You know what's wonderful? Summer. And a break from school and classes. But what vacation is complete without a trip to a local theme park, full of rides and food and all those photo opportunities! So it's not surprising the park does good business, with people of all ages wandering around and a general feeling of excitement in the air.
This is certainly the case with Junko, dressed in an embroidered denim romper with a short striped shirt beneath, blue hair in a ponytail as well as a purse slung to her side. She's currently near one of the park mascots grinning widely as she takes a few selfies and is offered a green balloon which she happily accepts.
Amaya can be seen walking after a Mascot that refuses to take pictures with a Japanese girl that is nearly six feet all. However, she can be seen giving up at some point... "I need something to show that I did something for Summer break.." She turns her head to look around a little bit, trying to find something..
Amaya makes her way over to a roller coaster, and starts to stand in line. "Hmm.. I wonder.. I should be able to pass any height restriction on a roller coaster!" Then again, she towers over everyone in line at the moment. Her hair making her a flaming beacon to stare at with other people around her, which she seems to be doing a good job on ignoring all the stares she is getting.
Zafira has decided from the events of the last few days, to enjoy himself. I mean, after you go crazy, then are thrown off a roof and then get smacked by bad guys, you kinda just wanna relax in all. So here he is, and as usual dressed in his black Tee, black pants and tennis shoes, he really needs a new outfit ya know. Casually walking around, with a soda in one hand and just admiring all the oddities a theme park can put out.
In his walking he doesn't quite notice sunshine and rainbows girl, but he does notice the exceptionally tall one and raises a brow. Well that is certainly not something you see every day, a tall girl in a sea of shortness, a small chuckle errupts from him.
Junko is actually slightly shorter than the average middle school girl-- but not by much. So it's easy to miss her in the crowd-- especially in a crowd like this, where her humming and merry meandering (that sometimes breaks into a skip) fit right in to the general atmosphere. Of course, she's also curious as to what everyone's looking at-- and whoa, there is a really tall girl! Too tall!
So, naturally, Junko heads in that direction, because her curiousity will get the better of her. She eyes the line for only a brief moment, before she puts a grin on her face and waves, running right towards Amaya and ignoring those in line behind her! "I'm sorry! I'm sorry it took so long! I got you a balloon, though, so don't be mad at me, neh? After all, we're such friends! Ah ha ha ha!" Junko grins up at Amaya, offering a wink and the balloon!
Amaya looks down to the girl that had just ran up to her seeming pretty confused at the moment. She laughs sheepishly, and looks around really quickly as people around them started to go back to what they were doing, waiting in line, and not staring at Amaya.
Amaya turns her attention back to Junko, "Thanks, I really appreciate it." She takes the balloon and looks at it for a moment, "That's right, we are such friends." She seems a little more relaxed now that people aren't just staring at her, and then offers Junko a friendly smile. She then speaks in a quieter tone so that others around them can't really her, "I'm Naga Amaya, but you can just call me Amaya."
Zafira of course now see's Junko, well maybe not so much see's her as he hears her, what with his super-sensitive hearing and the fact she likes being loud and crazy. He though attaches a smile and begins walking towards the two, weaving in and around the crowds as he goes. Though he has the same problem as Naga, being really tall at 6', he's a guy and so it's a bit different in his case but still being surrounded by all the short people can make one feel distant sometimes
Along the way, he passes by a mascot and accepts a ballon and keeps going, hmm a nice ballon definetly. He ties the end up in a small bow shape, despite the fact he can't stand the things, but this is different. Coming up just enough to hear the quieter tone of the name, then clears his throat.
"Junko, are you running around making kids smile again?"
Junko's grin widens. Mission accomplished! Got a spot nearer to the roller coaster and met someone willing to go along with her shenanigans! "I'm Fuma Junko, and you can just call me Junko, too." She lowers her voice to just between them, "Thanks for letting me do this. I thought your hair looked really impressive!" Hair? Not height? Well, both at once. But then there is someone behind her, and Junko turns, blinking a bit as she looks at Zafira and then hits her palm with the fist of her other hand, "Ah! That's right, the one who doesn't like ice cream, Zafira-san! Amaya, this is Zafira."
Amaya blinks a couple of times, and looks to Zafira, "How can someone not like ice cream?" She seems a little confused about that, then shrugs, "Nice to meet you, Zaffira." She bows ever so slightly to the guy. She then turns her attention back to Junko, "It is pretty nice, and I take good care of it as well. Hehe... Thanks."
