It's been a while since Alexis visited Norie's manor, truth be told. He made a brief visit after the mess with the Prince Of Nightmares, but since his own vampirism was fixed he has not really wandered through the premises all that much.

But now, he's here once more. Slipping through the edges of the premises, sneaky as he can be, with the hood of a hoodie sweater flipped up over his head.

If someone were to see him, he'd definitely look suspicious. The downsides of trying to keep your face hidden.

And this leads the tall german boy deep into the manor, on the search for his adopted sister. Hood flipped back away from his face again after coming inside. Norie wasn't in the parlor, so he moved on along to search through the rest of the place. He's... pretty sure she's usually around here at this hour. He's been wrong before, but might as well make sure, right?

...And this, in turn, leads him to opening a certain door that he probably shouldn't be opening. To a room reserved for someone else.
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 04:58:15 89130
The room in question doesn't seem to be all that unusual at first glance. Large bed off in a corner. A dresser, some end tables and a door that presumably leads off into a walk in closet. Sure the armoir is covered in odd knicknacks, random every day objects set up in display as if they were some kind of trophies, and next to the bed, a rather sizable terrarium, looking large enough to comfortably hold a large, active lizard of some kind. The bottom half of which is filled with murky looking water, and the whole thing serves to raise the humitity of the room.

Before the intruder can back out, something shoves him iside and slams the door, while will-o-wisps pop into existence bathing the room in an eerie green light.

"WHO DARES DESTURB MY SLUMBER?!?" booms a throaty, menacing voice.
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 05:07:19 89132
It does look unusual in a certain way, to Alexis' eye.

Namely in that the room looks lived in. But he was at least somewhat certain that he was aware of most of the people that take residence in the mansion besides Norie. So who, then...?

THe naswer becomes a bit too painfully clear with the sudden application of force bringing him further inside with a surprised little sound whizzing up from his throat while he skids along the floor only to be nearly blinded by the bright light.

And nearly deafened by the sudden loudspeaker.

Kriegsfauste's first instinct would be to internally inform Alex that he should activate him RIGHT NOW, but thankfully ALex himself isn't quite as hurried in that.

"...Someone who took the wrong turn, evidently," declares the boy in sheepish answer, with a hand held up in an effort to shade his over-illuminated eyes. "...Sorry?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 05:32:21 89135
From behind the lights walks in a tall woman, who is as much dragon as human. Scales line her angular, yet beautiful face, framed by dark green hair. Folded on her back are a pair of reptilian wings and a matching tail lashes in annoyance behind her. She's dressed elegantly casual, like the kind of evil sorceress you'd find in a cheesy 80s Conan movie, in a skin tight green dress. Red slitted eyes glare a Alexis as she all but stalks towards the boy.

"One does not simply take a wrong turn into a dragons lair, boy," growls Lamya, voice still booming. "Tell me your name, so I can inform your next of kin of your transgressions."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 05:46:38 89138
Alexis' hand draws away some, once the woman makes her presence clear. There's still lights behind her, so his eyes do remain a bit squinted in an effort to lessen the amount of light flowing into his vision, mind you, but still. Slowly, his green eyes sweep over the figure, taking them in with a measure of concern visible in his frown.

And then she says all that. "...Well. Most dragons don't make their lairs in someone else's mansion," he promptly points out, with a tone that is, strangely, not all that worried in spite of the obvious threat given.

"Though you are always welcome to inform the mistress of the mansion that you attempted to eat her big brother, if you do feel so inclined."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 05:49:35 89139
Hybrid Lamya draws close to boy, red eyes sizing him up as he speaks. At the mention of her host her eyes snap up to meet his. "Alexis?"
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 05:52:45 89140
Despite the Dragon-Woman's continued approach towards him, the large young man doesn't move an inch-- sturdy and still like a fortress. He even establishes eye contact with her without any hesitation once her red gaze moves to meet his green. "She mentioned me, then," he murmurs. "She did not mention to me that she had a pretty dragon as her roommate, though."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 05:58:50 89141
Hybrid Lamya lets out a heavy sigh, all the malice and danger draining from her. With a snap of her fingers, the room reverts to more normal lighting, and the dragon reverts to a more familiar form, that of a middle school girl.

"Well, she should've." she gripes, turning away from Alexis and hopping up onto her bed. "Then I wouldn't have been woken up in the middle of the night."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 06:14:22 89142
The transformation seems to take ALex a bit off guard, considering the widening of his eyes (or maybe that's just because the light is more bearable now), and for several seconds he just stares after the... middle schooler turning towards the bed.

