A trio of boys walk by Hanasaki flowers, chatting about various things. Eventually, the discussion turns to the topic of one of the assignments their teachers gave them over the winter break: A book report.<br /><br />One of the three begins to fall slightly behind the other two as the topic turns, and suddenly one of the boys in front turns to him.<br /><br />"Isamu, why haven't you been talking?" one of the two now-leading boys asks. "How's your book, is it any good? Have you finished your report?"<br /><br />Isamu looks down. "I haven't really... started or picked a book." he admits.<br /><br />The other boy in front turns to him. "But if you don't start soon, you might not get done. The books are pretty long."<br /><br />And then they pass by a man. A strange man wearing a dark green coat, with a cane in his hand and a black top hat - which appears to have antennae on it. He's leaning on the cane and a street lamp at the same time, as though actually walking is just too much. And he pipes up. "Oh, why bother with nonsense like that. You can always do it later." he says to the boy. "Or, not at all!"<br /><br />Isamu looks at the man. "But if I never get it done I'll get a bad grade."<br /><br />The man looks out from under his hat with his yellow eyes. "So? School is too much effort, too." he adds. "But I'll help you. Soon you won't have to do anything anymore." he says, rising off the street lamp and pointing his cane at the boy. "Just sleep!"<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"LET THE FUTURE REFLECTED IN THE MIRROR TURN TERRIBLE!" he shouts, and suddenly red ribbons tie the boy into a coffin shaped mirror where his eyes droop and shut.<br /><br />"COME OUT, TERRIBAD!" he shouts! And the mirror erupts into a towering youma with a bookbag on its back and a pen in its hand like a sword.<br /><br />"There, now I have someone else to cause trouble, and I can take a nap." The terribad begins to suck energy from the area (and the now-unconscious people) - and in the process, cover the world in mold. Namakelder, for his part, starts napping, leaning against the pole.<br> <br>

:'''{{#var:85|Amu Hinamori (85)}} has posed:'''<br><span></span>"Amu-channnnn!" comes a whine from the direction of the swings. Amu Hinamori is busy doing her own reading assignment. She's promised herself she can play as soon as she's done reading just one more chapter, but her charas are already way ahead of her. "Push us on the swiiiiiiiing," cries Ran unhappily. Ran, Miki, and Su are all lined up on the same swing, hoping Amu will come and save them from torpidity.<br /><br />Amu, meanwhile, looks wholly unimpressed. "I have to finish this chapter before I can play," she tells her Charas frustratedly. "Why don't you go down the slide, or something," she waves them off, and goes right back to her reading.<br /><br />It's not five seconds later that Ran cries again, "Amu-chan, I--"<br /><br />"--Ran!" Amu cuts her off with a glare. "I swear, if you don't stop distracting me, I'm going to find a convenient toilet to flush you down!"<br /><br />"But Amu-chan, I sense something bad!" Ran protests.<br /><br />"What, like an X-Egg?"<br /><br />"No, it's something else," Ran says, and then she gasps in surprise and points at the terribad as it begins to grow and grow.<br /><br />"Amu-chan," Miki chimes in, zipping up towards Amu.<br /><br />Amu turns and looks over her shoulder, then gasps in surprise. "Miki, let's go," she says, then makes a shadowbox with her fingers over the lock dangling from her neck. "Atashi-no-kokoro: Unlock!"<br /><br />Amu is subsumed by a brilliant golden light that makes it nearly impossible to see her through the brilliance. Miki tips her cap and whirls once, and a little blue egg floats out of Amu's pouch and closes around the little chara. Within the light, Amu holds out her arms, and the egg floats towards her, then merges into her chest. Ribbons of blue swirl around her, and enwrap Amu in the outfit of, "Chara Nari: Amulet Spade!"<br /><br />Amulet Spade leaps the distance towards the terribad with an oversized paintbrush in hand. Her two remaining charas give chase, flying after Amu in case she needs their help.<br /><br />"Go get them, Amu-chan!" Ran calls, waving little pink pom-poms.<br /><br />"Hey, big guy!" Amulet Spade calls to the Terribad. "How about you go back to whatever it is you were doing before this all happened, and stop making a mess of things!"<br> <br>

She just looking around admiring the shops and wondering if she should get a warm drink on this nice day.. Then she hears someone shouting a bit further up the street. "What's going on??", she pick up her pace and spots the youman. "Great... Time to get to work!", she ducks into a conviently place alleyway and henshins! <br /> "You better stop what you are doing Youma or face the wrath of the Axe Knight!", The Axe Knight says pointing her huge axe (Thought it more like a polearm! at the youma!<br> <br>

