It's Tuesday at Mitakihara General Hospital and things are going fairly normal today. There are several people in various wards that arrived over the past few days under peculiar circumstances but so far today there hasn't been anything of the sort. On the other hand it is one of the days that Madoka Kaname has been scheduled to volunteer and she's making her rounds in her pastel pink volunteer scrubs, recognizable enough from the actual doctors and nurses by them, but also by the nametag she wears.
It's been what she would consider a light day at the hospital, with only a few difficult patients or issues. A lot of her time when, not changing sheets, or bringing people water, is simply spending time with people that don't have visitors in order to take their minds off their situation.
She exits one of the hospital rooms, making sure to Purell herself out, while giving a friendly wave goodbye, "Congratulations on your discharge tonight!" A quick peek at a clipboard at the Nurse's station tells her what room to head to next, and before Yuko knows it there's a light rapping on her door before it opens. "Hello, my name is Madoka Kaname and I'm a volunteer here at the Hospital." A friendly wave is added to the standard greeting upon noticing the age of the patient within, "I've brought some ice and cold water if you'd like."
"What do you mean you won't let me in to see Yuko-chan!?" says Haruna as she stomps her foot at the reception desk. Madoka can probably hear this fuss when she checks the nurses station. This is a semi-common occurance with people being unable to visit people. She gets the usual speil. She's not family and something is stopping her. She huffs and crosses her arms. "This is stupid!" she says as she storms away. Oh. Right. She has a bird on her shoulder, that whispers into Haruna's ear. "Hey...Haruna. Didn't we get that PreCard the other night?" he says. Haruna blinks and gives a side smile. She sneaks away to an alcove.
<'n-N-N Nurse! Time to change~>
The PreCard goes into the PreChanMirror and a bright little light- and out steps.... Nurse Haruna! Set to help people and most certainly not sneak into a hospital room.
She peeks at the same nurses station Madoka did- and then tiptoes to the room. She looks right. left. And suddenly whishks in. Everyone seems to ignore the bird on her shoulder.
She turns around and takes a cleansing breath!-- the Nurse Outfit poofs away into a small seafoam green flicker.
"Yuko-chan...!~" she sings out.
"Oh--uh. Oops!" she says wide eyed. That's a nurse!? Nooooo she'll kick her out!
Wait. Is that Madoka-chan!?
"Madoka-chan, you're a nurse here!?" she asks wide eyed. She looks back to Yuko.
Despite happening so long ago, the explosion that's put Yuko in the hospital has taken quite a bit out of the normally energet-... Energy-efficient store worker. She's been cooped up for only a few days, but it feels like it has been weeks since she had seen the outside world and all the wondrous shows she's missing.
So many shows! Alas, recovery is a harsh thing, and the only thing she's had to while away the time is sleep. Of course, it's hard to sleep with a constant dread gnawing away at her from the inside, but she's managed so far! SOrt of.
It's because of that constant boredom and strange feeling in the pit of her stomach that the green-haired girl perks up a bit when she hears an unfamiliar voice from the doorway, blinking a few times at Madoka's entrance before offering her a relieved smile.
"Ah? Hello, Kaname-san. That sounds great, actually... Thanks for coming." She's doing a decent job at keeping a relaxed appearance, at least, and she perks up just a little bit more at the sound of another familiar voice as Haruna steps inside. "Oh! Haruna-chan, hey~"
Yuko knows better than to question jsut how she got in, too. Company's always good to have, after all! "You two know each other, then?"
Madoka gets quite the surprise as a nurse scoots in right after her. A nurse with a suspiciously familiar silver bird on her shoulder. This, however, goes ignored for the moment. "Ah..! Um, err, I didn't realize... did I misread the chart? If it's time to take her vitals I can help, or-"
All this fluster and embarrassment turns to sudden surprise as with a burst of magic the nurse is gone and Haruna stands before her. Poor Yuko suddenly has a teenage volunteer who's supposed to be keeping her calm and providing a comfortable healing environment letting out a, "Kyahh!" of surprise. "H-haruna-chan? C-" She cuts herself off and fakes a soft cough.
