After dark in Tokyo is normally not a scary time- Tokyo is, after all, one of the safest cities in the world, with a violent crime rate that barely exists. The city stays alive and vibrant at all hours of the night, with plenty of traffic both on the roads and on the sidewalks even into the early hours of the morning. Of course, it's not that late right now- just a few hours after the autumn sunset, which is getting earlier every day. But the point is, one would not normally expect to run into a scene of violence in Tokyo, even in the dark.

Which is why it's all the more noteworthy that on this particular evening, the sounds of some form of fighting echo from a space between two of the large buildings in Mitakihara. Most people seem to wander right on by without even noticing, which is a bit odd, but might also have something to do with the strange magical distortions echoing from that same space, easily felt by anybody with the correct senses to do so.

It's not a Witch- just a pair of Familiars. Small game, but they could become a problem if left to their own devices. Apatite spins her spear almost lazily, not particularly threatened by what are, in her estimation, small-fry youma. They look like animated pavement, made from the street itself, one with a manhole cover for a head and the other with a mouth made from a sewer grate. "If I'm late for dinner cuz of you a-holes, I'm gonna be pissed." She warns them, with a scowl.

Then she launches herself forward, moving with preternatural speed, her spear whipping around to slice into one of the Familiars. She manages to lop off its concrete arm, but the things are faster than creatures made of stone should be, and scamper out of the way before she can finish either of them off. "Agh! Hold still, dammit!" She snarls, whirling, her cape fluttering out behind her, as she tries to prevent them from escaping the small area.

The foreigner was really cutting it close this time. Usually by this time she was already back at her apartment cooking dinner and lunch for tomorrow, but the lineup in the grocery store was unusually long tonight for whatever reason. Millie made her way down the streets of downtown Mitakihara, a bag of groceries held in one hand. Now that she had all the ingredients, all she had to do was get home and cook them. If she hurried, she might even be able to get to bed on time tonight. The exchange student sighed and took a deep breath, but suddenly froze.

What was that smell? She sniffed again, taking in the smell of... whatever that was. It was powerful, familiar, yet different all at the same time. The tall girl's heart clenched when she realized why it was familiar; this smell, this feeling, it reminded her of that night over a year ago, when she had first found the Mirror. Before she really knew what she was doing, Millie turned and ran, trying to follow the scent to the source. Was someone else in trouble? Had they been trapped in a mirror? Was there a monster? So many questions flashed through her mind as she ran, none of which she had answers for. The scent was getting stronger and stronger as she ran towards a particularly large alley between two buildings.

Millie burst through the mouth of the alleyway, somewhat out of breath as she looked around. It looked like a regular dark alleyway at night in a big city, except for a few things. Namely a pair of what appeared to be living cement blocks with grates as features, being accosted by a very red and a very angry woman in a military looking coat. Whatever she had been expecting, it hadn't been this. Millie blinked and couldn't help but freeze, staring at the odd scene before her. "...Huh."
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 15:56:58 99901
Kyouko has excellent peripheral awareness, a consequence of years of combat and training, and so when Millie bursts out of the alleyway nearby, her head whips to the side to catch a look at her. Not a threat, at least. Perhaps a civilian, though if she had purposefully run in here, as appeared to be the case, that was doubtful. Just at that time, the grate-faced monster which happened to be closest to where Millie had appeared, turned and made a dash straight for the newcomer, sensing perhaps an escape, easy prey, or both.

"Hey! Watch out, idiot!" Kyouko snaps at Millie, more out of startled frustration than anger at the girl. Quick as a whip, she turns and hurls her spear like a javelin, the tip bursting into red fire as it leaves her hand, slicing through the air at a speed that's hard to track. It impales the grate-face monster through the back just before it reaches Millie, going all the way through it and stabbing into the pavement, trapping the Familiar there. The thing isn't dead though, as it squirms and starts to try and free itself with the spear sticking through its concrete body.

The distraction was enough for the other Familiar, with the manhole-head, to take a pot-shot at Kyouko though, and as she hurls the spear, it swipes at her with claws made of rebar. Kyouko senses the attack coming as she throws the spear, and shifts to the side, but not far enough to avoid getting clipped, the hit strong enough to send her tumbling to the side in a heap. She's quickly getting back to her feet, shaking her head dizzily. "Damn, thing hits like a rock.." Perhaps not shockingly.
Millie White 2018-11-07 16:17:17 99902
For things made of concrete, their reaction time was impeccable. Millie was no stranger to combat and she saw the creature lunge before she heard the woman shout at her. The pale girl had a few seconds to think of a plan of action. If she moved, it was very possible that this thing could escape the alleyway and wreak havoc in a larger part of the city. If she didn't move, it was also very possible that she would be crushed to death when grate-face slammed into her. There wasn't enough time to use the Mirror, she had to make up her mind.