"I... suppose so, yes," he murmurs, with a slow blink of his eyes. "I'm... sorry. I did not think anyone was using this room, and I wanted to be sure on if Norie was even on the premises."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 06:21:58 89143
"She is not," Lamya informs the boy, pulling her feet up underneath her. "And if she was she'd probably be resting in her rooms." She looks up at Alexis pointedly. "In the basement. And who sneaks into a manor unannounced for a social visit?"
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 06:36:23 89144
"I do," Alex declares bluntly, with a thumb jerked up to point at his face. IN case that wasn't evidently clear. "Norie has always let me move in and out as I please. Besides-- in my current circumstances, it doesn't really do well for me to come in here with a loud neon banner announcing my presence or anything like that either. Gets... attention no one really wants."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 06:42:58 89145
An eyebrow lifts into her hairline. "Circumstances?" Lamya inquires. "Also. What is neon? A kind of musical instrument?"
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 06:46:01 89146
"Er..." Alex lets out initially at the second question, and he uncertainly scratches at his own temple with one finger. "... It's like a really bright, colored light. I'm not sure how to explain it better than that." And apparently, he is rather purposefully skipping over the FIRST question.
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 06:49:39 89147
"Then how is it loud?" Lamya muses to herself. "Anyway. You were saying under what circumstances paying a normal visit during normal visiting hours would be a 'loud neon banner'" she sais, doing the fingerquotes. "I did that right," she asks, wiggling her fingerquotes, "yes?"
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 06:53:06 89148
"The implication was that there was some manner of noise accompanying it," Alex offers to the following question, with a roll of a shoulder. "Like... I don't know. An attentand declaring..." Suddenly, he assumes a much stiffer stance and takes on the most ridicilously posh-british accent he can manage. "PRESENTING MASTER RASKOPH! ... Or something equally silly like that."

The further insistence from the dragon-girl brings Alex's brows furrowing down... though his expression loosens again for the request of confirmation on the finger-quotes. "...Yes," he answers, in amusement. "You did, in fact. And... well..." And back to a more akward tone. "...THere's. A certain organization that may be on the lookout for me. ANd intending to capture me."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 07:01:28 89149
Lamya's head tilts at Alexis' explanation. "You have been here before, yes? Was that ever a problem in the past? The.. person you are imitating." She thinks a little bit more, "And I would think that this would be a safe place from that organization you are talking about. After all, not only is this the ome of Lacrima, who is formidable in her own right, but to an ancient and powerful dragon as well."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 07:09:28 89150
"That was just an example," Alex points out with an amused little sound. "And these people I'm talking about... they're not exactly pushovers. They're folk that have... a wide measure of power and influence at their side. I would much rather not find out how them raiding this place would turn out."

He tilts his head slightly off to the side then, while he considers the girl on the bed. "... I have to ask. Why... this form? I would assume you can choose any other form for yourself."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 07:21:56 89151
"Woe to anybody who should raid my place of residence," Lamya informs her guest with a wide grin showing teeth that are, perhaps, a bit more sharp than normal. "Should they survive the experience, they would think twice about tresspassing again."