She looks rather unsure what to do, right up until Yuko recognizes Haruna, everything seeming to fall into place. There's precedent for this actually, people using disguises to appear as nurses. She's supposed to go and report such intrusions right away!
"I guess it can't be helped," she says with a small nervous laugh. She walks further into the hospital room and sets down the small pitcher of water, getting a disposable cup from nearby before putting some of the ice chips into it and then pouring the water over them so it's nice and chilled before making to hand it to Yuko. Professional bedside service!
It's only once this little duty of hers is complete that she answers Haruna, "Not quite a Nurse, Haruna-chan. I volunteer here a couple of times a week. I don't do many things that are medical; my job is to make sure the patients are happy and comfortable." With this she gives a smile to both of the other girls. "Haruna-chan and I met a few days ago," she explains for Yuko's sake.
Corvus head tilts at Madoka and sly smiles~ "It's okay! Yuko-chan knows I can talk!" he says. He crosses his wings.
Haruna smiles! "Yup! Yuko-chan's a good friend who helped me out a lot!" she says with a series of nods. That's all she says. It isn't Haruna's place to out Yuko as a PreCure, too~
"I though you'd had gotten away from that like I did..." she says sheepishly to Yuko. "I'd had been here sooner, but I went to the store and you weren't there! So I came here!" she beams.
She looks to Madoka and blinks, and blushes! "Ah----! I'm sorry, please don't tell me!" she says with a pleading whine. "I used a PreCard to disguise myself so I could get in, because they wouldn't let me into visit." she admits.
She does pause. "Oh, okay!" she says to Madoka with a smile! "You do a lot, Madoka-chan~" she observes.
A few slow blinks from Yuko later, and the green-haired girl actually laughs! "So that's how it is... This happens normally, then?" She glances between both girls as she asks that, taking the cup with a grateful nod and downing it rather quickly (ice and all). "With the... Uh." She gestures at Haruna quickly, not saying anything further just in case there happen to be any inquiring ears about.
A PreCure can't be too careful, after all! But having allies inside the hospital certainly doesn't hurt, either. "So they don't pay you to be here? Huh... But why? You could probably get the minimum hourly wage, at least."
Note to self: Ask Blue about insurance.
"There were still a few that needed cover, so I..." Yuko makes a vague gesture with her hand and holds it up as if she was holding a shield, although she still keeps a wary eye directed at the corners of the room and the doors. Then again, with Haruna talking so easily about the PreCards, it's probably safe to assume Madoka's in on the whole thing somehow.
"Ah... It's fine, Haruna-chan. I'm just glad you two came to check up on me. It's been rea-ally boring here. I don't even have a laptop to do things on here."
There's a look of relief on Madoka's face as Corvus speaks up, "Thank goodness. I don't know if I could have kept that up for very long." Birds are after all considered disease carriers, especially crows and ravens! It wouldn't make sense for her to allow him inside even if he did Haruna if Yuko didn't know he was magical as well. Magic birds probably don't carry icky diseases, right?
Then there's a little shake of her head, "Don't worry, Haruna-chan, I won't kick you out so long as you don't do anything to upset," she looks quickly at Yuko's chart, "Minami-san." Considering that the green haired patient merely laughed before she finds that outcome to be pretty unlikely.
As soon as the water and ice are finished Madoka goes ahead and pours some more for her. If this too is quickly downed she'll ask, "Would you like me to get you a larger cup, Minami-san?" At the comment of pay and wages she blinks, genuinely surprised. "I don't do this to get anything, Minami-san, I do it because I enjoy helping people. The people here in the Hospital, they all deserve the best chance they can get to recover. If I can help them and maybe make their time here a little easier and quicker to pass then I'm happy to do it."
The comment about boredom doesn't go unnoticed, nor does the restlessness. Madoka looks at her chart a bit more closely and hums softly to herself, "You look like you're healing up fairly well. It looks like they're not intending to keep you here all that much longer. If you'd like, perhaps I could see if it would be alright to take you to the roof?" She smiles warmly, "There's a very nice flower garden if you've never been, and the view is beautiful."
