Synopsis: Ikiko gives Ayana some gifts for White Day -- and neither of them are chocolate.
Cast of Characters: Ikiko Hisakata, Ayana

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
White Day: the counterpart to Valentine's Day, where boys give chocolate in response to the chocolates that girls gave them one month ago. A perfect time to confirm a relationship between a boyfriend and a girlfriend.

When the relationship is between two girls instead, the situation requires a bit of... sideways thinking to resolve.

Ikiko arrives home and heads up to the room that she shares with her beloved Ayana, not too much past when she'd normally arrive after club activities. But instead of Animal Care club stuff, she had done some last minute shopping -- the better to hide things from the kitsune's skillful nose.

"I'm home~!" Ikiko calls as she heads up the stairs, carrying her backpack and a small shopping bag.
Ayana has posed:
As has become the norm for Ayana, she has spent the day mostly in idle laziness. Certainly there are chores on her todo list, but she managed to sneak out of them by promising to do them 'tonight'.

Thus, the Kitsune has mostly slept. All day. This is why she does not rush to greet Ikiko at the door. And this is why she does not bound down the stairs to pounce her girlfriend at the first sound of her.

Because Ayana is still curled up in her bed (her own bed, for a rare moment), dressed only in a long teeshirt, her hair all a mess, her tails all every which way, and her ears twitching as a fly buzzes past.

When Ikiko calls up the stairs, those ears twitch once again, but this time it is in anticipation rather than irritation. Slowly, the kitsune opens her eyes, as if trying to decide whether she really did hear Ikiko.

Then the sound of footsteps reach her ears, and she sits very suddenly upright. "Iki-chan," she says, managing to make it no further than the edge of the bed when Ikiko opens the door to their bedroom.
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata smiles warmly at her girlfriend. "Good afternoon, sleepyhead," she giggles, closing the door behind her before bounding over to give Ayana a quick kiss. "And happy White Day!"

She lets her backpack drop to the floor, then pulls out two boxes. The smaller one isn't much bigger than about a half-dozen decks of playing cards, while the larger one is about the same general size as a laptop, decorated with a paper heart, and has a rather tasty scent coming from it...

"Which would you like to open first?" Ikiko asks with a bright smile, holding the boxes out to the kitsune.
Ayana has posed:
Ayana blinks in confusion. Not at the kiss, of course--that she appreciates. But her sleepy brain is struggling with processing the boxes and the paper heart and the fact that she gets to open them.

"Mmmhhhrrr?" she mumbles confusedly, then looks up at Ikiko. "Wha?" she asks again. Then it dawns on her what day it is and her eyes widen a little. "Iki-chan," she mumbles. "You got me chocolates?" She smiles and leans forward to hug her girlfriend tightly, then kisses Ikiko on the stomach (it's less effort than lips) before leaning back to take the first of the boxes--the larger one, of course.
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"Not chocolates," Ikiko corrects with a grin. "It's something more... fitting for your preferences." Besides, chocolates are normal and expected; someone as unique as the kitsune deserves a more unique gift!

Inside the box are thin, rolled-up slices of various meats. And not just any meat; these are some of the fancy~ meats -- Italian names (written on little tags next to each flavor), and priced similar to fancy chocolates.

"You'll definitely want to savor those," Ikiko remarks. "I've heard that they're really good -- like, fancy restaurant good -- and I got some advice from mom before I made my plans to pick these up."
Ayana has posed:
Ayana's eyes widen, and her mouth waters, at the sight of all of the delicious collection of meats and sausages. "Mama helped you pick these?" she asks, eyeing Ikiko with wonder in her eyes. She smiles and bounces a little on the edge of her bed, then realises it's jostling the meats. She hunts through them carefully, picks one she doesn't reocgnize at all, and then closes the box on the rest.

Ayana sets the box aside, then holds up the little package to show Ikiko what she's pulled out: Speck Alto Adige. Because of course she managed to pick the bacon first.

Ears wiggling with excitement, Ayana carefully unwraps the package, then sniffs the meat once before sticking a small piece of it into her mouth. Her eyes widen in excitement as she savors the flavor--she even manages NOT to swallow right away--before she makes a very happy face and offers a piece to Ikiko to try.

Then, she sets the Speck aside and reaches for the other box curiously.
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata nods to Ayana. "We talked about it the last time I went shopping with her, and I made a list of them," she explains as she accepts the piece of Speck. "I did the actual shopping today, so that it'd be a surprise!"

A blissful expression crosses her face as she chews on the Speck. Oh, this stuff is very good, indeed!

Ikiko regains her focus, then hands the second box over to the kitsune. "This one's more for the heart than for the stomach," she explains shyly, taking the lid off of the box. Inside is a leash and a collar, matching in a red color. The notable thing is that it's Ikiko's name on the tag on the collar!