The tall girl squared her shoulders and took up a defensive stance, ready to meet the grate monster head on. If this was a mistake, at least she wouldn't be alive long enough to regret it. The foreigner grit her teeth and waited for the impact, but it never came. Suddenly, the shouting woman's spear flashed through the air like lightning, hitting grate-face through the back and pinning it to the pavement. Millie didn't even have time to thank the woman before the second creature had knocked the spearwoman to the floor.

"H-Hey!" She shouted, fear sparking in her gut. The spearwoman was already getting to her feet, but she couldn't just sit here and let the thing attack her! Millie reached into the bag of groceries and pulled out an apple, winding up and tossing it at the monster's head. If she could distract it even for a few moments, maybe that would provide an opening for the clearly more experienced woman to take it out. She would only use the Mirror if she absolutely had to, she thought nervously as her eyes flickered back to the pinned monster for only a moment.
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 16:23:03 99903
Kyouko shakes her head again, clearing the stars from her eyes, but it generally takes a lot more than that to seriously hurt her. As she does, she views the other girl hurling an apple at the monster. A courageous move, perhaps, but Kyouko snarls, "Hey! Don't waste food!" Even as the words are leaving her mouth though, she's moving forward again, towards the manhole-monster that had hit her.

Her spear is across the alleyway, pinning the still-struggling grate-face to the ground. She needs it to stay there for a few minutes, so she doesn't retrieve it. Instead, she puts all her time training with Sailor Jupiter to good use. As she advances on the Familiar, she raises her fists, and both of them suddenly flare with red light, similar to how the head of her spear had burst alight when thrown. She dashes forward, unleashing a lightning-quick series of strikes with her hands, the magical energy protecting them from the rock and adding some additional oomph, though she can hit plenty hard all on her own. Probably not hard enough to crack rock though, which is exactly what's happening as she pummels the roughly-human-size youma, chips and shards flying off of it as she hits it again and again, ending with an uppercut to its manhole-head which sends the sound of ringing iron through the alleyway and sends it sprawling back onto the ground.
Millie White 2018-11-07 16:46:29 99904
"I-I'm not!" Waste food? She would never dream of it! The apple thankfully didn't explode when it hit the manhole monster and instead fell to the floor and rolled; Millie would have to retrieve it when everything was said and done. Ordinarily the thought of throwing food shocked and appalled her, but given her predicament, there hadn't really been a better thing to throw. Either way, the apple was unharmed and she WOULD be eating it later.

The tall girl's eyes widened when she saw the spearwoman's hand start to glow. Oddly enough, the scent in the air changed slightly. It smelled... spicy and sizzling to her. Strike after strike hit the manhole monster, pavement cracking and chipping until the final strike hit its manhole face. The iron chime that echoed through the night reminded her of the bell at a boxing match, and she couldn't help the tiny smile that flashed across her face. The smile was short lived however when she saw movement from the corner of her eye.

The pinned grate-face had been putting in real effort to get free from the spear that had impaled it from behind. It was almost free, and they couldn't have that. Millie sprung forward and grabbed the spear, putting all her might into holding the monster there. Of course she wasn't transformed, the creature would be able to free itself once it recovered from the momentary surprise of the unexpected resistance. That was okay, she figured only a moment or two was needed before the spearwoman came to retrieve her spear... and Millie didn't reckon that Grate-face would fare well when that happened.
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 16:53:10 99905
Kyouko dusts her hands off, the glow fading from them, as the manhole-monster lays stunned on the ground. She glances over to see Millie struggling with her spear to hold grate-face to the ground. "Heads up, I need that." She calls, before suddenly the spear just.. vanishes from between Millie's hands. This may cause her to stumble, and also may cause grate-face to start getting up, which means she has to be quick.

Luckily, she is. As the spear vanishes from Millie's hands, it re-appears in Kyouko's. She spins it expertly, and with manhole-head dazed on the ground, nearly slices its head off with the blade. As soon as she does, the monster crumbles into dust, the manhole clattering onto the alley floor, as ordinary as can be.

