Cast of Characters: 195, Hokuto Minase

Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi was sitting alone in the library, a few books spread out in front of her. She had no practice today(miracle of miracles) and her club had gotten out early. She had a few hours before she really had to go home and she'd already eaten her food(dried prunes, saueteed mushrooms, grilled chicken and an orange for dessert).

Now she was studying. And likely getting a few looks. Namely due to the fact her books were a bit advanced for her. Pre-algebra, things like that. That and quite a few of the student body knew her. A famous idol and all was hard to not notice. A few had the courage to approach her, though most tended to just look on from a distance. Externally she didn't seem to notice.

But internally? Oh, she reveled in the attention. They -adored- her and she enjoyed every second of it. Occasionally she'd hear an older student mumble about how they wished they had a little sister like her and it just made her smile get a little wider.
Hokuto Minase has posed:
And it's the sound of soft footsteps that catches the attention first, as someone walks up to the book-engrossed young idol. Hokuto has escaped from her Archery club practice, one of the juniors who'd annoyed her undertaking the cleanup under the watchful eye of the club president. She'd headed for the library to pick up a book when she spotted Sumire sitting and reading.

"Good afternoon," she offers as she gets close, ignoring those who seem to lack the courage to approach the girl. Hokuto at least has the advantage of knowing better than to care about fame, after all.
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi finished drawing her last line, then glanced up. She turned her eyes towards the girl and...

There was just an odd way. The way the girl looked at Hokuto. As if, despite her youth, the young child had managed to completely focus on the other girl, ignoring all else to give her complete attention.

"Ah! Hello there, senpai. Is... um... there anything I can help you with?" she asked a bit nervously, with a very soft, shy smile, her eyes slowly diverting away a tad nervously. Though she still gave an odd impression of being completely focused on the other girl.
Hokuto Minase has posed:
"There might be," Hokuto agrees as she slips into a seat nearby, pausing momentarily to smooth her skirt. It's well known that she utterly despises the uniform, but she still wears it. Except when she can get away with something else. Apparently she's been yelled at about it recently, as she's ... accessorized... the jacket, with a couple of strips of material to make it resemble one of the uniforms from 'Space Battleship Yamato'.

"I caught your show the other night. Pretty impressive stuff. Was that song about the cat and the fiddle your own composition?" It's a nice simple softball question to start things off, the kind of thing Sumire probably gets all the time from the would-be student reporters and gossips.
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi nodded slowly, glancing over at the girl's uniform. It was... interesting, to say the least. Sumire never messed with hers. Though, she did have a tendency to try different jewelry. The necklace was always the same, but her earings, bracelets, rings, all of them had changed quite often, though she never wore too many. Just enough.

She, internally, preened a bit at that. The girl had seen her show? "Oh, no. That one was actually composed by one of my song writers. A miss Tanahara," she said. Wow, she even knew who WROTE her songs? "I-I ummm.... have never really had much talent for writing my own songs. I've only written a handful," she said sheepishly. "The last one I wrote was shattered jewel..." A sad song, but had been quite popular. Not the best work, though. Nothing truly spectacular.
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Hokuto nods. "That one was okay... I don't like sad songs, though." She shrugs. "It doesn't really seem to suit your voice that well, either." Okay, enough knocking on it. "You working on anything now? Or just school stuff?"

She leans back in her seat, straightening up. Proper Posture, after all. Her teachers have harped on that topic for years. So have her foster-parents.

"Have to admit, it was interesting to see they let you step out of the usual frills-and-ribbons young-idol mode, though. That was an interesting outfit." It's what she was really interested in, after all. She did enjoy the music, but the usual idol fashions... well. Given what she's wearing now, it's no surprise that she'd have issues with them.
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi blinked a few times. Managed to NOT glare at the girl for bad mouthing her song. Though, internally, she was a tad annoyed. Who was this girl? That was HER song. SHE had made it. SHE was wonderful and a gosh darn delight and how dare this... this person say it didn't suit her voice. "Oh? What songs do you prefer of mine? And indeed, school work. I have an assignment due in about two weeks and I'd like to finish it ahead of time." ... Two weeks ahead of schedule. Eesh.

Her posture, of course, was perfect.

