The Twilit hours leave the harbor district awash in hues of orange and red. WIth the area housing a many a commercial project and the theme park, there's still plenty foot traffic. It's a common place for high schoolers to hang out, afterall.

But as it happens, the deeper portions of the district, beyond the tourist traps and food stalls and what have you, amid the warehouses and shadowy alleys, something darker usually lurks. Mundane criminal activity, and occasionally the supernatural threat stalking about. This makes it a common place, too, for those identifying as magical 'heroes' to come through upon their patrol.

And this, thus, includes one (1) Stahlritter, perched up on the corner of one of the buildings closer to the boardwalk area, watching over the ongoings several stories below from behind the cover of his face-concealing helmet, behind the golden glow of the t-shaped visor. Black, sleeveless longcoat whipping about in the wind around him as if though he was some Batman wannabe.

Of course, that appearance does not strike confidence into the positive intent of the person behind the helmet. Faces obscured by helmets and black clothes can mean edgelord, but it can just as easily mean Bad News. Kazeko is patrolling for something very specific when she notices the figure from the top of a nearby building, and the winds pick up as she flies from one building to the one Stahlritter is on, floating just out of close combat reach. "Who are you and what's your prey?"
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 16:41:01 92134
The instant Kazeko turns her vector of movement towards him, the Knight's helmet snaps sidelong to set the visor directly on her. He doesn't move further than that until she gets to the vicinity of the building proper, and presents that question. With it, he slowly, smoothly, rises up from the crouch, the coat around him smoothing out enough to reveal the ornate, golden-highlighted armor beneath. It's a strange mix with the seemingly edgelord quality of the coat and helmet.

"I am Stahlritter," a deep, rumbling voice booms out unnaturally from beneath the helmet, as if though carried by some magical or mechanical modulation. "And my Prey is those who would prey on the ones below. And you, then--" An armored boot shifts and scuffs along the rooftop, to turn him more directly to facing the floating Witch.

"Are you like Them, or are you like me?"
Sora Hisakata 2018-06-20 16:51:08 92135
"Neither. What I hunt is like Them, but I hunt them for my own reasons, and I do not hunt all of Them," Kazeko answers Stahlritter, landing next to him, it's fairly noticable she flies not through a flight spell but by carrying herself on the winds she creates, and thus as she lands they die down somewhat. "I am the Cute Witch Kazeko."
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 17:12:52 92136
"I see," that booming, rumbling voice of the Knight responds. Though his face - and thus his expression - is unreadable past the helmet, it's obvious enough that the stare that the visor is giving her is a studious one. ANalyzing and filing things up for later.

"I suppose you do not wish to tell me who the ones you hunt are," Stahlritter murmurs then, with his helmet now turning to send a look down towards the streets, beyond the edge of the roof. "I will not impose on you by insisting on it. It is obvious enough we are not enemies."
Sora Hisakata 2018-06-20 17:16:53 92137
"Creatures of shadow that prey upon the weak." Kazeko answers Stahlritters implied question regardless, and she sits down crosslegged. "There once were many, but I've been hunting them for long. The ones that remain are either clever enough to avoid being seen or both sturdy enough to survive my initial attacks and fast enough to escape me."
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 17:27:38 92138
"Mmmm." It's a thoughtful little sound that rumbles from within the armored man, and he keeps his visor focused down on the street beneath a moment longer before turning it to lay upon Kazeko again.

"I have seen creatures of the shadows, but I know not if they were ones you speak of. There are... many things that plague this city. Both sentient and not." Idly, the steel-covered fingers of his left gauntlet turn to curl into a loose fist, just for a few seconds before opening again. "Do you need help?"
Sora Hisakata 2018-06-20 17:37:23 92139
"Of shadow, not of the shadows." Kazeko clarified before frowning deeply at the second question, turning to stare at Stahlritter with clear anger. The response is a terse and frustrated, "No." She looks away from Stahlritter afterwards, staring down at the people beneath them.
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 17:51:37 92140
That reaction causes the helmet to slowly tilt sidewards, curiously. "I see," he lets out. "That is fine." He turns to crouch besides the edge of the rooftop once again, heavy-gauntlet bearing hands draping over his knees. Apparently he is not intent on pressing that particular issue, either.

