When Noisy Is Too Quiet
Date of Scene: 02 March 2016
Location: Pikarigaoka - Clover Street - North
Synopsis: Hibiki and Tsubasa respond to a Noise attack, but worry that something bigger might be coming.
Cast of Characters: Hibiki Tachibana, Tsubasa Kazanari

Hibiki Tachibana has posed:
It's just another day for the Symphogear Wielders of Section 2- which is to say, they've been called out in the middle of class to air-drop into a residential district in downtown Tokyo and respond to frantic emergency calls stating that 'weird monsters' (positively identified as Noise) were attacking people in the street.

Hibiki plummets down from the Section 2 helicopter that had delivered her, her brows drawn in determination. "Balwisyall nescell Gungnir tron~" the melody leaves her mouth, stolen away by the wind, but that hardly matters. In a burst of orange light she is suddenly clad in Gungnir, and she crashes to the pavement with a 'bang' that shakes nearby windows and leaves a car-sized crater in the asphalt. Bill it to Section 2 later.
Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
On the trip towards the Noise, Tsubasa had been quiet. The grim determination of a sentinel, and any attempts at conversation that may or may not have been made were steadily ignored. It's only when they get to the site that she does more than sit in silence, jumping out with no hesitation.

"Imyeteus Ame no Habakiri Tron~" Tsubasa's own melody is in synch with Hibiki's as she likewise falls down, landing with a bit more grace, her crater is only man-sized, and as she straightens herself, she draws her Katana, looking around and taking a good look at the Noise they're fighting.
Hibiki Tachibana has posed:
The Noise seem to be the standard type.. a couple of the man-sized green and orange ones, a bunch of the little blue blobs. Unlike in many incidents, there are none of the larger, 'boss-type' Noise visible. That said, there are still civilians around being menaced- a few unlucky residents are fleeing off to a side-street even now, with some Noise in pursuit.

"Tsubasa-san!" Hibiki calls, "Take out the Noise! I'll save those people!" And without waiting for a response, she's off, dashing across the street, her song ringing from her as she vaults over a car (crushing the windshield in the process), and kicking a blue blob Noise just before it hits one of the people, sending it flying aside to turn to ash.

"C'mon, this way!" Hibiki cries, gesturing to the scared civilians... but several Noise are approaching her from behind as she tries to shephard them!
Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
And Tsubasa doesn't wait in attacking the Noise, cutting through some until she notices Hibiki is getting approached, and likely attacked, from behind. It's then that she changes her path, her sword increasing in size as she jumps that way, her strike at the Noise uncomfortably close to Hibiki. "Pay attention to your surroundings."
Hibiki Tachibana has posed:
Hibiki turns just in time to raise an arm and block the attack of a Noise... only to have Tsubasa slice through it from behind, turning it to ash instantly. "I'm doing my best!" She breaks off her song long enough to say. "But I'm trying to save these people! That's more important than my own safety!"

She turns back to the civilians, pointing down the street where several Section 2 vans are now pulling up. "Down there, it's safe! Run!" As they take off running, she turns back to the Noise, gritting her teeth.

"Alright, enough playing around!" She falls into a martial arts stance, taking in a breath.. then begins unleashing a flurry of punches and kicks, knocking the small noise aside like nothing with her fists as she seeks to simply destroy them as quickly as possible.
Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"Can't save people when you're dead." Tsubasa chastises Hibiki, though there's not quite the harshness that it may have had in the past. She heads the other way from Hibiki, to watch the other girl's back as she attacks one of the Noise in that direction. And for the ones that aren't quite as easily reached in melee, blue energy forms into blades up in the air, rapidly until they come crashing down.
Hibiki Tachibana has posed:
Hibiki's attacks aren't flashy- she punches and kicks and generally just pounds Noise into oblivion. However, there's a grace to her movements, a fluidity that she didn't have when she first started. It's obvious her lessons with Genjuuro-sama are bearing fruit. She smashes her fist into yet another of the man-sized Noise, on the last note of her song..

