King Penguin Park is beautiful. This time in September, it's hit the fall season, and so the trees are starting to turn, and the flowers are reaching the end of their lifespan, but beautiful it is nonetheless. As it nears night time though, the weather grows slightly colder, so the park is nonetheless feeling slightly empty, but for people who don't mind the weather, it's a wonderful place to... exercise?
A young woman, in tennis shoes, mis-matched thigh highs, a pair of blue athletic shorts and a striped colorful tank top covered by a overly-large blue jacket is pacing the park at a light pace, her headphones down around her neck.
In the sky, admidst the dark, clouds start to gather. Was there a storm forecasted for today...?
Hinote was out of school and enjoying the nice day. It was cooling down. Soon it'd be winter. Ugh. He hated winter. It was so cold and gloomy and just ugh. But for now, that wasn't a problem. He was too involved in his inner thoughts to care too much about it, regardless---- thoughts of princesses and 'lost logia' and an awesome magical-like kingdom filling his head as recent as things were coming to a head.
He snaps out of his thoughts when a young woman runs by him and it reminds him he's out in the open. He blinks and looks towards the sky. Huh.
Was it supposed to rain? Mom usually bugged him about umbrellas otherwise.
Hinote gets a quick wave - Kouki is a friendly type, after all. She doesn't get past him very far though, when she stops, looking up into the sky. She frowns. Anyone magical - that is, Hinote and Kouki - can probably get the feeling that something is off about the storm that is rolling in, and she tilts her head uncomfortably. The cherry blossom trees shake in the wind briefly, before the air seems to drop dead in the general area, the thunderheads above increasing.
"... mmn. This isn't good."
She seems to be speaking to herself, and she lifts her head towards the sky. Deep in the mess of the trees by the shrine, two glowing yellow eyes appear, the gaze focused on the young woman nearby. Almost at the same time, a creature flies towards her at high speed, some sort of horse hybrid, made of rainbow, sparkling scales.
Hinote Kagari frowns storms outta the blue aren't a particularly good omen. Hinote's learned this much as his short time as a magical knight of some sort. Will it begin raining black feathers again? He seems to be expecting something to happen as he stands there looking up at the sky. He would do this, of course, after giving the girl a quick wave back.
"Shit, mom's gonna be mad at me if I come home soaking wet..." he looks off into the distance toward's Natt's acessories. Maybe they sell Umbrellas. He begins walking that way when---
Something rainbow and irridescant fills his view and leaps towards that girl!?
"WATCH OUT...!" he calls out.
Kouki wheels around at the shouted warning, while the creature stops, looking hurt as it flutters there in the air. The two figures stare at each other, then Kouki reaches out towards the creature.
"Niji, what are you doing out here?" She asks.
The creatures replies... perhaps not so shockingly. "I know you can feel the spirit, Kouki! You must protect yourself, and others!"
"Oy, we're not alone, Ni'..." The Kirin looks slightly ashamed, but then alights on her head.
"You can't help it now! It's going to try to kill you, whether you want it too or not!"
At the creatures words, from the cherry blossom trees creeps a large figure, bigger than both Hinote and Kouki, probably bigger than both of them standing on top of each other. A single large tree, it looks like, its roots grasping the ground and dragging itself towards the two teens standing there. It's gaping maw is open, and thunderclouds make the grey color if its' eyes. As it moves, so does the storm; it breaks over their heads, thunder crashing.
Kouki stares at it, horrified. "... Sekki..."
Hinote Kagari suddenly has some sort of weird braclet on his right hand, and it just sort of appears because he's pretty sure that girl just got attacked. By something. But the interaction doesn't seem hostile suddenly and they are... talking?
That's a weird creature.
Huh. The storms getting harder it seems.
Then he looks back to the trees on the side of the park.
And it's some sort of big tree creature. He blinks.
Okay now THAT thing doesn't look friendly or maybe it also wants to talk(!?) but Hino isn't particularly willing to take the chance.
"To Project Justice, I am Guardian Hino." he calls out as the gem on the bracelet glows to life. He gets covered in a pillar of flame, and then he's Guardian Hino when it's done. He looks like a fancy noble knight now.
He doesn't attack yet. Instead. He wants to see what that girl does. He doesn't particularly want to fly face first into a misunderstanding.
"... Huh." Kouki says, side-eyeing Hinote.
"Kouki...!" Niji demands.
"Oh, right!" She digs in her pocket, pulling out a brooch from the depths. It's simple, with the symbol for 'princess' on it.
"Let's go! By my royal decree!"
