It's a date! Kind of. Zoisite seems especially pleased with himself, most of his hair loose with just enough pulled back to keep it out of his face. Even though he's wearing a t-shirt and jeans, the way he is wearing them makes the simple, comfortable combination look like nothing so much as sin on legs. Maybe it's the touch of makeup he's wearing, making his eyes look more angular, more catlike.
More likely, it's the attitude he wears them with, the body language they accentuate. He's had more than a few people come up and flirt at him in passing, and he's let them all down the same way, with a comment that they're not who he's waiting on.
Where Zoisite possibly looks like sin on legs, Usagi looks...very much the fluffy bunny.
Short skirt, sure, but it's twirly! Strappy sandals, yeah, but they clip-clop when she runs. Make-up, of course! But it's more rosy cheeks and lip gloss rather than smoky eyes and lipstick.
And her top, where it would look sultry on others, on her it somehow screams 'It's summer and I can wear this, yay!'

A girl a few years older than Usagi and dressed more like someone all prowly is making her way to Zoisite. Usagi doesn't notice, because she's too busy zooming up! She latches onto his arm and giggles! "Yay! Hi! Sorry I'm late!"
There's a wave that somehow radiates 'sucks to be you' followed by Zoisite hugging Usagi. "It's fine. I figured we could go shopping for clothes and grab a snack or something." Because he totally doesn't need to ask Usagi if she's told Rei about arrangements with him. Totally.
"Did you know Kunzite is the biggest sap in all of creation? It's adorable," Zoisite says, without much preamble. He's deftly leading her toward a clothing store that is definitely not this district's usual fare at all, and a great deal more like a compromise between elegance and Usagi's adorable fluffy-bunny style.
Of course, if Usagi has had the opportunity to, she's likely forgotten to bring it up with Rei.
"Ohhhh, food and clothes! Two of my favorite things!"
She follows him, hands still around his arm, and she's looking up at him with wide eyes! "Kunzite? A sap?" There's a moment where she practically vibrates with glee. "Eeeee! I knew it! What happened?"
She wants details!
Inside the store, she surveys the terrain with a critical eye, giving the sales rack a once over, seeing shimmers of possibilities there, and around at the different styles.
Zoisite laughs at Usagi's curiosity, and he ruffles her hair slightly. "Well, he kissed me, and not just a little one, either." There's a fond, wistful smile on his face as he recounts this.
"Speaking of other people we're with- have you asked Rei if she's okay with you flirting with me?" His tone is light and easy as he looks over the clothes in the store, paying only cursory attention to the sales rack.
He walks over to one rack and picks a dress up, looking between Usagi and it with a critical eye.
"Eeeee!" Happy squees! She shakes his arm all happy!
And then she gasps and slaps her forehead! "Ohhhh I knew I was forgetting someone!"
While he has a critical eye on the dress and her, she pulls out her phone and texts Rei.
TXT: Is it okay if I flirt with Zoisite?
The response didn't take long.
TXT Rei: ummm i guess so I mean it's poly, but shouldn't you be asking mamo that? i thought you weren't dating other boys.
TXT: Eep! Not dating, flirting! I threatened to because he wanted to flirt with Mamo-chan and he kinda agreed to it. I just wanted to make sure it was okay with you before I did it <3
She looks up from the phone and notices the dress. Her face goes very pink. "There's no back on that!"
TXT Rei: Oh! Well. Yeah that's fine.
TXT: <3 <3 Also, we're shopping atm. I'll keep an eye out for things that scream Rei!
TXT Rei: Okie! Have fun! hugs and kisses!
TXT:I will! Snuggles and smooches!
And again her focus is on the dress. "Isn't it a bit...more adult than I am, though?"
(And of course, the afternoon will be smattered with Usagi and Rei texting cutesy <3's and xoxoxoxo's at each other, as per the norm.)
...Well, there's that solved. Zoisite laughs a little at the pink face. "What kind of awful friend would I be if I didn't encourage you to wear things that would make Mamoru drop whatever he's got handy when he sees you in it?" he asks in an arch tone. "Plus, compared to a lot of things around us? Tame. Super tame."
Granted, it's still more on the elegant side of things, less than 'racy'. Zoisite does not encourage Usagi being dressed like the average denizen of the Neon District... or any of the youma he saw in the Dark Kingdom, for that matter.
She chews her lip for a moment.
Well, making Mamoru drop things is a lot of fun...
"Okay, I'll try it on. But if it makes me look like I'm playing dress-up in Mama's clothes, you gotta be honest!"
At least it isn't made mostly of belts and straps.
She needs to add this to a List of Things Usagi Isn't Comfortable With.
"I don't wanna wear things made mostly of straps and buckles, though!" She waves her hands, just in case he likes wearing them! "It's just not my style! And it'd take forever to put on!"
Zoisite laughs brokenly. "Hell no! You would look like you fell through someone else's closet-- or like a joke." He shakes his head, laughing at the absurdity of the image of Usagi dressed up like that.
Of course it's not made of mostly belts and straps. He's going for something elegant, but still suitable to Usagi. If it looks like something Ikuko would wear, he will cut his hair off.
She relaxes completely at that and beams up at him. "Okay, good! Ummm...anything else not quite me but me enough?"
She knows what she's comfortable with, at least!
And of course, as they discuss this, she's keeping an eye out for Rei Things and, of course, Zoi Things.
(Only problem is, of course, there's a sad lack of cherry blossom motifed clothes for boys.)
Zoisite prowls a bit, picking a few more items here and there and offering them to Usagi. "Here, try these, too."

She adds the items to her growing armload, having scouted a few pieces she likes here and there.
A small squee as she pulls out a top from the women's section, but of a style that can be worn by either, if done right. Light, floral, very cherry blossomy. "Here~!"