His question causes her pause, though. Why indeed? "When I first awoke to this era," she begins, speaking at a measured, thoughtful pace, "I was unaware of all it's dangers. There was so much that was so foreign to me that I needed a way to learn about it." She guesters to herself, "Thus this. A child old enough to be on her own without being questioned, yet young enough where ignorance can be excused. I've even started school." She looks somewhat proud at this last accomplishment.
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 07:28:09 89152
"...So it's a method to blend in without being harrassed unduly," Alex murmurs in echo of all that, with his head shifting into a slow nod. He seems to understnad, more or less. "I never did quite imagine what it is like for a dragon to be sitting at a school desk, though. ... How... has that been going?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 07:31:11 89153
"Instructional." says Lamya, scootching to one side of the bed. "Would you like to sit?"
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 07:33:44 89154
"...Sure," Alex murmurs, though he seems a little hesitant at first for whatever reason. Upon taking the first few steps closer, however, he adds in, "As long as you won't eat me."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 07:39:01 89155
"You have nothing to worry about," assures Lamya. "I am not allowed to eat humans anymore."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 07:41:42 89156
"... I see," Alex lets out at that, right before he lowers himself down to sitting besides Lamya-- not exactly far away from her, despite the initial voicing of concerns. "I would probably give you indigestion anyhow."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 07:43:54 89157
"Men usually do," agrees the dragon. She shakes her head. "Believe me. Nobody eats humans out of pleasure. Only out of necessity."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 07:54:45 89158
"... I know I said it first, but somehow that leaves me feeling a bit bad about it anyhow," Alex confesses with a slow shake of his head before his eyes sweep down to the dragon again. Such as she is in this form anyhow. "You know, of all the things I've ran into - and that includes vampires and werewolves - you are the first dragon I have actually met."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 08:03:25 89159
Lamya nods sagely, "We were rare enough in my time as it was, back when the world was filled with magic. I have heard of a few dragons in neighboring lands, but they are quite unlike me and my kin." She shakes her head. "One would think that it would fill me with sadness to think I may be the last of my particular species, but we were solitary types," she chuckles, "and rarely got along with each other when we did meet." She sighs, and leans back on her arms, "Besides. I don't think the drgons of old would survive in today's day."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 08:07:57 89160
"...Yes, somehow I imagine modern people would try... interesting things with you," murmurs Alex, with a slight sideward tilt of his head while his eyes consider the girl besides him. "And you ended up... all the way here, somehow? You don't really strike me as originating from Japan, in the first place, nevermind being NOrie's roomie."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 08:17:38 89161
"Yes," echoes the dragon. "It is unusual isn't it?" Lamya shakes her head, "I don't understand it myself, to be honest. The enchantment I was placed under had saved my life, but caused me to sleep these past two thousand years, so I consider myself lucky to be alive." She idly fingers the plain black collor that encircles her neck, "I do not think I could go back even should I want to, my life had become something of a, what to they call them, fairy tale."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 08:24:46 89162
"...Fairy tale," Alex repeats, with his brows jumping up far enough upwards it might momentarily seem as if though they are going to jump off of his forehead entirely. "Is this... a tale that was passed down through the ages? Am I in the company of a celebrity?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 08:29:05 89163
Lamya's smile is demure when she admits, "Yes, I believe so. Have you heard of St. George and the Dragon? I'm the dragon part of it, and, well, now that I've heard the tale, they've got it entirely wrong."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 08:35:51 89164
"The name of St George is familiar, but otherwise no," Alex confesses, his expression obviously curious now. "Are you... from France, then?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 08:48:45 89165
Lamya shakes her head. "No, as I understand it, it was in a place that's now called 'Libya' though my research shows that back then it was a very different place." She purses her lips together into a moue of thoughtfulness. "I had considered going to the place to search for my Princess, but I do not think she is there. I am sure she is in this country. Somewhere."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 08:51:06 89166
"... So you are an african dragon," states Alex bluntly with a slooooow blink of his eyes. Just what kind of things are going through his head right then, exactly? Maybe it's best they are left unsaid. Her last words, though? Those make the german boy wince visibly. "Um. If this was centuries ago..."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 08:53:33 89167
"Millenia," corrects the Dragon. "It was over two thousand years ago that I was nearly slain and put to sleep."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 08:58:39 89168
"...Right." Alex winces again. "I mean..." He starts, but then cuts himself off, frowning visibly. ... No, he doesn't quite have the heart to say what is on his mind. "...Nevermind. I... hope you'll find her."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 09:05:39 89169
Lamya's eyes narrow. "Yes. I know that my specific Princess is long gone." She sighs, her hand unconsciously going to her collar, "But her descendents are not. And in them, she has been reborn, somewhere in this strange land."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 09:09:53 89170
"...Oh," Alexis lets out in a breath, and suddenly he looks... pretty embarrassed, since he probably came across as coddling. He tries to move on from that, though. "...Why here specifically?" He asks then. "Do you have some way of sensing them?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 09:22:41 89171