Haruna Kurosawa had to explain herself to Madoka recently because Corvus was a big jerk and spoke when he wasn't supposed to! Corvus is very clean- and really, isn't a 'raven' in actuality. He's some sort of weird magical mascot animal. She smiles at Boost. "Yeah... I know. You threw one of your....uh...." mundane terms for Madoka's sake and Yuko's sake. "Big trash can lids...?" ugh. That was horrible.
"In front of me! It helped. But really.../White-chan is a big jerk!/." she insists as she throws her arm up. "I'mma gonna yell at her a bunch when I see her next!" she says.
"The beach is very important to me and she was messing it up!" she insists.
Then she realizes she's gotten too passionate and Madoka is RIGHT THERE.
"Ah!? S-sorry! This is magical stuff. I'm not trying to confuse you." she says meekly. "Yuko-chan! The flower garden is pretty! We should go!" she says!
There's another light chuckle, and that unease in Yuko's heart seems to be getting lighter already! Having Haruna and Madoka around are certainly doing wonders for that, and that second cup goes down rather quickly as well. "Bigger cup, bigger cup... Mm. Sure, that'll help. I probably shouldn't be eating so much ice, though."
It's bad for your teeth! Maybe. Won't stop her from doing it, though.
"I.. Think she's got a good heart in there somewhere, maybe. Even if she does do... Er. Dumb stuff sometimes." She's not too worried about Madoka hearing about these things at this point, at least, although she does giggle lightly at the thought of Haruna yelling at her as opposed to fighting. "I mean, she does listen, at least. And sometimes... There's things you can only to talk to people with through your fists!"
Then again, it wouldn't be a bad idea to try and talk to her at least once. Just to see how it goes, really.
Madoka's response to the subject of pay genuinely catches the green-haired girl off guard. She's not even sure what to say in response to that, and she just stares at the volunteer nurse blankly for a short while. "Tha... Wow. That's really nice of you. Just don't let bad people take advantage of that, okay?" Yuko offers her a reassuring smile at that before slipping her feet off the side of the bed.
"Yeah... The flower garden sounds good. Anything to get out of this room for a while."
As the magic stuff is talked about Madoka does her best to simply attend to her duties and not pay too much attention to it. Usually when it comes to having to ignore things people are talking about like this it's personal family matters and not magic, but she's become accustomed enough to it in her time as a volunteer.
"Okay," she comments, "Let me go check really quick!" She gives a little wave as she exits the room. A minute or so afterwards and she's back with both a large plastic mug with a handle, already filled with ice chips and water, and a happy smile on her face. "Good news! They said it won't be a problem so long as I'm with you. You've been stuck in your room for a while so I went ahead and asked the others to cover for me so you can enjoy the fresh air as long as you like." She was quick to notice just how uncomfortable the girl was getting even without the comments.
She goes over and stands by the bed as Yuko scoots over, offering her first her hand to help her up and then her arm, just in case she's wants help staying steady while walking along. "Hm? Bad people?" Madoka tilts her head a little to one side, "If they want to take advantage of me by letting me help people that need it, I'm not sure that's actually bad at all," she considers aloud.
The walk to the elevator isn't that far, and once inside she reaches over and taps a digital touchscreen and runs her finger all the way to the top, the elevator starting to move. It's an external elevator too, so if they look away from the doors they'll see Downtown Mitakihara in all it's urban glory.
Haruna Kurosawa follows along, because of course she does. Hopefully no one recognizes her from the spat up front earlier. People seem to still ignore Corvus. Magic is weird like that sometimes. She smiles as she follows along and spins a moment in it. She's used to heights and also looking over the city is calming sometimes. Hey! There's Infinity! Neat.
She crosses her arms and sighs. "She just does silly things some time..." she says, talking about White-chan. "But I also owe he a lot but--- nrg!" she huffs and crosses her arms.
She smiles down at Madoka. "She means people who'd take advantage of your kindness. Like someone shoving thier shift onto you so they can goof off and eat cookies or something." she says with a series of fast nods.
Ice chips! It's definitely not a good habit, but Yuko's not about to stop today. Injured people need to relax, after all! After pouring a few into her mouth to munch on, she takes Madoka's hand carefully and gets up from the bed with a relieved sigh. "That's good. You don't think they'd just.. Oh, let me out completely today, hm?"
