Fate Testarossa is flying overhead, up in the skies over tokyo. Today, for once, she isn't actively looking for Lost Logia. Not directly, anyways. Today is a shopping day for her. Fate and Arf need food. Fate needs some more normal clothes for various functions and general civillian life. Precia wanted some chocolates so that Fate could prove that at least she was good at finding something.

Even if she has to shop, Fate really doesn't want to get caught in traffic, whehter it be people traffic or car traffic. Being a mage has its benefits. She's being a bit sneaky, flying high enough into the air that most normals who see her would just think that it was a bird or something, sticking close to the roofs of buildings to minimize her visibility, but in the end she's seen that most people just don't notice her.

Someone who was looking for her, and knew what to look for, would probably be able to spot her eventually, however. Especially as she starts descending towards the shopping strip.

Having largely recovered from both her own mistakes, and being staked (knifed, really) to a wall, Rune feels confident that she can be out and about Tokyo without this being unwise. And so she has taken to the rooftops tonight, patrolling for a few different things.

One of them is trouble. Monsters seem to favor the night. The other is those who fight them... though this time Rune has much different intentions than she did previously.

Upon spotting Fate in the air, she shouts up to her. "Fate!" Too far away to be heard, Rune tries again... then wonders if she has Fate's phone number. ...No.

The window of opportunity is about to close. Unable to fly herself, Rune is about to lose her chance to speak with Fate. And so she aims her wand... and fires.

A green orb flies out, then scatters into a spray of emerald sparkles. They're aimed way ahead of Fate's flight path, coming nowhere near hitting her. Realizing how bad that looks, Rune hurriedly puts her wand behind her back - it 'magnetizes' to the side of her dress' bow - and digs in that same bow to retrieve a strip of white cloth that she's effectively waving as a white flag. It struck her as a possibly wise thing to carry when going to speak with her peers once she stopped attacking them, after all.

And so she continues to wave this flag even while making leaps toward the shopping strip in hopes of intercepting Fate, boot-wings glowing with silver light during each jump.

A set of magical sparkles appears ahead of Fate, and she stops in mid-air, hair whipping around in front of her when she halts. She hovers still, unmoving, looking around for the source. Is it an attack? If it was, it wasn't a very well aimed one. Most of the people she knows are better shots than that. If it's not that, then is it a challenge? A warning that Fate should prepare for battle?

Fate holds Bardiche in her hand, head swiveling back and forth until she sees the source of the magical burst.

Oh, it's Rune. The glowing boot-wings and waving white flag give it away. Fate leans forward, descending towards the rooftops in a way that she'll meet Runealy halfway. When she gets close enough, her feet touch the roof, and she looks up at Rune.

The last time she saw Rune, the princess was in pretty rough shape, yet here she is running around.

"... are you okay? After... all of that?"
Runealy Waldia 2015-11-13 03:37:11 14867
Rune slows down, relieved when Fate realizes the intent behind that signal, and comes to a stop when Fate is close enough to talk to. "That's why I'm here. I've been looking for you, wanting to talk to you ever since then. Turns out I don't have your number, or if I did I somehow lost it... so that was the only way I could reach you. Sorry about that, didn't mean to scare you."

Aside from taking a moment to catch breath, Runealy looks to be notably better off than she was when Fate last saw her.
Fate T. Waldia 2015-11-13 03:50:33 14872
"It's okay," says Fate. "It's not like it was dangerous, that far away from me."

Fate's head tilts to the side, and she takes a few steps closer to Runealy. "I don't think we exchanged numbers. I don't really use my cell phone that often."

Fate looks Rune over. Sure enough, she seems alright. Well, if she came to talk about that thing that happened, Fate may as well fill her in.

Fate's left hand points towards the white flower hanging in the sky, and she says, "It was because of that. The girl who attacked you, she's a convicted criminal who escaped TSAB custody. The woman she works for is... something very powerful. She looks like a person, but I'm not sure she's really human..."
Runealy Waldia 2015-11-13 03:56:09 14874
"Want to fix that?" Rune offers, putting her 'white flag' away in favor of pulling out a phone, rattling off numbers. Yet Fate's other comments intrigue her, eye raised. "'TSAB'? Heard that somewhere before... nowhere good, as far as I know." She tries to recall how that relates to what she was able to figure out about Rising Crash, but can't quite put all the information together.

Instead, other topics hold her attention. "I don't meet too many /people/ who act like that... she's scary, no matter what. Actually laughing about what she was doing... reminds me of a demon. That's good to know, but she's not why I'm here."

She nods to Fate, a single deep gesture. "You are. You're a big part of why I'm standing here, and you're who I'm looking for. So," A faint smile forms. "I wanted to thank you."
Fate T. Waldia 2015-11-13 04:29:22 14885
"Umm..." Fate hesitates at the notion of giving out her number. She wonders if Precia would approve of that. Wait, no, that's silly. When has Precia ever stopped Fate from having friends before? She didn't seem to mind it before the accident, as far as Fate remembers. "Well, if we're going to be friends..."

