Tarnished finds The Dragon Lamya up on the rooftops of Tokyo. They're all nice and polite to each other, and they learn something alarming about the nature of Lamya's collar.

One of the hardest things that Lamya has found, lately, is maintaining a shrinking spell when one is stuck in the form of a dragon the size of an elephant. She spent all day with Unmei watching anime (as you do) and managed to excuse herself before her current one wore off. Now she's one the rooftop on one of the taller buildings in the area, scribbling magical formulae on the concrete, and muttering things about how claws aren't appropriate writing utensils.

Tarnished says, "No. No they are not," a voice said from behind her. Tarnished was standing behind the dragon and just... staring. She was certain she'd miss seen. That it had been a trick of the light. But, you know what? Frankly she was enjoying the night air and thought she'd look. Namely because, well...

As an empath, she spent a LOT of time on roofs and other areas that were pains in the butt to reach. After working all day, she had needed a break. Which was why she was up here. And staring at a dragon.

"You're a dragon. You're a dragon. You are a dragon. You are a dragon and in front of me. Dragons are real. And you are one. And you are a dragon," she said, staring in awe.

She was so smooth. So good. She knew exactly what you were doing.

"You are a dragon," she added for clarification. "... Hi.""

*Skritch* *Skritch* *Skritch* goes a claw against the concrete. Lamya lets out a heavy sigh, as she rues not having any pockets with witch to bring components that would help in this casting. Her form can get a little fuzzy at times, which is evidence of a simple glamor she placed on herself to keep herself from being noticed by the general populace. Magical girls, however, usually are able to easily see through this, so that may be why the voice behind her is trying to convince herself that there is, in fact, a dragon.

"Yes, I am a dragon," rumbles Lamya, her voice deep and powerful. "You are not seeing things. I would appreciate it if you didn't spread that about, as there is a Knight out for my blood." She scritches a few more symbols before she comes to a good stopping point and turns to greet the newcomer propery. "I am the Dragon Lamya. Hello."
Masu Yogoshi 2018-08-29 01:11:29 96348
Tarnished just kept staring. "Yes. You are a dragon. You--" Then trailed off as she realized she was in fact being rude. "Oh. A knight. That... is thematic. If inefficient." She walked forward and then held out a hand, wearing her glove of course. "I am Tarnished. A pleasure. In more ways than one."

She then just stared up at her. A little... awed. And it was a little obvious. "You are... not human. Are you comprised of dark energy? And why does this knight desire your blood, are you a danger to humanity?" she asked as she looked the dragon up and down.

"Would you allow me to scan you? Ah. Right. Allow me to properly introduce myself. I am Tarnished, I am a medical researcher. Would you allow me to scan you?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-08-29 01:26:30 96350
Lamya tilts her head curiously at Tarnished choice of words. "Ineffecient?" Clearly she hasn't met the knight in question. She looks down at the offered hand and, very very carefully takes it into her paw, which completely engulfs the hand, and does a very gentle shake to make sure that, you know, she doesn't accidentally rip the arm right out of the socket.

"I suppose I could be a danger to humanity," the dragon answers, "but I prefer peaceful coexistance. Not everybody who would see me would come to that conclusion upon first sight, thus the glamor. Usually I take a more human appearance though recent events have made that... ahem... difficult."

When Tarnished formally introduces herself Lamya turns a closer eye towards the woman. "An interesting choice of names," she comments. "And I'm curious to discover what you'd find, so, yes. You may scan me."
Masu Yogoshi 2018-08-29 01:32:15 96353
Tarnished nodded and then held out her left hand. "Rusty tome, scan mode." There was a light beep as it began to, slowly, scan her. The woman nodded.