She's not expecting to get out, of course, and there's still some more tests and checkups that need to be done before she can be cleared, but there's always hope!
Stepping into the elevator, Yuko takes a moment to peer through the elevator with Haruna (albeit a little more apprehensively just because of the height). She's never been particularly great with heights, but there's just something about seeing the city from the elevator this way has her standing a little more stiffly.
"She does... I really need to talk to her one day. Find out why she's so... Like that." She doesn't elaborate further, although she's not quite clear on what she even would elaborate on. Quite a mystery, that girl.
Speaking of mysteries, Yuko's caught off again by Madoka's response. What's with this girl and doing that? It can't just be that the meds are making her loopy, can it? Haruna gets a grateful nod at clarifying what she meant. "Mhm! But... Don't worry about it, Kaname-chan. You're doing great."
As Yuko smiles at the nurse and steps into the elevator, she knows what she has to do: She needs to protect this girl. From the people that would take advantage of her kindness, and especially from all the youma roaming about.
Careful to help Yuko up when she takes her hand, Madoka considers the question for a moment, "I wish I could say one way or the other, but that's something you'd need to talk to your doctor about. I can let the Nurses know if you'd like to speak with them about it, but I'm afraid I have no influence to offer." She really is just a volunteer, after all, but she'll make sure to do what little she can!
When Yuko is a bit uncomfortable in the elevator she notices quickly enough, shifting a bit closer to her and holding her arm just a bit more tightly while reaching over with her other hand to briefly set it on her arm in a very gentle reassuring touch.
More talk of magical things and people, and the pink haired girl simply stands by quietly, happy to let the two friends(?) talk.
Madoka looks up to Haruna when she's smiled at, letting out a soft laugh before shaking her head, "I don't think I'd mind that either. I'd probably take more shifts if I could, but there's a because of to my age." She then returns the smile with a warm one of her own, "I'll try to be careful, Haruna-chan, Minami-san. I don't think I'm all that gullible, though," she comments in a playful tone.
Off in the distance a pair of beady little round red eyes set on a stark white face with a permanent 'smile' blink twice.
Haruna Kurosawa knows more about Miss White that Yuko. Why she does the things. Why she likes Ao so much. What her real name is. They bonded a lot when she was 'Scorn'. Of course. Haruna doesn't like thinking about that past stuff. It hurts a lot, and it's evident on her face for a moment before she blinks and turns back to Yuko and Madoka.
"I have some ideas about that...but um. I shouldn't really talk about them." she says softly. "White-chan was... she protected me. When um. I was. Doing the bad things..." she says. She's spoken to Yuko once about this. She hopes she gets the undertone. She head tilts at Madoka. "You don't seem Gullibile..." she says softly, and blushes. "But people can belive anything in the right frame of mind..." she says more awkwardly.
"That works. I just wanna get back to my games already." Yuko slumps a bit as she says that, a slow realization coming to her: She left that game in an alley, didn't she? It's probably not even there any more, but there's really only one way to find out. Alas... She'll have to wait. And be patient.
... Being patient sucks. It does take her mind off the elevator for a moment, at least, and Madoka's reassurance helps keep her calm. Definitely someone to watch over once she's recovered!
Haruna's attempts to change the subject are noted, and Yuko simply nods and gives her an easy grin. "Fair enough. I'll have to ask you about some of that later, but that'll be later." She looks from Haruna to Madoka, glancing between them a few times before leaning back against the elevator door.
"Maybe not gullible, but...Hmm. Being too nice isn't a bad thing or anything. There's nothing wrong with thinking about yourself at least sometimes, though." She's starting to get a little fired up now, momentarily even forgetting that they're in this elevator. "What kind of snacks do you two like? Maybe we can pick some up from my place next time."
When after a little bit more talking the topic of conversation shifts back to her again Madoka blinks a little, doing her best not to fidget while she's helping keep Yuko steady. "I suppose that's true," she agrees with Haruna, "I have been told several times to be very careful about believing the things people tell me." Certain people, actually, but she doesn't say as much.
Then to Yuko she smiles, "I don't neglect myself. It's just that when think back to the things that really make me happy that's usually when I'm able to do something nice for someone or help them out in some way." Talking with her friends is also right up on the top of that list, but that's a given, right?