Fate takes out a cell phone, and enters the numbers that Fate mentions. She sends a text to Runealy, containing her own number and the name Fate.

At the mention of thanks, Fate blushes slightly, then says, "W-well, she was attacking you. It looked like she meant to kill you. I mean... we did agree to look after each other, as best as we could." As best as they could, considering who Fate works for.
Runealy Waldia 2015-11-13 04:36:23 14888
"I'd like that," Rune answers when Fate mentions being friends. "I really would. Felt that way before this, and now more than ever I really, really do!" She hurries through the process of saving Fate's number, an example of one of the few uses of modern technology Rune has learned through repetition rather than truly understanding.

"She was, and I think if she had a few more seconds, she would have. You might have been one of the interruptions that slowed her down enough that... I'll be able to go home soon. I was thinking of letting you see it, when I do."
Fate T. Waldia 2015-11-13 04:53:10 14892
Numbers are saved and Fate's cell is stored away. She's also a little awkward around the cell phone, but not nearly as much so. If anything, it's less complicated than what she's used to.

"Your home?" asks Fate. When Fate and Runealy spoke earlier, Fate remembered a lot about Fate returning home to her own mother, but what does she know about Runealy's home?

"You haven't been able to go home until now? Why not? Where is your home?"

Fate's concept of Earth geography is a bit weak, so she has no means of knowing that Runealy's dress often resembles a distinctly European style.

"Well, I'm glad you can go home soon."
Runealy Waldia 2015-11-13 04:57:43 14894
"This is going to sound weird," Rune hasn't quite figured out that Fate may be familiar with multiple words, "and please be careful who you share it with, but my friends and I... my Knights, we're from another world entirely. We came here because our home is in danger and we needed a solution, and maybe we have it now. Not sure, but I think we've got about as good a chance as we're going to get."

She continues, "We haven't gone back yet because of..." A finger points to the sky. "That. The attacks happening because of that. It wouldn't be right for us to just say 'thanks, people of Earth', then run off to let them face this on their own. So if we can, we're trying to help them deal with this before we save our home. Once we do and the sky finishes clearing up, I think it'd be really neat if you got to spend a few days with us."
Fate T. Waldia 2015-11-13 05:04:49 14897
From another world? Fate actually... somewhat relaxes a bit when she hears that. Somehow, it makes Rune seem a bit more familiar, like the two of them have something in common.

"Me too actually. I'm from a world called Midchildia. Devices like my Bardiche come from there." Fate holds up Bardiche to illustrate. "I've seen a lot of earth-dwellers with them, but I'm not sure where they got them from. I think someone dropped a lot of them around here."

She isn't completely aware of the Asura crash, at the moment.

"I'd like to see your world. I haven't seen very many worlds other than my own and this one... and even this one I haven't seen much of it."
Runealy Waldia 2015-11-13 05:08:54 14898
"Midchilda?" Rune repeats this with some interest. "I think I've heard that name too, but..." She decides it's not of any immediate concern, and a quick headshake brings the princess back onto the other topic.

"Then it's decided!" Some enthusiasm takes hold now, showing on Rune's face. "When it's time to go back, I'll call you and you can get ready and come with us. Just so you know, though... cell phones probably won't work once you cross over to our world. We..."

If Tokyo is primitive by Midchildan standards, Rune's admission is going to be even worse: "...we don't have electricity. We've never heard of any kind of cell phone."
Fate T. Waldia 2015-11-13 05:30:53 14907
"Huh? A world without electricity?" asks Fate. Wait... no cell phones? No electricity? "Wait, so... you mean..."

Fate considers it for a moment. She's already gotten used to Earth's lack of technology. Rune's world would probably just be a few steps further. On the other hand, it's not like some worlds don't just use magic instead of electricity.

"Well, that's okay. I don't use my cell phone that much. Bardiche works on magic, so it doesn't need electricity."

Fate shifts a little awkwardly, before asking, "umm... I'm not sure how I'd contact you there, if there's no cell phones, though."
Runealy Waldia 2015-11-13 05:34:44 14908
"Back home we use messengers, plan when we'll meet, things like that. We can stick together until you're somewhere safe where we know we can reach each other." This sounds like the most natural thing ever to Rune.

She gives one more nod to Fate. "So that's how it is. Thanks again for everything... for helping, for doing right by your mother, all of it. You're..." Rune decides to invoke the words she has used in describing others such as Sailor Moon, "...pretty amazing!"
Fate T. Waldia 2015-11-13 05:39:21 14910
Stick together until they're somewhere safe? Fate thinks about it. Sounds not too much unlike how it was before Arf and she found an apartment to stay at, when they first came to Earth. She doesn't see any reason to object.

Then Rune praises her, and Fate blushes, saying, "I'm really not that great... but... thanks for saying so!"

Fate glances towards the shopping district, before looking back to Rune. "Well... I should probably get going. I need to pick up food and things or Arf will get hungry. I'll see you around."

Fate waves to Rune as she starts walking towards the side of the roof, hopping off into an alleyway and dismissing her Barrier Jacket. When she rejoins the street, she's in civillian clothes.