Zafira laughs at Junko, "Forgot me already huh? It's not like we haven't seen each other around or anything." an aloof sorta retort, but it probably has deeper meaning then what he's letting on to mean. He then slides his eyes over and looks over her new friend, well she was different he'll say that much, "Nice to meet you as well, and it's not that I don't like ice-cream, it's just there are other issues involved in it, that is all. But, aside from that, today is a nice day isn't it." He returns her bow as well after finishing his words, to be respectful in al.
Junko just... gives Zafira a confused look. She certainly hasn't met him before! "Eh? I think you're confusing me. I've only ever seen you that time we played tag." She says, then shrugs. Maybe he's seen her around Tokyo or something. Either way, she turns to look at Amaya next, smiling still. "It's really pretty and glossy hair! It attracts a lot of attention, definitely. Especially since you're tall, too."
The line advances, and Junko moves along with it, so as not to lose her 'hard won' early spot. It cost her a balloon, after all! "Zafira goes to Seishou, and I transferred to Seiyou recently. My stepmom was really insistent so I finally gave in."
Amaya nods a little bit, and hands the balloon back to Junko as she feels kind of silly with it. "Here you can have this back. Thank you." She gives Zafira a suspicious look, "Where are you from? That is if you don't mind me asking.." She leans her head to the side, curiously. She then hears what Junko is going onto, "Oh, I go to Verone... I got a scholarship for sports, primarily basketball... The vice principal said it was because of my height... What a jerk.."
Zafira he walks along with them, not in line but simply in company, looking down at Junko, "Mearly that we see each other around, for the size of the city it is not that big. And one such as yourself, is not hard to miss Junko, for you are quite cheerful." smiling, then looking over towards Amaya. "I am from, here and there. From elsewhere, not a native of the city mind you. So, in that effect I am different from others, not just in height, but in mind." very odd responce to a simple question, but it worked, "Though, as I am not a female, I cannot truly begin to understand the issue of being tall in that regard. But, it is not a completely bad thing, there is much you can do with it, and much that can be useful that only someone of height can know."
"You've got a basketball scholarship? That's impressive!" Junko says, eyes looking at Amaya with sincere enthusiasm, "And I'm positive they wouldn't pay for all your school fees just because you're tall. They have to think you have real talent!" She nods to herself several times, crossing her arms over her chest. Absolute certainty!
"We should try playing together sometimes. I'm not good, but I'm not terrible." Said with pride, despite the fact that she's so short. Well, she is highly athletic. Zafira's commentary on where he is makes her grin, "I'm not originally from Tokyo, either. But we didn't live that far. Just along the coast. Tokyo's a lot more hectic than bak home was."
Amaya nods to Zafira, and then sighs a bit finding his explanation a bit long winded. "Okay, so you two aren't from Tokyo, got it.. Well, I'm from Nagoya originally, and my parents wanted me to go to a nice school up here in Tokyo." She moves forward with the line. "No, it is also because my athletic ability, and talent. I just did normal athletics, but they figured they could use me for basketball, which I was able to pick up very quickly. On top of being tall, I am very strong.." She laughs some, "I actually want to be a police officer, but if that doesn't work, I want to go into showbiz and become a professional wrestler.. Hehe..." She gives a couple of firm nods.
"What about the two of you, what do you two want to do when you get out of school, or college?"
Zafira listens to Amayas tellings, a wrestler huh, well why not, "I, am merly seeking knowledge, seeking the wisdom of things that are to come, and things that are to be changed. I have nothing specific in mind for the future, sometimes it is the now, that is more important then what tommorow brings." Speaking from inside, of things that no one else but him and a few others know, he looks at them, "Sometiems, meeting and treasuring a friendship made today. Is more important then what that friendship might bring tommorow." He's being all weird and cryptic today, what's up with that?
Today? Junko gives Zafira a sidelong, unimpressed look, before sighing and shaking her head, then flapping a hand in Zafira's direction, "Don't worry, Amaya. He does that a lot, from what I can tell. My guess is he reads a lot of philosophy books or something." She informs the taller girl, talking about Zafira as if he wasn't even really there. "He's nice, though, so I just accept it. It makes him interesting to talk to, too?" She grins again, "And police officer? That sounds so cool! I hope you don't end up arresting me or anything. Wrestler sounds more fun. You get to wear cool masks!" Not...not every wrestling type includes masks, Junko! But look how her eyes are shining! Why crush her dreams?
At Amaya's question, though, Junko doesn't hesitate. Making a fist, she declares, "To travel the world, eat delicious foods and own a house full of cool souvenirs."