Then, before grate-face can do more than raise itself a few inches off the ground, she's dashed across the width of the alleyway and stabbed her spear straight through the grate-bars of said face. Similarly, once so skewered, the monster simply disintegrates, leaving nothing but a small pile of rubble. At the same time, the strange, distorted-magic feeling that had permeated the alleyway fades away.

Kyouko yanks her spear back out of the now-ordinary metal grate laying on the ground, shouldering it as she eyes the girl. "That was a dumb thing to do." She says, her tone more lecturing than angry. "You coulda got yourself killed, and I don't need that on my conscience."
Millie White 2018-11-07 17:16:21 99906
The Canadian heard the spearwoman call her warning, but she wasn't expecting the spear to just disappear. She did indeed stumble, but she quickly recovered and leaped back. What happened next was so quick, if she blinked she might have missed it. The woman in the red coat spun the spear like a master and sliced through the stunned manhole monster like butter, its form crumbling before their eyes.

Without missing a beat the spearwoman turned and ran at Grate-face, stabbing it right through the grates before it crumbled away like its companion. All that was left was a manhole cover and a grate laying in the alleyway. Everything was quiet and still for a moment before the other girl shouldered her spear and spoke. Instead of arguing with the spearwoman, Millie let out a small good-natured sigh.

"You're right. I apologize." She said in slow Japanese, her voice low in tone with a hint of a rasp. She carefully moved to pick up the apple, inspecting it for damage before cleaning it off on her shirt. Millie politely held the fruit out to the warrior, her green gaze soft as she appraised her for only a moment."I was afraid someone was trapped in a mirror again." This was technically the truth, as the only kind of monster she had seen so far was that variety.

Millie suddenly remembered that the warrior had been hit, or at the very least clipped. Concern made its way into her eyes. "Are you alright? That thing hit you." She didn't sound overly concerned since the spearwoman was walking and talking fine, but Millie was one to always make sure.
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 17:22:34 99907
Kyouko hears the girl's slow (but perfectly understandable) accented Japanese, and raises a brow. "Foreigner, huh?" You'd think it would be obvious, but Kyouko knows enough blonde blue-eyed Japanese girls to throw doubt on any such easy characterization. When the apple is offered to her, she eyes it for only a moment before accepting it, baring her slightly-too-long canines as she takes a nice chunk out of the side, chewing with some relish as Millie speaks.

When Millie mentions being trapped in a mirror, Kyouko again quirks a brow, finishing her bite of apple before saying, "You a Cure then?" She knows a few, and remembers well enough that the type of monster they fight often involves people getting trapped in mirrors. "Why didn't you give me a hand then, ain't punching stuff pretty much what your kind does for a living?" No judgement in the question, despite the phrasing, more curiosity. She would have denied needing help if asked, anyway.

At the question of her health, she just shakes her head. "I'm fine. Takes more than a small-fry like that to bring me down, even if he takes a cheap shot while I'm distracted." She pauses a moment, and then her spear simply vanishes, as if it never existed at all. "I'm Apatite, by the way. Knight of the Earth Court. What's your name?"
Millie White 2018-11-07 17:46:48 99908
Millie offered a smile and a nod when the spearwoman asked if she was a foreigner. The voracity in which the other girl bit into the apple elicited a low chuckle from her. The language of food was an important one, one that Millie was lucky she was fluent in. Either way, now that the situation had calmed down some, Millie allowed her tense posture to ease ever so slightly.

At the mention of Cures, Millie's gaze sharpened and if she wasn't paying attention before, she certainly was now. There was that word again... Kurosawa-san had finally given her some of the answers she had been seeking on the subject, but there was still so much she didn't know. The spearwoman had asked if she was a Cure and, according to Kurosawa, that was technically what she was, yes. Millie scratched the back of her head a bit sheepishly. She waited for the woman, who she now knew to be Apatite, to be finished speaking and she couldn't help the flash of relief that overtook her expression when she said she was unharmed.

"I uh...technically, yes?" She answered in response to the question of whether she was a cure or not, trying to find how best to explain this. "Well I mean, I am. I think. I just didn't know they were called Cures. For over a year." Yeah, real smooth Millie, that probably made a whole bunch of sense. The teenager groaned and facepalmed; Apatite probably thought she was an idiot. Millie blinked when the spear vanished, but sighed and offered a hand for a handshake. "Pleasure to meet you, Apatite-san. I'm Millie White. I'm sorry for distracting you." She paused before adding, "It looked like you had everything under control."
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 18:04:53 99909
Kyouko finishes the apple off in a few more concentrated bites while Millie is explaining herself, swallowing the last and then, perhaps a bit disconcertingly, biting the core in half and eating that too. Nothing edible goes to waste. The fact that she doesn't seem to have any trouble chewing the tough core is another matter entirely. Then she shrugs and shakes the girl's hand when it is offered. "Just Apatite. Honorifics sound weird with it." She says, making a face.

