Dance the Night Away

Synopsis:	After announcing that she wishes to join WPS, Sayaka and Kyuoko share a dance and discuss an uncertain future..

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka had just announced her intentions to join WPS to Miss White, which had caused a shocked Kyouko to excuse herself from the table. At the same time, Homura and Madoka had left to dance, while Miss White decided to attend to other acquaintances, leaving Sayaka sitting alone at the table, wondering if she'd just made a huge mistake.

    With a sigh, she pushes her plate away and moves towards the dance floor, watching the various couples dancing happily with one another. Occasionally her gaze wanders towards Homura and Madoka, never having realized before now, just how much in love they are.

    If only she could experience that perfect love, just once..If only she could manage not to mess up again..

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    Kyouko, after hearing Sayaka ask Miss White about joining WPS, had stormed off to the bathroom. Well, stormed off isn't really accurate. More like she had tactfully withdrawn- for her, anyway. There's no doubt that she's upset- not, perhaps, as upset as she might have been, but not exactly happy.

    She's in the women's room now, which luckily is empty, pacing back and forth in front of the row of sinks, her mouth twisted slightly into a grimace as she tries to figure out what she should do. "I know she means well.." She mutters to herself. "I know she's doing it for the right reasons.."

    Eventually she has to come back. When she does, she finds the table abandoned.. but a quick glance around spots Sayaka near the dance floor. Taking a breath, she walks up beside her quietly. "Hey." She says, putting on a small smile as she watches the couples dance as well.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka blinks as she hears a familiar voice behind her. It causes her to smile a little, relieved that the fiery red head didnt decide to just leave after what Sayaka said..But maybe she's a little guilty now too, after what she said. Afterall, WPS is probably Kyouko's biggest enemy, even if Miss White did ask for forgiveness and a new beginning.

    "Kyouko..." She hesitates, uncertain of how to address her. Is she still mad at her? Is she acting cool? It's hard to tell, especially as Sayaka has been pretty distant herself lately.

    Slowly, she turns around to face her, uncertain of what mood Kyouko might be in. "I'm sorry, that came out wrong. I just....I just wanted to find purpose in my life. If fighting witches is the only thing I can be good at, the only thing I can find purpose in after learning everything, then...."

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    Kyouko glances up at Sayaka as the girl turns back to look at her. Unlike previous in the evening, she doesn't blush, or even seem that awkward. It's almost like getting upset finally gave her some level of comfort. Maybe she's just used to it. She gives another little smile, lopsided, maybe a little sad, but certainly not angry.

    "Nah, y'know what.. I understand. It's just.." She takes a breath, then looks up and meets Sayaka's eyes, her expression firm, maybe even a bit stern. "It's just that you could hunt Witches with /me/, Sayaka. We're partners. That ain't changed. You don't need Miss White and her goons. You got me. When you said that, I.. I thought maybe you thought I wasn't strong enough to hunt with."

    "But I know you didn't mean it that way." Her smile is back, and she shakes her head, ponytail swaying behind her. "I just.. I wish you would trust me, especially before /her./" She shoots a glance towards Miss White.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka sighs, hanging her head, feeling quite ashamed. Maybe it came out all wrong. "I guess..I figured she has all these resources, better ways of finding witches. I figured maybe we could BOTH come and work for her, but maybe I was just blinded by ambition, and a fear of letting you get too close, of letting you get hurt again because of me..."

    She bites her lip, looking away. "I...I know you're strong and you can take care of yourself. I guess I was worried I couldn't keep up with you, that maybe I'd slow you down and do something dumb to get in the way."

    Frankly, Sayaka looks really tired as she leans against the nearby wall, wishing she could be part of the fun instead of causing so much heartache for Kyouko. "I mean, everything that happened recently, is just so overwhelming.." She's not making much sense and she's confused, that much is certain.

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    Kyouko just looks at Sayaka for a moment as the other girl leans back agains the wall. She gives that little smile again, then turns and walks over to lean against the wall next to Sayaka- not touching her, just leaning there beside her and crossing her arms across her chest, watching the couples on the dancefloor. "I understand."

    "I remember.. back a few years ago, when all that stuff happened in my life, with my family dying and stuff. I remember how it felt. I know it's not the same- the stuff you're dealing with is different. But that feeling of everything being so awful, and nothing seeming to work the way you want it to.. I know that feeling."

    She looks over at Sayaka. "That's one of the reasons I first liked you, you know. You remind me a little of me.. before. Before all the awful stuff. And that's why I don't wanna see you fall apart the way I did. I did terrible, awful stuff, Saya-chan.. stuff I can never take back, and that I regret with all my being now. I don't want you to have those sorts of regrets. Not cuz I don't think you can handle it, but because seeing you hurting makes me feel.. well.. bad."

