Date of Scene: 10 April 2016
Location: Uminari City - Game Center Crown
Synopsis: Haruna, Naru, and Sierra meet in the Crown over DDR and ice cream.
Cast of Characters: Haruna Kurosawa, Naru Osaka, Sierra Earhart

Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Dance Dance Revolution was the flavor of the day for one, Haruna Kurosawa. She was living with Hannah-chan now, mainly because her sister kicked her out due to all the recent drama. She felt better not living in a cramped motel room. She didn't own a whole lot to move around. Kind of having not much of a life until recently means you don't have a lot of hobby things to move around yet.

Haruna is dressed in a gray bussiness suit with a sea green undershirt and seafoam green tie. She's still dancing her heart out on the machine, trying to beat the second to highest score because- seriously, who's gonna beat 'KYO' anytime soon off the score charts!?

On the railing is Corvus, Haruna's 'Pet Seagull' who is mimicing her motions on the machine almost, like he was joining in.

Come on, just a little more more...

Good! Perfect! Good! Bad. Bad. Bad. Baaaaaad, Noooooo!

She falls flat and gets a score that doesn't even place on the leader board.

She flumps and grumbles, touching the screen to end the game.

She flumps to the table, Corvus follows along, punting up through the air following after.

She crosses her arms and sighs. "Lame." she says.

"...I think I need a drink.." she mutters. "Milkshake...." she mutters as she taps her chin.
Naru Osaka has posed:
The door opens and closes, letting Naru Osaka step in. A backpack dangles from one shoulder, mostly empty by the way it hangs. She wears a simple enough skirt and blouse, the bright blue an excellent compliment for her hair. She glances around as she moves further into the game centre, looking to see who might be here already that she knows.

She passes by the end of Haruna's run on the DDR machine, lingering a moment to watch the final frustration. "That song is always brutal right at the end." She comments with a sympathetic smile in Haruna's direction.
Sierra Earhart has posed:
Haruna is not the only on who has a flavor of the day. One of the newest residents of Tokyo, who literally arrived just yesterday, Has discovered the Game Center Crown. On top of this, there happened to be a flight sim. Of course its an Arcade style sim but that doesn't stop her from having spent the past hour on the same machine.

"She is going to beat your score man!" A guy states as she flat out carves her way through enemy aircraft.

"Shut up! I can beat her! Just because you stink at this game doesn't mean I do!" The rather bitter guy answers his friend. They are watching as she keeps going. The score just keeps rising.

Suddenly a giant nasty air craft comes flying out onto the screen. Its a boss fight! The girl is completely lost to the world. *PEWPEWPEWPEW!!* The sound effects ring out as well as a few *booms* for good measure. With a final shot, both her plane and the oversized boss plane go down. It was her last life.

The high score screen flashes up and she inputs her initials. S.E. 9 BOOMS ring out as the girl's initials climb the high score ladder, narrowly knocking the number one score right out of the top position. A new High Score!

Sierra Earhart stands up fromt the game. She turns and looks at the two boys and smirks. She doesn't say anything. Nope, She simply curtseys and goes to explore the rest of the place.
Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Haruna Kurosawa looks over to Naru and blinks. She squints. "Yeah." she says. "Yeah it is." she suddenyl says. "Ugh, I need to try one of the easier tracks next time really." she says as she places two fingers to the seagull's head and gives it two tiny pets.

She pauses.

"Hey- you busy? Have a seat. I could use some company." she says to Naru.

Her eyes glance over the commotion at the nearby cockpited flight sim game- because that is totally done up like a cockpit in an aracde, and she raises a brow. "Ugh, I can get being competitve about high scores, but I never get why people are so tight about it sometimes." she says as she purses her lips.

Her eyes trace the girl as she walks on by. "Hey. Sounds like you riled some boys up." she says to Sierra as she passes by with a smirk.

She pauses. "Right. I'm Haruna Kurosawa. This is Corvus." she says patting the bird. The seagull seems particularly happy to be pet and be introduced but is otherwise quiet because seagulls do not normally talk and he knows it.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"No.. I'm not busy." Naru replies as she gives another look around and then back to Haruna. "I wasn't sure if any of my friends were going to be here, apparently not. Company would be nice. Thanks."

