Synopsis: | Hannah Sharpe, Naru Osaka, and Sora Hisakata converge on Game Center Crown during the rain. Dating, kickboxing, and EXTROVERSION happens! |
Cast of Characters: | Hannah Sharpe, Naru Osaka, Sora Hisakata |
- Hannah Sharpe has posed:
It's a rainy day outside the Game Center Crown, and exams are looming! At least for Infinity, anyway. Fresh off her family reunion, she's stuck with a pile of makeup work! Hannah has her feet kicked up, a milkshake by a pile of books, and a certain fluffy husky with his head in her lap. Sloooow tail-wag. Every now and then, she'll run her hand over her textbook, then let out a long yawn.
"Ugh. I hate make-up work. Heeeey, 'Toki! One more please!"
- Naru Osaka has posed:
A rainy day and Naru hurries into the arcade, shaking off her jacket as she comes to the warmth and dry inside. Her school satchel caught the worst of it and she frowns as she unshoulders it and drifts over to a table to set it down and examine the damage.
"Well. Drat." Naru pulls out a soggy pencil box, followed shortly by a soggy around the edges notebook and she sighs.
- Hannah Sharpe has posed:
One new milkshake later, a few calculus problems down, and Hannah catches the 'drat' a table over. Blink. Abandoning the suffering of math, she stands up and grabs Boris' lead. A few seconds later, Boris gives a happy woof, and is snuffling at Naru's leg and wagging that tail!
"Hey, Boris, don't be a jerk. Hey there. You okay?" She asks, giving a warm smirk.
"Let me guess, all wet? Here." She picks up her bookbag she's dragged over, and produces a few empty notebooks and dry pencils. A towel too.
"Here, dry off." If Naru isn't careful, Hannah will take that towel to her head to 'help'.
"Hannah Sharpe, nice to meetcha!"
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Oh!" Naru startles from her careful peeling open of her notebook at a nose to her leg and a woof. She looks down first and then up and there's a blink and a smile. "Hi." She greets Hannah first and feels that familiar sense of impending extrovert coming on.
Another glance down and Naru smiles, offering Boris his own greeting too. "Hi there to you as well."
She looks up and her expression turns a touch sheepish. "I'm fine, if damp. It was just spitting and then about ten steps from the door.. woooosh. Downpour." She gives a little shake of her head, in irritation at the unfairness of the universe, making her damp hair shake a little.
"At least the pages aren't sticking together, and .. okay a few of them are running?" She hopes, her voice making it a question, and possibly a plea to the very same universe that drenched her so close to the warmth of the arcade.
"Um. Nice to meetcha Hannah. And Boris. I'm Naru Osaka." Naru offers and looks a little surprised as she ends up be-towelled. "You carry a towel with you? You're really prepared!"
- Hannah Sharpe has posed:
"Usually how it goes. Rain is the cat of weather, always plotting your demise."
"Sounds like they'll survive at least!" More hoping. Hannah's totally crossing her fingers for the survival of those papers.
"You can pet him by the way." Cue big blue husky eyes looking imploringly at Naru!
A shrug on the towel. "Eh, Dad was a marine, plus I was planning on going to the gym after I studied. Got the preliminary tournament before nationals, can't let Infinity U down!" Cue a fist to the air!
"Anyway, what school are you from? Mind if I sit? Sorry, math exams coming up, and they're boring me to death, so if I chat your ear off too much while you're studying, tell me to shove it." Wink. She's already piling over books, an earpierce, and an audio book as well as a braille typewriter. Milkshakes too.
Poor Naru is being invaded already.
"Heeeey, 'Toki-kun! Get Naru here whatever she wants!" At least Hannah is paying in delicious food and drink.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Cats /are/ like that." Naru agrees as she reaches down to obligingly scritch the husky, to offset some of the pleading coming from Boris. He's horribly neglected, clearly.
