edge and sits down, making no attempt to hide the noise or himself in the least, "Yes, I'd say something unusual. You. Do you know how hard it is to catch dinner, when... you have people making so much noise. Let alone, squaking flying meals?" Ignoring the fairy, as he's not really sure what to think of her, or call her at the moment.
It's at this point, as Tide Captain is looking blankly at Vespa in response to that introduction, that she seems to notice the giant axe. And the flying fairy. "Is... that...?" She points directly at the pair, looking over at the parrot to try and confirm that he's seeing this too. And then there is another voice, and the pirate looks around for the source, "Eh? Oh!" And now she points towards Zafira, "Axe-chan, that's a talking dog!" She declares, shocked. "Super unusual!" Because a girl weilding an axe, a talking parrot, a girl dressed as a pirate and a /fairy/ aren't unusual enough.
Sunbeam gaps and points as well. "It's a talking wolf! She looks a Junko and Sunbeam. "That what surpised you both about all this a talking wolf?", Vespa too is surpised by the talking wolf.
Sunbeam float closer to Vespa. "Well have you seen a talking wolf before?",
"Well no..", Vespa responds. "That not the point..", she doesn't doesn't get to finish and this large shadow thing starts rumbling towads Vespa!
"I think that the thing we were looking for.", she take her axe and get into a combat stance. She mutters to herself. "I really hope I don't die.."
Zafira takes offence at that, is not dog, he is a mighty guardian beast wolf! He gives the pirate girl a glare, "I am a wolf, pirate girl. A Guardian Beast even. I am far superior then a simple dog." He would go on, but then he flicks an ear and notices the shadow as well, standing back up on his feet he lets out a low growl, "I take it, this is what you where interested in no?" Well, he doesn't have as much a battle stance, as he simple bears his teeth and sinks his metal claws into the roof of the small shack he's on.
As for Tide? Her eyes grow wider and wider as the wolf keeps talking. Is she-- is she shivering? And at the growl? That is her breaking point! "TALKING WOLF!" She screeches, and suddenly jumps in place, throwing her arms skyward! "This is the /coolest/! Davy-chan!" Eyes sparkling, Tide Captain points to Zafira, one hand on her hip. "I want it! Hey wolf, be my friend!"
Vespa sighs at Tide. "I think we got bigger things to worry about!", she charges foward at the shadow creature swinging her axe in a downward motion at it and spitting it in half! The shadow lets out a scream.
"That wasn't so hard..", Vespa says. She huhs at it just reforms and from it body and punches in the chest sending her flying back as she tumbles along the peir.
Zafira watches Axe girl, slice and dice then get punted like a ball, shaking his head. Well, he doesn't know what it is, but yeah that's not gonna work. Now the hard part for him, it's not any of his business really, so should he help, should he watch. Expending energy and magic for no gain on his part, a tough decision for sure. So, for the moment he'll sit here and watch, see how this girl handles herself, perhaps she'll be fine, perhaps not, perhaps he may even get something from it...
He looks over at the pirate girl, "I am not a thing to possess girl. If you wish to be of use, then help the girl out, your squaking meal box as well. Things such as friendship can wait till there is no mortal immediate danger, or threaten if lives.
Tide Captain looks...a bit confused for a moment, then jumps when the shadow actually manages to knock the girl with the giant axe away. "How'd that thing survive?! Davy-chan, what is that?" She asks, though she's already reaching to the hilt at her side, pulling out a golden cutlass and running to get between the shadow and the downed axe girl. She points the cutlass towards the dark creature, "Hey, what're you attacking for?" The parrot, meanwhile, squawks once more and flies towards the downed girl, flapping around her to see if she's okay.
Vespa gets up she has a few scratches and a bit winde.Sunbeam flies around her neverously. "I'm fine, Sunbeam. Keep back okay? You too parrot.", she looks at Tide Captain. "I don't think going to listen to you!", she shadow creature form a mouth and roars, at Tide! Again a shadow fist forms trying to punch the pirate!
Zafira doesn't know why, but feels some kind of odd affinity with the pirate girl. Little does he know who the pirate girl is or perhaps he'd understand why this small tiny nagging feeling is there for. But, nonetheless, he hops off the roof and lands on the pier his boots tinking as they hit the wood, "I would advise against such actions shadow creature. Whilst I have no ill intentions towards you, I would appreciate if you did not harm these two." Knowing very well the beast won't listen, but one can always hope. Besides, how's he supposed to do something if another monster is taking all the fun away.