"Oh? i am quite fond of it. I've always absolutely adored angels." Of course, it also led to 'idol plotlines', where she and this other idol who wore a demon costume were constantly at ends and had had a few 'on screen' fights. Which was usually sumire getting yelled at, giving her the more vulnerable 'protect me' vibe, while the other girl had a 'I'm tough and will fight you!' vibe.
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Well, it's true. She doesn't like sad songs. "Well, going by songs you've sung," she demurrs, since she doesn't know which other ones Sumire actually wrote herself. "I have to say I rather liked 'Mikasa Memories', and 'Southern Star' was very good." Okay, maybe 'Mikasa' was a little bittersweet, but 'Southern Star' was upbeat and peppy and generally one of those songs that gets people up and dancing. There's definitely something in common, though, both of them can be read as someone standing up for what they believe in, no matter who gets in the way.

"It's certainly an interesting image," she agrees. She's seen the 'angel/demon' fight scenes too, and would probably talk about them if Sumire brought them up, but she hasn't. "This was one of your best, I have to say."

She fiddles with a notebook, brief glimpses of a sketch visible - hard to tell just what it is, yet.
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi blinked a few times, then smiled. "Oh, you like those kinds of songs, then? You have such interesting tastes. I'll be honest, Southern Star is one of my favorites too. I always love singing it and all of the backup dancers are just so talented."

She blushed demurely, lowering her gaze. "M-my best? W-well, I-I had a really good support staff. I never, ever could have done half as well if not for them. They work so very, very hard for me..."

She give a small smile. "I am happy you enjoyed yourself..."
Hokuto Minase has posed:
"The costumes were pretty good, too." Hokuto smiles and holds out a sketchpad, showing a few images of some of the outfits the dancers wore in that particular show. "You have some very talented costume designers working with you."

The sketches are fairly well-done, as well - she seems to have a bit of talent with it. "You certainly looked like you were enjoying yourself singing it."
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi glanced off to the side. "I... I do very much enjoy it. I'm so very fortunate to have such wonderful people working with me. All of them are so kind and compassionate and help me succeed. I could never, ever do this on my own. It'd be far too difficult," she said with a small smile. Bah, she could have done it by herself and she knew it. But that wasn't what her 'persona' believed.

"Oh? These are so nice! You're really talented as well!"
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Hokuto grins warmly, nodding as she listens. "I've always had an interest in the wild and fun costumes you see in these kind of things... If if weren't for the family business, I'd probably go into fashion design myself." She smiles a little wider.

"How much input do they let you have, in the costume area? Some of the things I see other idols wear... well." Yeah. Some of them are ... more than a little outlandish.
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi blinked a few times. "I've never really asked. I have no talent for such things, so I let the professionals do whatever it is they wish to do, and follow their orders," she says with a smile. "I can identify a good style, though, but could never design them myself. Sometimes they'll allow me to choose from different outfits for a show, though."
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Hokuto nods. "Have they ever given you something you really didn't want to wear?" She flips to another page in the sketchbook, it's one of the outfits you've seen on another idol's shows, rather risque by the look of it.

"Sometimes I wonder just who runs these things... there's got to be something weird going on in their heads."
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi blinked and then her cheeks turned red and she looked away. "O-oh. Oh dear. Oh my. W-why... I-I'd never wear something like that! M-my parents would be furious if they even suggested such a thing!" She had to cover her face with her hands, such a gentle soul.

Ew ew ewwww, what is this creep? Why is she showing her things like THAT? Is she some kind of pervert?!
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Hokuto nods, and rips it out of the sketchbook, crumpling it into a ball. "Good. I wouldn't want to wear it either, it's just.... ugh." She shakes her head. "Okay, then, forget I even brought it up. Shouldn't have, really." She sighs a little.

"Some people can be really, really, stupid, Tenshi-san. Like costume designers." She turns to another page. This one's clearly based on one of your costumes, but spruced up a little, the colors tweaked a bit. "This is more the kind of thing I'd want to make."
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi nodded, glancing to the picture and... "Please... don't leave such things like that laying about. Why would you even draw something like that?" she asked, clearly shaken. "I... ummmm..." She obviously wants to leave now, but is too polite.

Yeah, costume designers are idiots alright. She has have a mind to tear the girl a new one. But her persona wouldn't do that. It might cause rumors.