There's a little laugh and Naru leaves off the scritching to be able to towel herself off and also some of her schoolbag and books. "Preliminary tournament in what? You're at Infinity? So's Endy, I think. Er.. Mamoru." Naru corrects herself after only a moment with a gesture that speaks to being entirely comfortable in being invaded.
"I'm at Seishou Public." Naru explains as she patpats at her notebook. "Chatter seems pretty normal, my bestie is really good at both chatting /and/ being super friendly. Wow, I'm really glad I didn't have a computer wiht me today, that'd be way worse than just my sketchbook."
A thoughtful moment on the subject of food and drink and then Naru decides on fries, calling out her order in her desire to have somethign warm.
- Hannah Sharpe has posed:
Leaning into those scritches, Boris makes a contented ruff! Soon enough, the big lug is curling around naru's feet and ankles! You're trapped, oh no!
"Kickboxing Club! I'm the team captain and club president for three years running!" Cue a flex. Someone's definitely in shape!
A brow rises. "...Wait, hold up, you know Mamo? Yeesh, small world. I have no idea how big, tall, and anti-social gets so many loyal friends, but...eh, he's worth it." Griiin. A fond one, even if she's slagging him off.
Wince. "Yeeeah, I hate lugging this thing around in the rain. Thank god for tape recorders." Tap tap a knuckle on the typewriter.
"Hmm. Let me think: chatty, super friendly, just a liiiiittle bit dense at times? This bestie wouldn't happen to have the most amazing set of twintails, does she?" Hannah's hands make some odangoes on the side of her head!
Fries coming up!
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Well now you know how I know Mamo." Naru laughs a little as she sets the towel aside and devotes her time to scritching the husky. "Usagi and I have been friends since we were little kids, so basically forever."
"Oooh. Kickboxing. Wow!" Naru sounds suitably impressed by that. "Congratulations on that. It looks so /cool/. I could never." She admits, just a bit sheepishly perhaps. "I'm such a wimp."
Naru considers the typewriter a moment and scritches Boris some more. "The typewriter is super bulky, I can imagine it's a pain to haul around. Tape recorders are way easier."
- Hannah Sharpe has posed:
By now, Boris has turned over, has his legs in the air, and is getting belly scritches. That leg kick-kick-kicks in the air. Doggie heaven!
Hannah crosses her arms, soaks in the compliment, and nods. "'Can't do it'. 'Wimp'? See, that's your problem. You say something like that, you've already lost! I wouldn't have won my first fight if I hadn't pushed myself up when I was about to lose, and kept on going anyway."
Reeeach, poke on the nose!
"Come by the gym some time while we're practicing, and I'll show you the ropes, kiddo. Anything for a friend of Usa's. How'd you two meet anyway?"
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"How'd I meet Usagi?" Naru blinks at the question and then she giggles softly and there's a little gesture. "We were in preschool together. When I say we've been friends basically forever, I mean really basically /forever/. We've always been in the same class and stuff. So just.. I dont' remember ever not having her around."
Naru thinks about that offer and then smiles. "Okay! I'll come by the gym and try it. I mean, what's the worst that happens? I can look like a goof." She doesn't look so distraught at that idea, not really. "If I'm really bad at it, I can just practice drawing people in motion. It's really /hard/."
It's easy enough to just keep scritching Boris, rubbing at his belly and it makes her laugh as she watches him. "You don't mind being a goof, do you?"
- Hannah Sharpe has posed:
Hannah listens, begrudgingly starting to work on some of her catchup studies in between. She's totally not using Raging Tempest to help. No. She'd never cheat like that.
"And she hasn't driven you insane yet?" Grin! Both hands go up.
"Kidding! She's great. I just...man, there's people person, but Usagi's on a whole 'nother level." Pause. She's now thinking of preschool Usagi. It has to be /adorable/!
Hannah makes a d'awww face before snapping back to reality.
"Still, though, I'm glad she has a friend like you. You seem like a pretty grounded kid. I think it's good for her." Can't spend your life with your head in the clouds /all/ the time, world saviour or not.