Tide Captain's alter ego isn't chased after by sports teams for nothing! Jumping sideways at the punch, she slashes her golden sword downward to split fist from the rest of the body, then tries to slash again at the first. "How do we stop it from coming back together?!" She asks as she slashes, jumping back to avoid more punches. Davy-chan the parrot, meanwhile, sticks close to the fairy Sunbeam-- most likely /behind/ Sunbeam.
The fist falls of and gets pulled back into the main body. "I really don't know!", she slashes at the main body cutting it, again where Vespa slahes it remforms. She takes a few steps back trying avoiding another fist. The monster is paying no attnetion to Zafira. "I'll just keep hitting it. Something got to give.."
Zafira growls, ooh yeah that wasn't cool. No one ignores Zafira when he speaks. He lunges at the shadow, sinking his teeth into it... which really doesn't work all that well, being kind of a shadowy creature. He more or less falls down tearing a chunk of shadowy flesh with it, and spits it out. He looks over at the Axe girl, "What is this beast! What have you unleashed upon this city." Taking a few steps back, to try and quickly as possible come up with a strategy.
Just keeping hitting it? Tide Captain Junko likes this idea! Grinning, she runs towards the shadow again, "I like this plan!" She says, and jumping up, holds her cutlass in both hands as she brings it down on the creature. "Axe-chan, see if you can keep the pieces apart!" She calls out, trying to shove her sword sideways to put some distance to any shadow parts.
"Hey don't blame me! I didn't unleash this thing! I'm just cleaning up someone else mess! It's compliated! ", Vespa nods to Tide. "Right! " she brings her axe down on the shadow creatue off to one side spitting off a chunk, it quickly dissapates. "Right. We will just cut it up like a cake!"
Zafira just shakes his head... Who lets these girls lose and then doesn't even instruct them, it's like some kind of insanity. Though, the suddent thought of ice-cream and cake fills his mind as axe girl mentions cake. mmmm, ice-cream, hey he almost had some with that Junko girl the other day. Strange hyper girl, but she was fun, and so was that other one, though if not a bit odd. shaking his head from the distraction of cake and ice-cream, he pounces on the creature, sliding down leting his claws slice through the beast, hoping that'll give a small distraction for the girls to do something.
"Ha!" Junko says, slicing at her half again. But the shadow blob jiggles, dodging and throwing itself towards the other two. "Oh no you don't!" Lifting the cutlass vertically, she slashes downward, calling out, "Weigh Anchor!" As the cutlass goes down, it glows faintly, as does a tiny glowing anchor that falls down directly onto the little shadow creature, pinning it to the ground with a thud. "Axe-chan, what was your name again?" Tide Captain asks, running to the flattened creature to slash at it some more.
Vespa. Total Noob. But she a noob that can kick monster butt. "Just call me The Axe Knight!", she brings her Axe back and the blade start to glow with a green hue. "Take this FINAL SLICER!", and she rushes past the shadow beast cutting it leaving a green glowing slice behind her.. The shadow beast lets out a yell a disspates..
Zafira falls on his back as the monster starts going all wiggly and vanishy on him. He lays tehre, staring upside down at the girls, yeah not the least bit undignified or anything. But a soft groan comes out, maybe he was getting too old for this, but then again he did have his reasons and that made it all worth the pain and humiliation that he was certainly endouring.
Tide Captain rests the back of her cutlass on her shoulder, grinning as she watches Axe Knight take care of the beast. "Not bad! You should've tried that first." She says-- and then notices Zafira lying down. Sheathing her cutlass, she crouches down near the wolf. "Hey, Wolfie! Are you okay." She asks, looking down and reaching to poke Zafira's side. "Do you need food? Oh, Daaaaaaavychan~" Tide Captain calls out in a sing-song voice. The parrot? Stays hiding behind Sunbeam.
"It take a while to charge up.", Vespa says. Sunbeam flies closer to Vespa proably with a parrot staying close to the fairy. "I think someone likes you Sunbeam?" Sunbeam laughs a bit neverouly. "Y-you think so??"
She looks over at Zafira. "Is the wolf or whatever he is okay?
Vepsa hmms looking aorund where the creature was. "Ah here the source of the problem.", she picks up a cystal shard nearly a big as index finger, if you were to take a closer look a it you could see red like liquid swirling in it.
Sunbeam. "Oh so we found one." Vespa nods in agreement. "We did. One down and many more to go.."
Zafira turns his head to look at the poker, then rolls over and gets on his feet, "Yes I am fine. But that creature, clearly a danger. So who are you Axe Knight, and what are these things that are clearly following you?" Giving her an eyeing, and the strange shard that she picked up. Hmmmm, clearly it's what he needs, but it still might be of interest.
