Hospital Encounter
Date of Scene: 13 February 2016
Location: Mitakihara - Mitakihara General
Synopsis: Togo-san runs into one of her idols at the hospital. Might this be the start of a friendship?
Cast of Characters: Mimori Togo, Tsubasa Kazanari

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
The news had said Tsubasa Kazanari had been injured helping out with a humanitarian effort during the freak storm. It hadn't said which hospital she was recovering in, Tokyo has many of course, and the hospitals involved were being singularly to the effort of the news to find it out.

As such, it may come as a surprise to people to come across the blue-haired idol leaving physical therapy in a wheelchair, pushing herself along slowly. She looks tired, but then, she apparently just got done with physical therapy. A nurse bows to her, before leaving her to her own business. The girl starts wheeling towards an elevator.

Mimori Togo has posed:
A patient who isn't terribly uncommon is here for a slightly different reason! Mimori Togo has come today for a quarterly checkup and, after having left the doctor with a smile, has begun wheeling down the corridor.

As she rounds a corner, she spots another girl doing the same, approaching the elevator from another direction. Togo gives a cheerful smile and a little wave, then reaches to push the elevator call button. "It looks like the physical therapists really worked you hard today!" Togo rests her hands in her lap and tilts forward in a slight bow. "I don't think I've seen you around here before. My name is Mimori Togo." Something about this girl seems familiar, though, and Togo tilts her head slightly, trying to remember why. "At least... I don't think we've met! Somehow I think I've seen you before, though."

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
Tsubasa visibly flinches when someone addresses her, turning her face to look at the other girl. "Tsubasa Kazanari." She introduces herself with an echo of the bow, sounding at least slightly reluctant to give her name out, but deciding she should anyway. "We're working hard to get me back walking regularly. If progress continues like it has I should be able to ditch the chair for crutches next week."

As the elevator arrives, Tsubasa goes in. She's making sure there's enough room for Togo-san to go in after her, and she decides not to bother with any commentary on the seeming familiar. "I just want to be done, honestly."

Mimori Togo has posed:
That flinch does not go unnoticed, and Togo is a little concerned... but she doesn't make mention of it for the time being. "Oh, that's wonderful to hear! You'll be back on your feet again. I'm sure you've been looking forward to that, right?" She clasps her hands together... then pauses and blinks. "...ah!"

Togo glances left. She glances right. Which does little, since they're the only ones inside an elevator. "I... I thought I recognized you. Um. I'm a fan of your music."

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"I have been, yes." Tsubasa agrees that she has been looking forward to it. "I made a stupid call and ended up below some rubble. Doctors said I'm lucky to recover as well as I do, and that it missed my spine." It's not accurate, but the lie flows so easily that it's easy to believe.

"Ah, always glad to meet a fan." Tsubasa sounds a little more tired when she says that, possibly not quite in the mood to deal with the kind of things that can happen when meeting fans. She presses the button to go to the floor her room is on, "Which floor did you need to go to, Togo-san?" She asks, trying not to be rude.

Mimori Togo has posed:
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Though I'm glad you'll recover." There's a sad look in her eyes for a moment, but she's soon back to smiling again. "Oh, but... I don't want to trouble you." Togo considers for a moment. It would be easy to lie, to say she's going to the same floor, but...

"Actually, I was on my way out. I only ran into you by chance." She'll let Tsubasa push the button, though, since the older girl is closer! "I get the feeling you'd appreciate some rest more than anything." One hand reaches up, scratching lightly at her cheek. "I do hope you recover quickly, though!"

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"Thank you." Tsubasa does notice the sad look, and there's a slight frown there, looking away guiltily. She seems to understand what that might mean, but unsure how to deal with it, and so she says nothing.

And thus the elevator goes up, instead of down, giving Togo-san a few more moments to spend with the idol. "You're not bothering me. It's just, uh..." She seems to take a moment to collect her thoughts. "There's a reason we're trying to avoid letting people know where I'm recovering. I can't deal with a media circus right now."

Mimori Togo has posed:
It takes a moment for Togo to realize that the elevator is going up. Oh. She'll have a few moments before getting off, then! It's... a little awkward.