    She shakes her head. "I think you can keep up with me. But even if you /can't/, that's fine. You're new at this. You'll get better. And I'm willing to stay with you and make sure you do. It's like.. it's like a second chance for me, too. And maybe that's selfish but.." She grins slightly. "I'm kinda a selfish girl, I guess."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    She cant help but feel a little happy when Kyouko mentions what she likes about her, how much she reminds her of herself. To be honest, it's what drew Sayaka to Kyouko as well. Sayaka smirks, feeling almost like her old self again, now that she's next to Kyouko like this. "I know..You understand better than anyone. You've been through hell and back. But, would you be willing to devote every moment of your life to hunting witches, to trying to make up for all the people who might kill, when one day you become a witch too?"

    SHe sighs, "I dunno, maybe that's why I hesitated and asked to join WPS. But...I'd miss you too, if you didn't come with me. And I wanna train to become stronger, but...Listen, I just need to think things over a bit longer, okay? The one thing I know for sure, is that I still want you in my life.."

    And again, Sayaka's gaze wanders over towards Madoka and Homura, how happy they are together, how close they seem when they dance. "Kyou-chan..Just tonight, let's not think about tomorrow, and just live in the 'now'. I invited you all here so we could be happy and have fun together. And..." She reddens just a tiny bit.

    "Do you....Want to dance with me? Just this one time.."

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    "Saya-chan, this is what I told Madoka-chan when I was talking with her about this.. about the Witch thing, I mean." Kyouko says, serious as she glances over at Sayaka. "It's like an equation, right? We have this power.. it's great power. We can use it to make the world better. Maybe one day I'll become a Witch. I dunno- if I have my way, it'll never happen. That's how I have to think about it, anyway. But even if I do.. I want to make sure I've done enough good with this power before that to make up for any evil I might do a hundred times over. I think I can do that, and if I do, I think my life will have been worth it, even if I do do some bad at the end."

    "But we can make a pact too, right? You and me. Whichever of us goes first, the other one can stop her from doing anything, from hurting anyone. I'll make that pact with you, so you don't have to worry about it as long as I'm alive, and vice versa."

    When Sayaka asks about not thinking about tomorrow, she grins slightly. "I'm gonna confess somethin' to ya, Saya-chan.. I hardly ever think about tomorrow. Maybe that's bad in some ways, but sometimes it helps not to dwell on what you can't change."

    When she's asked to dance, she suddenly flushes, more than Sayaka. "U-um.. well.. yes, I do. Very much. But I.. can't really dance." She looks down. "It's not.. the sorta thing I ever had the chance to learn. I'd probably be awful at it."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka seems sad when Kyouko asks her to make a pact. To think that someday she might have to destroy Kyouko...She can't bring herself to ever do that. "But...But! Madoka saved Homura-san, so maybe she can do the same for us!"

    Sure, she's never seen it herself, and maybe Madoka cant save everyone at once, but maybe when the time comes, she'll be able to save them both, as long as they dont witch at the same time. Or if push comes to shove, Sayaka would make sure that Kyouko at least could be saved. She smiles, at least there's hope for at least one of them..

    "So..Maybe we should just have faith in Madoka and her new ability..But for now..Yeah, let's not think about these things. Let's just enjoy the 'here and now'. We're at a party. Let's try to have some fun, already!"

    And then she grins rather impishly, suddenly grabbing Kyouko's hand and dragging her towards the dance floor. "Dont worry! I'm not only a classical buff, but I have some training in ballroom dance too! Just mirror my movements! This is a salsa so it's pretty simple..Right - Left - Right...Left- Right - Left.."

    Sayaka rests one hand on Kyouko's hip, grasping her other hand with her own and gently sways to the music, encouraging her to mirror her own steps as she sways to the left then to the right..

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    "Yeah.. she did." The thought of Madoka's power, what she can do, seems to lift Kyouko's spirits slightly. "I guess.. well, I dun like to count on people. I never have. But I'm trying to change that. I want to count on you, Saya-chan, so maybe I can count on Madoka too. At least, it's enough to have that hope. Enough for now."

    She makes a startled sound as Sayaka grabs her hand and tows her onto the dance floor, but can't help but give a small laugh. "Alright.. but I warned you." Still, say what you will about how rough Kyouko can be.. she's graceful. Someone as skilled at fighting as she is almost has to be. She might not know the moves, but she doesn't trip, or step on Sayaka's toes. She's a quick learner.

    Her hand goes to Sayaka's shoulder, the other gripping the blue-haired girl's, and before long she's swaying along with her to the pace of the beautiful violin music. For a while, she's a bit tense, but slowly she relaxes.. unable to keep a small smile from her face. "I've never done anything like this before.." She murmurs quietly, so only Sayaka can hear. "It's.. kinda nice. Real nice."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka seems a bit more relaxed as she considers that for the first time. Of course! Why didn't she think of it sooner? Madoka may well be the only real hope for all Puella. And even if she can only purify one Puella at a time for now, perhaps one day she can save them all..But who will be there to save her, in the end?