Just as one of the huge man-like ones rounds a nearby building, nearly as tall as the building itself, a few stories at least! "Tsubasa-san!" She cuts off singing to point and cry out the warning. "Look out! It's one of the big ones!" Rather than rush towards it, she falls back as it advances down the street, its footsteps making rumbling booms as it walks.
Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
And Tsubasa can't help but notice the change in Hibiki's fighting style. She doesn't mention it, but she can tell, "Got it." She responds, then returns to singing as she jumps upwards, running along the wall until she kicks herself off, using her sword to attack the big one in passing, then rolling as she lands to break her fall.
Hibiki Tachibana has posed:
Hibiki has a problem, in that her fighting style, such as it is, isn't that much use against these huge ones- at least, not without a good bit of preperation. She does what she can against the smaller Noise, punching and kicking them out of the way, leaping over cars in the process, singing the whole while, clearing them out, but constantly falling back as the giant Noise advances down the street towards where the Section 2 vans have set up a perimeter.

"We have to stop it before it gets past the perimeter!" She calls to Tsubasa. Glancing around, she reaches over and... rips a light pole out of the ground with one hand as if it weighed nothing at all. Turning, she hurls it like a javelin at the large noise. It punctures straight through its body, sticking half out its back... but doesn't really seem to slow it at all.
Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
Tsubasa agrees with Hibiki's stance on timing, and thus she throws her sword into the air, where it grows, and grows. She herself takes the opportunity to race alongside the walls, up to a roof and then kicking herself off again, reaching the hilt of her own blade right as it approaches its largest size.

And that's when the magic happens, gravity and blue magical energy push Tsubasa and her massive sword alike, right towards this big Noise, her eyes firmly on it, and ready to adjust the weapon's trajectory should it prove necessary.
Hibiki Tachibana has posed:
Those big Noise are dangerous and frightening, but they aren't very nimble.. it makes no move to dodge Tsubasa's attack, and the huge sword, guided by Tsubasa, smashes through it, cutting it cleanly in two and turning the whole thing into ash.

Hibiki, meanwhile, is nearby, punching a last man-sized Noise into dust as she cheers Tsubasa on. "You did it, Tsubasa-san!" It seems like the area is clear of Noise for now, the Section 2 personelle down at the cordon starting to give people the usual spiel and make sure all the civilians are safe. Hibiki stops her song, though she keeps Gungnir summoned, glancing around the street.

"That wasn't too bad, actually.." She says, with a little laugh, raising a hand to the back of her head.
Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"That's the problem." Tsubasa sounds a little grim when she responds to Hibiki, looking around at the aftermath of their little fight. "The numbers suggest that we should be seeing a big attack again soon, so why was this not it?" Her blade shrinks to its smallest size, a simple Katana, but she keeps it in her hand, keeping her eyes open for anything else.
Hibiki Tachibana has posed:
"I've been worried about that, too." Hibiki confesses, glancing around the empty street one more time before turning her eyes back to Tsubasa. "I feel like we should have seen something bigger again by now.. I don't like it. It almost seems too calculated. And we still don't know where the Noise are coming from in the first place..'

She definitely sounds worried, chewing her lower lip as she glances up at her sempai, both in school and in fighting the Noise. "I sure hope that we'll be ready for it when whatever it is does happen."
Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
"Well, until we know more there's not much we can do but be vigilant." Tsubasa settles on, satisfied Hibiki's noticed the same problems she has, and gets out her receiver, "Area appears secure, looking for stragglers." She informs her uncle and the other staff of Section two, looking through the emptied buildings to check for any Noise they may have missed.
Hibiki Tachibana has posed:
Hibiki follows suit, checking around for several minutes, in the buildings and down side-alleys, until she's satisfied that they haven't missed anything, that all the Noise in the area have been destroyed. Finally, walking back out onto the street between the buildings, she de-henshins, returning to her school uniform.

"Miku's going to be mad I missed class again.." She says, with a little sigh, her eyes turning towards the civilians being helped by the Section 2 personelle a little down the road. "But in this case I think it was worth it."
Tsubasa Kazanari has posed:
Tsubasa also de-henshins at that point, "I think she'll understand, in this case." She mentions, though she sounds somewhat reserved about it, like she isn't quite certain what Miku will think. "Let's go over the data of this attack after school." And then she gets into one of the Section two vans.
