Being Civil
Date of Scene: 20 October 2016
Location: Pikarigaoka - Seiyou Public School
Synopsis: Tadase passes off homework on behalf of a missing student ... to Eilam. Given recent events with Amu, this is not the most comfortable of meetings.
Cast of Characters: Tadase Hotori, Eilam Hisakawa

Tadase Hotori has posed:
It's a nice fall day in Tokyo's Pikarigaoka Ward, and underneath the castle-like exterior of the private-turned-public Seiyou public school, many are students taking advantage of it to play outside, do homework in the cool shade underneath the trees, or just lay in the grass. But one of those students is not Tadase Hotori.

Tadase is, instead, heading over to the front gate of the school to meet someone who's offered to pick up homework on behalf of a missing student. Sure, it was odd that they were picking up the work for someone who was a missing person and not ill or otherwise known, but Tsukasa had told Tadase it would get to the right place with that knowing smile, so Tadase hadn't pushed the point any further.

And that's why he's got a stack of papers in his hands as he heads towards the gate, looking around for the persaon in question - it would've helped if they told him who to look for. For as many things as Tsukasa knows, he sured missed out on sharing important info sometimes...
Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
Truly, Eilam did stand out a bit, more a combination of his hair being exceptionally pink - albeit a trait shared by some, how many males had such in a heavy quantity? And on top of that, he was still wearing his Infinity University outfit. At the moment Eilam was leaning against one of the pillars of the front gate, on the inside of the schoolgrounds while otherwise waiting. It was a decent day and while he wasn't unfamiliar with school life, it did give him the opportunity to look over the school grounds and take in the various sights.

While reclined against the gates pillar, Eilam happened to notice someone walking around looking as if they were trying to find another. Instead of calling out? Eilam pushes away from the gate to walk towards Tadase. Only when he got close enough did he finally speak. "Are you the one the headmaster said would bring me the collection of assignments and lesson plans?" Maybe said missing girl was actually attending Infinity now, just quietly? Why else would an Infinity student care? Hard to say, really. Though to be fair Eilam probably looked like he was about to fall over. Tired. Maybe he had a bad sleep schedule.
Tadase Hotori has posed:
When you've spent as much time around people of strange haircolors as the average citizen of the Three Wards, you get used to it - though the pink hair specifically does draw Tadase's attention, though less so when he realizes it's not attached to Amu. That's when he picks up on the uniform.

"Oh. Hello!" Tadase says brightly. "Yeah, I've got all of the lesson plans for Okana-san's courses. I hope she's alright." he says, quietly. Then he looks at Eilam.

"Did you walk over here from Infinity? You look exhausted." he says, concerned. Then he blinks, like he's forgotten something. "Oh, I didn't even introduce myself. I'm Tadase Hotori, King's Chair. And you are...?"
Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
"Eilam. Hisakawa." He almost seemed to yawn as he said such. "I do not know if she is all that well, but I do have my hopes she will be fine eventually, and be able to return to her education." Eilam's manner of speaking was fairly formal, almost aristocratic stuffy, the kind of speaking you'd expect to hear from someone who spoke formally rather than a bit more relaxed like most younger types seem to.

"As for that... I am always that way. I have had a condition since I was quite young that makes it rather hard at times to keep any semblance of energy about me." If he'd heard the name before, Eilam certainly hadn't associated it with Amu, and honestly probably wouldn't have even brought it up even had he. Instead he shifts a strap he had around his shoulder and chest to pull a satchel to his hip, reaching for the stack of papers as he did.

"Sorry for the trouble. I would have been content to wait inside, but the headmaster suggested I simply come back about this time and wait by the gate as it would take a while."
Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase nods. Something bugs him, pricks him at the back of his head, but he is business right now, so business is his focus. He nods. "I wish you health." Tadase says as he passes the papers to Eilam, smiling. "It's no trouble at all. It's just easy to get lost in Seiyou - some parts of it are honestly like a maze."

It's about this time, once the papers are with Eilam, that Tadase blinks - because Kiseki has remembered who Eilam is. "Wait. Eilam..." he says, pausing.

But he doesn't act rashly, he even takes a step back, looking at him. "Did you have a meeting with a girl named Amu Hinamori recently?" Tadase asks, being as diplomatic as possible, at least for the moment.
Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
The paperwork was placed into the satchel and the satchel closed, Eilam even started to turn and leave. But then Tadase asked something and he turned to look at the other, almost curiously. "I would not call it a meeting, but yes, I know her. Why do you ask?" The last time he had seen her was when that dog monster attacked and ate him, which got a little shiver to run through him. Sure, he'd been through some stuff, but that experience was not something he would ever want to happen again.

Overall Eilam didn't visually seem worried, or concerned, though inside his head was another story. Some explicitives as he began to wonder why someone /else/ had heard of him. He'd forgiven Reiko, but suddenly Amu was talking about him to? This was getting ridiculous. Of course, he was rather worried even /more/ people somehow knew about his condition, not... what it seems Tadase was actually bringing it up over.
Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase frowns a bit. He leans back like he's going to step back, but doesn't, which results in him lurching forward. It's more than a little clumsy looking. It's a result of him trying, very hard, to keep immediate reactions and emotions in check.

"...you need to know she has a boyfriend." he says, quickly - then has to clarify. "Which means it's really not appropriate for you to be kissing her, on the cheek or in any other way." he says, feeling a little awkward trying to say anything like that, but also feeling like he can't just not say anything.