"Or he is reading strange manga.." Amaya grins a little bit, "Anyways, friendship should always be treasured!" She nods firmly again. "Also, why would I arrest you, Junko? Are you some kind of space pirate or something?" She says in a complete joking tone.
"I hear there are a lot of nice things in this world, and two of the seven wonders are in America.. Unfortunately, it is a bit expensive to go over there.." She sighs a bit, and stuffs her hands in her pockets. The gate to get on the ride closes in front of them, "Yeah! We're next!" She then turns to look to Zafira, "Too bad you're not in line.. hehe..."
Zafira smiles over at her, "don't worry about me, enjoy the ride you two. Enjoy it much, for it looks as much fun as it sounds. I will be here, for where there is Junko, there is always something of interest to happen and enjoy. Ballons, clearly being one of them." he nods, like ballons are the greatest thing ever and Junko was the one that made them be, cause clearly Junko is just that awesome.
"Spare pirate, huh?" Junko says, grinning. Then it turns into a smirk. "I like the sound of that! Imperial Terror of the Seven Galaxies, Space Pirate Princess Junko! Best Pirate in the Universe! Huwah!" She jumps up, both hands in the air, attracting even more attention than normal! People are probably thinking Zafira and Amaya are the worst babysitters ever. But she just giggles, and hands Zafira her balloon, "All right! You hold on to this for now, Zaf-san, make sure it doesn't fly away while Amaya and I teach this coaster who's boss!" she looks pretty fired up about the coaster, but who wouldn't be? Coaster time!
Amaya smiles a little bit, "To think someone so short can be a terror of a galaxy... Well... I guess it is possible." She shrugs a little bit, and seems to be ignoring the stares. "Lets get on the front car!" She smiles a little bit and walks up to it. She then looks back to Zafira, "We'll see ya in a couple of minutes."
Zafira takes Junkos ballon and holds onto it, "don't worry, it is safe. Enjoy your ride, and scream as loud as you can Junko. Let all know, that you are the mighty dreaded space princess pirate Junko!" He grins goofyly
Junko grins, and with a wave towards Zafira rushes over to the front car, apparently up for a crazy thrill ride! She does call out, though, "I'm not short! I'm average, average! You're just really tall! Both of you are!" Once she's seated, she waits for the bar to come down and keep them in place, looking at Amaya, "This ride is really fun! Have you been on it before?" There's only a moment or two to chat, though, since soon everyone's on the ride and it starts up, stuttering up the incline with anxiety-inducing slowness.
Amaya shakes her head, and waves to Zafira as well to keep the charade up, "No, I haven't been on this rind before. I mean, it doesn't look bad, and I don't really fear this kind of thing.. I just think this kind of thing is fun." She smirks to Junko, "I've been through some pretty creepy stuff before, so this should be nothing, right?" She talks as the coaster grows closer to the peak.
Zafira stands there, holding the ballons with a smile, and gives them both a small wave. He would be the proudest big brother ever if Junko was really his little sister, but well she's not, so he gives her the best smile a friend can give. That and he shall guard her ballon from any evil ballon stealers that might try to come by. Though, gotta admit he does look kinda silly, this really tall guy, in street clothes holding two ballons, but oh well he doesn't care.
Junko really is like a little kid, unable to keep her arms still as they climb, feet tapping on the floor in time to the hands smacking against the pipe keeping them in place. She's practically squirming in her seat, "It's so fun! Super fun! And creepy stuff is totally different, that's haunted houses, roller coasters are like-- they just get your heart really beating! I can't wait!"
And she doesn't have long to wait, either. Soon they are at the very top of the first hill, and Amaya can get a great view of the park. My that's a long way down. The time to admire the view, however, is so-- very-- short--
Whooooosh! Wind will whip about as the girls rush downward, Junko screaming delightedly, and just when the ground seems to be imminent the tracks sweep them off to the side, a sharp turn at fantastic speed, circling around before up another hill and into a loop de loop!
Amaya blinks and looks around the park, the smiles softly, "I bet! Not being in control kind of adds a thrill to it, right?" She looks to Junko just as they starts to head straight for the ground. "Woo!" She sticker her hands up in the air, and lets out a delighted scream, enjoying the ride. She suddenly feels herself sucked down into the car when it levels off, and takes a sharp turn. She keeps herself from leaning against Junko, not wanting to crush the poor girl under her weight..