She too, turns at the commotion and there's a little smile. "I think she totally kicked their butts." A soft little giggle, approving and then looks back to Haruna and Corvus. "Nice to meet you, both." She is thoughtful a moment and then smiles as she speaks to Corvus directly. "You don't look much like a raven, you know." She seems more amused than anything about the name and then she looks to both of them again. "I'm Naru Osaka."
Sierra Earhart has posed:
The blue haired girl gives a smile to Haruna as she moves by. "Just a little. Its only a game though. They will play and probably best my score eventually." She laughs and winks a violet eye.

Looking down over her, she is wearing black tank top which has 'U*S*M*C' emblazened on the front. A pink hoodies is tied around her waist and on that hoodie there is a brass set of pilot's wings. A soft violet short skirt clings to her hips and on her feet is a pair of comfy looking sneakers.

Quickly she moves over to the prize area to take a look at the cool goodies they have. Its times like this she is thankful that her Mother taught her Japanese at a young age. Otherwise this would be a real challenge.
Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Corvus puts 'wings on his hips' and eyes Naru. Everyone says that. You can't exactly say 'well I /used/ to be a raven' to normal people, and Haruna can't say that either. "It's a nice name. Even if he's a seagull and not a raven." she insists.

She peeks over at Sierra as she goes over to the prize counter. Ugh, Game Crown prizes all flash, nothing actually worth having and nothing Haruna couldn't just buy. The good stuff comes out of the machines themselves you can't see- anyways. One day she's gonna win one of /those/.

She smiles. "Naru-san, then!" she says politely.

"Your friends? Who are that, maybe I know 'em." she says softly. "I know lots of people it seems!" she says gently.

Her eyes trace back to Sierra. She wants to yell 'those are all rip offs!' but she doesn't wanna be kicked out.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"It's a fantastic name!" Naru agrees easily and giggles at Corvus' wings on hips stance. "I'm sorry if it's a sore point." She comments to the bird himself as she settles with the pair of them.

Sierra's travels to the prize area is tracked by Naru as well and she looks back to Haruna. "I don't think there's much left in the prizes that I actually /want/ anymore, and I'm not even all that good at the games." Which is quite a gentle way of acknowledging that the prizes basically suck.

"Er.. well usually everyone knows Usagi Tsukino. I'm pretty sure she's friends with everyone in Tokyo, or it just feels that way." Naru's smile is gentle, rueful and utterly fond at the mention of Usagi.
Sierra Earhart has posed:
Sierra shrugs and turns away from the various trinkets and doodads that are all presented on the various shelves. From there she moves over to the various claw machines that are present. Some of them have interesting stuff in. Others are blind ones. No idea what they could be.

Then she gets an idea. Ice Cream! Ice Cream is Ice Cream no matter where you go. She quickly places an order for a cone waits for it. Then with a nice ice cream cone in hand, she moves over to a table not far from Haruna and Naru. She sits and makes a few licks at her snack.

"Mmmmmm, No matter where you go Ice Cream is always yummy." She happens to have some chocolate ice cream as that is safe for her. She's had some of the more local flavors in other parts of the country but chocolate is always something she can enjoy.
Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Haruna Kurosawa eyes light up! "Oh! Usagi-chan! Yup! I know her!" she smiles. She leans forward. "Yeah she knows about everyone." she says softly. "Cute too, but don't tell Mamoru I said that." she winks, placing hand to side of her mouth.

"Anyways." she says. leaning back, she crosses her arms, still looking sharp in her suit.

"You want anything? I was thinking of some ice cream myself--- hey Hi-score girl." she says over to Sierra. "Why don't you come over here and sit?" she asks. "Instead of sitting over there all by yourself." she says.

"It's gotta stink, right? People come to these places to meet new people, right?" she asks.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"I'm in for ice cream." Naru agrees with a nod and a laugh. "She /is/ cute, I think Mamoru has noticed." She winks right back, teasing. "Usa and I have been besties .. basically forever. Since we were little kids. I know Mamo and some of his friends too. Only a couple though."