    It's something Sayaka's been worried about ever since Homura told her why she was preventing her from becoming a Puella..However, Sayaka has enough on her plate as it is, and she'd rather not entertain such thoughts tonight. For once, she is going to enjoy the night with Kyouko!

    She continues to smirk at Kyouko, "Heh, I'll keep that in mind, fortunately I'm wearing a short dress so at least you cant trip on my hem!" she winks as she teases the redhead, leaning in a little to whisper in her ear. "Try to relax..You're so tense..Let's just enjoy this night, and forget everyone else here.."

    Naturally, the violin quartet begins to play a beautiful, slow romantic melody, just in time for their little dance. Sayaka closes her eyes a moment as she sways in time with the music, twirling Kyouko around, before performing some spins of her own.

    "I feel..More relaxed now, too.." she murmurs, leaning her head briefly on the other girl's shoulder.

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    If they really wanted to, Kyouko and Sayaka could probably do some pretty crazy moves- after all, having superpowers is good for that sort of thing! A few twirls is no problem at all, especially once Kyouko has relaxed and is able to stop worrying about tripping and messing up.

    When Sayaka tells her to relax, she gives a little laugh. "Here I am, in a room with my two former worst enemies, and you want me to relax?" She whispers back, but she's teasing, and gives a little smile afterwards. "Good thing you're here, Saya-chan. You block everything else out."

    When the romantic music starts, and Sayaka leans her head on Kyouko's shoulder, Kyouko tilts her own head sideways to lean against the top of Sayaka's. She sways quietly for a few moments with the other girl, and then very quietly says, "No matter what happens, Saya-chan, I'll be there to face it with you. I promise. Don't worry about hurting me. It hurts more to stay away than it ever could to be with you, even facing the worst dangers the world has to offer."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka smiles. Yeah, everything will be alright..She's certain of it! And even if she is still afraid of the unknown, in this one moment, she feels safe just being with Kyouko. After such a long separation, that yearning for her other half so to speak, is even stronger than before.

    "Heh. Just block everything else out and focus on me. It's what I'm trying to do." She smirks, "I'm not worried about you getting hurt physically y'know, I never doubted your fortitude. I guess..I just didnt want to disappoint you, more than anything. I didnt want to depend on you so much that I dragged you down with me. But maybe...Just the two of us are enough. Maybe together, we really can face anything.."

    She spins around again, letting go of Kyouko's hand, catching it from behind, dipping back dramatically before swinging around to hug in close with the red head. The song's almost over, but Sayaka's clinging to every last note.

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    Kyouko actually laughs again as Sayaka pulls off that dramatic little move- it's a laugh of delight, appreciating the grace and skill of her partner. "Don't worry about that." She says, with that roguish, lopsided grin showing off a single fang that is her trademark. "I'm strong enough to hold both of us up, if I need to."

    She spins with Sayaka a final time, and the song ends. She's left standing still, but still holding onto Sayaka, still holding her hand. She looks slightly up at the blue-haired girl (because Sayaka is taller than her, if only by an inch or two). "But I don't think I'll need to. You're strong too, Saya-chan. I been doin' this thing, huntin' Witches, being a Puella, for years now. You've only been doing it a few months. Already I can tell how strong you are. When you've been doin' it as long as I have, you'll probably make me look like a chump."

    She grins. "But even that's okay, cause we'll be on the same side." She shakes her head softly. "I can't join WPS, Saya-chan. I made peace with Miss White, but I can't work with her. I just can't. But if you think that's what you want to do.. well. I won't stop you. And I'll still hunt Witches with you too."

    Slowly she pulls away from the other girl, as people begin leaving the dance floor. "You couldn't keep me away if you tried." She winks, then smiles. "C'mon.. let's go back to the table." And then she's tugging Sayaka along by the hand, back towards their seats.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka smiles, eyes closed as she continues to fly around the dance flor, totally focused on Kyouko and no one else. And it seems to ease some of the pain she's been feeling over the last month or two, considerably.

    But there's still that feeling that she's two-timed Kyouko, when she asked to join WPS. Was she doing the right thing? Could she devote so much time to fighting alongside Kyouko and WPS at the same time? Surely, at one point or another, they would end up clashing. No...

    "I dunno...We'll always be on the same side. I can't say the same for Miss White. But....I just need to think on it some more I suppose. If it ends up we'd be enemies because of this, then maybe it's something I cant even consider."

    Then the song ends and she makes a face. "Aww, over so soon? Well...It was fun while it lasted.." And then she's getting tugged away, laughing and smiling at Kyouko.