"Not really. It's more of an inside joke than anything else," she said flatly. "It's really not worth worrying about. And having the potential to be a danger to humanity doesn't make you a threat. Humans are a danger to humanity and no one wants them extinct," she mumbled half heartedly. "And I would be a horrible scientist if I allowed a chance to meet such a breath taking creature go to waste. Would you relent to allowing me to take some samples? Blood, scales, possibly nails? Also, is the collar a fashion choice?" she mumbled softly. "Or are you some magical girl's pet?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-08-29 01:41:25 96355
Lamya nods at Tarnished explanation of her name and she nods. "So noted." She does, however looks rather amused at the sheer awe her presence has on the doctor. She has missed this, the more dragony part of her thinks, and recalls a time when people would send her sacrificial animals in her name. Tarnished's request for samples breaks her out of her reverie, though. "I'd rather you didn't," she replies. "In the wrong hands such samples can be used against me. You understand."
Masu Yogoshi 2018-08-29 01:45:42 96357
Tarnished nodded. "If I was the wrong hands I could just take them. But I do understand your concern and I hope in the future you will change your mind." She pulled her hand back and sighed. "... Well... unfortunately I can't tell too much about this at this point, aside from... You are definitely partially human. Mayyyyybe about.... forty seven point six percent?" Because that sounded more sciency than fifty percent.

"Additionally, whatever that... collar is? Is what's keeping you together. I imagine without it, you'd, in scientific terms, explosively deconstruct." She paused. "Violently explosively deconstruct."
Dragon Lamya 2018-08-29 01:56:34 96361
Dragon Lamya rumbles deep in her chest at the information about her humanity. "Yes. I... I had expected that." What she hadn't expected is that without the collar she'd... we'll explode. Her head rockets up in surprise. "What?!? That's .... it's worse than I thought." She scowls (a truly frightful thing to behold) and mutters, "I must contact Rashmi as soon as I get back home."
Masu Yogoshi 2018-08-29 01:58:18 96363
Tarnished nodded. "Indeed. it seems to be the main thing holding you together. If it was removed... I wouldn't want to think of the consequences," she mumbled softly. "Well, unless I was there. It would be an easy way to get samples. But then I think you classify as an endangered species, so it would be a shame to lose you. I wonder which the ethical decision in that situation would be, use your body for science and to save lives, or resusicate you so the species can live on. How old are you?"
Dragon Lamya 2018-08-29 02:01:08 96364
Dragon Lamya can't help but to sound a bit worried when she answers, "I'm about two thousand years old." She turns an eye to Tarnished, "Most of that time I was asleep."
Masu Yogoshi 2018-08-29 02:06:02 96366
Tarnished nodded. "I see. Two thousand years. Then yes, I suppose keeping you alive for the future of mankind would be the superior choice." She then paused. "I am not making you nervous, am I? I can stop scanning you, if you like."
Dragon Lamya 2018-08-29 02:07:51 96369
"Yes. I think I would prefer that." answers Lamya. "I have a friend who has a device much like yours. I had been planning to enlist her aid, but now it seems that I need it more urgently than I had thought." And considering what had been going on it was already pretty urgent.
Masu Yogoshi 2018-08-29 02:14:41 96372
Tarnished nodded. "Of course. I've likely gathered as much as I can, anyway," she said with a sigh. She then paused. "I can't remove that collar, safely. I don't know who your friend is... But..."

She trailed off. "I know a person who may be able to. They're... talented in things such as this. If anyone can remove it, they can. I do not know if they will assist but... they may. And you'd be more likely to survive than any other way. It would be a great loss if a creature such as yourself was to perish due to poor planning."
Dragon Lamya 2018-08-29 02:19:58 96375
"I agree," says Lamya. "I certainly do not want to perish." She chuckles, and turns back to the formulae she was working on. "Who is this person you know? Perhaps I've heard of them."
Masu Yogoshi 2018-08-29 02:24:14 96378
Tarnished stared at the formula and shook her head. "I'd rather not give their name. If you know them... That's good. But if you don't, it's not my place to give information about them away. It would be quite rude to not ask his permission.

She sighed and then smiled, before holding out a card. "Here. If... you ever require assistance. I am a medical professional. At the very least, you are partially human. I should be able to help with that. Or... at least, I have people who can."
Dragon Lamya 2018-08-29 02:26:47 96379
Lamya reaches out and accepts the card, taking it gingerly between two claws, and looking entirely unsure of what to do with it. "Thank you. I will keep you in mind if my own associate and I are unable to come up with a solution."
Masu Yogoshi 2018-08-29 03:03:21 96395
Tarnished blinked a few times and nodded. "Yes. I... if you are unable, come there. Show the card, the people there will get in contact with me. They won't touch you," she said firmly. "They work for me. Now." She then bowed her head. "I should... go. I want to be somewhere quiet. I appreciate meeting you." Before she tunred and would, well.... leap off the room.