"Oh? I.. I see!" togo perks up a bit at that, even raising her hand and adopting an extremely somber expression. "Not to worry! I promise not to tell anyone I know you're here!" She pauses for a moment. "Ah.. but that means keeping it secret from Fu-senpai and Itsuki-chan and Karin-chan and ... and Yuna-chan." Togo swallows hard. "B..but I promised! So I won't breathe a word that you're here."

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"You can tell them when I'm out of hospital. I'm sure the tabloids will cover that." It sounds like Tsubasa doesn't like the tabloids very much, this may not be very surprising. "I appreciate it." That sounds genuine, at least, and the idol turns to face Togo again. "It was nice meeting you, Togo-san." There's something weird in her voice, like she's saying more than she's saying, but it's hard to make out.

Then the doors open, and Tsubasa tries to maneuver past Togo-san, a little clumsily. She doesn't appear to be quite as used to moving with a wheelchair as she could be. "Could you move to the side a bit, please?"

Mimori Togo has posed:
"Oh, that's true." Togo clasps her hands together and giggles softly. "They're going to be jealous." The girl clears her throat softly. "Ah, sorry. Here I am getting all excited, and you just want to get some rest. I'm ashamed." She does indeed look apologetic as she lowers her head slightly.

"Oh, it was nice meeting you as well. Ah..." The doors open, and Togo nods, wheeling her chair to the side. "How's that?" Before Tsubasa leaves, though, she takes a breath. "Ah... Tsubasa... san. I know I'm a fan you just met, b..but if you want some company, just not to be alone... I don't mind. I know how it feels."

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
Tsubasa pauses halfway through the elevator's exit at Togo's offer. "I don't need--" She cuts herself off, and takes a deep breath. "It's appreciated, thank you." She doesn't quite say yes, but when she's outside the elevator she waits for Togo to follow along, which is probably the closest thing to it that's going to come.

She doesn't wait extremely long, heading for her room soon after, allowing Togo to either follow along or do her own thing, whichever she chooses. The hospital bedroom she's heading for doesn't look anything special on the outside, and doesn't even have anything to hint at the occupant's identity.

Mimori Togo has posed:
Oh, so she did read that right! Togo gives a soft, nervous laugh at the admittance. "I promise I won't be a bother, then." She maneuvers her wheelchair out of the elevator and down the hall, pulling up alongside Tsubasa and easily keeping pace. Taking note of the room number and lack of anything else special, Togo reaches for the door handle to pull it open. She's more adept at getting around things like doors, so for now, she does what she can to help!

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
The room is a bit messy and untidy, apparently nobody has bothered to clean it up in a while. Or maybe Tsubasa is just really untidy and people can't keep up with it. Either way, once she's inside, Tsubasa heads straight for the bed, grabbing hold of a supportive stand next to it to aid her while she steps out of the chair and climbs into the bed.

"I don't have anything to drink I can offer you." She says softly, pressing the button to raise the back of the bed so she's sitting more than laying down. She still looks tired, "Sorry."

Mimori Togo has posed:
Although she definitely sees the mess, Togo decides not to bring it up. She doesn't say a word as Tsubasa gets back into bed, waiting until the older girl is settled before wheeling over nearby. "Oh, don't worry. I'm the one imposing on you!"

Her voice lowers slightly. "And I do apologize if I'm imposing, just... you looked lonely." Togo lifts her head and smiles softly. "So if you don't mind my company, I'll be glad to spend some time here. It's the least I can do as part of the Hero Club!"

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"It's not that I'm lonely." Tsubasa answers, and it sounds true but sad at the same time, "It's that there are things I feel like I ought to be doing, but can't." She sighs, and looks at the girl who is now technically her visitor. "And if I'm just here doing nothing, I have nothing to distract me from that."

Perhaps discussing that bit isn't going to help distract her either, it definitely hasn't cheered her up, and she starts looking away from Togo and out of the window. Softly sighing, the entire gesture is sad. "And I've had to cancel concerts, again." It wasn't that long ago that Tsubasa had cancelled some concerts due to being overworked, at least, that's what the news said.

Mimori Togo has posed:
"Ah... Well..." Togo scratches a finger at her cheek again. "I suppose I don't mind being a distraction. Though it's a shame I didn't know I'd be visiting someone today, or I'd have brought some snacks to share!" Don't worry. Hang out with Togo enough, and it's inevitable that there will be snacks.

