Reiko Touyama has posed:
It's after school and Reiko walks out of class taking a deep siggggggggggh. So does a magical koi that pops over her shoulder, then dissapers into an orange sparkle. So far. No one's seemed to have noticed her little friends appearing, then dissapearing so fast. It's kind of weird to her. She's really regretting drawing all those pictures, and small drawn pages of such things happening. You really don't think about such things when you never expect a personal fantasy and game to become real.

She walks over to a bench in front of the school and flops down. This has been a pretty rough week, all things considered and she really hasn't taken the time to reflect on this all. Apparently, the world wasn't just filled with Shades, but Demons and Mean Catboys with Tinyer catboys.

Really, it drove her up a wall. Who could she even SPEAK all this about. Mei. Of course, but Mei was very busy dealing with Momo being sick. It felt wrong to bug her about things right now. Even if she desperatly needed the information.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata walks out of her class, somewhat lost in thought. It's been nearly a full week since she found the Lycan Locket and inadvertently activated it; a full week of discovering that there is more to magic than just curses, and that there are other magical folk out there, both nice and annoying.

A patrol last night hinted that her wolven abilities aren't linked to the phases of the moon -- useful to know, especially as the moon wanes. Still, having somebody -- anybody -- to talk to about the quirks of being a magical girl would be useful. She can't exactly talk to her family; the locket was /supposed/ to be sealed away and left where it couldn't empower the trace wolf spirit in her family's blood.

As she walks along with a sigh, she spots Reiko sitting on one of the benches. Ikiko smiles; who better to talk to than a friend who is a fellow magical girl? "Hi Reiko!" she waves as she walks over.

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama puts down her backpack and picks out her koi-shaped bento box. (Because of course she has a koi shaped bento box.), and peeks it open. Lunch leftovers because she was too busy drawing before lunch period ended. She Picked out one of the riceballs and popped it into her mouth---- grandpa always knew just what to pack. It made her smile.

She head tilts a Ikiko---oh! Right! She's.. that wolfgirl. "Hi Ikiko!" she says happily. "School was busy today." she says. "So..now I'm eating lunch leftovers. Um...do you... want one?" she asks, holding out the bento with the couple of rice balls in them.

"Oh! Are.. um. You okay. From the other night?" she asks curiously.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"Well, if you're offering, how can I turn it down?" Ikiko smiles as she sits on the bench and accepts one of the rice balls. "I think I'm okay; no lasting effects." Well, other than the memory of water in the ears when she tried listening to the koi afterwards. A harmless learning experience, but not one she's in a hurry to repeat.

She takes a bite or two of the riceball before continuing. "How about yourself? Is everything alright with you?" She knows that werewolves can shrug off damage, but she's not as sure about other magical girls. Besides, Reiko looked like she had a lot on her mind when Ikiko saw her. "Anything you want to talk about?"

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama tilts her head and seems deep in thought. A koi pops into existence seeming to put it's fin on it's chin in deep thought. It lasts all but a moment. She speaks up. "Just... getting used to the weirdness. Like that." she says. "I don't.. think other people see them..or if they do they just...ignore it? I mean. Yeah." she says.

She takes another rice ball and pops it into her mouth. "Red's... busy taking care of her sister, so... I haven't had much chance to discuss... things with someone and just feels weird needing to keep a secret." she admits a little bashfully.

"I'm not even sure my grandpa would understand." she says softly.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko's eyes barely flicker when the koi makes its appearance. "Could be," she agrees. "Maybe you need magic in order to be able to see magic. Or maybe people just convince themselves that there's a mundane reason for what they thought they saw."

She nods sympathetically at Reiko's plight. "Well, you could always discuss things with me," she offers. "I might not know as much as Red, but having someone to talk to might still help, especially when it's about things you can't explain to others."

There's a slight wince at the mention of grandfathers. "Not being able to talk about this kind of stuff with your family is rough," she sighs gloomily. "Making sure that it remains a secret is even rougher."