Zafira watches the roller coaster cart, zig-zag and whoosh around... suddenly thinking to himself, thank the gods he's not on that thing, just looking at it makes him dizzy. Which then elicists a small laugh from him that cause a few people to stare at him oddly. He can easily reach those feats, and yet that seems normal to him, but watching this roller coaster is something all together. He lifts up Junkos ballon and ties a little bow at the bottom... Yeah, he doesn't like them, but for some reason as this need to make them.
The roller coaster keeps up a heart-pounding pace through whirls and loops and sharp turns, giving its riders only a second or two to breathe at the second-highest incline before they're off again! Junko slides this way and that, hands skyward when not gripping the bar for dear life, and in general just seems to have a completely un-selfconscious good time.
Alas, regardless of how long it feels, the ride itself is actually fairly short, and in no time at all the girls are pulling into the loading platform again, Junko's hair a mess and cheeks bright red to match the glow she's got going, "That was great! We have to do that again before we leave, Amaya!" She says excitedly, waiting to hop out once the bar rises. "Forget piracy! I'm going to be an international space racer and do tricks like that while driving at hundreds of miles an hour through the asteroid fields! Vroom!" And extending her arms, she actually runs like that back towards Zafira, as if she was four instead of fourteen.
Well. She could pass for twelve. Maybe that's what people will assume.
Amaya smiles a little bit at the end of the ride, "That was refreshing." She then goes on to listen to Junko, and gets out of the car, then follows Junko to Zafira. She look to the guy still and tilts her head to the side before looking back to Junko. "I think you mean intergalactic, right?" She catches up to Junko and places a hand on her shoulder. "I do need to be going soon, I got things I need to do at home." She stretches some, then folds her hands behind her head.
"Where do the two of you stay?"
Zafira smiles more watching them get off the ride and walk over, "Glad you girls enjoyed it. It looked lots of fun." then huhing at Amaya as she asks, "Ooh.. I live, in a home, with some others. We're a family of sorts. It's nothing special, but we enjoy each others company."
"International, intergalactic, same thing." Junko dismisses the corrections. Details, just minor details! She reaches for her green balloon again, giving a spin before pouting at Amayah's need to leave. "Ehh? So soon! We should exchange emails, at least!" Taking out her phone (which has at least three phone straps that might look a little familiar to Zafira), she begins to add Amaya as a contact. "And I live with my dad and stepmom, and my little brother Nobo-kun. He's super cute." A serious nod at this answer. Clearly Junko's little brother is the best and cutest of little brothers. She grins at the pair, "He's going to be two years old in February!"
Amaya smiles softly, then gives Junko her e-mail, "Well, don't spam it too much. If i don't answer, I am probably out on a morning jog. Those usually last a couple of hours for me. It also sounds like you have a wonderful family." She nods a couple of times.
Amaya looks to Zafira, "Enjoy each other's company? You play games and what not? That sounds like a blast.. I don't really get time to play video games.. I might get like... an hour a week if even that.. So I just play simple games with short stages that let me save my progress.."
Zafira looks on as Junko pulls out her cell and starts messing with. then realising, he doesn't have one... Well, he doesn't need it, but then all the teenagers have them, he should think about getting one so he can better fit in with all the rest. He'll have to remember to ask Shamal about that when he gets home later.
He nods at Amaya, "Well, I guess we play games, nothing that most people would find all that fun, but it keeps us together. We mostly do our own things though. Homework for some of us, sports and other activities. I am supposed to be doing club things often, but find most the time I'm distracted by things."
Junko jumps a bit to grab Amaya's arm, trying to tug the girl down, "Come on! I need a picture of you for the page!" She says. Junko-Amaya selfie-time! The girl even gives the victory V in it. "I won't send spam! I'm usually busy too. I'm on the City Beautification Committee and I babysit sometimes." Perhaps that's why she's so good with kids! ...or because she's nothing but a big kid herself. "It's more fun to actually go out and do things, I think. Tokyo's such a huge city, I've been here for months and I feel like I barely know it at all."
Amaya lets herself be pulled down to Junko's height, "That sounds like a lot of fun." She smiles widely for the picture with her head next to Junko's. Once the picture is done, she stands upright. She then stretches a little bit.
"Well, it was good to meet the both of you, I do need to get some things done at home before my day ends." She smiles to Junko, "It's nice to meet a sweet girl such as yourself." She then turns her attention to Zafira, "It is nice to meet you as well. Have fun playing chess and other board games." She gives a friendly wave.
Zafira laughs a little, he waves, "And enjoy the rest of your day as well. Glad to see someone else helping Junko smile, and vice-versa. She has that habit, it's a great thing to have." He looks down at Junko as he says that, she's is just a little bundle of overactive sugar reactors.