Naru digs in her backpack to pull out her little notebook and set it on the table. A wave towards Sierra as she sits down nearby with Chocolate ice cream. "Hi! C'mon over."
Sierra Earhart has posed:
The new girl gives a smile and a nod. Quickly she stands up and moves over to the table with Naru and Haruna. "Hello. Umm, Thank you. I don't really know anyone yet. I only arrived in Tokyo yesterday. I sorta met one of my favorite singers and well, she really didn't seem to like me. Which might have been my fault. I don't know." She sighs softly. Better to not go into the whole bit about the voices, eggs, and just flat out weirdness.

"Oh umm, Sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Sierra. Sierra Earhart. I'm from the USA, well, dual citizen ship. My mom was born here and my dad in the US. Go figure right?" She laughs playfully. "Anyway when school starts back up, I will be attending Seiyou Middle School."
Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Haruna Kurosawa raises a brow. "Favorite singers? Who's that?" she asks softly. "Hey Sierra. My name's Haruna." she says as she stands up. She walks over to the counter and orders two ice creams-- vanilla. Basic vanilla because everyone likes vanilla.

She offers one over to Naru as she also places a bowl of ice cream in front of Corvus, who begins pecking at it happily.

She smirks. "They're a cute couple so that's okay." she says softly with a grin. Her eyes trace to Sierra.

"Oh! From the USA? My girlfriend is from there originally. Where abouts? Is it true Kentucy is actually not ruled by a Colonel?" she asks hopefully at her.
Sierra Earhart has posed:
Sierra laughs a little at that question. "Oh goodness no. No no no. The Kentucky is just another state. Not ruled by the Colonel. You're thinking of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Colonel Sanders made the resturant chain based on his recipe for fried chicken." She laughs again, still finding that question funny. Then she gets back to the other ones. "I am from North Carolina, USA. My dad was in the military and we moves around a lot. He was a Marine. Thankfully he was discharged not too long ago. Hopefully this means I won't be leaving in a year or two and won't be able to keep any friends I make." There is a sadness in her voice as she comments about the moving.

Then the other question, "Oh Utau Hoshina. I was talking to this guy... Umm Kukai something or other, I think Utau-san was jealous or something. She seemed angry, but she did offer to sing me a song. I think it would have been pretty cool to hear a special song from Utau!" She blushes. "Anyway things got a little silly and I just sorta walked away and got to check out the park."
Naru Osaka has posed:
"Thank you." Naru notes to Haruna as she gets ice cream. Vanilla, everyone really /does/ like vanilla. She grins at the sea gull joining them in the ice cream noshing.

"Wow. All the way from America? Are you enjoying Tokyo so far?" Naru asks as she picks up her spoon to take a little scoop of ice cream upon it.
Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Haruna Kurosawa hrmphs! "W-well I knew that!" she says. She doesn't go on about how she fought a Kentucky Fried Chicken monster. That'd be weird. She does ask. "Silly, how?" she asks. "Oh! Utau! Oh..jealous... at Kukai-chan?" she asks as she taps her chin. "Huh..." she thinks a bit. "The Guardians as a whole seem to have some weird drama going on." she scrunches her nose and frowns. "Whelp. Not my problem anymore!" she says with a smile.

She shoves a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth, as she purses her lips. "Ya know. I think you should meet Hannah-chan. She's from around the same area I think. Maybe you too can talk about whole roast pigs!" she says.

"...they do that over there, right?"

"One time Hannah's Dad did that at a BBQ. Roasted the whole pig! I'm trying to learn how to do that, so I can teriyaki an entire pig for her someday." she says with a matter of fact nod.

She head tilts. "Sorry..." she rubs the back of her head. "I'm trying to learn more about America. Because I wanna go there someday." she says.

"Someday soon maybe, even!" she beams!
Sierra Earhart has posed:
Sierra Earhart looks to Naru and gives a little nod. There is a slight sadness behind her eyes. Its just noticable but not overwhelming. "Its nice here so far. Things are just a little a bit different. But I've been all over. I mean I lived in North Carolina, Florida, Texas, and Gotemba, Shizuoka. I moved around a lot because my dad would be stationed at different places."

