RIBBIT
Date of Scene: 06 August 2017
Location: Mitakihara/Pikarigaoka - King Penguin Park
Synopsis: Kaeru meets Lamya. No pond will ever be the same.
Cast of Characters: Lamya, Kaeru Aokawa

Lamya has posed:
It's almost ten at night, so the park is almost deserted, save for a few of the older teens who just need to hang out somewhere. Which is why Lamya kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. She looks like your average middle schooler, whose school uniform matches one from Seiyou Public School. Well, save for her green hair and oddly red eyes that seem to shine in the night.

Despite this, people don't seem to pay her much mind. She sits atop Pengu-kun watching one of the groups of high school kids with a kind of unsettling intensity.
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa is out late. She's looking at the frogs in the pond nearby - she heard one of them glows and stayed up on a non-school night to investigate. She's wearing some muddy shorts and a shirt with a big blue frog on it as she just sits quietly, watching the frogs, ribbiting along with them, wondering if one will glow. She then glances back, seeing the girl with green hair and red eyes; Kaeru has blue hair and blue eyes (the SAME shade of blue) herself so can't comment much. She then turns back tot he frogs.
Lamya has posed:
Lamya eventually gets tired of watching the highschoolers, and her gaze wander around the park. Eventually they settle on the girl, who is talking to the frogs. Odd. She slips off Pengu-kun to land lightly on the bark dust. She walks over and boldly stands next to the girl, watching her. Watching the frogs. After about a minute she asks, "Do you understand what they're saying?"
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa just kneels down. "No... I just find that they like hearing thouse sounds. I'm gonna be a herpetologist when I grow up just like my mom. I heard osme of the frogs glow so I'm staying up to study them."
Lamya has posed:
Lamya's eyebrows knit at the unfamilliar word. "Herpetologist?" Her mouth works over the word a bit before understanding dawns in her eyes. "Ah! The study of crawly things!" Red eyes drift back to the frogs. "Anyway. It's better than you don't understand what they say. Frogs are simple creatures really." She folds her arms and scans the pool. "I don't think any of them glow. Not without help."
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa nods. "I know they're simple creatures. But they're still fascinating. I've loved frogs all my life - I have several as pets. Including a few blue ones. Blue is my favorite color." Blue hair, blue eyes, blue shorts, blue shirt...
Lamya has posed:
Lamya assesses Kaeru up and down. "Well. Yes. Obviously. Color coordination is very important."
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa shrugs. "It is..." She peeks at you. "You have the _neatest_ eyes..." she coooos as she looks at them. "Do you like frogs too? If I have trouble sleeping, I play a recording of frogsong - it puts me right out - it's..." She smiles. "It's just..." She trails off.
Lamya has posed:
Lamya blinks in surprise at Kaeru. "How...." She sighs and mutters, "yes, I was warned this city was lousy witht hem." To Kaeru proper she asks, "You wouldn't happen to be magical?"
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa raises an eyebrow. "What would make you say that?" she asks softly, fidgeting a bit, adjusting her pendant (under her shirt) and hoping it doesn't choose to glow right now.
Lamya has posed:
Lamya gives Kaeru a grin that's... much bigger than it should be, with pointier teeth than what she had before. "Because I am a dragon, and only those blessed with magical powers can pierce my glamors and see hints of my true form underneath."
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa blinks. "Oh...." she murmurs. "Hoist by my own petard..." She nods slowly. "A dragon? Really?" She glances at you, peeking all around. "Cool... maybe..." She trails off. "You're not a bad dragon, are you? You seem nice. I'm Kaeru by the way."
Lamya has posed:
"Of course I'm not a bad dragon," Lamya answers, folding her arms in a huff. "We're just misunderstood, you know. I'm Lamya."
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa smiles. "Can I see your dragon form? I could show you my...." She trails off. "Ummmm..... maybe I shouldn't hsave said that much...?"
Lamya has posed:
Lamya makes a show of thinking about the request before shaking her head. "It's a bad idea. The glamor that I use isn't strong enough for my true form."
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa nods slowly as suddenly, there's a frog sitting on Kaeru's head. It appears to be made of blue light as Kaeru doesn't seem aware of it a she turns to gaze at the pond again, the frog watching you.
Lamya has posed:
Lamya's red eyes blinks at the sudden appearance of the frog. "Well," she says with amusement, pointing a finger to the construct. "I think we found your glowing frog."
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa reaches up. "Hey - I told you not to just appear like this..." She holds the frog which ribbits. "Yeah - Kero appears sometimes... it's... part of my magic..." She smiles softly. "If you can call it that. But when I'm like this, only a magical one can see it so I think we have confirmed each other's stories..."
Lamya has posed:
Lamya chuckles and nods her head in agreement. "I think so." She reaches out to touch the frog's head which, as it turns out, doesn't explode. "So. Are you a water witch?"
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa shakes her head. "Not really... it's... complicated. It's hard to explain and I'm not sure how much to explain." She smiles as the frog ribbits. "Glad that you're not evil..." she muses. "My frogs detonate if bad people touch them."
Lamya has posed:
Lamya reflexively touches the collar that encircles her neck. "Yes. Well. Like I said, dragons aren't evil. Just misunderstood." She does look a little disappointed that Kaeru isn't a water witch. "And I'm glad your frog didn't explode. It would have been painful to say the least."
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa smiles. "Yes - I'm glad too - glad you're not being hurt." She smiles. "This frog is a manifestation of my abilities but..." She fronws. "I really should find out what I should say about such things."
Lamya has posed:
Lamya settles onto her knees in the grass alongside the pond. "I'm pretty sure I could have guessed that," she says, smiling. "Most frogs don't glow like that. Or suddenly appear out of thin air."
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa nods. "Yes - it's a construct..." She smiles. "Sometimes it appears. Suffice it to say I'm associated iwth the color blue. My power revolves around it... but..." She trails off.
Lamya has posed:
A green eybrow quirks upward as she smooths out her skirt over her knees. "But...?" Lamya prompts helpfully.
Kaeru Aokawa has posed:
Kaeru Aokawa sighs. "It's complicated. But this venue is too public anyway. A normal person can't see it anyway - just ilke your eyes, I bet."
Lamya has posed:
Lamya nods slowly. "I understand." A pause. "Well, no, I don't. I've never heard of magic that's based off a color," she admits. "I mean, some wizards back in my time had a flair for their art, but that was like always wearing a blue dress. It wasn't necessary but it had style."
