Synopsis: | Naru and Kazuo catch up about the race in Australia, and about English practice ... and ... television. Possibly distressing television. This is not what makes Kazuo's brain go ow. |
Cast of Characters: | Naru Osaka, Kunzite |
- Naru Osaka has posed:
<PHONE> You text Kazuo Takeba: I haven't been for a run since the race. (I'd be more concerned if I hadn't done anything, but there's been bike rides, and a swim still). Wanna join me on a run tomorrow morning?
- Kunzite has posed:
<TXT> Happily. I haven't heard details, by the way. How did the flights go?
- Naru Osaka has posed:
<TXT> Flights were long and boring (And I got an aisle seat on the way back, so only irritated the flight attendants moderately by standing and moving a lot). Race went well. Really well.
- Kunzite has posed:
<TXT> Merely moderate irritation must have been a pleasure for them. How well is really well?
- Naru Osaka has posed:
<TXT> Top 5 in my age group. (And I /think/ youngest competitor as there was no youth races at this one)
- Kunzite has posed:
<TXT> Very well done. Clearly you have both excellent drive and excellent motivation.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
<TXT> I was pleased. My main goal was to finish, finishing well was a stretch goal. Finishing very well.. I'll take it. I'm glad I understand enough English to be able to hear the announcer calling my finish too. (Also.. Australia would be really hard without any English, and no one laughed at my accent)
- Kunzite has posed:
<TXT in English> I suppose we should keep in practice.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
<TXT in English> Cruel. Writing harder than reading. Or speaking. Or listening.
- Kunzite has posed:
<TXT> If you were anyone else, I'd suspect this was a pitch for watching subtitled American television.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
<TXT> Televison.. I might try watching some of that now that I'm not obsessively training for a race. Or I could art instead.
- Kunzite has posed:
<TXT> Or combine the two. Though attempts to art a working television might be another item to treat with caution. Being the first person to watch a show is undoubtedly a privilege, but generally we prefer them to have been filmed on this planet.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
<TXT> You know, I've never tried doing animation beyond my little moving drawings. Not true animation.
- Kunzite has posed:
<TXT> Interesting. Is it something you have in mind to try?
- Naru Osaka has posed:
<TXT> I've never really had much of an urge, but it's one of those that I likely will at some point, avoiding something I'm supposed to be doing. Also.. drawing for anime (or manga) is one way to not starve as an artist.
- Kunzite has posed:
<TXT> A way to not sleep, I understand, but also not starve.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
<TXT> I've also heard that. Fortunately I dont need to sleep as much as most normal humans, but I can't say as I'm rushing out to work for a sweatshop studio either. I'm more likely to be a housewife to my best beloved than that.
- Kunzite has posed:
There ensues a silence that may be Kazuo being interrupted, or may be Kazuo attempting to reconcile 'Naru' with 'housewife.'
- Naru Osaka has posed:
She'd be a fine housewife! Kinda.. right until she leaves a note saying 'gone to Australia again, there's supper in the freezer.'