Finally a solid distraction! "Roasting a whole pig? You'd need to set up a spit and an open fire pit. Then you plan on sitting there and turning the spit for a few hours as well as keeping the fire on. You gotta spray it down or inject it with your flavoring. I think anyway. That makes the most sense to me anyway. Just gotta get yourself a pig to do it with. And make sure it's cleaned."

She nods slowly, "Its okay, This is how ya learn right? My mom taught me about Japan while I was growing up. I'm half Japanese, Half ummm, whatever my dad is. I know more about America because I was born there and lived there most of my life. So yeah I can answer questions. I just have a lot to learn about being here. Its one thing to be told about something. It's another to actually experience it."

Quickly she licks up some more of her ice cream which is starting to run. Her eyes catch all the tall buildings and her heart flutters. "Ugh, do yall have a thing for heights around here. Yeesh." She shutters.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"Who are the Guardians?" Naru asks calmly as she nibbles on ice cream and watches the two girls chatter about America. She blinks, her eyes a little wide at all the places Sierra's been. "I.. I've never lived anywhere but Tokyo. Wow. That's a lot of places!"

She giggles softly and looks over towards the various tall buildings and then nods, looking back to the conversation. "Makes for some amazing views, especially if you've an apartment nice and high up. It's gorgeous."

The description of pig roasting makes her nose wrinkle at the idea. "And it's tasty? The pig when its done like that?" Naru sounds skeptical.
Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Haruna Kurosawa smiles. "Seiyou's Student Council." That's the offical story anyways. Convient that. "Tadase, Amu, Kuaki, some others." she says softly. She looks over to Sierra. "Huh okay. So.. get a spit and---" she grumbles. "I'll just look it up online when I get a chance." she mumbles.

"No roasting Corvus!" she insists.

Corvus blinks and rolls his eyes, before going back to his ice cream.

She looks to Naru and Sierra. "Yeah lots of skyscrapers. Why...."

"...afraid of heights?" she asks softly.
Sierra Earhart has posed:
Sierra Earhart Winces and seems to withdraw a bit. She simply whispers, "yeah." Its a very pained answer. "I don't want to be afraid of them. I wanna fly. I'd give anything to be able to just push away the fears and become a pilot. Thats my dream. It started on the flight over to Japan. We couldn't take a boat and clearly couldn't drive. We had to fly. I hated it. I hated it so much. I was shaking and white as a ghost. Then one of the flight attendants took me up to the cockpit. The pilots let me look out the window and I seen the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I seen the world above the clouds. I calmed down a lot when I seen that and ever since then I wanted to fly. They told me I earned my wings and gave me a pin." She pulls up her jacket and shows off the brass pin with pilots wing and the airline she flew over on.

Then there is the talk of the Guardians. She thinks to herself, Could that be what those weird voices were talking about? No way. Its gotta be something else. She ponders this a little more. "I guess I wil... Wait Kukai? Cool! I met him yesterday. I guess I will likely meet the others in the future."

She turns to Naru and smirks. "Oh yes it's good. It is flat out amazing if you can handle doing it! Its sooo yummy and depending on what you cook it with, it can get really sweet and just delicious."
Naru Osaka has posed:
"You've already made such a good start!" Naru gestures with her spoon. "I mean, it started out kinda rough, but you made it to the cockpit.. /and/ you looked out the window. AND you calmed down!" She sounds so delighted, even for someone she barely knows. "That's huge! That's awesome!" She looks over to admire the pin and grins. "Very cool!"

"I don't think I know anyone who goes to Seiyou. Well.. until meeting you." Naru adds after a bite of ice cream, commenting to Haruna. "I go to Seishou."
Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Haruna Kurosawa smiles. "You get used to heights after a while." she says. Yeah she remembers her first few times flying as Pretty Cure. She ended up too high and she /freaked out/. Luckily Corvus is a bird and talked her through it. Corvus is not afraid of heights. That'd be funny...wouldn't it?

She grins. "The pig I had was really delicious." she says. "I should talk to Hannah's dad about doing another one for me...." she says.

"I bet if I ask really nicely..." she says.

She eyes the pin. "Oh! That's kinda neat!" she smiles.

