<TXT from Lacrima:> Kunzite, hello. Do you have a moment to chat about something important? It is about Unmei-chan.
<TXT from Kazuo:> I have as many moments as you need. Would you prefer this in text or in person?
<TXT from Lacrima:> Well, seeing as how I am just a room away at the moment, I suppose I could just walk out and meet you if you are here at your home.
<TXT from Kazuo:> That seems like a reasonable possibility.

Lacrima had been texting Kunzite from... well the darkness of her coffin. Kunzite may or may not had seen her drag it in. (Ariel helped with this. She was happy to.). It is ornate, lacquered in a deep purple- and in the shape one sterotypically thinks of when one thinks of a coffin-- a slight angle up then back down. Flat top. Flat bottom from the top. The inside has a lighter coloring of plush comfortable padding. The top is inset with a purple gem at the middle of some sort serpents crest that resembles a coat of arms. Kunzite may have seen this on the door of the manor before.

Wait, why is her coffin here? Well Mamoru said she could stay a week while she Saint George proofs her home, or... well finds a new one. Also, he wants to lay a trap for Ryo- daring him to come here. She feels unease about this but she feels safer just existing here for the moment than she did anywhere else for the past three or so weeks.

When Kunzite says it's possible to chat in person, the lid opens and she sits up. Looking around, a little uneased at not seeing her basement room before stepping upwards, the coffin closing behind her.

She steps out into the main living area people tend to usually congregate around here and looks around. No one else here. That is good.

She'll wait patiently for Kunzite.

Kazuo, somewhat amusingly, has farther to go than Lacrima does; his room is in one of the side apartments. Still, it's not as if it takes him long to arrive. If he argued over Lacrima's visit with Mamoru at all, it doesn't show; the kitchen has been stocked with an even more egregious amount of ready-to-eat food than usual, along with ingredients for just about everything he's aware of her ever having cooked --

(This is the kitchen Makoto uses. The boys are perennially nervous that if it's not kept pristine and to her preference, she might stop. Adding things that Lacrima might want to cook with says something.)

-- and Kazuo's bow to Lacrima in greeting is just as it always is. "I saw her a couple of days ago," he says. "Has something happened since then?"
Lacrima 2018-08-20 23:41:26 95153
Lacrima bows back and sighs, as she places her hands in front of her, clasping them together. "This is between you. And me." she says. "I believe that, Unmei will tell you, in her own course, about the events that happened. I would prefer that. She had asked me /not/ to tell you. But I understand that you look after her." she says quietly.

She takes a breath. "About a few days ago, Unmei came to my manor. This was odd, she is usually frightened by me. Mind you..." she says. "....for no good reason. I had never attacked or drained her. I had never threatened her in the past. I am just. Pale and spooky." she says grimly.

"She apologized, for being afraid of me. She said that she felt bad for being afraid of me, after seeing me cry on Ariel at the end of... the whole mess recently." she doesn't specify. She knows some people are trying to put that behind them.

"Regardless. She wished to be friends. I never harbored a grudge against her. As I said. We've never fought. or had bad blood to begin with. She was just afraid of 'the vampire'." she says.

"-and she asked me a favor." she says.

"She said that she wanted to know. If I had a way to get to her Italy." she says, taking a short breath. There is more. But she's taking time to process this herself.

Kazuo shifts stance a little, so that either he or Lacrima can see every entrance to the room; no-one will walk in on this conversation without one of them knowing.

"Unmei has trouble seeing beyond surfaces," he says, during that brief interlude. "It is something that she is beginning to grow out of; I am pleased that it sounds as if she is doing so in your case."

But there's more; there's clearly more. And from the way that he's paying close attention, it's not impossible that something happened during the visit he mentioned, too.

Lacrima sighs. "I asked her why. She said that, she wanted to confront her parents." she says. "She told me that they hated her. How she had run away. That she hoped they had changed." she says. "I... agreed. Considering my own familial issues at the moment. I cannot help my own. But. I decided that maybe I could help hers." she says.