"I'm sure your fans will understand! I know I do. But..." Togo tilts her head slightly, frowning just a bit. "Something I learned long ago is that dwelling on it won't help. You'll just make yourself feel worse. It's much better to focus on something positive, like thinking about what sort of fun things you're going to do once you're on your feet again!"

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"I'm not sure my manager would like me taking snacks anyway." Tsubasa jokes, at least it sounds like one. "And yeah, the fans have been understanding." Something says it's more than just the fans that's the problem with cancelling concerts, but Tsubasa tries not to draw attention to it.

"I know dwelling on it won't help, that's why I welcomed the distraction." Again she essentially turns Togo's visit into a distraction and little else, but it doesn't sound personal. "I'll probably be working on the next concert. I can practice singing in here, somewhat, but holding a good show is about so much more."

Mimori Togo has posed:
A soft click of the tongue. "Snacks are important, no matter who you are! So long as it's in moderation." Togo's brain is already in high gear, thinking of what snacks said manager might allow. "Just you wait, I'll make sure you can eat what I bring next time!"

After a moment, she pauses and blushes slightly. "Ah.. assuming it's okay if we meet again, that is! Eheh.." For a minute there she forgot that she was Tsubasa's fan! The power of snacks is frightening indeed, even when they're not here. Distraction can indeed happen, though, and Togo hmms softly. "You always look so energetic during your shows. I'm sure that you'll be just as good for the next one."

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"I'll think about it." Tsubasa noncommitally responds to the idea of Togo coming to visit again. It doesn't sound like a brush off, however, just a genuine 'I don't know if it's okay yet.' She reaches out to turn on a music player. It's some calm, instrumental, traditional Japanese music. Not all that much like the J-Pop Tsubasa is known for.

"If you can give me an e-mail address or something I can use, then I'll be able to give an answer when I'm done thinking about it." The girl leans back, relaxing and listening to the music from her music player. "What school do you go to?" This sounds more like trying to find something to talk about.

Mimori Togo has posed:
There's a soft sound of acknowledgement, Togo nods.. and then her eyes widen. "I didn't know that you liked that sort of music..." There's even a visible sparkle in her eyes as she clasps her hands together. "A...ahhh, if you ever used this song in one of your concerts..." She trails off there, but it's obvious from the way she's swaying slightly to the music that she enjoys this type quite a bit.

"Oh, of course! I can..." Togo reaches for her cell phone, and as she's tapping in the unlock code, she pauses and realizes that she's about to get the contact information of a famous idol singer. "Oh, I go to Seiyou.. Eighth grade!"

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"A well-rounded musician knows how to enjoy a well-rounded selection of music." Tsubasa answers softly, smiling. "This is a little easier to use as a background while we're talking than some of the other music in my library would be, don't you think?" Including, but not limited, to her own. "But yes, I do like traditional music."

Though Togo may believe she is getting contact info, sadly enough that's not how it works. Tsubasa is reaching for a pen and paper, to write down the contact information, but makes no sign of intending to hand out her own. If any contact info is to be given by her, apparently it will come only once a decision is made. "That's a good school. I go to Verone, myself." That much isn't secret.

Mimori Togo has posed:
"Ah, it's some of my favorite music." Togo smiles and looks up toward the older girl. "I like your music a lot, but something about enka and other traditional music just speaks to my soul..."

It doesn't take long to rattle off a phone number for Tsubasa to write down. Even if she isn't getting the idol's contact information back, Togo isn't disappointed... especially if she'll be contacted again. The others will be jealous! "I've been to visit Verone a few times on Hero Club business, but I've never seen you there." A soft buzz sounds as her phone begins to vibrate in her hands. "Speaking of which..." A few taps to unlock, and Togo skims the message. "I hate to leave you alone again, Tsubasa-san, but it looks like they need me. The home ec club wanted me to show them how to make neri youkan today."

Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
Tsubasa writes down the number with quick, neat strokes. "There's something to every genre of music that has ever been popular. If there wasn't, it wouldn't have been. Understanding makes you a better musician." She says with a smile, "At least, that's what my teachers say." That sounds almost like a joke.

When Togo-san informs her of other obligations, she puts the number away, "It's alright. You didn't plan on visiting, I can hardly blame you for having prior obligations." She leans back and closes her eyes. "Just close the door on your way out, alright?"