"I find you get used to heights and learn to appreciate the neater things. The wind through your hair, how pretty it is up above it all.." she says softly as she gets sort of dreamy about it suddenly.
Sierra Earhart has posed:
Sierra Earhart Shutters and shakes her head, "I've been struggling with heights since I was a little girl. I fell off the monkey bars at school and broke may arm. It sorted really messed me up I guess. Last night I made the mistake of looking out my window and started freaking out. I just don't know how to get over it ya know?"

She smiles to Naru, "I will be going to Seiyou when school is back in session. As for the wings, I keep them on me most of the time. Its a nice reminder of just how amazing things are if I can just get past the heights."
Naru Osaka has posed:
"Excellent, then I'll know two people at Seiyou." Naru smiles to Sierra and then gestures a little. "Well. Tokyo is probably going to just make you cope with it so often that you'll have to learn that you dont always fall. Learning to fly might help, then you can feel in control of it." She speculates thoughtfully and then looks faintly sheepish. "I mean, I think so? I've never flown anywhere, but it makes sense, I think."
Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Haruna Kurosawa looks to Sierra and leans forward. "Hey... we all need to.. figure out a way through our own issues..." she looks down.

"For a long time I used to be a shut in. I wasn't really in a good place you know? But it took something amazing to even get me out-- when--- I really should had just got the courage to face the world." she says softly.

"Don't try to let it take something... 'amazing' to fix your own issue, okay?" she asks softly.

"Right!" she says to Naru and nods matter of factly then he phone goes off.

She peeks it over.

"Oh---darn. Meeting." she mutters. "While school is out I'm maaaaking money~" she beams. "But that means working. I'll see you guys later." she smiles as she walks to the counter-- pays for the ice cream--and off she goes! Corvus follows suit, after giving a quick winged salute, following Haruna and landing on her shoulder.
Sierra Earhart has posed:
Sierra Earhart frowns a little, "I wish I could. Going to flight school is expensive and I'd have to rent a plane and stuff. It would be just really expensive. I can still hope I guess." Its a pained look on her face. It is clear that this is something she desperately wants. "I don't wanna go into the military like my dad did. While I could learn to fly there, I think I would rather do it without being expected to hurt people."
Naru Osaka has posed:
"Well. I think there's an age requirement too, so short of coming up with fake ID, I think you've probably got a couple years to worry about coming up with the money for flight school." Naru comments with a smile. "Besides, stranger things have happened!"

Naru shakes her head a little. "I don't think I could manage to be in the military, with the expectation of hurting people. Even bad people. I'm /such/ a softie. I blame being an artist. We're /supposed/ to be all warm and fuzzy and stuff."
Sierra Earhart has posed:
Sierra Earhart laughs a little, "I suppose you are right. And it'll never happen if I can't get over the whole heights thing. Maybe eventually I will get through this. Maybe I will just have to wish upon a star to be free of it!" She laughs.

She looks at Naru and shrugs, "I wouldn't know. I've lived on multiple bases all of my life. I just have had enough of all the orders and everything. I mean come on. I just wanna be free of all of that, ya know?
Naru Osaka has posed:
"I can totally see that. School is orderly and rules enough, let alone the military." Naru laughs and nods. "Wish upon a star, and then work on it. You've only just arrived, after all. You've not even had a whole week of Tokyo skyscrapers, you'll likely get more used to it even in a month or two." She agrees.
Sierra Earhart has posed:
Sierra Earhart sighs, "Its more me being off the ground that has me so worried. Climbing ladders, Stairs, Windows high up, rooftops... Anything off the ground." She sighs again. "I just hate being off the ground."

She sighs, and just shakesh er head. "Maybe things will clear up in time. Just, I've been fighting with this since I was a little girl." She finishes off her ice cream cone and just shakes her head, "I dunno. I think I should probably get going. I should probably get home and try to sort things out."
Naru Osaka has posed:
"That really /does/ suck. I'm so sorry to hear that it's so bad." Naru wrinkles her nose. "It's still really impressive that you enjoyed the cockpit so much. That's /good/." She smiles and nods. "It was nice to have met you. Welcome to Tokyo. I expect you've got a ton of unpacking to do, and all of that."