Terrifyingly enough, the only sugar Junko's had is a soda. She is /naturally this hyper/. Scary thought, isn't it? But she just grins at Amaya, "It was great meeting you too, Amaya! I'll stop by Verone sometime to watch you practice! I bet you look super, super cool! She waves farewell with the selfsame enthusiasm, and she looks quite sincere about making her way into the prestigious Verone and shamelessly invading to find her friend!
Poor Verone.
Turning to Zafira, she points, "You make me sound like some kind of clown. It's just I believe in having fun, that's all." She sighs, raising her arms behind her head, "If you weren't so old and boring with all your philosophy you'd understand better."
Amaya smiles, "I would like that." She nods a couple of times, and then looks to Zafira, then blinks a couple of times, "Philosophy huh?" She smirks.
Amaya waves to the two of them one more time before she turns and starts to walk off, "Have fun!"
Zafira kneels down a little and looks at Junko head on, "You make it sound like I'm some kind of old man, or a grandpa or something. I'm only a few years older then you, and still in school. I do understand, but sometimes you simply cannot express words so easily, you have to say them in different ways. I suppose though, it all depends on how you was raised that effects how you think in these terms." He reaches out and boops her on the nose and laughs... Yeah a few years older, maybe a few centuries older, but she doesn't know and that's not important.
Junko, listening to Zafira's words... just sticks her tongue out at him at the end, finger pulling down the cheek of one eye to make a scary face! But she grins, "You absolutely, positively talk like an old man. You might as well be forty, the way you go on." Forty?! Junko's putting Zafira practically in the grave! "You really are too serious, Zafira-san. I mean it's not that hard to express yourself in words. You just say what you think, neh?" From the look on Junko's face, it really is that obvious! "I think the whole reason you talk like that is you won't just say what comes to mind because you're too busy worrying about the 'right words.' The right words are the first ones that pop into your head. Duh."
Zafira hums, he ponders that a moment and then nods, "Perhaps you are right, in that I don't always speak what I think. But, words hold power. Sometimes, the words we speak can harm others, or harm ourselves. It is not always the right thing to say what you think. I mean, perhaps I was to tell you that I wasn't really human, that I was a space alien and came looking for delicious meatballs to take hom to save my home planet. You probably would think it was silly and not believe it. But, there are others that would take it seriously, and that would be bad." He's kind of ignoring that old man thing, he might as well be compared to some of the people he hangs around with.
Junko puts a hand beneath her chin and stares -quite- intently at Zafira at his words. Then puts her hands on her hips and grins, "No, I'd believe you. You talk funny enough to be a space alien, after all." She says with a laugh. Clearly more teasing than serious. "But who cares what other people take seriously or not? People are going to do what they want no matter what. The important thing is that you are who you are." And she pats her chest at this-- she's solidly Junko, after all, and never anything else!
Well, unless she's Junko in a pirate hat...
"Really," She says, crossing her arms again, "The only time you shouldn't say what you think is when you're /trying/ to mislead someone. And that's dishonest." Said with oomph, as if her position in line didn't cut in line and lie freely herself.
Zafira kinda lightly coughs at that, well she had him on that. He clearly is trying to be missleading, but without trying to show that he is. Gotta give her credit, she is quite a smart cookie that one. He smiles, "Well, then the truth? I'm not really a space alien, I know, I'm sorry. I'm just an average guy, I live with the closest thing I have to a family, and I'm what they call rebelious. I tend to do what I want, when I want. I suppose it's not the most fitting of images, or coolest of things. But, I am what I am."
"See? That sounded a lot more natural! You should just be more honest like that." Tilting her head, she smiles, the balloon still in hand. She takes a moment to tie it to her wrist, then points, "Now come on! We should enjoy more of the theme park while we're here. Come on, they had some pretty tasty looking carts over there, and I'm getting hungry!"
Zafira laughs and chases after her, "Ok ok. fine. But, this time I'm buying, as thank you for all that you have done. Not just for me, but for all the little kiddies as well." realising, he's now signed his warrant, as she'll probably wanna sample every thing that looks good. But oh well, it was a small price to pay, for a smile.
"Okay!" Junko says, a little too quickly and a little too cheerfully. Zafira probably is right about that warrant. But Junko does add, "I'll accept it as a gift, but not as any kind of thank you. I have fun with the kids, it'd feel weird to get thanked for something when I had as much fun as they did! So don't worry about it, neh?" And with that, she tugs on his sleeve and then runs ahead, "I'm going to go start looking at the menus!"