Ugggggggghhhh--- she was going to be ill from all this working out- but she had to be in tip top shape if she was going to be in the Kickboxing Club this upcoming school year. Tenth Grade! There's a crash as mold begins to cover the world.<br /><br />"Rollin' Mirror Change...!"<br /><br />&lt;Time to Change~&gt;<br /><br />There's a transformation sequence here. There's a green heart-- and--- a pose with wings being made by her hands. That she brings up---- "The wings of hope that soar across the sea--- Cure Gull!"<br /><br />Corvus lands on her shoulder.<br /><br />Cure Gull has met two of the Oresky Trio-- by process of elimination---- this must be Namakelder, right?<br /><br />"The Phantom Empire won't be allowed to turn happiness into misfortune here today!" she calls out pointing at the fancily dressed gentleman.<br /><br />"Amulet Spade!" she calls out. "That's a Terribad! ---we need to purify that thing but we need to weaken it first!" she calls out.<br /><br />She spins the dial on her Lovely PreBrace--- "Gull Feather Storm..." she calls out--- raising her hand suddenly----<br /><br />Then a bunch of energy feathers escapes from the postion she just waved her hand through--- aiming to blast into the Terribad suddenly hard and fast--- as he tries to get closer.<br /><br />"The Pen is mighter than the sword!---unless..maybe...it's also... a pensword...." she says.<br /><br />"I dunno where I was going with that quip." she admits more lowly.<br> <br>

He turns and looks at her from underneath his top hat, his eyes still a little droopy. "What is that dreadful ''sound!''" he asks, before looking at her. "This isn't your business. You should go home and take a nap." Namakelder says, sounding exasperated and exhausted.<br /><br />When the Axe Knight shows up, he just sighs. "I can't even have a little break. This is what I get for doing my job - a whole lot of loud annoyances."<br /><br />And then there's Cure Gull. Namakelder's hand - the one not resting on his cane - moves up, finds his face, and slowly drags down it. "Oh, a pretty curbbeblere." he says, mumbling the name as his hand does so. "Well you're already turning my comfortable sleeping happiness into misfortune, so why don't you just let me return the favor, you annoying littl-" He is actually cut off, because he was trying to talk over Cure Gull's directions to Amulet Spade - and the Gull Feather Storm is blasting into the area. It does push the Terribad and Namakelder back a little bit.<br /><br />"Oh come on!" he says as some of the mold the Terribad has created is also thrown into the sky making for a very fuzzy snow effect. "Well now there's more of you than me and that's a good excuse as any for me to call my... KINDABADS, GET EM!" he shouts, making a gesture with his cane.<br /><br />A couple dozen smaller youma, all black with white belts and red glasses swarm out of the nearby alleys (including the ones the two girls used to transform) and move in on all three of them, the much weaker youma aiming to overwhelm the girls in a flurry of light punches and kicks.<br> <br>

"But before we can do that we need to thin out this herd," she calls back to Cure Gull.<br /><br />Amulet Spade has no problem working on thinning the herd. She slams the butt of her paintbrush into one of the kindabads, then whirls it around her like a bo-staff to slap another on the other side. Like a graceful dancer, Amulet Spade begins putting on a performance to the sound of 'thock', 'whack', and 'swoosh', sending Kindabads scattering in all directions with efvery hit.<br> <br>

"Same---wide attacks!" She calls out.<br /><br />"GULL WINDY HURRICAUNE!" she calls out as she thwips her hand skyward against----- wind rushing out around her and into the kindbads- trying to catch them and fling them up into the air along the hurricaune to catch them there.<br /><br />This seems to mostly work.<br> <br>

And the horde does get thinned out by their combined actions - and then, the rest of them jump up, intending to come down with foot and fists and feet on the trio - this turns out to be a very bad idea, because Gull Windy Hurricane is coming, and only results in them grouping up nice and easy for it in the sky.<br /><br />The Kindabads are not much of a threat if you deal with them correctly. But what they have done is provdided a distraction... Which Namakelder has used to get to the roof of a nearby building, build up a pile of moldly fluff, and is now half-asleep on it like a pillow.<br /><br />"Good job, but it's time for the..." he yawns. A rush of energy emerges from the brush and spills outwards like paint from a toppled can, engulfing the moldy ground and rushing towards the Terribad with the full magical weight of Amulet Spade's power.<br> <br>

She calls out.<br /><br />She makes to try to push off the Terribad as she sort of sweatdrops at Vespa. "Right...! Axe Knight!" she insists.<br> <br>

Amu jumps over the oversized bookbag, though, and unleashes a burst of paint that makes the ground slick - slick enough that, with the Terribad's divided attention, even though the bookbag does make contact with Cure Gull, the slick surface is enough to make the Terribad fall flat on its butt with the impact.<br /><br />Namakelder leans over slightly. And giant wings explode towards the Terribad, flying through the heart-shaped center of the Open Heart - glowing rainbow colors as if empowered by it.