/Sigh/. "That's okay, some people just can't hack...huh? Wait, you'll really do it?" Color Hannah surprised. Reeeeach! Two arms land on Naru's shoulders, and give a good, friendly squeeze!
"You, Naru Osaka, are a /peach/! I'll get the whole thing planned out! Trust me. I've seen /bad/. But if you have heart and a will, that won't matter. It's all about strength of character and determination!" Hannah looks like she's won the lottery.
Pffft! "I think you're adorable, and already a half sight tougher than some of the punks who tried to join my club. So if that's a 'goof', then I think we're going to get along juuuust fine, Naru. Now c'mon, tell me about yourself! Who's this mysterious Usagi-wrangler, huh?"
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Nope! Not insane yet. Or perhaps I am, and I haven't noticed at all." Naru giggles softly, shaking her head as she uses one hand to nosh on fries and the other hand to spoil Boris. Somehow /she/ doesn't seem concerned about homework, or at least not right at the moment. "Usagi's great, I've met so many neat people because she is such a people person. I'm also very very good at listening." She grins, it's a survival skill for being Usa's bestie. Seriously.
"Well. I'm just a boring kid.. so I guess I'm grounded." Naru considers that and then gives a little shrug and then looks a little sheepish. "Well. I mean.. I might as well /try/, right?" She smiles at the surprise on Hannah's part, and the squeeze. "Really? People don't take you up on even /trying/ it? I'll at least try it! I don't know about the strength of character, or anything else, but I'll try."
Naru ducks her head a touch and there's a little laugh. "Er.. there's not much to know about me. I've lived in Tokyo all my life. My mother is a jeweler." She mmms softly. "I'm an artist? Oh! I talked Kunzite into taking ballroom dancing lessons. Which are a ton of fun. I think he's enjoying them too, but it's sometimes hard to tell with Kunzite."
- Sora Hisakata has posed:
Sora is trying to find ways to distract herself. She's currently wearing all black (except for the red demonic skull on her black shirt), looking to be somewhat down. She notices Naru and Hannah, and approaches with a lethargic wave. "Osaka-sempai."
They probably don't know eachother very well, but the girl is known at school to provide excellent and affordable (but far from free) tutoring services, and is one of the better players in Seishou Middle School's volleyball team. "Who is your friend?"
- Hannah Sharpe has posed:
"Well, anyone who gets Boris' tail going that fast can't be but so crazy!" Down below? That tail has made it's own wind as he wagwagwagwag's away!
Leeeean back into her chair. "You know, that's probably her best feature. She attracts people...not like that, but..." Her hands wave as she hunts for words.
"She's a warm, comforting blanket that wraps around you and lets you know that no matter what, there's someone who cares, and it'll all be okay. A blanket that never seems to run out of space for people."
A chuckle. "Considered being a psychologist?"
"I like your attitude. If you'd stop putting yourself down, you'll go for. So chin up, huh?" Reach, chin, point up! "That's the spirit! Oh man, I have had to...uh...use some interesting methods to get people to realize they needed a bit of toughening up." Innocent whistle. Totally not thinking of an auditorium, Moon, and a Smoking Bomber to the face.
Pause. Squint. "Jeweler, huh? Where at? I, uh...wellll....IkindawanttogetagiftformygirlfiendandIwantittobeniceyouknow!?" Griiiin. Blush.
"W...wait. Kunzite...ballroom dancing. Eh. Ya know, I can see it! How'd you manage that?" Leeeean in.
"You two dating? He's handsome, aloof, but...yeesh, he's a good guy. There when you really need him." There's honest to god respect coming out of her.
Nod nod. "Yeeeah, part of the charm I guess. I like 'em a bit more feisty, but like I said. Good guy, ignore the wall of stoic. Dude's been through a /lot/."