It's then that she's asked a deep and important question about herself, and she hums thoughtfully while thinking. "I like mochi and shaved ice. But sweet potatoes are very good too, especially in season like right now. Pino can be really nice too, especially if you're lucky and get a heart-shaped one!" After a moment she realizes she might have said a bit too much, and blushes while lowering her head slightly.
The elevator makes it to the top after a reasonably long ride to the top- Mitakihara General is a true skyscraper as well as a Hospital. A gentle motion helps keep Yuko from continuing to lean on the door as it opens up; that would be an embarrassing failure to protect her patient!
The roof itself is wide and expansive as Madoka helps guide Yuko out onto it, and helps give a sense of how truly massive the hospital is. There are concentric circles of low planter boxes full of flowers and lots of walking space between. You could probably run a respectable race around the outermost edge. For Yuko's sake she leads them a bit closer towards the center, where if not for the skyline consisting only of the tops of other buildings it's a little hard to realize they're on a roof at all.
Haruna Kurosawa huh? Snacks....?
OH! Crap, she knew she forgot something. There's like-- a cake! For Yuko! But it's all the way back in her dorm room and she /forgot/ to bring it! Maybe--- maybe she can still get it. She steps out onto the roof and looks around. No one around except them---at least, in this small central area.
"I forgot something. Um." she'd asked Blue about this recently--- 'what constitues 'wasting' her Precure powers?' in a round about way. Blue replied that, as long as you're doing it to make someone happy, or stop people from getting hurt, or to make someone smile- it was never really an 'abuse' of power. Besides. He knew how much trouble Precures like to get in with the PreCards. Like her earlier sneak attempt for example!
"I'll be right back, okay!?" she says. She turns towards Infinity and raises her PreChanMirror. "Rollin' Mirror Change!..." she calls out, shoving her main 'Cure' PreCard into the mirror. There's a bright green-blue flash as she transforms. "The wings of hope, that soar across the sea--- Cure Gull~" she calls out. She blinks. And peeks around. Silly... autopilot introductions uh. "I'll... be right back. Corvus, stay here and keep Yuko and Madoka company for a moment!" she says.
Gull turns into a tinny, sparkly beam of light that takes off towards Infinity.
Corvus looks to the two and shrugs. "She forgot something. As always~" he says with a bird smile.
The beam of light shoots back onto the roof and Cure Gull rematerializes. The henshin also drops immediatly because she doesn't wanna hang around as a PreCure up here and draw attention.
She has a cake! and plates! and plastic ware! She places it down. "Cake!" she insists. "I got this for you, Yuko-chan and I forgot it! I'm sorry~ But now Madoka-chan can also have cake!" she says.
It is a round, round cake. Also. Vanilla icing and it's choclate.
Abusing Precure powers for cake! Horray~
"Shaved ice is good! Especially when there's all that syrup around it, and that big chunk of super-concentrated syrup at the end from the part that melted by the time you get to it..!" Yuko can practically taste it now, and her desire to get back to her usual routine grows even stronger. "Pino's good, too. Never got a heart, but I did get one shaped like a..."
And then she starts giggling immaturely. Part of her is telling her not to continue with that line of thinking, but... "... A peach!" Close enough.
The roof is quite the breathtaking sight, and Yuko's looking even better than before now that they're out of the elevator. She raises an eyebrow as Haruna scurries off to transform, holding in more giggles once she runs off and Corvus returns without her. "But isn't the elevator the other way?"
It doesn't take her long to figure out why Haruna ran off like that, what with the beam of light and the sudden introduction of cake to their little rooftop relaxation time. "Ooh... Perfect~ Thanks, Haruna-chan. And don't worry, I wouldn't have even known if you didn't bring it." She laughs again and starts passing out the plastic ware, then pauses. "Mm.. We can eat up here, right?" She looks towards Madoka hopefully, waiting for some sort of confirmation before starting to cut and serve that cake to each of them. Even Corvus gets a piece!