Then she glances back at the alley, and shrugs again. "Newbie, huh? S'fine. I guess it's better for you to have those instincts than not, though quick tip, next time you come across any type of youma, you should henshin if you can. Trying to fight them out of henshin is a recipe for disaster. Trust me, I've done it a time or two."

She glances back at Millie, frowning slightly. "Look," She reaches into her pocket and digs around for a second, then pulls out a business card. It doesn't have her name on it or anything, but instead just an address, embossed in gold. She hands it to Millie. "If you need help, or advice, go there. That's where my boss lives. Endymion, Prince of the Earth. But he's really just a big dork, so call him Mamoru. Anyway, he kinda makes a habit out of helping newbies get on their feet, and the Court is an asylum for all magical sorts when they get into trouble. You can tell 'em Apatite sent you, if you need to, but they ain't the type to question when somebody needs a hand."
Millie White 2018-11-07 18:24:59 99910
The fact that Apatite ate the apple in its entirety should have been surprising, but for some reason Millie felt it was in character somehow based on what she'd seen from the girl. She nodded to show she understood not to use honourifics with her name and listened calmly as Apatite talked about Youma and Henshin. A hint of a frown appeared on her face. So that's what they were called, youma? Likely the henshin refereed to the change they underwent, and the way she said the word 'Newbie' kind of insinuated that this could be a lot bigger than she first anticipated. Slowly but surely Millie was learning the ropes of this crazy quest she had been dragged into.

When offered the card, she accepts it and nods her head in thanks before giving the card a once over. This Endymion sounded like he really knew his stuff, but was he really the Prince of Earth? Could the entire planet even HAVE a Prince? According to this apple-chomping warrior it can. She pocketed the card carefully so that she wouldn't lose it.

"Thanks for the advice, as well as the card." She paused before peeking down both ends of the alley to make sure they were alone. "I've only uh... henshined... once, and it was over a year ago. I'm glad to know this blasted Mirror actually led me to people who could give me answers." Indeed, the teen looked relieved.
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 18:38:13 99911
"That so?" Kyouko asks, sounding a bit skeptical. "Must have been living in a quiet part of the world then. Can't go a week around here without needing to stab some monster or another." Then, quite suddenly, a blinding red light enveloped her body, her military-style coat seeming to shatter into shards of light before vanishing entirely, leaving her in a much more mundane outfit which consists of a black, un-decorated t-shirt, plain jeans, and black sneakers, along with plenty of bracelets and wristbands on either wrist. Without the military trappings and cape, she seems a lot more like a punkish young woman than a Knight, although there's a definite toughness to her that remains, so maybe the 'warrior' description is still apt. With the de-henshin, any sense of magic from her also vanishes.

So reduced to a mortal human once again, Kyouko eyes the other girl. "You good to get where you need to go, or do you need directions or somethin'?" She asks, not wanting to just run off and leave the newbie on her own after such an encounter if she was somehow traumatized or needed further assistance.
Millie White 2018-11-07 18:53:18 99912
"Tokyo seems to be a hotbed of activity, yeah." She mused to herself, before taking a startled step backwards at the flash of red light. Apatite looked much more punk than she had a few moments ago and... did she smell different? Millie sniffed the air curiously. It was like the previous scent had entirely disappeared, only to be replaced by a mundane one. Millie shook her head gently as if to clear her thoughts. It wasn't long before Apatite was asking if she needed directions, and Millie looked up at her and smiled.

"Oh uh, I'm good, thanks." The foreigner actually had a good sense of direction and she knew her way home from here easily. "Thanks again for your help. You've helped me a lot more than you know." Millie rumbled happily, that lopsided grin returning to her face. "You technically saved my life, and I don't look at that lightly. I'll figure out a way to repay you, Apatite, I promise."
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 18:58:11 99913
Kyouko hesitates, realizing why introducing herself in henshin only to abruptly de-henshin was a dumb idea. She's so bad at secret identities- it's something you don't really think about when you're legally dead. "You can call me Kyouko when I'm.. not on official business." She says, since it would sound kind of strange if Millie were to call her Apatite out on the sidewalk. She shrugs. "Eh, your life wasn't really in danger. Those were weaklings. You don't need to worry about repaying. S'kinda my job and all, this sorta thing."

