Mami and Mamo Text About Kyouko

Mami gets a text out of the clear blue sky from someone she hasn't heard from since the Witch hatched at her apartment, probably.

Mamoru Chiba.

Hard to say how he got her number, but that kid clearly knows everyone.

    Unknown Number TXT: Tomoe-san, this is Mamoru Chiba. We sort of met when
    I picked up Madoka-chan from your flat,
    then we dealt with that paint incident together with a few other
    people. I'm texting to ask if you've heard from Kyouko-chan.

Chan? Seems like he's made pretty good friends with her in the meantime.

Mami's phone is always quiet. It is Mami, after all, so when it buzzes to let her know she has a text message she upsets her homework and anything she was writing to grab it. The first sentence makes her gasp in quiet surprise, before she goes back to replying to him.

     TXT: I have not. I've been worried about her.
     Have been keeping an eye and a ear out,
both normally and... otherwise.

Mami frowns.

The phone buzzes again maybe thirty seconds later.

    Mamoru Chiba TXT: Well, she'd actually been doing pretty
     well after she cracked her ring. She got a job at a
     conbenie and an apartment and was paying rent and
     everything. But then someone -- probably not at fault
     in this; I've been checking -- came around and actually
     legit scared her, they knew she's friends with a normal
     girl and was threatening about that.

     Mamoru Chiba TXT: But she vanished a few days ago,
     her boss and landlord haven't seen her, no one's seen her.
     She sent me and her other friend a text but we didn't get
     it until the next day. All it said was 'im sorry. please don'
     like it got cut off mid-word. If you have ANY idea what
     other enemies she might have made, please, please...

It takes much longer for Mami to reply this time.

     Mami Tomoe TXT: Nothing that I'm aware of, unless it's related
     to that person that had kidnapped her awhile back.
     Then, of course, there's... our natural enemies...
     As Puella Magi, but I'm... nearly sure that I would've...
     Heard of something related to that by now.

    Mamoru Chiba TXT: I talked to the person who did that.
    Definitely wasn't them, and Homura also hasn't heard anything.
    If you could maybe ask Kyubey if he has,
    and let me know what it says, please tell me. I understand
    if you don't want to, that's okay. And I think I would have
    heard if something like that happened, too.
    Please just let me know the second you hear anything?

     Mami Tomoe TXT: I will talk to him and let you know.
     I... wouldn't quite trust anything Kyubey says,
     even if he is my very dearest friend.
     Keep me informed as well, please, Chiba-san.

Mamoru Chiba TXT: Grain of salt assumed in his case, yes.
    Homura wouldn't ask him at all, but that's not
    really a surprise, haha. Thank you so much. And
    believe me, I will. The minute I hear anything.

     Mami Tomoe TXT: I'm unsurprised to hear that about Homura.
     Now, as you've somehow gotten my number,
     please text me as well if you hear anything.

Mamoru Chiba TXT: Of course I will. Good night, Tomoe-san.

Mami stares at her phone.