She twitches her hand, and the brooch floats in front of her. As her body starts glowing, two wooden tokens, one with a picture of a peach, the other with a picture of a chestnut, emerge from her chest. The brooch transforms, turning into a cylindrical contain known as the Kirin Rouleau. The tokens drop into the container, and she closes the top, pressing down on the switch. Clouds form around her frame, hiding her, before they explode into light, leaving her standing there. She wears what seems to be a floor-length white cloak, the front half which only covers down to her upper thigh, flashing sights of a sky-blue dress underneath it. She wears white boots with blue toes, a snowflake on each boot, and her long blue hair has gotten longer, with a silver crown on her head. There is a large cloud nearby, which she pulls apart, wrapping half of it around her neck, twisting the other half in a quick movement to form a small wand.
"The fire of the rising sun! Sorahi Otohime!"
The weather rumbles at the end of her words, and she waves her wand in the air - instantly, lightning roars, slamming down towards the tree creature.
"I'm not going to let you kill me today! You may be the seasons bringer, but I am the seasons creator!"
Guardian Hino watches that girl turn into a princess. He blinks once. Then he looks back towards the creature.
Okay, so this thing is trying to kill that princess. That's what he gathers from this. He huhs.
He raises his palm out, not drawing his sword yet as fire dances around his wrist then merge inwards towards his palm.
"IGNITION!" he calls out.
A bolt of flame flys out from his palm, flying towards the tree beast.
"What is this about?" he calls out to the princessy-looking girl.
"Long story made really short, spirit from my home world, wanting to kill me."
That is really short.
The fire impacts sharply, joining the burns that the lightning had caused. The creature roars, roots from it reaching out, aiming to grapple Sorahi and also to lash out at Hinote like a club, just swinging itself at him like it didn't really care about him too much. (That is probably going to change, though, as he makes himself a ... ally? of the princess.)
"Um, it's nice to meet you, anyways! Thank you!" Sorahi lifts her wand and waves it like she was a conductor, and the thunder clouds up above start to lighten... and the next thing that comes from them, instead of rain and lightning and thunder, is large, golf ball chunks of hail, that 'miraculously' avoid Hinote and Sorahi.
Guardian Hino lisens to Sorahi's words and blinks. Spirit from your 'home world' wanting to 'kill her'. This kind of makes him frown and think of another princess, but just for a moment before he grabs the hilt of his sword and seathes with the sound one excepts. Shinnnnnnnng!
He holds the blade by the flat as he points it toward's the beast....
"BURNING IGNITION!" he calls out. Fire travels from the tip of the sword, to the bottom into the gem on it's hilt, before it unleashes a large torrent of fire out from the gem at the creature.
"...Don't you have your own Guardian Knights...?" he asks.
Hino may be getting wrong ideas about magical princesses.
"... what are Guardian Knights?" Sorahi asks, puzzled. "I fight for my lands, with the advisement of Niji, the kirin you saw, who works as my advisor... which I'm repeating myself. I don't fight with anyone else but the other princesses of Quilen and anyone willing to help me."
The hail and even more fire impact down on Sekki, causing the tree to howl. The earth underneath them shudders, Sorahi nearly falling as it rears up to its' full height, godzilla-like in its' structure. One large tree-claw swipes down towards Hinote, threatening to slice him to ribbons, as Sorahi deals with a root around her leg, one that is dragging her towards the spirit creature.
Guardian Hino blinks. Well. That does sound a lot like how Runealy described her job- or at least, the Queen's job.... So maybe she doesn't need knights? Runealy was pretty desperate for help. Of course. Now all these thoughts about Runealy are filling his head and now he's kind of distracted.
Sol might have something about that crush thing going on maybe.
Luckily, Hino's able to focus again before his thoughts start gaining watercolor rose frames and shojou bubbles.
Hino leaps backwards and leans back as the thing trys to smack him. He comes skidding down a bit somewhere on grass.
Hino turns his attention to the root dragging Sorahi and his sword glows red before he swipes through the air, sending a wave of red-firey energy at it, to try to slice it from a distance.
"I see...." he says.
Hey now, Hinote, there's a pretty princess in front of you as well.
Hinote's sword blazes through the root wrapped around her ankle, and, from the ground, Sorahi waves her wand briskly, and the sky abruptly changes again, this time the clouds disappearing to reveal the fading sun. There's a long pause, before one of the sunbeams seems to become a spear, lighting down on Sekki - the tree spirit roars, rearing up on its' feet, before it takes off back into the cherry blossom trees.
Sorahi sighs from her spot on the ground, before making her way back to her feet, before curtseying deeply to Hinote. "I thank you for your assistance, knight of the ages! You have helped me today, but the creature will be back."
Guardian Hino jumps forward, but the beast is gone. He frowns.
Sorahi might be a princess. He is not the princess he's sworn to help. He is going to ask Runealy later if he should be doing this. He's not really sure of super particulars about the Guardian Oath.
He looks back to Sorahi and gives a sure of himself grin. "Guardian Hino. Knight of Justice. Actually." he says with a grin.
He pauses.
"Farewell."
Then he leaps into the treeline.
Sorahi giggles.
"Thank you!" She calls into the trees, once again, before she and her kirin advisor disappear towards the botanical gardens, for reasons.