She starts walking out the alleyway towards the street hands going into the pockets of her jeans. "You sure you're good? You want a ride? My bike is parked right over there." She gestures to a black, white and red Yamaha motorcycle parked by the curb outside the alleyway. "I was on my way home from work.. y'know, mundane work, when I sensed those guys and took a detour, but I can give ya a life if you want."
Millie White 2018-11-07 19:13:10 99914
When Apatite, now Kyouko, mentioned the naming convention when she wasn't 'on official business', Millie looked thoughtful for a moment before nodding. It sounded like a secret identity thing, straight out of a comic book. She made a mental note to ask Kurosawa-san or even Endymion the protocol on secret identities and how much they mattered. She hadn't realized it, but she had quietly followed Kyouko out of the alleyway. The taller girl looked up when the redhead offered her a ride.

"Thanks, but I'll be alright." Millie said with a warm smile. "I've been enough dead weight tonight anyway, I reckon." she chuckled, eyeing the motorcycle with an approving gaze. After a small pause, Millie looked over at the redhead seriously. "You said it yourself, I could have gotten myself killed. I didn't though, because you were there. I will repay my debt to you, Kyouko. I swear it." Her tone was serious but simple, as if she had already decided. Despite the seriousness in her voice, she was smiling.
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 19:18:04 99915
Kyouko shakes her head, her short red hair twisting around her jawline. "Look, you probably wouldn't have even been there if I hadn't been fighting those Familiars. I'm telling you, there's no debt. Killin' those things, and things like 'em, is what I do. I woulda done it whether you were there or not. If you wanna repay me, just do it by learning how to use whatever power you got so that next time you can do it yourself. After all, the more people out there who can take care of 'em, the less hard I have to work." She grins, showing one fang, before walking over to the bike and pulling a red and black helmet off of the back, tucking it onto her head, though the face-shield is still open. "Well, I guess I'll be on my way then. Remember what I said about the Earth Court. We got an open door policy for anybody who isn't looking to cause trouble."
Naru Osaka 2018-11-07 19:32:12 99916
"Ha!" It's a sound of pleased exclimation from just around a corner and then an auburn haired young woman in a Seishou school uniform, a satchel over her shoulder arrives with it. Naru smiles as she spots Kyouko and her bike, chatting with someone else. "I /thought/ you might be here." What, exactly, gave her that clue, she doesn't bring up in front of someone wholly unfamiliar.

"Hi." Naru smiles warmly to Millie, glancing from her to Kyouko and then back to Millie. There's questions in her expression, she may well have caught the edge of their conversation, but she doesn't pry. She does, however, give Kyouko a gentle hipcheck, comfortable and confident at being in the other girl's personal space. "Is the other helmet still in the saddlebag. If I'm stuck on the bus, you get to start dinner."
Millie White 2018-11-07 19:50:30 99917
While Kyouko's points were valid and technically true, Millie smiled. If it had just been her job to kill monsters, she didn't have to shout the warnings she had, or lift a finger to protect her. Yet she had, and that was all Millie needed to know. Of course the plan had always been to learn to control her powers, so she couldn't repay a debt with something she was going to do anyway. No... she had a different idea. It was just a hunch, and it was only from one apple, but she figured she knew something she could do to show her appreciation. Her mouth opened to respond, but another voice broke through the silence as a girl walked out to meet Kyouko.

Millie's mouth clamped shut, unsure of how much the student had heard. She was wearing a Seishou uniform and she seemed familiar with Kyouko. "Hey there." She responded to the student's greeting with her own, offering an awkward wave with the hand not holding the grocery bags. It appeared like she was trying to get a ride home from Kyouko, and a slow smile eased onto the Canadian's face. She glanced back at Kyouko.

"I won't forget, and I'll tell them you sent me." Millie's gentle green gaze then returned to Kyouko's friend. It felt weird standing there not knowing who this was, so she cleared her throat awkwardly and offered a smile. "Are you a friend of Kyouko's?" She asked simply yet politely. "I'm Millie White, it's nice to meet you."
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 19:54:59 99918
Kyouko turns at the sound of a familiar exclamation, and although she's already wearing her helmet, her grin is obvious as Naru hurries up to join her. She returns the hip-check, lightly bumping Naru back, before nodding. "'Course it is, and we both know neither of us wants me cooking. 'Least unless we're having cup noodles." She snorts a little bit, then glances back at Millie.