Lamya's fingers idly worry at the collar. "I don't know," she admits. "I suspect I wouldn't have strayed too far away from her. There is a kind of bond between us. Something in the healing magic that she did. I... I don't know the specifics. I was all but dead, but I know that she had sacrificed something to save my life."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 09:37:49 89172
"I'm not going to pretend I fully understand that sort of thing," Alex offers upfront, with a quiet sigh and a hand moving up over to... pat the dragon-girl's head. This may be incredibly ill-adviced. "But I think I understand well enough to assume from there that if you think that's the case, then-- at least eventually, it will be so. What will you do, when you do find her?" 'When', he says. Not 'if'.
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 09:42:45 89173
Lamya looks.... more confused than annoyed by the pat on the head. "I.. um..." she stumbles, her thoughts shattered by the token of affection (and more, the realization that it's something she wouldn't mind him doing again. Not at all.) "Not sure of the specifics. Win her confidence so that she can remove the enchantment that binds my powers and my will."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 09:48:05 89174
The reaction from Lamya doesn't seem to be lost on Alexis, since... his hand ends up not only returning to the top of the dragon's head, but also lingering there, lightly patting and brushing about the top of her head.and along her hair. "And after that?" He asks in followup, in the meantime. "I imagine you might want to stay more or less hidden from the rest of the world even after that. For many of the same reasons you said earlier about dragons in the modern world."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 09:57:51 89175
Lamya gets a slightly silly grin from the patting. "I'm not sure what after that," she admits. "It's clear that I can't return to life the way it once was. I'm ... I'm not sure I want to even if the optionw as available. As confusing as much of this new world is to me, there is equally much I enjoy." She sighs contentedly and subconciously leans into Alexis. "Dragons spend most of their time living apart from the world," she explains. "And since my reawakening, I haven't had that luxury, and now the thought of it seems .... lonely." She scowls, "And dragons don't get lonely. As much as the world changed since I slept I wonder how much I, too, have been changed with it."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 10:06:13 89176
Alex is left temporarily surprised when he realizes the weight of Lamya is now slightly imposed upon his side, but... that doesn't halt the idle petting of the girl's head, and eventually he shifts just slightly so that she has a better perch there against him. "Things chance," he murmurs quietly. "People change. It's only logical that you would end up changing too, right? And I mean... You've made friends, right? After you came here. So you've gotten used to that. And that's... okay."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 10:12:00 89177
"But I'm not people," Lamya murmurs in protest. "I'm a dragon."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 10:13:56 89178
"Who says dragons aren't people too?" Alexis counters without any hesitation. "If I've learned anything since I discovered magic, is that in the end magical creatures aren't all that different from humans. Besides the obvious differences anyhow, but that's just semantics."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 10:18:01 89179
Lamya is silent for a long time, and when it's unclear as to whether or not she's managed to fall asleep on Alexis, she speaks, "I suppose that's true. Like I said: Dragons lived apart from people. We always thought of ourselves as above them. Better than them, but I've met plenty of people who aren't human in the strictest of sense and who I regard as my equal."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 10:24:30 89180
"So do you find it better this way now?" Alex asks bluntly, after having spent the entirety of that silent moment idly petting the girl. Because apparently his occupation right now is to be a comfortable leaning post and petting machine.
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 10:32:58 89181
Lamya's fingers find themselves at her collar again when she starts thinking about Alex's question. "Do I find it better this way now?" she asks herself, trying to work out the answer out loud. "I guess in many ways. There are many people whose company I enjoy," she admits. "And the people of this era enjoy life to a much greater degree than they ever did in my time, and the miracles that science have created is truly wondrous." She seems to finally notice what her fingers are doing and forces herself to stop, drawing her knees up to her chest. "And like I said, when I think of what life was like it seems lonely. And sad. And that confuses me because that is how a human would see it."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 10:38:08 89182
"Who says just humans get to feel that way?" Alex asks in an obvious effort to provoke some further thought from the dragon-girl. "It's alright to feel that way. It's okay to be sad. It's okay to feel lonely. ANd it's okay to want to not be either of those things. And it's okay to have things that make you not sad and not lonely."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 10:45:48 89183
Lamya sits up to look directly at Alex, interrupting the head pats. "Dragons don't get lonely. That's in our nature. We do not play well with others. We are forces of nature, things to be feared and hated and we take pride in that." A hand flails in frustration, which her voice echoes with a sharp edge. "We don't get sad because we live life as we please, and if anything our pride is our greatest downfall. We end up dying before we end up getting sad about anything. We don't feel lonely because we're universally annoyed by the presence of others, and until I met that thrice damned Princess," she says, tears beginning to well up in her eyes, "I was just like every other dragon and I was happy."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 11:01:46 89184
For a good while, Alex just stares down at Lamya. Listening to those frustrated words. Watcying the tears streaming down her face. And then... Then he does something that should be considered not only inadvicable, but outright suicidal.