Perk up. "Yo!" Griiin. Right at Sora. "Man, the rain gets everybody together, huh? Come on over! Dry off! Name's Hannah Sharpe, kiddo, and this lug is Boris! Nice to meet ya!" Oh yeah, Hannah's holding the extrovert title aloft for Usagi right now.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Hi Sora." Naru waves a little to Sora and then her expression turns to a frown. "Is everything alright?" She asks with an edge of concern. "This is Hannah. She goes to Infinity, and this is Boris." The later indicates the husky who is still getting scritched. "Fry?" She nudges her basket of fries over in offer to Sora, and Hannah both. How can one be sad with fries?
"Psychologist? Er.. no?" Naru blinks at that notion and then there's a little laugh. "Mamo suggested diplomat. I don't know what I want to do later." She has her chin lifted for her and then she blinks a moment as she processes the runon sentance. "Aww. Stop by when I'm working, I'll /totally/ help you pick out something nice for your girlfriend! That's so sweet!"
Naru promptly blushes at the suggestion of her and Kunzite dating. "Oh no.. no no no.. not dating. I mean.. sure.. handsome.. but no no no. He's like my /brother/. Nope." She shakes her head quickly. "I mean, I like him lots, but not like /that/. It just.. I thought he could use a hobby. Something just to relax, and we agreed on ballroom dancing. It's fun."
- Sora Hisakata has posed:
"I wouldn't bother with dating, boys are awful." Sora opines, which may be related to the source of her sadness. She takes out a fry, though, just one, and noms. "Thanks." She sits down, and only then seems to remember that she hasn't introduced herself. "Sora Hisakata, one grade below Osaka-senpai."
"I'm on the Volleyball team, and I do private tutoring so if you ever need help with that, gimme a call." She not so subtle advertises her own services, smiling while she does it, though it appears to cost her effort.
- Hannah Sharpe has posed:
"What she said!" Pipes up Hannah 'helpfully'! Smirk!
Boris looks over. One eye slooowly openeing. Then back to close. The doge is comfy!
"Eh, yeah, I can kinda see that. Well, if I ever need someone to stop a war, I know just who to turn to!" She laughs. Why does she not sound like she's kidding here!?
Two arms pump. Yesssss! "Score! Let me guess, the one right around the street, right?" It's a wild shot, but she's been right before.
Thankfully before she can clap Naru on the back, Sora has to be the downer.
And thankfully Hannah knows when to tone it down. Oh yeah, she knows that tone.
"...Hey, they all can't be winners, you know? Lots of the fish in the pond, et cetera. Take some time, cool off, find someone who isn't a jerk!" Grin! /Confidence/! Mostly for Sora's sake.
"Nice to meet you Sora. Heh, good sport, Volleyball! Not as good as kickboxing. But you learn to hit pretty hard!" Nope, not enough violence involved for Hannah.
Then she's leeeaning towards Mitoki in the background. "Oi. 'Toki. Get that kid a coffee, she needs it. And it better not be that Mamoru-hipster-bs. Double shot, cream, sugar. Get her so hyper heartache doesn't matter!" She 'whispers'. Meddle meddle, Hannah-chan!
Then, she deflates.
"...Really? Man. Eh, I get it though. Then you be a good little sister, got it!? You might be my new Kickboxing Kohai, or I'll kick your butt, got it!?" Grrr...for all of one second. Then she's back to smiling and laughing.
If Naru and Sora hasn't gotten the memo, Hannah Sharpe is a little intense.
"You're right though. He's way too wound up. I hope he learns to relax, things aren't.../that/ bad anymore. If there's one thing I learned, it's that you sometimes need to just let go, and enjoy life. Too damn short." Frown. For a moment, her mind is set on puella magi.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Oh dear." Naru nudges more of the fries in Sora's direction. "That doesn't sound good at all. I've.. well.. I've never actually dated anyone." She admits softly and then nods to Sora. "I've seen the volleyball team play. You're pretty good."
She looks to Hannah and then she starts to giggle softly as that familiar force of personality just crashes over her. Oh so familiar.