"Oh, Millie, this is Naru. Naru, this is Millie, she's a Cure, apparently, and also a foreigner," (as if that wasn't obvious) and she stumbled upon me fighting some Familiars back there." She jerks her thumb over her shoulder towards the nearby alleyway. "I already gave her the ECFH card. Apparently she's new in town." A faint shrug. "Don't know much about Cures but I figure somebody will, if she needs the advice."
Naru Osaka 2018-11-07 20:00:00 99919
"We are totally not having cup noodles for supper." Naru declares emphatically. "If it wasn't quite so late, noodle soup might be an option, but I'm thinking dumplings, actually." Domesticity acomplished, Naru turns to Millie.

"A pleasure to meet you, Millie." Naru ahs softly as Kyouko fills in more details. "Welcome to Tokyo. I'm Naru Osaka, and yes.. a friend of Kyouko's." She wrinkles her noses at the mention of Familiars. "I'll take them over Wraiths anyday, and twice on Sundays." She gestures and reaches for the card. "Let me add my number to the back. The ECFH.. that's Earth Court Frat House.. and it's not /really/ a frat house, we just tease them.. crew are awesome.. but also in uni and stupid busy. I'm easier to find. Text me if you need a hand with something. Or have questions."
Millie White 2018-11-07 20:17:32 99920
The tenseness in Millie's shoulders immediately eased when Kyouko spilled the beans and told Naru everything. So she was in the loop? What a relief, she wasn't sure how much of the conversation she had heard. Now her smile was a bit more relaxed.

"I don't know what Familiars or Wraiths are, but I will take your word for it." She chuckled. The offer for an additional number had Millie reaching for the card in her pocket and handing it to Naru. The Canadian smiled warmly at the shorter girl.

"Thank you for the offer, Osaka-san, I appreciate it." Things were looking up, over all. On her quest for answers, she had already found three people willing to help, three people who were finally able to shed light on a year's worth of mysteries. Millie could feel her confidence rising slightly. Maybe she could do this after all? "I won't keep you two since it's late and you haven't eaten." Millie said after accepting the card back. The taller girl took a step back and offered a wave. "Thanks again for all your help. I can finally start figuring things out."
Kyouko Sakura 2018-11-07 20:21:06 99921
Kyouko watches Naru doing her Naru thing, and smiles fondly from behind her motorcycle helmet. But that accomplished, there is dinner to be had, and woe betide anyone who stands between Kyouko and dinner. She nods to Millie. "No problem. Like I said, don't hesitate to stop by or call or whatever if you need a hand."

She glances to Naru. "Ready?" Assuming an affirmative, she moves over and swings astride the bike with the ease of long familiarity, kicking up the kickstand and starting the engine with a twist of the key, the motor roaring to life as she pushes the shield of her helmet down and waits for Naru to mount up behind her.
Naru Osaka 2018-11-07 20:24:46 99922
"If you're at the figuring things out stage.. text me." Naru gestures at the card. "I've asked all the stupid questions, and I'm pretty sure I found new ones to text Kazuo when I ran out of the usual stupid questions. He's a saint not to have blocked my number." She grins brightly. "Take care Millie.. oh! What school are you at?" She asks as she moves over to dig out the other helmet. She settles it on her head, ensuring that her satchel is settled such that it wont be in the way. It's clear that Naru getting a ride from Kyouko is not an unusual thing, based on the comfort level in settling onto the bike behind Kyouko.
Millie White 2018-11-07 20:30:12 99923
Millie almost didn't hear her over the roar of the engine, but she caught the words and smiled. She raised her voice slightly so she could be heard over the roar, her naturally deeper voice carrying impressively.

"I go to Verone." She responded simply, stepping back once more. It was clear that Naru didn't go to the same school as her, but that was alright. That didn't mean they couldn't be friends, right?

Good thing she got that answer out at the last minute, because Kyouko clearly wasn't paying attention. Checking her blind spot, before Naru has a chance to reply further, she guns the engine and pulls out into traffic.. speeding up to what some might call 'reckless' speeds within a matter of moments before making a sharp right onto an intersecting street and vanishing amongst the traffic with Naru (hopefully) still clinging to her back.