Madoka watches with surprise as Haruna transforms into Cure Gull before her very eyes and shoots off across the sky as a beam of light. "I guess she decided it was okay if I knew her secret identity after all," she comments to herself. That streak of light comes back and when it dissipates it's Haruna there again. That sure was fast!
A quick nod is given is given to Yuko, "As long we're careful to clean up and not leave a mess it'll be fine." She looks at the cake as it's set down and hums. She's really not supposed to eat food meant for patients... It's not a hard and fast rule so much as it's Frowned Upon, but Madoka has always been the sort of girl that follows the spirit of the rules as well as the letter. Her parents are very pleased to have such a good girl for a daughter.
Still... there's another informal rule that's just as important, if not more so, and that's to always do whatever you can to make a patient and their visitor feel welcomed and comfortable. They're not exactly in the Yuko's hospital room anymore, and Madoka gets the distinct feeling it would upset one girl or the other were she to turn down their kind offer. "I can probably have a little piece," she finally decides aloud after several moments of thoughtful consideration showing on her face.
When her own piece of cake is handed to her she accepts it with a smile and a, "Thank you!" Her bites are small and careful even though it's clear she's enjoying it a lot. No crumbs allowed!
Haruna Kurosawa grins. "You can have a big of a piece as you want Madoka-chan! If I have to, I'll disguise as a nurse again and chew people out! Cake is important!" she speeches. "I mean. It makes everyone happy!" she insists. Corvus begins eating his piece. He juses a fork like everyone else- rather than peck at it. He looks up. "Live a little Madoka-chan~" he sings out teasingly.
Some Cures play 'fast and loose' with thier IDs. Haruna is one of those types. She'll transform right in front of a jerk if it means protecting people! Besides---lots of bad people already know who she is anyways! ALL of Eclipse, MOST of the Dark Kingdom. ALL of Virtue knows who she is. Justice does a little.
Madoka knowing who she is, is like a small issue among al that.
She takes a bite of her own cake.
"Well, You're my friend Yuko-chan~" she beams! "And I wanted to do somethin nice! But I forgot so I'm sorry." she whines.
"... Oh right. We're supposed to keep that a secret." Yuko hums quietly to herself for a moment, then shrugs and starts on her own slice. She's definitely finding it easier to relax here than in her own room, and those earlier feelings of dread have all but faded for now!
"Cake is very important. It's right up there with all the other important food groups, you know." Yuko says that with something resembling authority in her voice, puffing up just a bit with a wide grin. "And you know, my parents' place sells a lot of different types for just about any kind of Taste. I'll let them know to keep an eye out for you two so they'll give you discounts~"
Even now, she's gotta try selling her stuff. "Don't worry about it, really! The important thing is you and Corvus and Kaname-chan are all here. It means a lot." She beams again, then blushes a bit as she realizes just how sappy that might have sounded. "I-I mean... I-it was just getting boring on my own, that's all!"
Change topic, change topic! "S-so! Uh. Now that you know Haruna-chan can do that... What's your thing, Kaname-chan?"
"A small piece for me is fine," Madoka replies. "I need to save room for the amazing dinner my father is surely going to make tonight!" She giggles a little as she eats another bite of her yummy treat, closing her eyes for a moment to savor it. "This is really good, Haruna-chan," she cheerfully comments afterwards.
Another smile comes along with a laugh at Yuko's assessment of the fifth basic food group, "I love cake and sweets, but it's important not to eat too much of them." Now comes a soft little sigh of mild, mundane distress, "I'm short, so if I put any weight on at all it's really obvious."
Back to a more upbeat tone she asks, "What place is that, Minami-san?" She looks over with genuine curiosity, hopefully not annoying the girl too much by not figuring that out by her name.
The sappiness of the next comment doesn't seem to bother her at all, and instead it makes the girl in the pastel pink scrubs smile ever more brightly, "I'm very glad if I was able to make you feel a little better, Minami-san." Then there's a slow blink of her eyes as she eats another bite of her cake, clearly confused by something.
Then it seems to click in her head and she blushes slightly, shaking her head. "I don't have any skills, or talents, or magic, or anything like that..."
Haruna Kurosawa nods rapidly at Yuko. "Madoka-chan is just Madoka-Chan! and that's all the Madoka she needs to be!" she insists with a series of matter of fact nods. Corvus mimics this motion- except he also has a beakful of cake. He's somehow eating that cake faster than his tiny form let's on.
