Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino spends her not-quite-leaving-school-yet time with the students near the benches comparing test scores and answers for the first big series of tests after returning from Winter break.

Specifically, she's comparing answers - all of her tests are perfect, and she's sharing answers or balling up paper and throwing them in/at/around a trash can and not really paying attention to the gaggle of girls around her asking her questions.

She's not answering. Instead, she's being dumb, making a mess, and not answering any questions about materials and instead just saying 'look at the papers' before delivering them via paper-airplaning them at peoples' faces.

Much to his surprise, Solomon really REALLY dislikes school. He thought it was a place to learn, but from what he can tell it is really a place to have overly dramatic relationships and complain while instructors talk about pointless things. At least that is the majority of it. Some of the information being taught is useful, and observing the other students helps him better learn how to blend in with the world - in theory. But right now? He's in bad need of help.

The young boy didn't want just anybody to tutor him. He needed somebody who was good at it. Asking around had returned the name Aino Minako. It was very easy to find out things about her - he gathered that she was rather popular for some reason. Popularity in Tokyo was another thing that puzzled him, but that could wait until later to be learned. Or never at all, really. Getting her general location was easy thanks to the test scores being posted. Finding her specific location was a breeze thanks to the people gathered around her and the paper airplanes being tossed about.

He is a little worried about what he sees. That does not seem like the scholarly type to him. Still, looks can be deceiving, so he heads towards the blonde in a direct line, ignoring the people and moving through them as best he can without actually shoving them out of the way.

"I have heard that you are good at teaching people." His voice is reserved, much like his eyes; a calm analysis of the less than serious girl before him.
Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino confirms this accusation with a nod of her head. She's drinking a soda and a fruit juice and one of them is apparently not hers, but she resists and demands to return it. It gets giggles from people.

"Ahhhh. Yaaah. That's true. If you hear about Minas and being good at things, it's a crazy rumor that goes around. But it's six-hundred percent true. All true. When it comes to being good, I'm the best!"

Cold blue eyes narrow slightly - partially in mild surprise, partially in confusion, and partly in scrutiny. Already this is not going how he had expected it to, and the foreign boy's face hints at this. It is several seconds before he concludes that her speech is at least partially an act, or at least deliberate.

"I would like you to tutor me." And should he be annoyed at her drink theft?!
Minako Aino has posed:
Nobody should be annoyed at her drink theft.

"Sure. Sure. Lots of people need me to tutor 'em up," Minako Aino says flippantly, dragging herself from a slouch over the sides of benches into a halfway decent sitting position. "I guess I can some more tutoring. Real fast like. I know all the answers," she says, tapping the top of her head as if revealing a mystery.

"Whatcha' need to be tooted in?"

Her manner of speaking has Solomon wondering if he's missing some subtext or being mocked somehow; she is much harder than most people to get a read on. At least nobody seems to be afraid of her or showing any repressed anger, so that means the drink "theft" wasn't a genuine issue.

"History. Math. English." He goes on to name every subject that students take except for P.E. and literature. Without any trace of shame, even.
Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino purses up her lips and stares for a few moments. "No no no," she says, sighing lengthily.

"I don't need to know what classes you're taking. Or your schedule. What classes do you wanna get some tutoring in? Which ones specifically? I need to know so I can check if I take it... or, ahhhh, I guess I can teach it even if I don't take it," she says, a pondering look on her face. "Fast and quick."

Well that explains why nobody was laughing at him. They thought he was listing his courses. Solomon tries again. "Those are the courses in which I need help." A gentle emphasis on the word 'are' there. "If that is too many for you to handle then I will accept help in whichever or however many you are willing to offer."
Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino starts to giggle a little bit. "That's ALLLL of them," she says, counting on her fingers. "Almost all of them, at least."

"Not counting study hall or free periods. But fiiine, I guess tutoring is easiest when it starts at the beginning easy stuff instead of the hardest stuff," she says, not sounding like she knows at all.

"Just pick whatever and I guess I'll do the tute'ing sometime when we're both free!"

There is only a mild hint of embarressment despite her amusement over just how much help he needs. Either he's ok with people thinking that he's an idiot or he's really straightlaced. Or possibly both.

"I need the most help with learning about Science. They did not teach Science where I am from. After that history."
Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino snaps her fingers. "Science. Yeah. Science is easy. History is harder, though. I can understand why you'd have trouble with history," she says, in a casual attempt at commiseration.

"It's 'cuz it happened so long ago."

"Anyways, sure. What sorta' work do you have? Do you have some papers or tests or whatever? Show me show me show me."

For his part, history was in of itself easy - he just lacked a basic framework or knowledge of Japan or world history. And knowledge of the Gregorian Calender. Science on the other hand, was unique to this world. He accepts her consoling with a simple nod, then sets down his backpack. Her impatience, or perhaps "enthusiasm" if one was being charitable, is beginning to annoy him; fortunately he is used to dealing with things that annoy him. See: Hinote and everything he says or does.

Several pages are removed, both quizzes. The scores are pretty bad, with marks off for missing very very basis things, like defining bushido as "something dead warriors did." Or under science, not knowing the 4 states of matter, listing them as Earth, water, air, and fire.
Minako Aino has posed:
Minako Aino clucks her tongue a few times. "Well, studying is my first suggestion. Also, not being a wise-ass. Teachers hate that," she comments, pulling out her pen.

"Even if you're right, they'll mark you wrong if they think you're bein' funny," she warns. As fast as she possibly can, she just scribbles like a lunatic over answers, marking as many answers correct in efficient, rapid, but sloppy handwriting. "Here. These are the right answers. The most important part of studying is knowing the right answers. That's ALSO the most important part of taking tests. Turns out if you got all the right answers, you'll pass every time," she says, phrased as scholarly counsel.

"I am rarely funny," he assures her. Solomon is, however, quite impressed. He can't be sure about all of them, but seeing the several of the answers makes him recall enough to know that she's correct. Another silent nod is given, a mild yet sincere sign of gratitude from him.

Her advice however, warrants a small frown. "The textbooks keep referring to things I do not understand, and so I have to read other books to read the textbooks. It is very time consuming." And frustrating. Mostly time consuming though - how was he supposed to spend 4 hours a day training when he had to spend 5 hours a day studying outside of class? Still, there is a reluctant nod from him as he conceeds the matter. "I will try to find the right answers."