"Oh? That's so pretty! It's far nicer than the... other one."
Hokuto Minase has posed:
"Just for contrast, really. I'd certainly never wear something like that myself." She stuffs the wadded-up paper in a pocket, then hmms softly. "So, you like this one, hm?" She turns the page again, and this time it's a completely new outfit. "I do, too. And this one." It's somewhat loosely based on one of Minmei's costumes from 'Macross', if Sumire would recognize such a thing. "I'm not going to get the chance to do it full-time, so right now it's a bit of a hobby for me."
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi nodded, blinking. "Oh? You're a hobbyist, then? Perhaps in the future you'll even be doing one of my shows," she offered with a small smile. Trying to be encouraging. Though internally she's still quite untrusting of this girl. "Oh, it's... nice," she says gently, obviously not as pleased by it, but always super polite.
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Hokuto nods. "I like it, but it isn't really my style." She shrugs. "So far I haven't really made any of these. I've copied a few costumes from movies and anime and the like... even tried making a copy of Sailor Moon's dress, but that didn't - well, anyway." She taps the 'accessories' on her uniform blazer. "It's fun for annoying the Herberts on staff here, for one."
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi nodded a few times. "Uh... huh. Sailor moon? She's one of those anime people, correct? I'm afraid I don't really see many of those." Or any, really. She barely even watches television aside from the occasional news report while she's in the studio, waiting for something. Sailor moon wasn't really in her target.
Hokuto Minase has posed:
"Eh, some people say she's real, but nobody's proven anything yet." Hokuto shrugs again. "Michiko over in Middle 2-B claims a Sailor girl saved her from a monster, but... well." Michiko has a reputation for storytelling. Most people think she's going to be writing her own anime in a few years.
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi nods. "Uh huh. Well... if that's what she believes, why ruin her fantasies? Some people really like those kinds of things. Perhaps there's a good reason she needs to believe that?" she said with a smile. "I'm afraid I couldn't say one way or another. I've never heard of any moon sailors. It sounds like an old myth."
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Hokuto shrugs again. "Like I said, I've never seen any proof, just sketches and blurry photos that could be anything." She waves a hand at the sketch. "Still, it's a cute outfit... not anything I'd wear in public without a longer skirt, but." She chuckles softly and turns the page. This one's another variation on one of your costumes - the one from 'Southern Star', as a matter of fact. "This one, though... a little cleaning up and it's a great one."
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi blinked a few times. and tried not to twitch. Then she realized she meant the drawing needed to be cleaned up. "I see. Well, I think you can do it just fine. You seem to have an exceptional talent, Minase-sempai," she says with a gentle smile.

Oh my gosh please don't show me anything else creepy, girl. Why do these fans approach me? I LIKE the normal ones, ugh. At least it's not a maid outfit, she thinks to herself.
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Hokuto smiles lightly. She'd certainly had no intention to creep the girl out. But that sort of thing happens when you just can't bring yourself to give a darn about popular sensibilities. "Thanks, Tenshi-san. I'd wanted to ask if you minded me actually trying to make a copy of it... mostly to annoy the family with, but I might hit a convention or two."
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi cocked her head to the side. "Oh. I don't see why not. As long as you don't try to break any laws or do something improper with it, I don't see a problem with you cosplaying as me. That's quite flattering, miss."
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Hokuto's smile widens, warm and sunny. "Thank you, Tenshi-san. I much appreciate it. I shall be sure to remember that I owe you a favor, if ever you find the need to collect on it." She makes a few notes on the sketch. "Definitely got more class than most of the trashy designers out there... whoever came up with this one, you keep them around."
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi nods. "My agent does those jobs. But usually the costumes are assigned by the record group or the main host of whatever event I'm attending. I do have a few personal ones, but they only work with me on very, very special projects," she said with a nod, giving the other girl a small smile.

"But thank you for your kind words. However, I do have some matters to attend to. if... you don't mind?"
Hokuto Minase has posed:
"Not at all, not at all. They must keep you incredibly busy, I hear horror stories about the kind of schedule some idols keep..." Hokuto gets to her feet, tucking the sketchpad back in her bookbag. "Thank you for the time you were able to spare."
Sumire Tenshi has posed:
Sumire Tenshi nods. "Of course. Perhaps we can meet again another time, Minase-sempai," she said before getting to her feet, taking her books and walking off.

On one hand, her studies had been thrown off a bit AND the girl had shown her that creepy picture.

On the other hand, the girl had been interested in Sumire's favorite topic. Herself. So all in all, not a bad encounter.
Hokuto Minase has posed:
Hokuto turns to go, her mission accomplished. Stage three of plan: Annoy the heck of of Cousin Suzumi is underway. She allows herself a little spring in her step as she walks to the bus stop, lingering to savor the joys of the day. And to feed the despised sketch to a passing dog. Ewww, dog slobber.