"But-- you did that Gardening so well! And you're helping out here!" she insists. "Those are awesome things and skills and talents! Sometimes helping people is all you can do!" she says brightly.
Then she pauses and blushes..."Wish someone woulda told me that a few years back..." she says sheepishly.
She looks back up and head tilts.
She looks towards Yuko. "I like your family's shop a lot! S'where I go to get all my snacks now~" she says.
"I see, I see... Hrm." The mention of weight has Yuko poking at her own legs. "I just can't get rid of it fast enough... Ah, but don't worry. Girls like us have an appeal of our own, too!" She sounds more like she's trying to convince herself than reassure Madoka.
"Mm? O-oh! My parents own a supermarket down by the harbor. Big place, lots of foot traffic, good spot for cheese and meat." She's not bothered at all, her spirits lifting a bit now that she's distracted from the previous topic.
"Maybe not magic, but you've definitely got skills! I mean, you're here with us, right? Taking care of people is really hard to do right, and not everyone can do it, but you are." She nods at Haruna and grins once more, putting some more of that cake away with a satisfied sigh.
"Mm.. You're in luck, then, Haruna-chan. We jsut got a new shipment of imported chips from North America. Weird flavors, but they're on sale for this week only!" Truly, she will never stop shilling.
Madoka nods along to Haruna's words as she finishes another bite of cake, her piece just about finished now. Then she continues on a little further with her kind words and it makes the girl's light blush linger a few moments longer. "That's not really the same as being able to fly off and get cake from a long way away really fast... but I'm glad that I'm able to help!"
Yuko might just be a little surprised when she pokes her leg; being in the hospital recovering can sometimes have the effect of dropping weight and she's been in for a couple days now. Maybe it has to do with that simple, boring hospital food they serve?
A quick nod, "I'll ask my father about it some time. He does all our shopping, but he'd probably let me come with him if I asked and I'm sure I can get him to try shopping at your parent's supermarket." Especially if their specialties are cheese and meat, since Madoka's father grows so many of his own fresh vegetables.
More compliments and flattery come her way, and she looks torn between squirming in embarrassment and smiling brightly. In the end she ends up looking cutely shy as she peeks between the two older girls.
Haruna Kurosawa knows this expression- she kind of blushes when she realizes that Madoka probably feels delightfully shy! So she frowns. "E--ah! Sorry." she says looking down. She sort of hunches in a bit as she sits on the edge of a large stone planter for some flowering bushes. "Hey---um. I have a dorm in Infinity! If you ever need to talk or just need a place to sit and stress out in a safe place, you can find me the student directory!" she says with a smile.
Corvus is suddenly sneaking off.
He's sneaking off because he has THE REST OF THE CAKE in his wings. She looks to the right. "CORVUS-CHAN YOU PUT THAT DOWN RIGHT NOW! YOU ALREADY HAD A PIECE AND THAT IS YUKO-CHAN'S CAKE!" she yells.
Corvus puts it down. "I wasn't gonna eat it all!" he insists. She sighs and facepalms.
"Okay Madoka-chan. I gotta go. You take good care of Yuko-chan for me now!" she beams!
The hospital mush has certainly taken an effect on Yuko's weight, for better or for worse. Granted, it'll probably all come back by the end of the week, but still.
"You definitely should. My parents are pretty good with discounts if I let 'em know ahead of time, so I'll do that once I get back."
Minami Mart: Specialists in imported cheeses and snacks! Along with other standard supermarket stuff, but especially those two things (with all the smells those bring with them).
Yuko's looking rather amused, too, by those embarassed expressions from both Madoka and Haruna. So cute! "You're from Infinity, too? Huh... Tell Hannah-chan I said hi if you see her, then. In case I miss her again with all that stuff that's been going on there."
Come to think of it, could that be...? Nah. Probably just a coincidence.
And then Corvus is off with the cake! Although Yuko pouts for a bit, she eventually breaks into more laughter. "Alright. Take care, Haruna-chan! Be careful on your way back~"
And so, that dread has been pushed back for another day!
