Zoisite is occupying a booth at Crown, waiting for Usagi to show up. He's fidgeitng with his hair, his phone, anything that comes to hand, trying to mask his nervousness. He takes a deep breath and settles his hands in his lap for a moment, closing his eyes.
There's a good assortment of both sweets and things meant for 'dinner', too. He doesn't have anything, but this is probably for the best. His stomach is feeling slightly sour.
She's really curious as to why Zoisite wants to meet her! Whatever the reason, good or bad, at least it comes with the offering of food!
She practicaly skips in, and before sliding onto her side of the table, she scoots onto his to give him a warm, squishy hug with a happy hum.
A few seconds later, she's across the table, eyes wide and focused like a predator at all the yummy food in front of her!
But wait...
Most of these are her favorite.
Suspicious Eyeballs!
"Whether I say yes or no, I'm still gonna eat all this food."
He shrugs and gestures widely. "That was kind of the point." At least she's smart enough to know when someone is trying to play her with her love of food.
Instead of playing with his hair, he puts his hands in his lap. "I think Mamoru probably mentioned this in passing, kind of..." he starts. Pauses. Flattens his hair with a hand.
"...Uh. There's not a good way to ask this- how do you feel about /sharing/ Mamoru with-- uh. More than just Kunzite?" He really ought to be able to master the awkwardness to ask it straight out, instead of crab-walking at it. He's dealt with Beryl, for pity's sake. What is Usagi going to do to him that /she/ didn't?
And that, really, is kind of the worst way to ask that. "Sharing? What is he, some sort of chewtoy?"
Hmph!
But of course, she's being silly, and knows she is and that that's not what he meant.
But what exactly does he mean?
She is a confused bunny at the moment. "...why?"
Zoisite makes a face. "...Under certain circumstances, he might be, if he's into that kind of thing." His cheeks are slightly, slightly red.
Being blunt is not Zoisite's strong suit. At all. He covers his face with a hand and then moves said hand up to his hair. "Sharing-- god damnit, Usagi, I mean sharing his time and affections because I might have maybe' gottenalittledrunkandtoldhimIlike'-likedhimawhileago." It comes out in a single breath, and Zoisite forces himself not to hide his face in his hands, or any other way of 'hiding' he really wants to do. Instead, he stares at Usagi. Stares.
Please don't kill him.
Usagi's face turns a bit pink along with Zoisite's. "I'm not telling you if he is or not!"
But still, she listens, and it takes a moment or twelve for her to translate Rushed Speaking.
Then a second or twelve more to comprehend.
And then her shoulders are slumping and she groans as she throws a fry at him. "Ug, Zoisite! I thought you were gonna tell me he wanted to date someone NotUs."
Zoisite blinks at her response, essentially ignoring the fry whacking against his head. "...so you're okay with it?" he asks. "And-- I didn't plan on asking you for hints, half of the fun would be figuring that kind of thing out on my own."
The strawberry blond looks relieved, and reaches over to steal a couple french fries from Usagi's plate with a crooked smile. "I was- kind of worried you'd take it bad."
She holds up her hands, eyes a bit wide. "Idon'twantdetails!"
She gives a bit of a sigh and straightens her shirt. "Though...this does mean Mamo-chan has more smoochie buddies than I do..."
Large, woeful eyes at Zoisite she doesn't actually feel for the most part.
He needs some payback for scaring her!
"I guess this means I getta flirt with you now, too. You know, since you flirted with Mamo-chan and all."
Usagi is a freaking force of nature. Even with what Zoisite is used to doing, and rolling with situations, Usagi always seems to throw a monkey wrench into the half-formed, nebulous plans he usually has lurking in the back of his head.
"...Sure. If nothing else, it makes a good excuse to drag you out clothes and makeup shopping," he says with a crooked smile. He has his phone out under the table, texing Mamoru with one hand.
Her eyes light up. "Really? Shopping? Yay!"
She decides to give this flirty thing a try!
But...well, she highly doubts sprawling across his homework and asking him to read her instead would work.
She sulks. "I just remembered. I dunno how to flirt with people not Mamo-chan. I don't even know how to flirt with Rei!"
Zoisite laughs. "I could probably teach you that one, too, coniglietta," he says with a grin. "Though I think the worst part of this arrangement will be for the prince." After all, Zoisite is more than sure whatever he teaches Usagi will eventually find its way to Mamoru. He rests his chin in his hand and smiles at Usagi, with a bit too much point to it.
She has no idea what that word means, but it sounds pretty and she's certain he wouldn't call her a bad name in another language!
She returns his smile, giving her best effort at a devious look of her own! "Good! Mamo-chan needs to be kept on his toes!"
Then curiosity wins over! She tilts her head to one side. "What does cuni...er, that word mean?"
Zoisite laughs. "It means 'rabbit' or 'bunny' in Italian," he offers. He pilfers a few fries more from Usagi, waving them airily before shoving them in his mouth. He leans over to tug lightly on one of her pigtails lightly with a smile.
"Awwww! And it's such a cute word, too!" She wiggles a little, happy at being called bunny in a new language! She wants to learn them all!
She lets out a little 'meep!' at the ponytail tug. Raspberry!
Zoisite blows a raspberry back and moves his hands back to himself with a rakish grin. "It is. Like you." And then he's stealing more fries, because his stomach is no longer acting like a warzone.
Usagi gasps! "Are you flirting with me?"
She's not sure which she'd be happier: If the answer is yes or that she can tell!
Zoisite smiles crookedly. "Mmmaaayybeee," he drawls, winking slowly at Usagi. Also known as yes.
Happy claps from Usagi! And wiggles! "Yay, I could tell!"
More wiggling as she starts in on more than just fries.
"I don't know how to flirt with you. But I'll find a way!"
"I look forward to it," Zoisite says, leaning back against the booth.