He brings one arm squeesing gently around the girl and brings her closer.

He hugs a dragon.

But there's no concern in him. No fear. For right then, as far as he is concerned, she is merely someone crying lut her frustrations at the world.
"It's okay," the boy murmurs in a whisper to her. "I know it's weire and confusing from how you are used to. But it's gonna be okay. You will find out your answer, too. And if nothing else... You don't have to be anything but what you make yourself to be. What your heart says is right."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 11:28:22 89185
To offer comfort through hugging is a very human thing to do; a guesture written into their genetics from their primate anscestors. A guesture that other primates share, but one that most other mammals, and all reptiles do not. To be hugged, if you're one of these other species, is to be confined, to be trapped. To these species it's less a guesture of comfort and more a wrestling move.

And yet, Lamya is comforted.

The only other time she had been held like this is when she lay dying, and the Princess of that far off kingdom so long ago held her gigantic dragon head in her lap, soothing the beast by touch and song as blood poured out of the gaping wounds in it's chest, heart pierced and broken.

The memory washes over Lamya like a tidal wave, and she clings to the boy to bear the brunt of it. "It's not fair," she cries. "I am a beast. A monster. And I was happy that way. She was a creature of goodness and of light so pure I could not bring myself to destroy." Now that the dam of emotions have finally burst she can't help but confess them to the boy who she only just met.

"I was slain. That's how we die. I was content with that, with my only regret was that I would not be able to see her again." She buries her face in Alexis' jacket, tears and snot flowing from her like rivers. "But she sacrificed herself to save my life. Why? WHY would she do that?"
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 11:58:25 89186
Alex seems content enough to let her vent for a good moment. But it's only when she allows herself to press against him and opens those floodgates when he squeezes both his arms a bit tighter around her, and truly embraces her in an effort to provide comfort.

And then, that question. "It's not my place to presume her reasons," he murmurs in that same calm, warm-voiced whisper. "Maybe she saw something more. Maybe she thought you deserved a chance. Maybe she had some reason unknown to all of us. No one can say but her. But at the very least, I suspect..."

He guides one hand upwards, slowly, to bring it brushing along the top of her head. "She cared. That's what it feels like to be cared for. That's... what it feels like to care. And this is what it feels like to be lonely. ... It will pass. I promise."

Another slow, petting brush of his hand along her hair. "But it's... alright to feel that way. Ultimately, the gift she gave you was of choice. To choose what you make of yourself, in this age. And none of that... is anything to be ashamed by."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 12:13:35 89188
Lamya looks up at Alexis. "That's just it," she says, red eyes redder from the crying. "She didn't." She angrily reaches up and tugs on the plain black collar, one that upon closer inspection has to clasp or any other means of removing. "She left me with this. 'Be a good dragon,' she told me when she bound me and my power with it. And I had to. I have no choice. I have to be good. It will not let me be otherwise."

She tugs harder at the collar in anger and frustration. "When you came in, it was all a bluff. I couldn't have devoured you, much less kill you had I wanted to. It would have stopped me. It would have choked me had I resisted it." She pulls back to look at Alexis. "How is that caring?"
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 12:22:44 89189
His eyes sweep down, then, to that collar. And the dark brows shading his green eyes burrow downwards slightly.

"...I see," he murmurs, a voice bit rougher upon those two words then.

But his arms... they still do not withdraw from her.

"I can't say I approve of... mind control. Even one of such nature. Still..." He sighs out, then, and turns his hand along her head towards her front, to brush aside a rogue strand of hair from her forehead. "It could well be that there is some truth to that thought, still. She could have let you die, for one. And..." His eyes slowly turn down to find her own. "You said it yourself. You could not bring yourself to destroy her."

"Do you miss her?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 12:53:10 89190
"I....." begins Lamya, ready to deny it. "I do. I don't know what it was about her. She..." she shakes her head, wiping away the moistness that's collected in her eyelashes. "She fascinated me. The townsfolk long stopped sending me sheep and cattle, and were sending me people in tribute instead." She shakes her head. "I suspect they could've kept sending livestock, goodness knows I would have preferred it, but sending your rival or enemy off to be devoured by a dragon is a good way to dispose of people you didn't want, I guess."

She sniffles, and runs the back of her hand along her nose, "She was the only one who wasn't afraid of me. I don't know why they decided to send her, maybe she had a brother who wanted to be king, but she was the only one to stand before me, willingly. I saw her, proud and defiant, and... I think I felt a bit of kinship in that."

"Normally I wouldn't have cared who they brought me. Most of the time men are so singularly unspectacular that the mere act of eating them was nearly a chore. But she was unlike anybody else I had met, human or otherwise, and I felt... I felt that to destroy such a thing would be a greater loss to the world." She shakes her head, not understanding it muc herself.

