Conscious and stable are about the most positive things that can be said about Tsubasa's condition. She's finally been moved to a regular hospital, and she's made sure to have someone tell Shinobu where she can be found. The general public has not been informed which hospital Tsubasa is staying in, and her room has not been marked very clearly as to the name of the occupant.
When word got to Shinobu, she did the best thing she could think of. She went out and bought some flowers, some sweets, and of course a get well soon card. This is the second time she's visited a friend in the hospital this month.
There is a somber attitude to Shinobu as she walks into the hospital. She has all the things with her and she doesn't really stop to ask for directions. This place brings a new sort of cold sensation to her. The knowledge that this place is potentially her final stop given that she is pretty much on a doom clock.
*Knock Knock Knock*
Shinobu pokes her head in and waves, "Hey Kazanari-san." She slips in revealing the different things she had brought for her.
Tsubasa doesn't even move her arm, just shifts her head to look at her visitor. "Kimura-san. Thank you for coming." She smiles, faintly. Her voice is weak, it's clear that whatever happened to her, it was not gentle, and that Tsubasa still needs time to recover. "We did it, right?" She seems like she half-doubts that it's true.
Shinobu Kimura walks in fully now, closing the door behind her for privacy sake. "Yes we did. Walpurgisnacht is dead. Talk about a nasty witch! I didn't think I'd ever have to burn an entire grief seed on one witch!"
She moves closer to Tsu and sets the flowers beside her as well as a box of chocolates, "I figured those would help you out a little. I know you like keeping your anonymity but, I don't like leaving friends stuck in a hospital."
"I wasn't sure we could do it, so I Sang. I'm sorry." Tsubasa apologizes for something, clearly that word has a special meaning to her, and then smiles when Shinobu tries to justify coming by and bringing gifts. "Kimura-san... if I hadn't wanted you to know where I was, you wouldn't. Why would I let you know where I am if I wasn't hoping you'd come?"
Shinobu Kimura smiles to Tsubasa and politely bows to her, "You're right. I'm not exactly a detective." She takes a breath and steps over to take her hand. "You have nothing to apologize for. It took everyone going all out to take her down. You did amazing." She smiles a little before giving a little squeeze to her hand and then pulling a seat closer to the bed. "I should be here as well. She knocked me for a loop when I built the bridge. I got a sand facial courtesy of the ocean and then the final blow, I used seasons finale but didn't plan on just how far I had to drop, broke my leg."
"Oh, right. You don't know what it means to Sing." Tsubasa sounds like she forgot that, an unusual lapse on her part, and looks at the sky, sighing. "By using my relic I can pull out a lot of power. There's a limiter to prevent me from hurting myself. When I Sang..." She doesn't finish the sentence, letting Shinobu figure out what happened there. "I'm glad you're alive."
Shinobu Kimura winces, "You severely hurt yourself." There is compassion in her voice as she looks at her friend on the hospital bed. "Homura-san, taught me something after the fight. She taught me how to use my magic for healing. She did it to you a bit. Its how I was able to walk in. Aside from setting the break, it was pretty much painless."
Shinobu reaches into her pocket and pulls something out. Something she just stares at for a moment. That something is a grief seed. Her last one. A simple nod is made and the seed is put back. A flare of viridian light comes off her ring and it vanishes, reforming into a bright viridian egg shaped soul gem. "I'm going to try to heal you some. Mind you I am new to the healing thing. I should probably power up though."
"Don't." Tsubasa objects, as strongly as she can manage in her current state. "You need that. I'll recover, I'm sure." She sounds like she's far more concerned about Shinobu than about herself. "How do you think I'd feel if you died because you spent too much magic trying to heal me?"
Viridian light flares are Shinobu henshins. Within moments she is in her puella attire. "You know, You have an amazing voice. This is the only time someone will say this to you. Shut up and let me work. How do you think I would feel if I let you rot in here? Besides I'm fine. I need to go hunting anyway."
The viridian soul gem ignites as Shinobu focuses, moving it slowly over the girl's body. Healing is the only thing she's doing so it's not burning through magic extremely fast but it is easy to see that the gem is getting a bit more cloudy.
"Fine." Tsubasa isn't in much of a position to stop Shinobu from doing whatever she likes, and the healing provided may not fix everything instantly, but it's soothing regardless. "Promise me that, when" not if "I get out here you'll take me hunting with you." She sounds like she isn't willing to take no for an answer.
Shinobu Kimura smiles as she continues using her magic to heal. A simple nod is given. "Of course. Always better to do that as a team. I've gone out once on my own. I ended up meeting this psychotic Puella Magi. She was breeding witches. She tried to fight me and was just stunned when she couldn't actually hit me."
Her soul gem just gets more cloudy.
