It's early evening, and Sailor Mercury is out on patrol. It's quiet so far, thankfully, letting Mercury mull over some news she'd learned recently. She frowns softly, perched on top of the Aquarium. She gazes out over the water for a moment, before turning back toward the city and considering her next location to look over.
Sailor Mercury would immediately see Life Witch Joy flying over towards her on her broomstaff. "Hey, Mercury," she says in her clear and bright voice, floating down to hover next to her. "How's it going?"
Mercury smiles and looks up at Life Witch Joy. "It's pretty good so far, Joy. How are things with you tonight?" And she moves to a higher spot, closer to Joy.
Joy smiles back and nods. "Not too shabby myself!" She gazes over the water, and points at a nearby pier. "I was just thinking, that right there was where I had my first encounter with a youma last year, a couple months before I could transform." She shakes her head and smiles. "Man I feel like I've come so far since then."
Mercury breaks into a huge grin. "You have," she says, settling in to chat with her fellow Mahou. "I'm glad you have. You're doing amazingly, Joy, and I'm proud to know you."
Miho giggles. "Yeah, yeah ..."
She looks over the water. "Man. I'm almost getting philosophical, kind of thing. It's like ..." She shrugs. "I've lived in Tokyo for a year and a half, and it almost feels like forever? And now I'm a magical girl with her own arch-nemesis, and also I have a girlfriend, and, like." She smiles at Ami. "Really, the feeling is mutual, pretty much." A slight pause. "Except for the part where you've been doing it longer than me."
Mercury chuckles. "Well, we all grow," she says with warmth. "It's important to know that. And you can be proud of me! It's good to know someone is." And she is a little blushy, even, glowing.
That gets another bashful giggle out of Joy, and she stretches. "There's still stuff I haven't figured out how to deal with yet, like the whole Noroiko business," she says. "But I mean. That's just taking stuff one step at a time I guess. It hasn't been a huge problem." She looks at Mercury. "I 'unno, anything been going on on your end of things?"
Mercury shrugs. "Nothing directly. I've heard of stuff going down with Dream Defender Ariel, though. And I've been tapped to help a new magical-girl-to-be, or something. I'm not sure what's up there, even still," she admits. "Sweet girl, though."
Miho raises her eyebrows. "I'll have to ask Lacchan about the first part, next chance I get," she says. "Couldn't even begin to tell you how to deal with the second, though, oh well."
Sailor Mercury nods. "I'm sure she'd appreciate any support. I haven't seen her. I should reach out," she murmurs. "I've been remiss." And then she shrugs. "Like I said, sweet kid. But as much as I want to help, I'm... not the most socially adept. I feel like I should hand her off to someone else, but that also feels wrong. Augh I don't know."
Miho puts a hand on Ami's shoulder. "Hey, don't sweat it," she says. "If you need help, you need help." She grins. "I was never that big on magical girl shows, but like, lending or finding helping hands is practically what it's all about, right?"
Sailor Mercury grins. "True enough." She places her hand over Miho's, giving a gentle, friendly squeeze. "Thank you. I don't know who to ask, but I'll find someone!" She nods, once.
Joy smiles and nods, floating back again. "In the meantime," she says, "any ideas on where to patrol next? I didn't have any ideas of my own, I just sorta wandered over here because I was feeling, y'know, nostalgic and all that."
"I don't know," Mercury says. "Maybe toward Clover Tower. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic myself, now," she says with a bit of a grin. "But, you'd get there faster than me."
Joy chuckles. "Hey, I can keep the same pace as you!" she says. She gestures southwestward. "After you, then!"
Sailor Mercury laughs and nods, heading that direction. She jumps from rooftop to rooftop.