"One of the higher ups, on the totem pole in Eclipse, owed me a favor, for containing what could had been an outbreak of some weird dark energy mass that seemed to make 'zombies'. I dispatched it and returned it to the Dusk Zone, and he in turn, he did not have to write 'I am incompetent, please give me a pink slip' on his progress report." she says. "But that isn't relevant fully. What's relevant is I pulled the favor to obtain a helicopter on short notice. Eclipse helicopters use a sort of weird magic. It made the trip basically ten minutes, from here to Italy." Like taking an aerial train car to downtown." she says.

"We arrived. I hid in her shadow." she says. "She was afraid that they might get violent. Or try to keep her there if things went poorly. I did not anticipate needing to hurt them. I did not. But I will get to that."

"It went poorly." she says as if this is some sort of shocking twist. "They still insisted she was their son and they we're going to take her away to fix her. Called her a freak."

"When her dad approached, she judo flipped her dad. Like on reflex. It was self defense. He was going to grab her." she says.

"Then her mom got in front of the door. I remember Unmei remarking that 'which parents make their child use self defense on them!?' or something." she says.

"Anyways. When her mom blocked the door and her father got back up, and emerged from the shadow in full dramatics and started being spooky-- threating them to either move, or I would make them move and be left writhing on the ground. They apparently froze in fear and did exactly as I said, remarking 'WHAT IS THAT THING!?'." she almost smiles at this. Almost.

She takes a deep breath. "She's really heartbroken. She has friends..." she says. "...but what she really wants is family." she says quietly.

"I... emphasize. With that. A lot." she says quietly. "I am lucky to have chosen new family, that has chosen me back. Or, am happy to merely consider someone kin in the back of my back of my head, even if it isn't reciprocated." she says quietly.

She sighs. "I don't know how to help this problem." she says quietly. "I can be her friend. But. Well, she finally actually started talking to me that day. To call someone sister out of pity. That would be a crime." she says. "Wrong." she says.

"What she really wants," Kunzite says quietly, "is somewhere to belong; yes. We can support her. We can give her tools to make a place for herself. But we cannot give her a place to belong, not in the long term; we are not the kind of people who thrive in combination with the kind of person she is. We saw that when she lived here; she tried to make a place for herself here, but -- she has only ever known her family. And while she is different from them in the most important ways, she has certain things in common with them: she cannot always really comprehend that not everyone sees the world in the same way she does, and when she cannot comprehend it, she attempts to inflict her version of the world on them. When she does that to me or to Mamoru, it is not nearly as damaging as her family's treatment of her; but it is damaging still. We could be a haven for her for a while; but only for a while."

He bows his head for a moment. "And I worry that she may want this so badly because she is so averse to recognizing that she, in and of herself, might have worth. I worry that she may want a family because she cannot imagine herself except in relationship to other people. And I do not know how to help any of these problems."

Lacrima sighs and nods. "I haven't known her long enough to observe that. As I said. She'd run away or keep away from me, when I've tried contact in the past, or we encounter each other. She ran out of the Korma the other day without paying when I showed up. Because I showed up." she says. "I took care of her bill. I felt bad." she says quietly.

She raises a hand. "I... don't need compensation for that. For the record. Mamoru took care of my dress repairs. But that was a different situation where it required I accept it, lest I feel jilted." she says with a deep breath. "Because I am deeply positive you would be very upset with me if I tried to hurt Sailor Venus in any sort of major way." she says.

"Regardless. I believed it important enough to ignore her request to not tell you, given the seriousness of... confronting one's bigoted family members." she says. She nods.

She finally pauses. "...It is nice for you all to let me stay here the week. I actually slept last night. I mean. Not sleep so much as meditate in one place in a torpor but..." she says. "..I wasn't coming up from it every half hour, to open the coffin and look around." she says with a sigh.

"I'm trying to not be a bother or in the way. I... erm..." she says. "I have a...."

"Norie Day.. once a week. Where I just... be Norie Okana? I know that sounds dumb. Because I am Norie. But. It's different between this body, and that one. Usually that is not a problem, in my own home. It may be a problem if someone new comes and sees the girl that's been missing for a year on the news here, and makes a wrong assumption." she says.