Tsubasa looks at that soul gem worriedly. "That's enough." She sounds a little stronger, and a lot sterner. "If you keep at it I'll call security." One finger reaches out from below the sheets to hover above a little red button, "I mean it, Kimura-san."
Shinobu Kimura Stops for a moment, "Kazanari-san, I have a grief seed on me. I'm not going to let myself get too dark here. You're a friend and I would die for my friends but I am not going to die needlessly." She doesn't go right back to healing. "Your call. I can stop right here and use my grief seed. Or I can go on and use my grief seed. Both ways I will be down to about one more use."
"And I'm not going to let anyone die for me. Not..." Tsubasa chokes up and fails to finish that last bit, and after a moment to recover, she says quietly. "Go ahead then, but make sure you don't waste any more than that. Please." She removes her finger from the red button.
Shinobu Kimura nods and continues healing. She is doing her best. "Listen It's okay. You did what you felt you had to and you did amazing! You don't have to prove anything." She keeps going. After a few minutes, she stops, her Gem is noticeably dark. Not black like it had gotten during the big fight but dark enough. Idly she pulls out the grief seed and touches it to her soul gem. The darkness is pulled right out of the gem and it begins glowing anew.
"Kimura-san." Tsubasa sounds tired, serious but also somewhat... happy. "How long do you think I've been doing this?" She asks an important question, to her at least, and it's a leadup to something else. She watches the soul gem clear up, "How often do you think I've danced with death to protect people?"
Shinobu Kimura thinks a few moments as her soul gem flares and turns into her choker. "I don't know, You've got a good deal of experience and that means you've been at this a while. I am going to gamble over a year at least. I don't know the specifics of your type of magic so I can't make an accurate guess."
"I first activated my relic when I was five years old." Tsubasa says calmly and then goes quiet, allowing Shinobu the time to really think about how long it has been. How much of her life must have been focused on her mission, though after a few seconds she does add on. "This has been my life since."
Shinobu Kimura frowns and her jaw just drops. Her henshin breaks as tears form in her eyes. "You had your life stripped from you too early." She states and hangs her head. "When I was eight, my mom pushed me into martial arts. She didn't want me to be a victim. I guess that sorta ended my childhood."
"I don't mind, Kimura-san. I'm glad to be helping people." Tsubasa seems touched by the emotions, though unsure how to deal with them, at all. "Please don't cry. If it wasn't for that, I would never have met some of the people who are, or were, most important to me."
Shinobu Kimura shakes her head and the tears keep coming. "When I was eleven, I was blinded. For the past five years I couldn't cry. Now every tear is a joy." She frowns, "When the contract was offered to me, I thought it was too good to be true. Then I got a look at some of the fine print. Homura-san told me what I accidentally told you about. I don't know if I would have made the contract if not for the situation I was in. I would have been killed had I not made the wish. I accidentally stumbled into a labyrinth while running from some people who were trying to kill me and about everyone they seen."
Tsubasa looks extremely, extremely awkward. Entirely unsure of what to do, nothing in her training has prepared her for this kind of stuff, and eventually she just says quietly. "I'm sorry." She doesn't even know what she's sorry for, just that somehow it seems the right thing to say.
Shinobu Kimura shakes her head and wipes her eyes, "Nothing to be sorry for. I made my choice. I live with it." She smiles a little, "I got my vision back. That was my wish. I still see the way I do when I was blind. From what I was told It was because of my potential to be what I am that allowed me to see through magic. Even now I can see life energy and magic around me. It hurts my head a lot."
She smiles a little to Tsubasa, "Okay first off, Call me by my given name, Kimura is my dads name and if you knew him there is no way you'd call me it. Second, It sounds like you need a chance to just be a normal girl. Just because we can do awesome stuff doesn't mean we can't do fun stuff like go shopping or check out guys (Like Hinote)."
"I'm sorry, but I can't do that, Kimura-san." Tsubasa apologizes, closing her eyes. "I don't call people by their given names." There's a bit of pain in her voice there, clearly there is something more to that. "But I can go shopping with you some time, sure." She ignores the guys bit.
Shinobu Kimura smiles a little, "Alright, I won't push it. But you should know that my dad is a thief. It was his actions that blinded me in the first place. So you can blame him for me even being a Puella Magi." She's stretching and she knows it. "And sure! We can go shopping. We can hang out. We can pretend that we are just two normal girls who don't have a spot light chasing us. Me to a lesser degree then you."
"We will, I promise." Tsubasa sounds tired again, and sighs a little. "I'm sorry, but... I think I need more sleep, let my body recover." She smiles, turning her head slightly to look Shinobu in the eyes. "Thank you for coming by."
Shinobu Kimura smiles softly, "I look forward to it. You rest well. We got a hunting trip to get ready for after all." She stands and gives a polite bow. "See you soon." With that she turns and exits the room. Before the door is closed, There is a flare of viridian. No time to go hunting like the present.