"Because I'm yours, and I feel safe with my heart in your hands," she murmurs sheepishly, a slight blush crossing her cheeks.
Ayana has posed:
Ayana leans forward and crosses her legs as she opens the box, very confused by Ikiko's shy explanation.

Confused, that is, right up until she gets the cover off of the box. Ayana's jaw drops instantly, and she stares up at Ikiko with startled surprise. "Iki-chan," she mumbles for the third time in one day. "Did you ask mama about this too?" she asks, curiously. Almost with reverence, Ayana takes the collar and leash out of the box, then studies them curiously. Drawing the woven threads through her fingers, she rubs them gently, then asks, "Are you sure you want to wear a collar?" she asks Ikiko uncertainly. "It ... it kinda sends a message. And also if you aren't used to it it can chaffe a little. I really really really love it, and if you don't want to wear it I'll put it on our nightstand and it will make me think of you whenever I see it."
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"I only asked mom for advice on the meats," Ikiko replies with a shake of her head. "She doesn't know about this one."

She listens to Ayana's other question, and thinks it over for a few moments. "I think I'll wear it when we're on actual official dates," she finally replies. "As a match to your collar."

She leans forward and gives her girlfriend a quick kiss on the cheek. "Thanks for thinking of concerns that I hadn't thought of, beloved," Ikiko murmurs, then giggles slightly. "I still can't shake the image of us walking along together, hand in hand, with the blue leash wrapped around my arm and the red leash wrapped around your arm."
Ayana has posed:
Ayana just giggles at the mental image, then undoes the collar's clasp and holds it up to Ikiko offeringly. "We probably don't want to do that," she notes to her girlfriend. "Amusing as the mental image is, that's just begging for us to wind up hopelessly tangled and have to beg some strtanger for help untying us."

As soon as Ikiko comes close enough to put the collar on, though, Ayana leans forward to kiss Ikiko, deeply and passionately on the lips, before she clasps the collar around the werewolf's neck. She's careful to make it taught, rather than loose--the less it slides the less it will chaffe. But not so taught that it causes Ikiko to choke.

"Just wear it for the day," she suggests quietly. "You should make sure you're really comfortable in these. They're ... adifferent experience," she says with a grin. "But I really like them." Obviously.
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata giggles slightly. "I was thinking of keeping the leashes unhooked from the collars," she explains. "That way, the connection is implied through the matching colors, instead of a literal connection."

She kisses back with equal passion, then tilts her head from side to side once the collar is secured. "Not too bad," she remarks. "So far, at least. Bit of a different sensation as Ikiko instead of Tsukiko, but the Lycan Locket's collar is created from magic, not mundane materials."
Ayana has posed:
"And it's far softer," Ayana notes with some amusement. "You can actually get collars that are lined with fur or something. Maybe if you don't like how that feels we could get it lined for you," she suggests, then leans forward to wrap her arms around the girl.

"Thank you," she says honestly after a moment's throught. "I really didn't expect you to get me anything today. But you really really thought about it a lot more than I did for Valentine's Day." A pause, and then she squeezes before saying, "I love you."
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata snuggles and kisses. "And I love you, my darling Ayana," she murmurs. "You did good for Valentine's Day; in fact, you inspired me, and that's why I stepped it up today. You are my beloved, and I always want to do what I can to keep you happy. And safe, but I think we're doing well on that."

She reaches up and skritchies the kitsune's ears. "Y'know, I just realized something," she muses. "With me giving you White Day gifts, does that mean that I'd be the one wearing a suit for formal events?"
Ayana has posed:
Ayana leans into those scritches like the ocean leans into the beach. She sighs happily, then mumbles a soft, "hnnh?" at Ikiko's musing.

The actual realization draws a snort of amusement from Ayana, who squeezes Ikiko again and then drags her--bodily--into the kitsune's bed to continue snuggling.

"If you'd rather wear a dress, I won't mind," she promises quietly as she hugs Ikiko tight. "You're a girl, I'm a girl, we're both girls, and people can deal with it. Neither one of us has to be the 'boy'. I mean, I like that you are giving me things on White Day and me you on Valentines' day just because it makes each day special for one of us. Especially since I don't have a birthday." Birthday! That's soon! "But I bet you'd look really pretty in a suit, too."
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"Mmm," Ikiko replies, enjoying the cuddles. True, Ayana doesn't have a day that could be considered a birthday... but isn't a birthday just a celebration of the anniversary of life?

But that can wait for now. She's in the arms of a happy foxgirl, and the school year ends in a week and a half. Two unrelated things, but both are very good things. Now is a time to enjoy the moment; future plans can wait until it is closer to their time.
