- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Still no school, even if Kyouko generally has work; winter break. The boys sent breakfast down to her earlier with a note that said 'don't come up you don't like who's sleeping on the couch' (and if she did come up anyway it was Hannah). It's after Kyouko's shift now, and Mamoru'd texted her like half an hour before she came home that he was making mac-and-cheese doughnuts and was going to eat them on the roof in a funk all by himself if she didn't help him dispose of the pile, and then he'd die of cholesterol overdose or something.
He just got up here, and one whole apartment smells like delicious fried death, and there are some of these monstrosities in the kitchen in the oven staying warm, and then there's the three he brought up to the roof with him. He's not dumb. One for him, two for Kyouko. "I added bacon," he calls when he hears the door opening. "Mac-and-bacon-cheese doughnuts."
- Kyouko Sakura has posed:
Kyouko pads out onto the roof. She's obviously been home for at least few minutes, because she's wearing her plaid soft pajama pants, but in deference to the season and the height, she's got a hoodie on. It's white and blue and she has her hands shoved into the big pocket in front as she wanders over towards where Mamoru is. He can probably hear her sniffing at the air.
"So, not that I'm complainin'," The Littlest Shitennou says, as she comes up to stand beside him, lopsided grin in place. "But I have to wonder what inspired you to attempt this particular brand of food-based alchemy today." She eyes the mac-n-cheese-n-bacon doughnuts. There might be a little bit of salivating going on.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Someone linked me a video of making them on tumblr," Mamoru answers easily enough, "and it's distressing enough that I don't think I could've gotten anyone else who can cook to actually make them." He stands to open the plastic tent flap for Kyouko, holding out the plate. "One of 'em is for me," he cautions.
It's definitely warmer in there, and it's not too stuffy since the space heaters work on convection. "Do you like my hermit tent? The big one we rented for the party worked so well I figured I'd get a smaller one and see if it was too ridiculous even for me. Jury's still out."
He deposits himself in a chair and takes one of the giant doughnuts, then takes an enormous bite.
- Kyouko Sakura has posed:
Kyouko grins as she slips in through the tent flap as it's opened for her.. and then carefully lifts one of the creations from the plate. She gives Mamoru a look when he warns her that one of them is supposed to be his. She doesn't say anything. But he gets a look.
She sits down in one of the other chairs, and chomps into the doughnut. A few moments of chewing, and a few sounds that certainly seem to be enjoyment, though she has some cheese stuck on her chin. Eventually she swallows, licking her lips. "Damn dude, that's actually really good." She says, about the doughnut.
She glances around at the tent. "It's cool. I mean, it's warm. Which is perfect cuz it'd be way too chilly to hang out up here in the winter otherwise." Another bite, another few moments chewing. "I don't think it's ridiculous. The fact that you need a hermit tent in your own house... maybe a little ridiculous. But I think you're allowed."
After a couple more moments of silent, satisfied chewing. "Listen, Mamoru.. I'm sorry I didn't tell you about me an' Naru sooner."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mamoru basically makes a face like :D at Kyouko's praise of his fried horror, which he'd been sampling along the route with small test doughnuts, and then he slouches comfortably into his chair and waves a hand. "Well I don't need a hermit tent, there are always empty rooms somewhere in the house, and if I close my bedroom door and people knock and I ignore it then they don't bug me, but there's still door-knocking, you know? Sometimes it's better to go outside. Away but not out of reach. I love everyone being here, I hated being alone. But that doesn't mean I'm suddenly an extrovert," he says with a sheepish laugh.
He chews right along with Kyouko, the doughnut steaming from the middle and the cheese gooing down from inside and having to be caught with judicious care and silent swiftness. And his mouth is full when she speaks up, and he blinks at her. A beat of frozen Mamoru, and then he swallows and looks shifty. "Uh, why? I mean. I didn't tell you about Kunzite. Um, or Zoisite. For a while. Er-- you knew about Zoisite right? Naru knew. Besides it's fine I figured it out I think before you guys did."
- Kyouko Sakura has posed:
Kyouko laughs a bit at Mamoru's comments about a house full of people not necessarily meaning that he wants to see people all the time. "Yeah, no, I get it." She reassures him, her own doughnut steadily vanishing between statements. "If I didn't have my own place to escape to downstairs sometimes, I'd probably go crazy too. I get it."
She blinks right back at him as he asks her why. "Well.. you were teasin' me about it the other day. About how I didn't tell you. And, y'know.. you are kinda like a super important friend and stuff so I feel like I should tell you things." She quirks a smile. "Yeah, I knew about Zo-nii. And no you didn't tell me but you don't have to tell me stuff like that." She pauses, then shifts on her chair. "All I mean is.. you're can share or not share whatever you want. But like, I wasn't tryin' to hide this. And I felt kinda bad that you weren't one of the first people who found out, when I wanted people to find out."
She smiles at his last comment. "You probably did. I dunno man, it was totally weird. Like, it came out of nowhere for me too. Well.. not nowhere, but.. I think for a while we were sort of subconsciously deciding not to acknowledge it because it was less complicated."
A sidelong glance. "I may.. actually have gone to Kunzite for romance advice."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
There's a big lopsided smile for a second, and Mamoru looks away, licking grease off his fingers and then brushing remaining crumbs off his hands onto the roof. "It's the same. I literally was just teasing you, you don't have to tell me anything personal you don't want to, either," he says, glancing back up sidelong at her, the smile going warmer. "And I think I actually did, since I texted Naru saying I supported your ship when she was asking me what your birthday was and she was confused and I could tell, halfway across the city, that she was blushing. That's probably what that was, yeah. Like deciding not to acknowledge it. In which case sorry for calling attention to it?"
He's teasing again, grinning, but then he blinks and looks interested. "That's actually really good thinking. I mean, I think he actually knows Naru better than probably anyone else, which is kind of adorable and kind of hilarious all at the same time. They talk a lot."
- Kyouko Sakura has posed:
Kyouko actually does blush. A little. Not like when her face turned the color of her hair the other day- just enough to show up if you're looking closely. "No.. no, it was good. Like.. we needed to. And it's better that we did, and now it's all good, so thanks."
She quirks her lips slightly at his rationale for her talking to Kunzite. "No, see, that wasn't it.. I mean, yeah, you're right, but. I knew Kunzite would list out all the reasons I shouldn't date Naru. Like, all the potential dangers. Because that's what he does. And he did. He gave me a run-down of all the ways it was possibly a bad idea."
She grins widely, with her little fang and cheese on her chin. "And that's when I knew it was a good idea. Because I looked at that list, and decided none of those ways it was bad was anywhere near enough to convince me not to." She laughs. "You were so on board, you woulda just told me to go for it. WHich, don't get me wrong, I appreciate too, but. That's what I really needed to hear."
She glances away, eyeing the wall of the tent. "It's cool because it's not like what I had with Sayaka. You know.. that was really intense from the get-go, but it wasn't based on anything. With Naru, it's like.. we already know each other. We've been friends for a while. And then suddenly I just realized that I wasn't happy when she wasn't around. And I guess it was sort of mutual? And she helps with my nightmares.. and apparently I do that for her too. And before you know it.." A shrug.
