Date of Scene: | 01 July 2015 |
Location: | Uminari City - Seishou Public School |
Synopsis: | Kurota and Ayano run across each other after school. |
Cast of Characters: | Kurota Aizawa, 76 |
- Kurota Aizawa has posed:
School is out, which means a flood of people all scrambling to exit the building. Usually it's pretty orderly, the lower grades at the bottom of the building exiting before the upper floors so that the whole building like a bucket with a hole in the bottom. But then you've always got the people going to clubs, meeting friends, or otherwise not simply leaving, which leads to the general milling chaos you get anytime a large group of people all try to move at once.
Amidst this familiar jumble of people, Kurota Aizawa is making his way out of the school building. He's in his school uniform (dark blue slacks and a blue jacket over a white shirt and red tie) but, as is his wont, his shirt is untucked and it doesn't look like he put much effort into getting that tie right. He's also wearing a pair of large black headphones with blue LED lights on his head, ears comfortably obscured. He walks along with his hands in his pockets, casually dodging people as they rush to and fro, his pace unhurried. He doesn't have a club to get to afterall, since the school shut his down!
- Ayano Koizumi (76) has posed:
Ayanos eyes flicker over the crowd of souls moving in front of her, reading which ones are in need of saving. No one looks /that/ bad, right now, so she looks at people who might just not be doing the best.
Her eyes settle on Kurota coming out of the school. Grew up a pianist. Club suspended for several months. Now... shutting out the world outside by listening to music instead? A moments hesitation, but she has to act before the opportunity passes.
She moves into the flow, absurdly graceful in her oversized uniform and backpack, heading the opposite direction of the crowd. And this obstacle, he cant easily dodge, because she shifts in front of him, moving in front of him as he moves, anticipating him like a dancer or martial artist. He might be able to get past her regardless, but it would take a bit more effort. Shes facing him, her dark brown eyes staring up at his, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
Her lips move to form a word. Aizawa-san.

- Kurota Aizawa has posed:
Kurota is not really used to people getting in his way. At least, not so insistantly. When the girl, a couple years younger than himself, begins inserting herself into his path, he at first tries to step around her- but this clearly doesn't work. After a few moments of this, it seems to register that she isn't going to let him just get by. Then she greets him by name- he can't hear her, the music thumping away in his headphones prevents it. But years of wearing the things have given him a not-inconsiderable skill in reading lips, or at least getting the gist of what people are trying to say to him, so he figures it out. A quick flick of the mp3 player hidden in his pocket shuts off the music, although he doesn't remove the headphones.
"Can I help you?" He asks, quirking an eyebrow as his bright blue eyes peer down at the shorter girl, his tone somewhere between annoyed and laconically curious.
- Ayano Koizumi (76) has posed:
Ayano smiles, as if that was a genuine offer of aid. "I don't need help, but thanks for asking." She pauses, furrows her brow. "Can I help you, Aizawa-sempai?" Despite using a respectful suffix, she sounds utterly serious about this, almost as if she thinks of him as a troubled junior rather than a social superior or even equal.
She stands on her toes, reaching a finger up to tap the side of his headphones twice, lightly, enough to cause a bit of a thumping sound for him. "People don't usually block out the world when things are going well, and I've seen you wearing headphones a lot lately. You've been focusing on somewhere besides this world for a while..." She tilts her head a bit to one side. "...right?"
- Kurota Aizawa has posed:
The other eyebrow which had not yet been raised soon joins its mate as Kurota regards this peculiar girl in front of him. He doesn't react negatively to her tapping on his headphones- he's not the type to freak out over her touching his precious stuff or anything, despite some maybe seeing that as an invasion of personal space. Rather, he sounds wryly amused as he replies to her statement. "That's assuming an awful lot, Samaritan-chan. I happen to like music- it ain't a crime. I like it a lot more than the sound of people nattering at me. But that doesn't mean I'm shutting out the world or anything like that. I happen to like the world- after all, the world is where the music is, right?"
He moves as if to walk around her again. "So while I appreciate your random gesture of kindness, I can assure you that actually, I'm fine and I don't need any help. Unless you know a good hook for a new track, I've been trying to come up with one for our show tomorrow night.."
- Ayano Koizumi (76) has posed:
Helpful Meddler Samaritan-Chan watches him carefully as he speaks, trying to ascertain how much of his reaction is a mask and how much of that is genuine. Either way, though - she bows slightly. "Sorry for interrupting your music with nattering, Aizawa-sempai." She doesn't try to step in his way this time, just turns to watch him leave. "I don't have your skill in music, so I doubt I could help. Good luck with your show."
- Kurota Aizawa has posed:
Kurota is about to do just that when he hesitates for a moment. He doesn't know /why/ this girl who he's never met suddenly decided that he needed some kind of intervention, but that doesn't mean that he's insensitive to the benevolence behind her actions. He's not the type to get pissed at somebody offering to lend a hand, even if no hand is actually needed. And he doesn't want to seem like an a-hole.
So he turns and reaches into his pocket. "Thanks. Feel free to drop by if you're in the neighborhood.. and it ain't past your bedtime." He hands over a business card- it's black with glowy blue writing, and is for a club in the Neon District, called The Glowing Pineapple. "That's where we play usually. 8pm. All ages, no alcohol is served, so you don't have to worry about that. Always room for one more, yeah? You can find out for yourself if we managed to come up with anything good."
- Ayano Koizumi (76) has posed:
Ayano blinks as he turns back. She blinks, eyebrows furrowing again, chews her lip a little at the invitation to watch them play. It takes her a moment to assemble the right words, and she carefully takes the business card with both hands in the meantime. "Ah, well, it'd be nice to see you-" A frown flickers over her lips as she shoves the business card in her pocket. "Well, to see the band play, if I'm not too busy with..." She adjusts a backpack strap."...extracurricular activities?" She glances up at him, eyebrows raised slightly, smiles briefly. "Later." And with that she tries to disengage, via weaving through the oncoming crowd.
- Kurota Aizawa has posed:
Kurota shrugs at the reply. "Hey, if you can't make it, no big. Just thought I'd offer, always good to make new fans." He says, offering a sly wink before turning back the way he had come. "See ya 'round, kid." And with that he continues on his way as well, flicking his music back on to drown out the sounds of the schoolyard with the comforting thump of bass as he makes his way towards the gate and his scheduled rehersal with his bandmates downtown.