"So I took her. That's what dragons do. We take what we want, and in that moment I wanted her. I don't know why. We got back to my lair and she was ... amused. And she asked me," she sniffles, closing her eyes to remember the words, "'What now, great Dragon of the Lake?' And the thing was... I had no idea what now. What do you do with a human? They're not like a pet you can just keep."

"She was a friend," murmurs Alexis after all that, now letting his arms loosen up along the dragon-girl. Presenting her, at the very least, with the choice of staying there or pulling away from him.

"And what happened, then? What did you do?"

Lamya pulls away and answers, "Well, I told her that I wasn't hungry at the moment, but don't make yourself at home since she'd likely be eaten in the morn." She shrugs. "But she made herself at home anyway. The next day she asked me if I was going to eat her now, and I told her that I was out that afternoon, and had stumbled on a tasty looking boar, and just couldn't help myself, so she was safe for one more day, for I was likely to eat her in the morn."

The dragon takes a deep breath and smiles wanly, "I never did get around to eating her."

Alexis had guessed as much. But he doesn't say that out loud. Not really the time for snarky commentary.

"I suppose you two got along well enough then," he murmurs, now letting his arms draw fully back, what with her pulling away from him in turn. "Considering everything else."

"All the way up until you were almost sailed, and you're here-- in the year 2018. Roomed up with a vampire." And being provided comfort by a german techno-mage.

Lamya sits back, and sniffles, watching as her fingers twiddle together. "Yes, I suppose we did," she admits. "As much as any human and dragon ever could." She scowls at her fingers. "I'm sorry," she says. "I don't know how we got to this conversation and it is unfair of me to unburden my greif onto a person I had just met."

Lamya blinks at a sudden realization. "I apologized. So that's what it feels like."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 13:43:33 89195
"You've never apologized to anyone before this moment?" Alex asks with a surprised with a brief, rapid blinking of his eyes. ...Well. To be fair... there's really no need to apologize to me."

His hand reaches over again, then, to give a pat to her head again. "If you're roomed up with my Imouto, then that means you're her friend. So it's only right I treat you well too. And... well..." His lips twitch into a small, rueful smile. "It seemed like you needed that, really."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 13:47:20 89196
"I have," explains the dragon, "because it was the polite thing to do, not the right thing." She yawns hugely. "For some reason that had exhausted me. How do you humans deal with all these complex emotions and not just sleep all day?"
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 13:50:39 89197
"...Honestly, sometimes we do exactly that," Alex confesses with a sheepishly amused smile. "But... well. With some effort and some support from friends. And it's okay to ask for some too--" He gives another pat to her head, and even ruffles her hair lightly. "I know you have at least two of those."

He blinks then. "...It occurs to me, though... that you never actually told me your name."

"Lamya," the dragoness says, introducing herself. "Formerly the Great Wyrm of the lake Selene, but I have since learned that there never was such a lake, so the title is no longer fitting."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 14:00:14 89199
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lamya the Dragon," offers Alexis, with one last pat-ruffle given to her head before the hand is drawn away, and held down in apparent offer for a shake.

Though after his eyes draw along her in consideration, he does note quickly, "You should probably sleep. I did interrupt you doing... just that. And it looks like that took a lot out of you too. ... Sorry about that, again."
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 14:04:33 89200
Lamya 's hand reaches out to shake, but instead keeps going up until it comes down to bonk Alexis on the head. "Idiot. Knock next time you visit." She turns and schootches hersef off the bed and opens the door to let her visitor out. "Thank you for listening," she says. "There's a bit of that light that I saw in the Princess in you."
Alexis Raskoph 2018-03-01 14:12:19 89201
"Wah!" Alex yelps out at the bonk to the head-- more in surprise than any actual pain, mind you. He does pout a bit afterwards. "...Yeah, alright," he murmurs, at hte very least, and then lifts himself up from the bed to follow after her.

The... words of gratitude nad the compliment alike draw a wry look from the young man, though. "I wouldn't know about that," he says. "I doubt I'm anyhwere near as good as her. But... it's really no trouble, though. Norie has my number if you want to talk to me for whatever reason though, okay?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-03-01 14:24:28 89202
Lamya gives Alexis a gentle smile. "Nowhere near," she agrees. "But still there." She pauses after her guest crosses the threshold to nod but say, "I do not own a phone. Goodnight, Alexis." And with that, she closes the door. From the other side, the boy can hear the dragon let out a huge yawn, a *click* of the lights being shut of and a gentle splash of the terrarium as she goes to bed.