Then, after a pause. "...Did she tell you that? That she has a boyfriend?"
Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
There was a fair moment where Eilam just ... stared at Tadase, unsure what to say. But then it became a little more clear that it wasn't his condition that she'd rambled to someone about, but apparently that he kissed her on the cheek? With no context, even, if he was this bothered? Or maybe he was just the jealous type.

Instead of attempting to diffuse the situation, or talk his way out of it, Eilam didn't seem to back away or be worried. He just stood right where he was, holding onto the strap of the satchel, then said rather simply, "The fact that you're asking if she told me, and do not already know, or even care, says more about you than the question you are asking. You aren't even upset about me, you're upset about her, and want to know, right? Sure, you would like to blame me for whatever you think might have happened, leave her innocent, or guilty perhaps, of letting me know? Look, Tadase, was it? I do not think this really has anything at all to do with me, does it? Be honest."

He totally didn't answer the question at all. Totally just politiced the question back on him.
Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase frowns. In that moment, his attempt to be diplomatic took a pretty big axe to the shoulder. "Well if you didn't know..." he says sternly. "Then I don't need to do anything more than tell you the deal. But if you did know, then you're despicable." That much he says clearly, firmly, without any shame.

"So all I'm trying to do is figure out exactly what happened."

Tadase isn't going to bite on the accusations about Amu, just because he knows they do have problems, but he's not focused on that. Amu, he can always call, always see, always look into her eyes and ask directly. This boy, less so.

Kiseki has clambered out of his backpack and looks a lot more angry than Tadase does, though.
Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
Eilam does see Hiseki climb out, and as a result comes to assume that Tadase isn't as mundane as he seems. That does make it a bit easier. Seemingly of similar traits to Amu as well. "Amu enjoys the attention of others. I could not say what exactly makes her like the attention, but something about her appearance, likely, bothers her. You seem to know her better than I do, maybe you would know this better than me? My point is, though, it really doesn't matter if I knew that she had a boyfriend or not. What matters is I really do not feel at all bad about flirting with her, or complimenting things about her. Saying things that make her smile, or feel good about herself. Just because you two are dating doesn't mean you are the only one who should ever make her feel happy about herself, right?"

As he stood there, Eilam let his hands come to the pockets of his pants, seemingly relaxed. "You already know I kissed her on the cheek. You probably also know she probably enjoyed it, but also was rather surprised that I did and shoved me away a couple of moments after I did. You're too insecure, Tadase. I'm not after her, and I'm not trying to pull her away from you. I have someone I already care for and I am quite content in caring for them. My attention towards Amu? Is almost exclusively to make her feel good about herself. Something you should probably be more worried about than me. Because if she liked you enough to let you know, probably to try and comfort your feelings of not being prince charming... then that means she cares more about you than you seem to think others care about her."

And with that, Eilam turned, seemingly intent on just walking away. "If you really are trying to protect her, maybe you should consider being happy someone else realize she's insecure and is trying to make her feel better about herself by saying nice things, like she looks pretty, or flirting with her to make her feel attractive."
Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase takes that all in quietly. At least, at first. Eventually, though, he can't just let it go. His voice is a bit more stern and threatening than perhaps his intent. "Everything isn't as easy as I want it to be, but I don't need you stepping in and complicating things. I don't need you giving her attention. If there's a problem between us that's... between us! But you absolutely shouldn't be making romantic... anything! Towards her. Wether you know then or not, you know now."

Eilam may not be able to see the crown that's presented itself on Tadase's head, since he's walking away. "If you challenge my honor in the future I will give you what you deserve, and you don't exactly look up to a duel."
Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
Eilam let out a sigh as he shook his head. "You didn't hear a thing I said, did you? Regardless, you are the problem, not her. She deserves better. Not that I will be giving it to her, I have no interest in Amu romantically or for anything else for that reason. So tell me, Tadase... is it what I deserve, or is it you feeling like it's not big enough because your girlfriend enjoys feeling wanted? Because the problem, as I said earlier, isn't me. If she really wants to feel wanted that badly while you are together, maybe you are lacking."

His words at this point /were/ rather cruel, perhaps a bit too much so. "I am not challenging anything of yours. You pissed all over it yourself when you started getting jealous. You aren't trying to protect her, you know that, right, Tadase? There's nothing to protect her from. You're like a dog barking at the mailman through the screen door because they said hello to your owner. What are you going to do, attack the guy who is dying already? Beat me up and make it happen faster? Would that make you her hero? Or would she just be upset at you because you hurt someone pointlessly?" Eilam is /assuming/ the antiquated 'duel' meant a fight, but that's him trying to place together why anyone his age would use the phrase duel.
Tadase Hotori has posed:
Crown still atop his head, Tadase just glares at Eilam, visibly seething inside. "I've said all I intend to say on this topic. You can have whatever high and mighty opinions you want, but you don't understand a damn thing. About her, about me, about our relationship. So just let me make myself clear a second time. I don't care if you talk to her, listen to her, if you're her friend. I'm not trying to control her."

"But don't disrespect our relationship - you can't even comprehend what we've been through together or why we need each other. I'm being civil. I might not be able to if there's a next time, because I won't be able to plead innocence on your behalf."

Kiseki probably still doing a substantial amount of the driving, Tadase doesn't just leave - he makes an entirely magically aided jump from the outside courtyard to the roof of the Royal Garden to vacate the conversation, trailing dull bronze streaks for a moment behind him.