"Yes, my mother's store is just up the street and around the corner a bit. I'm often there on weekends." Naru laughs a little. "I try and be a good little sister, to all of them really. I mean, all of them need a little sister, or at least it feels like I'm pretty good about little sister." She nods in agreement, watching Hannah deflate down a little. "Life is too short. That doesn't look good either."
- Sora Hisakata has posed:
"I'll get on that right after I find the fountain of eternal youth." Sora's response to Hannah is dripping in sarcasm and a lack of faith in such a thing existing. Perhaps it's just too recent. She does, fairly thoughtlessly, eat some of the offered fries.
The girl reaches out to scritch Boris behind the ear. "But Kukai Souma is especially bad, if you run into him, be careful. He had like a gazillion simultaneous boy and girlfriends." There's anger flaring up there, too. "Volleyball is good though. It gets my blood pumping, and it's just so great to see two people desparately trying to stop the ball you're slamming right into the court."
The topic of life being too short doesn't quite seem to impact her, but she does seem to be aware that topic carries some emotional weight, so she doesn't interrupt.
- Hannah Sharpe has posed:
Arms cross! Hannah frowns! It's a big sisterly frown!
"Fix that, Naru! I bet you have an admirer or two that you don't even realize. Seriously, and you don't want to miss the experience no matter what. Ugh, I had a burnt out flame or two..." Sigh.
Thumbs up. "But you find the right one eventually."
Then back to Sora. Her brow twitches. "Oh. Ohhhhh. Yeeeeah, we've met. Don't go by that prettyboy face, absolute /jerk/!" Yup, still salty about 'destroying her building-slash-labs'.
"But not all guys or girls are Kukai Soma! You can bounce back, Sora-chan!" A fist raised! Confident hanners!
"Great. That Usa-group...they all need it." A little bit of the non-magical is grounding.
Reeeach! Swat! Right on Sora's back!
"Come watch us then some time! You'll realize the superiority of kickboxing! Movement! Sweat! Blood!" Enthusiasm ho.
Sigh. She does gather her things though.
"I hate to bail, kids, but you two are too fun! I need to get home some time reasonable or campus security is going to whine at me again. Take care you guys! And come to the study group some time!" With a wave, Boris and Hannah are off, after paying for Naru's food!
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"If I do.. and I don't think I do.. then I've never noticed!" Naru protests on the notion of an admirer, still with some colour to her cheeks at the very idea. She does seems to take note of the name being bandied about, no recognition on her face at it. "I've never met him. I kinda hope I don't, based on that."
Naru ers softly, clearly having second thoughts about agreeing to kickboxing at the mention of blood. "I.. er.. I'll see you soon? Good luck!" She calls after Hannah and then just sits quietly a moment after the pair have headed off.
"Wow. She is a force of nature." Naru comments quietly.
- Sora Hisakata has posed:
"I doubt it." Sora answers the idea of most boys being less awful, but she doesn't seem to really be interested in contesting the topic, so she moves on. "I'll come watch, if you let me know when, I promise." She flat-out ignores the idea of switching toa different sport.
"See you latter, Sharpe-san." She waves, and then pops another fry into her mouth, and when Hannah is gone she looks towards Naru again. "She sure is something, I don't think I want to get on her bad side."
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Me neither." Naru agrees on the poor idea of getting on Hannah's bad side. "And not just because of the kickboxing, but that's probably reason enough!" She tucks her things back into her bookbag and closes the flap on it. "I should probably get going too. I never actually get much homework done here." She pauses a moment. "I hope you feel better soon, Sora. Do you want to do something later this week, distraction from boys being stupid?"
- Sora Hisakata has posed:
"Sure, that sounds good." Sora agrees on the doing something later this week, with a faint smile. She knows she could use the distraction, but she doesn't feel like it'd help enough. "If you need help with your homework, or know a friend who does, give me a call?" She hands Naru a business card.