"Am I still okay for that? Or would you... rather I not or... confine myself to the room for such a thing?" she asks almost sheepishly.
Kazuo Takeba 2018-08-21 01:03:33 95164
"I continue to be glad that you decided not to try to hurt Sailor Venus in any sort of major way," Kazuo agrees. "Given that there would have been reason for disturbance whether or not you succeeded."

(Crescent Beams hurt when you're dark energy.)

"And I am grateful that you told me; I will hold it secret to the degree that I can." Lacrima already knows he won't lie to Mamoru. But telling Mamoru to keep it secret, if Mamoru has to know at all, is still a possibility. "It is a sign of how much she's recovered that she was capable of confronting them. I wish she'd told us; perhaps she will choose to, in time. But if she chooses not to, that is another sign in itself."

And then there's a topic change, and Kazuo inclines his head to Lacrima. "I'm pleased to hear you were able to rest a little better." He's taking steps to avoid the coffin getting investigated by a curious fox. "As for your being Norie -- one of us should check with Mamoru, I think. We did manage the private investigator my father had looking for me. But my father didn't particularly care whether she found me or not. Your family would be a different matter. Still. Even if Mamoru's concerned. There is more than enough space here for you not to be confined to your room for the duration."
Lacrima 2018-08-21 01:22:09 95167
Lacrima nods. "Okay." she says softly. "It just..." she says. "It's centering." she says quietly. "Since I can't be Norie in public anymore. Since I can't go home while Ryo is an issue and most certainly not NOW..." she says.

She shifts. "People want Ryo to die." she says. "All he's done is try to outright kill everyone he's met. Not... fight to a stand still. Not beat down. Kill." she says, as she idly rubs where Ryo had cut her- the place Mamoru managed to heal.

"What if. People do..." she says. "What am I going to tell my parents?" she asks. "I can't tell them... 'Oh Ryo turned out to be a huge asshole reincarnation of a major religious myth figure, he tried to kill everyone he met so he got killed for it and also by the by I'm a horrible vampire'." she says flatly.

"They will think I am insane and frazzled from being somewhere for a year missing." she says with an eyeroll and a long sigh.
Kazuo Takeba 2018-08-21 01:25:27 95168
"If he's trying to kill people on a regular basis," Kazuo says quietly, "your parents will already be worrying about his not being home. And worrying about his having fallen in with a bad crowd." He exhales, quiet, and looks down at his hands. "I will hope for your sake and for theirs that he comes to his senses. But if he does not ... you may need to tell your parents less than you think."
Lacrima 2018-08-21 01:52:16 95173
Lacrima frowns. "What crowd? It's just himself. Besides. He stayed out of the house as much as possible when I was actually around as this thing and he didn't know. Or quite comprehend it at least yet." she says softly.

"...I know I'm going to need to hurt him. He met Ariel. I know what he's going to try to do to her. Like everyone else so far." she says with a sigh.

"Alexis-niisan." she has, never, used the 'nii-san' with Ryo in recent discussion. "Is probably going to beat him up at the least." she says. "-and Riventon already made his intentions clear on reliving him of his dumb magic sword." she says with a deep breath. "He is awfully upset about him hurting me. Both of them are."
Kazuo Takeba 2018-08-21 01:56:20 95174
"I presume the 'crowd' part. That may be projection. My father decided that clearly I'd fallen in with one, as a teenager, when most of my time out of his home was spent solitary; I presume it's an inclination shared by most parents. They're afraid of what other people will convince their children of, not of whether the children will convince themselves."

Kazuo glances up again at last, and absently pushes his hair back out of his face. "That may be the only time those two ever agree on anything," he says. "But ... it may be for the best if they find him. If he hurts Ariel, you likely won't have a chance to talk people out of corrective murder."
Lacrima 2018-08-21 02:06:02 95176
Lacrima sighs a bit. "I know." she says. "I'm going to go back to lay down. I'm exhausted." she says softly. "You know the room if you need me." she says softly.