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama nods. "I don't think my parents would even hear me if I tried to tell em. So I guess it really doesn't matter much..." she says, perhaps a little bitterly. "Grandpa.. might. But. He might just think it's just part of a silly story or something." she says meekly. She peeks down into the box, and offers the last rice ball to Ikiko.

"It's okay to take it." she nods matter of factly.

She sighs. "I dunno. I don't think .. Red even knows what's going on-- and Roy or Biv don't have many answers either..." she says.

"Oh--uh. Roy is.. a cardinal. He talks! So is Biv! Well. Biv is a bluebird.. not a cardinal." she says gently.

"They're supposed to be guides for the Prism Keepers.. that--- also kinda happened when the rest of this stuff did." she says softly.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata accepts the offered riceball with a smile and a murmur of thanks. She's in mid-bite when Reiko explains about Roy and Biv, so she hurriedly chews that bite. "They talk? Like 'actually speaking Japanese' talking?" she asks, her voice less incredulous and more 'did I hear that right?' in tone. The fact that talking animals exist is pretty believeable given what magic can do, but it's still surprising to hear about!

Something about the names of the birds reminds her of something, and the name of the group brings it into focus. "Roy and Biv? Like the initials of the rainbow?" she checks, wondering about the source of the names.

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama nods. "Yup! Roy, Gigi and Biv! but Gigi is just a baby n' stuff." she says. "They talk like you or I. Just speech. It's not like I can understand bird." she says. "But yeah, Red thought it was a clever name for them!" she beams. "And it kind of is!" she remarks.

She closes her bento and puts it back in the bag.

"Honestly, I'm gonna try to con Roy into posing for a picture for me so I can enter a nature art show next week." she says conspiratorily. "He already said no, but Imma gonna try anyways!" she insists.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata giggles at Reiko's plan! "It /is/ a pretty clever name for them," she agrees. "And good luck with drawing Red!"

She sighs, a wistful smile on her face. "I kinda envy you," she admits. "Having magical animals to go with your magical stuff, I mean. Even if they don't know all of the answers, they can at least cheer you on."

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama she giggles. "Well. It's nice to have new friends. Even if they're a little weird." she admits. She head tilts a little. "What's it like talking to dogs?" she asks. "Still wish I could... talk with koi." she admits sheepishly.

"I guess it was silly of me to try." she says gently. "I could have a pool of friends in my backyard to talk to then!" she beams.

"But that's still a bit away." she says with a series of matter of fact nods. "Can't wait to have my own koi pond~" she admits.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"It's..." Ikiko pauses a moment, trying to figure out how to explain it. "It's just like speaking a language. It's as easy to understand as Japanese, it's as easy to /speak/ as Japanese -- but it's not Japanese, and I know that."

She shrugs. "I can't explain it much better than that. Cats are like a language that I know the words for, but aren't quite fluent with, and birds -- normal birds, that is -- well, I can recognize key words, but I can't make sentences out of them either way." And, like Reiko, she apparently can't understand fish at all, or at least not well enough to tell that they're talking.

"At least you tried!" she adds encouragingly. "You didn't know if you could, so you tried for yourself. Nothing silly about that!"

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama smiles a bit. "Koi just make me feel peaceful." she says. "Just wish both times I tried I wasn't... accousted by some demon jerk or catboy there..." she grumbles. "I was looking weird enough without the whole other stuff making me look sillier." she huffs. "That tinier catboy was harrasing the koi!" she says.

"I couldn't just let him do that! They're not kitty snacks!" she insists sharply!

She huffs.

"I do.. wonder what else is out there." she murmurs.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata nods understandingly. "Being around dogs has always made me feel better, too," she notes. "Even before the bit with the locket."

She laughs slightly at the memory of the smaller of the two catboys. "It might be tempting to dunk him in the water, but definitely not around the koi pond," she muses. "Otherwise he might try grabbing for a koi again."

Reiko's wondering brings a thoughtful expression to Ikiko's face. "I'm not sure," the older girl finally admits. "Each time I see something new, it amazes me with what magic is capable of. Maybe someday it'll stop being so surprising and amazing..."

A slight smile crosses her face. "But probably not any time soon."