"You spend a lot of time hunting your prey?" Kazeko asks, leaning back and looking up at the sky. She's not looking back at Stahlritter, not even glancing his way. "Do you work with others? I know a couple people you might get along with."
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 18:48:17 92142
"Most of the time," Stahlritter answers to the first question, without any hesitation. His right hand comes up, slowly, eyeing over the top of it breifly-- as if though he might have been studying some wrist-set computer panel or whatever. Not that Kriegsfauste actually comes equipped with a visible one, but perhaps there's something there only he can see? Who knows.

"I do, occasionally," he answers for the second question, then. "I could ask the same of you, though. You seemed averse to the idea of me working with you. Unless, perhaps, your quest is a more personal one?"
Sora Hisakata 2018-06-20 19:00:05 92143
"It is." Kazeko answers the last quite clearly, with no hesitation but with a clear terseness. Inqueries into that aspect of her are clearly not appreciated, "I've worked with people on both sides of the so-called moral spectrum, and I don't anticipate picking a proper 'side' any time soon. I protect my friends, I stay out of anything that isn't my business."
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 19:16:54 92144
"I understand," Stahlritter allows, with a look sent back over to her, now. "There are some things everyone must do for themselves."

He lowers his hand down again, then, and slowly rises up to standing once more. "'Sides' are transcendent," his booming voice suggests. "An enemy of yesterday may be a friend of tomorrow, and vice versa. Everyone has their own agendas-- the best we can do is strive to do what is right in any given moment. So... I will not judge you, based on that."

"Do you know Mamoru Chiba?" Kazeko asks with clear pondering in her voice, she seems to be thinking about offering something but uncertain how to best go about it. Thus, the tangent. She doesn't elaborate on it, however.
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 19:30:21 92146
Stahlritter doesn't respond to that immediately, rather tilting his helmet-covered head slightly off to one side. "I do," he does offer out, eventually. "I know people connected to him better, however, but... I suspect you may be leading up to that, too, aren't you?"
Sora Hisakata 2018-06-20 19:31:52 92147
"He knows how to contact me. If you need some help and little questions asked, get him to pass on a message." Kazeko responds before that, going on to, "I know people connected to him better, too; but then it seems that his business is knowing people who know people, so that everybody is at most two degrees of separation from him."
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 19:46:06 92148
"Do you know Kazuo Takeba?" the Knight asks of her then, head slowly tilting off to the opposite side then. "I primarily deal with him in his circle of contacts. Either way, he has certainly gone out of his way to establish a... network. I am not complaining. It is a convenient thing."
Sora Hisakata 2018-06-20 19:49:18 92149
"Reasonably well. He should also know how to contact me." Kazeko answers and then considers continuing, "Other people who know how to contact me include a certain Lacrima and Riventon, both friends of mine." The witch turns towards Stahlritter there, trying to gauge a response to those names, especially the last.
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 19:56:12 92150
"That should be acceptable then," is all Stahlritter says on the matter of Kazuo, with a nod of his helmeted head.

Both those names definitely draw a reaction, in the form of his helmet-covered head twitching to meet her. It's hard to say much beyond that thanks to the helmet, unfortunately, but there's definitely something for both names. "... I am closely associated with Lacrima," is all he says, however. It is probably telling on it's own that he isn't saying anything of Riventon despite the obvious reaction to the name.
Sora Hisakata 2018-06-20 20:00:05 92151
There's a pause before Kazeko adds, "Lacrima is a very close friend of mine. If you are good friends with her, I'm sure we'll get along." The Witch noticed the intentional avoidance of mentioning Riventon and builds on that by adding, "I met her when both of us were proteges of Riventon."
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 20:11:34 92152
"I see," is all Stahlritter says on that particular addition. Still nothing on Riventon, though. The visor is turned sidelong, to look away from Kazeko and off to the distance, and perhaps as an attempt to redirect the conversation, he admits, "Lacrima saved my life."
Sora Hisakata 2018-06-20 20:34:21 92153
"She saved mine, too." Kazeko responds to that solemnly. "Well, on that cheerful note. I have to get back to chasing my prey. The trail is cold but perhaps I can find some more clues." She stands back up and the winds begin to pick up, but she's not gone yet.
Stahlritter 2018-06-20 20:48:24 92154
The returned confession from Kazeko draws Stahlritter's visor-covered gaze back towards her. There's a strange, solemn bit of understanding there, with that. And when she's picked up by the winds, once more, he nods his head and offers, simply, "Good hunting."