Tide Captain rises as Zafira does, looking relieved that the canine is okay, and while Sunbeam, Vespa, and Zafira talk, she looks between the three. And then while Zafira is focused on the shard Vespa is collecting, the Captain gives a large, excited grin-- and throws herself at Zafira's neck, burying her face into the fur. "So soft!" She squeals. And pats the wolf with one hand. "Where's my camera? Let's take a picture together, Wolf-kun!" ...monster attacks, and she's more concerned with selfies and hugs.
"well I'm not sure they are following me. I'm more like hunting them.. ", she holds up the shard. "This is part of a prison.. I..", she shakes her head. "Some people long ago sealed a tyrant in it. It got shattered. The pieces as far as I know ended up in this city.. I have to find them all.", she sighs a bit. "I don't know how many peices there or where they are. I guess they have some instict that they know I'm there enemy?? This is all so new to me..", shes sounding a bit frustrated a this point.
Zafira was listening to Axe girl, when suddenly ufff! He's wrapped in magical girl arms, and lets out a soft groan. Of all the things, he gets this at home from some people, and now this, from random pirate girls. He turns his head to look at pirate girl, "Do you always grab random others and hug to them? That seems like it could rather dangerous." Then looks back at Axe girl, "A prison hmm? That could be dangerous yes." He doesn't feel anything from that shard, but then he isn't the most attuned at the moment, but he doubts he can get it from her. Clearly, there is more to this then currently is being spoken about.
"Eh? But you aren't doing anything dangerous." the Captain says with a grin, pulling out her phone and taking the appropriate selfie, fingers in the V for victory and everything. But then she glances towards Vespa and straightens, adjusting the pirate hat on her head, "Sounds like you got a bad deal, Axe-chan." She gives a rueful grin, "Picking up after somebody else's mistake, that sounds re-al-ly familiar." She sing-songs, even as Davy flies to her shoulder and begins to preen himself. "Just remember, don't get frustrated! It's only new for now, the best cure for that is just more time. You won't be new at it after a while, neh?" She says, winking at the girl with such -optimism.-
Vespa smiles and nods at the pirate. "Thanks ..I didn't get your name.. Miss pirate. It a long road but the first step is the hardest right?" Sunbeam takes out a small leather looking bag. "Put it in here for safekeeping.", Vespa nods and drop the shard in the small bag. She nods to Zafira. "That why I have to find them all before other people find them."
Zafira groans somewhat at the selfie. Well, least no one will see it, since she most likely isn't gonna go showing it around to everyone, or least he hopes not. Trying to explain why he's in a selfie on the national news, might not be so easy back home. He nods at Axe girl, "Good, I would not think they would be good in the hands of.... those that might missuse them for nafarious purposes."
It probably won't be shown around, especially not while Junko's got on that rather piratical hat. But at the question about her name, she smirks, standing proud with both hands on her hips, feet shoulder-length apart, before she points at herself with her thumb, "I'm Tide Captain of the Endless Skies, but you can, of course, just call me Tide-sama." She says, grinning. "Anyway, those shards don't feel anything like what I'm looking for, so I don't think we'll have any trouble with one another, Axe-chan."
"okay Tide-sama.", she pauses Sama? "Oh your looking for stuff as well?", Vespa wonder who else is out there looking for stuff.. "I really should head home it was nice meeting you both. Thanks for the help too!"
Zafira nods, "there is... quite a lot out there, various forces at work. Becareful, and remember. Because someone is nice, does not mean they are nice. Even an ally can be an enemy, choose carefully Axe girl." Never where truer words spoken eh. As he himself, is no ally, but neither an enemy. But, they are safe, so for the moment, he feels justified in his little endevour here.
"Ne, Wolf-kun has a point, Axe-chan. If you'd been after the same things as me, I would've to-tal-ly grabbed it from you by now." Tide Captain says with a little laugh and a smile. "It's what I do, after all." That smile is...downright impish, and she seems absolutely serious. "Thankfully, we don't have to worry about that! Just as long as you stay out of the way of me and my crew, we'll get along Axe-chan. And you too, Wolf-kun!" She reaches to try and pet Zafira again-- with both hands, looking oh-so-cheerful at the thought.
Vespa smiles and nods. "Got it.", she wonders that does that made Tide-same a bad person hard to say. She hope they don't have to fight in the future at some point. She waves to the two. "Bye now!", and she jumps up leaping onto a roof and start to jump across rooftops dissaparing into the night.
