Ayana/Plot notes

Ayana is a Familiar

• This means Ayana is really, actually a fox pretending to be a girl.
  • She's much younger, physically, than she appears, which is part of why she sometimes acts less maturely.
  • The bond, however, has granted her additional maturity in other areas, so she averages out to about her apparent age.
• If the bond with Takashi is broken, Ayana will return to being a fox.
  • Ayana will lose her memories of time spent as a girl. This is so she can forget Riventon's civilian identity.
  • Ayana will quickly regain memories of anyone who takes a little time to interact with her again (one or two scenes at most for basic memory; up to a week or two for deeper relationships).
• Ayana does not have any magic of her own.
  • Ayana's player would prefer she always have fox-like features (ears, tails, cute little fangs, animal eyes), but is okay with losing them if it makes sense.

Ayana has a Nanoha-style device called "Still Night"

• This device allows her to channel mana in ways she cannot do on her own.
• Still Night was created by Riventon.
• Still Night has some overrides put in place during its creation.
  • For one thing, it can protect Ayana against large infusions of Dark Energy, allowing her to safely be filled with it without destroying her.
• Ayana may be able to keep Still Night if she is freed, depending on how that takes place. (She cannot keep it if her Theme changes.)

Ayana claims Riventon is her brother

• Ayana loves Riventon enough that she would kill for him, even when "grey" morality.
  • This is partly stockholm syndrome
  • This is partly legitimate love
  • This is partly a messed up morality
  • If freed from Riventon, Ayana will probably still think fondly of him
• Ayana does not want to hurt or fight against Riventon

Ayana has an emotional bond with Ikiko

• Forged by the Lycan Locket
• Dormant/broken state because of her time spent as a Heartless
• Short range
• Does not convey mana to Ayana, and cannot be used to sustain her if the bond with Takashi is broken.
• Not a familiar bond.

Ayana was formerly Heartless

• Ayana cannot experience positive emotions
• Ayana is fueled heavily by Dark Energy
  • Functions as a barrier against positive emotion attacks, such as Ikiko's howl
  • She can still be effected, but such attacks won't cleanse her outright
• Was cleansed by a combination of Yuzu "Orange" Purification, Ikiko's howl, and the magic of the Winter Solstice

Ayana is hiding her purified state from her master

• Ayana does not think she can do this for long
• Ayana will have to do some evil during this period or else he will kill her.
• Ayana fears dying.
